The fact she only had four Episodes instead of six like last trimester felt a little weird. In a sense it was nice because it meant she had more time to focus on other things and actually attempt to get her work for university done on time but for now she’d focus on filming.
“Welcome back to Lily’s Bakery! Going into the second season, you may have noticed we have a bit of a change in concept this time but let me grace over the rules again real quick,” she begins, a wide smile on her lips and a spoon in her hand as usual. “For the second season it’ll be my guest who will come in with a recipe and without knowing what awaits me, we’ll have to bake it together and hopefully result in a delicious pastry for us to share with the staff,” Jieun explains yet again before turning towards Jinsoul off-screen, signaling for her to get ready.
“Now lets welcome our third guest, shall we? Say hello to Kim Jinsoul!”
She watches Jieun in awe transforming to Lily in front of the camera, when in the matter of fact she would always be Jieun to the trainees and idols amongst them. Jinsoul wonders if one day she would master such a skill too, everyone new that idols or entertainers have different personas in and out of the public, but it sure is damn strange to see the transition live. It’s pretty inspiring actually.
“Hello, everyone! It’s yours truly, Kim Jin-Soul!” Waving brightly at the camera, oddly enough her previous thought suddenly flashes through her mind rending Jinsoul blushing red. “Ah- I- Thank you so much for having me in your show, Lily-unnie. I’ve been following up on the previous sessions and I hope you enjoy my recipe too! Here it is- Rainbow Red Velvet Cake!” Gathering herself in the last moment, hoping that they would either edit it out or find it ‘cute’ or something of that sort.
This is probably one of the questions that were both easy and difficult to answer. Jinsoul prides herself to be somewhat of a “triple threat”- someone who can dance, rap and sing in the idol industry- but of course, having not debut yet one can’t really validate that fact. Although most of the trainers in those categories seem to be happy with her performance and progress so far.
“I do actually want to improve in my variety skills... and acting skills.” Chewing on her lower lip as she pondered thoughtfully. With her brother making a name for herself in the modelling industry, while her sister was pioneering in the entertainment business, Jinsoul wanted to solely focus on being an idol. However, to be successful and known she is aware that she needs to do more, perhaps acting maybe her secondary path. “Yea, definitely acting. Maybe one day you’ll see me in a drama or something.” Cheekily smiling at the camera.
do you have any go to songs or artists when you're practicing to get you focused and hyped?
“Oh this! Honestly, my go-to artists are my sunbaenims DSBK. Specifically, with songs like Ko-ko-bop and the classic Miss Right, I mean not to forget Just Right and Lucifer too-” catching herself from rambling on about how much of a fangirl she is of their most high-ranking boy groups. It wasn’t as though she doesn’t like the new music coming out of their company, not at all, especially when most of her friends have debuted into those new groups.
However, the older songs simply came in with their own symbols. “Forgive me.” Smiling giddily at the camera, “as you can imagine I grew up with those songs and for someone who is in this field. Looking up to them and other bands like Blazing sunbaenims, really helps me focus and strive for the best. They are literally my idols.” As cringy as that may sound there was some facts behind those one-liners.
have you read anything particularly good this year? if not, what's your favorite book you've read?
“Oh, well...” It was not as though she was not well-read, quite the opposite really. In fact, in her spare time when she is not busy daydreaming about being out on her skateboard or busy with extra training, Jinsoul could be found in some corner with a book.
It was well known in her family that Jinseo inherited the scientific mind but Jinsoul was an old soul when it came to literature. Audiobooks to the digital novellas and definitely some paperback books could be found in her person more often than not. "I have actually started this new series called the Throne of Glass, I've literally only just started today and I'm already captivated by it. Maybe in our next Q&A, I can keep you guys updated."
❝ feelin’ like i run it, checked my pulse, over 100 got no peak,
i got no summit, i’m not average, i don’t sum it
@lgcjsoul
it wasn’t every night that jake dragged her out to skate board. it was also a while since the last went out in the middle of the night to the skate park but it was always fun and worth the little adrenaline that he got out of skateboarding. of course he always made sure to spoil jinsoul whenever she came with him. whether that was midnight snacks, or a hot drink, energy drink for himself, it was always fun.
“so, how long before i have to return you to your dorm?“ he asks, stopping the board right in front of jinsoul, a loud thump of his feet hitting the ground following. “i also got to feed you and make sure you are in one pieces and not whiny when i get you back.“ jake jokes, reaching and ruffling the girls hair. maybe he babied her every once in a while.
A glimpse of spring that evening decided to show itself. as much As jinsoul enjoyed the winter snow, she was an island girl, spring and summer was her home. So when he invited her out for a late night skate, Jinsoul hastily snuck out of the dorm to meet him. Making sure to wrap her wounded wrist to prevent the cold or possible a fall from making it worst.
“honestly, I’m not sure- guess so long before they start checking in on us.” Jinsoul shrugs, reaching forward to inspect an unsuspecting wheel at the bottom of her board. Huffing away when Jake messed with her hair but smiling instantly when he mentions food. “Ooooh I saw a ramen and tteokbokki truck by the parking area, wanna race for it old man?”
hi everyone, just a quick update I’m changing Jinsoull’s fc from ahn yujin to shin ryujin. everything remains the same except she would be a year older, 2002 liner. ^^
The fact that she has gotten this far into the competition baffles her. For someone with her physic, Jinsoul should have been in the basketball or track line up. In fact, she wanted to be. However, as it happens the only thing she could sign up for was wrestling or archery. At that point, she had a 'fuck it' moment and went for wrestling out of a whim.
But to be a qualifier for semi-finals, at something she did not even particially have any interest in, ultimately shows how much Jinsoul hated losing. Alas, the higher one is the harder the fall. So as she tilted to the side and fell, Jinsoul reached out her hand to try and catch her fall but ended up hurting herself and inevitably hurting herself. When she finally gets the chance to stand up, Jinsoul holds her wrist close to her chest. Bowing politely to her opponent and the crowd before making a bee-line to her older brother.
"Oppa," unable to meet his eyes, lips wobbling as she pouts. "I'm not sure what happened, but I think I fell on it wrong." It took her a moment to gather up the courage to actually look down at her hand. As it turns out it got caught at the braclet she forgot to remove during this match that ended up resulting a small cut on the top of her wrist. A small hiss escapes her lips, it wasn't so bad at least she didn't sprain anything which is what she initially feared.
"I guess I should be more careful huh?" mumbling under her breath, as she allows Jinseo to take care of her. In an odd way, it was nice to have her sibling fuss over her, even though Jinseo has always been rather attentive with her since they started to live in the same city. "I'm sure I would be okay, Oppa. I'll just change the bandaid later on." Smiling sheepishly in hopes that it would ease Jinseo's worry.
Did she have a lot of issues in this, yes. Is she going to do anything about it, no. For someone who grew up in her grandmother’s kitchen and had extensive knowledge on how a macaroon should at least look like, Jinsoul was mildly disappointed with how some of this turned out. To say she expected more from one of the cafes supposedly sponsoring them was an understatement.
Rolling her eyes as she turned around with a ‘fresh’ batch, Jinsoul looks towards her fellow trainees. One of the activities somewhat required for them is to make hand made goods for the fans. It was sweet really, especially when they all came out here to support the trainees and idols this is the least they can do. At least that’s one way of looking at it.
“Urm, hi, excuse me...” Using her elbow to gently nudge the stunning trainee beside her, “hello, I’m Kim Jinsoul, don’t think we’ve met yet... but I don’t suppose you’re alright with maybe decorating some macaroons with me? For you know, the fans?” With a small smile that showed eager enough without coming across creepy or rude.
plus one in acting, hosting, variety and performing.
plus two in modelling and singing.
IISTJ-A “Logistician”
Honest & Direct | Strong-willed & Dutiful | Responsible | Calm & Practical | Create & Enforced Order | Jack of all Trades
Jinsoul can blame all her attitude and pent up aggression on her family dynamics. But in reality, much to her dismay, she is very self aware that only she alone is responsible on her outlook and actions in life. Which is why with each decision and move she takes, Jinsoul confidently does so for her benefit and hers alone. No one else has anything to gain from her achievements but herself, therefore she would do whatever it takes to strategically get what she wants.
Stubborn | Insensitive | Always by the book | Judgemental | Often Unreasonably Blames Themselves
There is no doubt that she entered the entertainment industry out of spite for her siblings. Even though their relationships has gradually changed throughout the time spent together, Jinsoul still takes a lot of incentive from the angst that she feels against them or their history. She is not afraid to bring it up with them and have a hard time adjusting to certain aspects in their relationship. By extension with other people. There is an underlying insecurity that no one would stick around with her. Therefore its always best to stick to what she knows rather than risk it for anyone who probably wouldn’t be there for long.
The Loyalist (Type 6)
Making responsible and practical choices | Honoring commitments to people and plans | Protecting and caring for others | Recognizing and thinking about other perspectives | Ability to consider both logic and emotion
If there are people she truly cares for they are her grandparents. The old folks raised her as though she was their own child, admittedly being the youngest out of the siblings and left behind by her parents made made things more easier. With them always in her mind, Jinsoul knew that finding her own identity while reconnecting with her siblings would make them exceptionally happy. Regardless of her inhibitions to the later, Jinsoul would do anything to see her grandparents happy.
Difficulty controlling anxious thoughts | Tendency to expect the worst outcome or be pessimistic | Fearing important or major life decisions | High levels of self-doubt and insecurity
The down side of being a perfectionist is the constant anxiety and pessimism of getting things wrong. She is aware that practice makes perfect and to learn from one’s mistake is the best way to gain more knowledge and experience. However, Jinsoul’s profound fear of lacking behind her siblings and constantly being compared to them, makes her second guess and doubt herself. Even in her most confident abilities. Which is why she has limited herself to pursuing an idol path knowing full well that her siblings are deviating from that path. Perhaps one day when she no longer feels the anxiety of being compared it would drive her to try something else out.
Primary & Secondary Ravenclaw
Ravenclaw Primaries have a constructed system that they test their decisions against before they feel comfortable calling something right. It gives them a way to frame the world and a confidence in their ability to interact with it morally. | Ravenclaws are collectors. Dedicated to knowledge, to facts, systems, tools, or skills, the things they have already learned are what they call on when things get tough. They can collect useful skills, build complex clever systems or invent vitally useful things.
If there is something she trust more than her sharp intuition, is her innate need to rely on the facts and deeper meaning into the circumstances. When the truth is right in front of her and the knowledge, wisdom is placed in a silver platter and everything screaming yes. Jinsoul would pause for a moment prior to making a decision forward just to test out every possible theory and hypothesis on how things may go wrong, before making a calculative move.
Daemon (Wild Cat)
Your daemon would take the form of a wild cat! Those who have wild cat daemons are proud and confident people who radiate strength. They aren't necessarily the most talkative, but they have the largest presence in the room wherever they go. As natural leaders, the companions of these individuals know it's their way or the highway.
It’s inevitable that she has plenty of peers but very few she calls her friends. For someone who rarely trust anyone and acts mostly for her own benefit, it’s hard for people to understand her. Even in an industry that requires one to be ruthless to get into the spot light. Yet for the very same reason, Jinsoul stands out in the crowd. Her logical and confident mannerism including the effortless talent and tirelessly hardworking nature, it’s no wonder Jinsoul is on her way to making the next big triple threat.
“grandma’s cooking?” mirae couldn’t help but whine. “ah man, now you’ve gotten me all hungry for her cooking.” she pouts like the huffy baby that she is, yanking the younger girl down to sit down with her with a pout upon her lips. “i still think that you’re prettier than me though–you have the edge of being younger too.” she couldn’t help herself but to reach over and attempt to pinch jinah’s cheeks, completely satisfied with the way that it squished against her fingers.
“of course you are! most of our family are–just not minseok.” she scowled deeply. “i still don’t get how minseok didn’t disappear back when we were what, twelve, and i did throw purifying salt right in his face. i mean, i even tried getting it directly into his mouth. the devil wouldn’t even go away.” she gave jinah a big fat sigh along with a shrug from her shoulder. “what can i do but compromise? thankfully, a few years after, all your cuties were born, and my life wasn’t wrought with terror from an older cousin that shouldn’t exist.”
A small chuckle escapes her lips as she settles next to Mirae. “Right? Oh man she cooked this really amazing seafood soup with crabs and clams the other day.” Jinsoul sighs wistful at the thought of the meal had last weekend. “I think she said she might cook some beef this up coming weekend. Want me to tell her that you’ll be there?” Despite living in the dorms, Jinsoul takes full advantage of her grandmother’s cooking whenever she can, because even though Legacy has provided them with amazing meals. Home cooked food always hits different.
“Let’s agree to disagree. You can think I’m the prettier cousin while I think you’re the drop dead gorgeous one.” Jinsoul could not help but to roll her eyes when Minseok’s name has been mentioned. “What is it with you two?I thought family comes first?” Inwardly she cringes because this felt like opening up pandora’s box and its unfair to trigger her cousin when they were genuinely having fun. “little cousins saving the day, sounds about right?”
{not sure if I need to warn, but trigger warning: fire}
“I’ll always have time for you,” Jinseo says with a smile. “I want you and Jinah to know that you two will be my top priority… Unless of course, I can’t attend to you guys immediately, but you know what I mean. Don’t be afraid to ask me for anything.” They have grown up apart, but Jinseo has always felt protective of his sisters. He wants to make up for lost time by being there for them when they ask him to be.
Jinseo knows what it’s like to have to prove himself. It’s the only thing he’s done most of his life, to be honest. He had to prove that he was good enough for his parents, smart enough for his teacher, friendly enough for his peers, and talented enough to be in Legacy to name a few things. Now, this is admittedly one of the biggest things to prove: that he is a good enough older brother to both Jinah and Jinsoul. His sisters are more than capable enough of taking care of themselves, but as their older brother, Jinseo wants to be there for them too. He feels like he has to earn the right to be someone both his sisters can lean on.
“Explosives? Now you’re speaking my language,” Jinseo says as he washes his hands. Jinseo’s eyes land on the hand sanitizer nearby, and an idea strikes him. He thinks this might be even cooler than what he had wanted to suggest. “This may not be explosive, but have you ever wanted to have flaming hands without being burned?”
There was something both serious and endearing in the way he spoke that caught her off guard. So focused on herself and obsessing over her siblings perception of her, Jinsoul never actually considered what they thought of her and odd family dynamics. Suddenly she feels as though she hasn’t given her siblings, Jinseo especially, more credit. He was the oldest, if anyone had a say with how this all panned out it would be him. “Ah- thanks oppa... I didn’t realise you felt that way.”
Jinsoul shrugs half-heartedly, ultimately feeling overwhelmed with the knowledge that someone aside from her grandparents had her back. Growing up, she was more or less treated as an only child, which is why she felt a tad bit possessive over the elderly couple who looked after her and didn’t know how to share them with her siblings. While the concept of siblings and even parents simply felt like a distant idea, almost like a myth or folktale in some days.
“Wait did you just say flaming hands?!” She gasped out, completely forgetting to hash up as she stared dumbfounded at the older Kim. “No way, like those magicians in TV?” Because she has definitely not seen such a thing in mythbusters or any of the discovery channel shows, perhaps it was there recently but Jinsoul barely had time to watch anything with training and school occupying most of her time. “Yes please, don’t have to ask me twice oppa.”
from @cloudsandrain: Jinsoul-ah! Your skateboarding is both so cool and so dangerous. Unnie wishes to be as cool as you are! What's the most difficult skateboarding trick you can do, and how long did it take for you to learn it?
Quickly moving on to the next question, her grin turns into a genuine smile. It reminded Jinsoul that it has been a long while since she has taken her skateboard out for a little spin. Back home in Hawaii, she had a collection of them ranging from long boards, skate board and in a different platform even surf boards throughout the years. Being out in the sun and cruising on these mediums is how she spent most of her childhood days, away from the worries and drama that the world is subscribed with.
“I have to say this question might be one of my favourite ones.” Practically beaming to the extent that she could start to feel her cheeks hurt. To simmer down on all the reminiscing and longing to be on a board again snaps her fingers and excitedly went on to answer the question. “So for me, it might be the Alpha flip, which is basically a combination of another flip with added ingredients.” Again with the food reference, she needs to stop hanging out with her family, “its where you flip the backside fo the board to the front while you’re turning into a 180 angle. Took be about two weeks to learn it, maybe another two to get to the point that I don’t end up on tripping over my board.” Chuckling at the painful memories that came with her hobby. “Goodness, I wish I can show you right now, but I don’t have my board with me.” Pouting sullenly and trying hard to prevent herself from rolling her eyes at the producer who gave her a warning look. “But yea, maybe one day! Thank you for the question!”
@hyenanana: hello!! jinsoul-nim, you looked really cool and i'm envious of your height! meanwhile i'm just a little potato beside you ㅠㅠ what's the secret to growing tall? i wanna be tall too!
Her least favourite part of being a trainee, probably as an idol too, is the moment when the staff crew went quiet behind a scene. Given that everything needs to be recorded in a way that should capture only the entertainers, Jinsoul found the whole ordeal slightly creepy. With everyone overtly scrutinizing her every move, all the while being recorded.
It doe not take much for her to look interested, because she truly is, simply that she needs to exaggerate with her expression. “Hello! Thank you for your question,” smiling brightly at the camera, “if I’m cool, bet you are too! Since it takes one to know one eh,” wiggling her brows playfully as she shots out a terrible joke. “Scientifically, I have to say the secret is in your... genes.” Reaching forward to tilt the camera down, showing off her long legs hugged in skinny jeans, before flashing it back to her face. “It definitely helps to get plenty of sleep and eat healthily!”
it was by now no particular surprise of any sort that yoon mirae had a thing for her younger cousins. in her own, personal defence, mirae only thought that it was reasonable for her to so completely and utterly smitten by her younger cousins, all because of how cute they were. so when jinsoul appears out of nowhere and wraps her arms around her, the first thing that mirae does is to squeal loudly, whip around and pinch her adorable little cheeks.
“oh you sweet lovely little baby–” she cooed, even though she had to stand on her tip toes just be able to reach the younger girl’s cheeks properly with her fingers. “you cheeks got a little more pinchable! what did you do to them this time?” she cooed affectionately, jumping up a little just to be able to pat and ruffle jinsoul’s hair. “caption it as perfection 1 and perfection 2.” she joked, dimples pleasingly caving into her cheeks as she gave jinsoul an adoring little smile. “or just say a cute day with mirae! they don’t have to know we’re cousins, because i bet they won’t believe it, with you being such a pretty little bean.”
She beams brightly and scrunches her noise as she allows her older cousin to baby her. No one can say that Jinsoul does not like to be spoiled by her family. It did not matter that she would prefer to create a name for herself and grow without being in their shadow, which is kind of hard when plenty of them are entering the same industry. Jinsoul isn’t naive enough to think that she would not be compared to her loved once, especially her older sister.
Pushing aside such thoughts, the younger turns her undivided attention back to her older cousin. “all thanks to grandma’s cooking,” giving Mirae a knowing look, “oooh aye, it takes one perfect to know one.” Going along with her cousin’s joke as she fishes out a sharpie from her back pocket. “Oh I don’t know I think being pretty is definitely in our genes! Heck they would probably think I’m your greatest fan... which I am.”
Jinseo allows himself to laugh at the comment. He and Jinsoul are a lot more similar than anyone would think, given their circumstances. It’s almost weird to feel like a stranger to his youngest sibling, but they have weird parents. With unusual parents comes weird upbringing, he supposes. Regardless, he’s happy to have Jinsoul here. It amuses him to finally have someone to talk to about the science stuff he enjoyed so much when he was Jinsoul’s age. This is their chance to rekindle any relationships they should have nurtured as younger children.
“Sure we can,” Jinseo says with a smile. He would have ruffled her hair, but they just handled garbage bags. He’ll do that later after they have both properly washed their hands. “Even if I had plans, I would have set aside some time to do this with you. Let’s set it up after dinner and get everyone out of the way. What do you say?”
As he opens the door for Jinsoul, Jinseo turns to her with a smile. “Any other Tiktok experiments you want to try?” He admittedly has never gotten into the craze, as he is only allowed a personal Instagram account at the moment. Maybe he’s getting old, but oh well.
She withholds herself from beaming like a mad woman. The thought of making a mess in their family home for the purpose of science with her almost estrange older brother brought on a different type of adrenaline. It made her feel almost unstoppable. This must be what its like to join forces with one’s sibling.
“Aww thanks, oppa. I wasn’t so sure if I was pestering ya, you’know.” She shrugs, trying to look aloof but failing as she is unable to meet her brother’s eyes. Jinsoul is usually a very confident individual, an outspoken and one who doesn’t back down from a challenge. Apparently, not when it comes to her siblings, as she subconsciously seeks approval from there.
“Thanks, Ma we’re back!” nodding as she took a step forward, side stepping towards the sink to wash her hands before refocusing her attention back to Jinseo. “Oh forget tiktok from here, oppa. I’m up for anything,” exclaiming as she leans forward for a little stage whisper, “mind showing me an experiments that blow up things?” A mischievous glint in her eyes shining so brightly that it could be seen from outer space, hopefully Jinseo would continue to appreciate her curious mind.
