cherry needs a guest!

hello! with cherry's youtube channel returning, she needs a guest for one of the episodes! the only requirement is your muse must either be an idol, actor or model! if you'd be interested in your muse joining, please like this post!

the seoul arts center announced a couple weeks ago about an immersive theatre production, which is something i’ve never heard of until i attended ‘one night’! to my understanding, when you navigate through the venue, the cast and stage moves and interacts based on the audience. it’s really cool once you get to see it in person, trust me!

anyway, BAEK SEONA ( who plays NAM DAEUN ), KIM CHERRY ( who plays HAN JAHYE ), and YANG AERI ( who plays KWON YERIN ) were three of the actresses a part of this project and they were REALLY good omg. i loved the tension the three of them had as they were in search of something… whether it was searching for another person or information, it was so exciting seeing them be in their character and interact with some of the audience members!

rumor has it that if you go again, the ending is always different, which makes the whole immersive show even more fun! i didn’t get a chance to go the second time because i was busy, but maybe someone can tell me what changed?

besides that, i heard that the show was sold out for five weeks straight! that’s pretty impressive! i wished that they had more seats available during each showing, but i got that it had to be small because of the concept… huhuhu…

[ + / - ] i’ve heard that the immersive production was something that was introduced overseas so i didn’t think that korea would have one too. i’m glad that this was a success because i’d like to see them do it again! [ + / - ] ugh, are you kidding me? even in this project there are legacy celebrities too? isn’t anyone tired of seeing them? [ + / - ] op, i did see this show three times and you’re right, each ending is different from the other. during my first night, i thought the ending suited jahye and her goal to gain some wealth. then on the second night, i liked how through daeun, we got to see more about what type of information people were withholding and why they were there… and on the last night, i felt yerin’s struggle to fit in a party that she wasn’t directly a part of… all of the actresses conveyed their struggles well imo!

pokemon pok–...? something!

while cherry’s passion very obviously was acting and hosting, it was fun to do other things too. cherry had never felt like she was particularly good at modeling, but modeling gigs were here and there sent her way, and cherry’s modeling skills very slowly improving. it did feel crazy to model for nintendo, even though this wasn’t her first time modeling for nintendo, she still felt kind of… starstruck? it was a bit unbelievable such a big brand wanted her to model for them, so when she got the opportunity to model for them once more, she was very excited.

truthfully cherry didn’t know much about the game “pokemon pokopia”, she’d promised herself to investigate the game and figure out what it was about before the photoshoot, but her terrible memory made her forget about that. so now she’s here, for the promotional photoshoot. she spots a familiar face she hasn’t seen in a hot minute, and walks over to the other “hey yushin!” she says, waving excitedly at the other. “ready to do some modeling?” she asks, tilting her head a bit to the side.

cherry looks up, smile sitting on her lips, blonde hair thrown into a ponytail, and excitement in her eyes, ready to answer some questions.

“what’s your favorite nintendo game of all time, and why?” cherry hesitates a bit, letting her mind wander before she at last realizes the answer is a bit obvious. “luigi’s mansion 3, absolutely.” she nods confidently. “i love it because it’s just… weirdly comforting? like, it’s spooky, but not too spooky. i’m terrible with horror games, really terrible…i get scared embarrassingly easily, so i like that it feels creepy without actually making me want to turn the console off.” “and luigi is honestly one of my favorite nintendo characters,” she says, smiling. “he’s clearly terrified the entire time, but he still keeps going to save everyone anyway, which i weirdly admire. he feels a lot more relatable than mario. like, he’s scared, but trying his best.” “the hotel setting is also so fun,” she continues. “every floor feels completely different, so it never gets boring, and i love exploring every room and vacuuming everything for money like i’m about to become rich.” she laughs. “also, gooigi? icon. weird little green guy. ten out of ten.”

“if you could live in any nintendo world, which one would you choose?” cherry immediately shakes her head like she’s already overwhelmed by the question. “why are nintendo worlds either magical wonderland or you would realistically die?” she asks. she thinks for a moment, tapping her chin. “okay, my answer is probably the world of animal crossing,” she says finally. “and before anyone says that’s a boring pick, listen to me.” she holds up a finger. “you get your own house, adorable neighbors, a cozy little town or island, and somehow nobody expects you to have a normal job? your biggest responsibilities are fishing badly, decorating, and occasionally being emotionally manipulated by turnip prices” cherry laughs. “it just seems peaceful. like, imagine waking up, hearing soft music, wandering to a café, talking to a squirrel who calls you bestie for no reason, then spending the afternoon decorating your house.” 

“what do you enjoy most about playing on the nintendo switch 2?” cherry smiles immediately. “honestly? the fact that it fits into my life so easily.” she leans back in her chair. “my schedule is kind of all over the place with acting and youtube, so i really appreciate being able to just… pick it up and play without it feeling like a whole commitment. if i only have half an hour before i need to leave, i can still actually enjoy something.” “i also really love that i can switch between playing properly at home and being lazy,” she laughs. “like, some days i’ll sit on the couch and play on the tv, and other days i’m fully curled up in bed in pajamas playing handheld because i refuse to be productive.” she pauses. “and this is maybe a boring answer, but i genuinely love how social nintendo games feel? even when you’re playing alone, they tend to feel cozy and fun instead of overly serious. and if friends are around, suddenly everything turns into chaos in the best way.”

cookies from the beginning

the adventures of kim cherry - season 7, episode 4

“there’s a familiar background here today, isn’t there?” cherry says, looking around. “if you watched the ‘where’d you hide them, easter bunny?’ episode, you’ll notice we’re in the same garden again” she nods her head. “my friend has once again allowed me to use their garden, though today we aren’t finding fake eggs that ruined my whole day” she shakes her head. “we’re making cookies today, but with a twist…” the camera pans over to a hen house, “we’ll be gathering the eggs today” though you can’t see cherry in the clip, you can hear her disappointment along with a sigh. the camera pans back to cherry “welp… welcome to the adventures of kim cherry everyone! i’m kim cherry, who of course, cherish you all” she smiles, though her heart beats fast.

cherry stands there for a moment, smiling at the camera like everything is totally under control, except her eyes keep flicking over toward the hen house like it personally offended her. “okay,” she says, clapping her hands together once, a little too sharply. “how hard can this be? people get eggs every day. children get eggs. i’m at least as capable as a child. probably.” from inside the enclosure, a hen clucks. cherry freezes mid-step. cherry turns her head slightly toward the camera. “they know i’m here.” she tries to laugh it off, but it comes out thin. “it’s fine. it’s fine, i just go in, grab the eggs, and leave. quick in and out. like a professional egg… gatherer”. 

she reaches the gate, and takes a deep breath before walking, at first, no chaos, “hey, maybe this isn’t so bad?” she says, still standing still. “chicken and hens walk weird, or is that just me?” she looks at the camera. “okay well, don’t mind me, i’m just here to borrow some eggs, or steal technically i guess, since you’re not getting them back…”. she crouches slightly, trying to make herself smaller, inching toward the nesting boxes. “we’re all friends here. mutual respect. i respect you, you respect me, i take your eggs—” a hen flaps its wings, making cherry surprised. cherry stands up, hens coming closer, “they’re gonna eat me!” cherry yells, running towards the gate to escape.

the video cuts, “okay… i had a five minute break and some time to think, they sensed fear, i have to go in with confidence, that was my mistake…”. cherry walks in again “round two” she whispers. cherry walks in with “confidence” this time, finding the eggs and this time doing it all smoothly. she exits, smile on her face, eggs in her arms “that’s not enough eggs” the camera man says, a scared expression on cherry’s face shows up, before the camera man continues “sorry… i’m joking”.

the video cuts, cherry now in the kitchen, ready to make cookies from the very eggs she gathered herself. the cookie part goes rather smoothly, and cherry gets the time to chat with herself, and “the camera”, talking about her life in the us, her goals for the future. while it is the episodes where she gets hurt that gets the most views, cherry enjoys videos where she’s able to talk a bit, where the viewers can get to know her.

the video cuts, cherry sitting on a couch, “should we try them?” she says before taking a bite “that’s gotta be one of the worst things i’ve ever put in my mouth… i think i forgot i’m a terrible baker, and probably following a recipe would’ve been good… well, at least i know how to gather eggs now?”.

“this was the last episode of the season, i do apologize for that… hopefully we’ll see each other soon again though! this was the adventures of kim cherry, with your host kim cherry, who cherish you all, see you again!”.
