hi al!! if you would like a starter from jace, please hit that like button and i will get something out for you within the next few days!!
"hey, sobriety's taken out stronger men," ash scoffs with an exaggerated eye roll. it certainly hasn't gotten to him, even at the times he'd briefly thought it best to let it. "i mean, only three bottles? can you blame a man for questioning if you've changed?" it's all tongue in cheek and draped in the humor of two people who know they can give each other shit every now and then. ash would never actually meant anything negative by it â jihoon's one of the only people he really trusts to be there when he needs him and that counts for a hell of a lot.
"jury's still out whether i've actually survived it or it's going to take me out on some delayed timer, so i'm not the one i'd ask." it's not like he'd have much practical advice to give that wouldn't make him a hypocrite other than 'stay drunk and/or high as much of it as you can'. "you ready, though? everything still being worked on or are you pretty much set already?"
he passes the bottle of whiskey over to jihoon before he leans back in his seat. "damn, you know really know how to woo a guy. sweet talk me some more." he half-laughs, and then hums in thought. he could go for both â he hasn't exactly been eating as regularly as he should the past few months â but out of respect for jace's offer of treating him, he makes a decision. "beef japchae then? and anything else you want. you know i'm not picky either."
"honestly you have a point. ive been in meeting rooms a lot more these past few months, just talks and talks. barely had anyone around the studio since i popped that champagne for d-day." he explains, a bit absent mindedly. usually he had a lot more, but as he was not spending time in his own studio, he didn't feel the need to refill. the wine wasn't even his buy, which meant he really needed to get around and actually clean the place. "all my drinking buddies have been busy, my tolerance has dropped i tell ya." he says with a laugh, a roll of his eyes.
"damn, is that what is waiting for me? there were talks of putting up an american and european leg of the tour with a grand finish in seoul every time, can you imagine that?" jihoon pauses, a huff leaving him "on tour for like a year?" he sentence is enough to make him shudder. "we have finalized everything, practice is in full swing, but we are still talking about some in between stuff, like vlogs and what not. but the setlist is done, the stage is picked, outfits, special effects, it's all set in stone."
there is almost a sigh of relief that leaves jihoon as the whiskey bottle is passed to him, pouring himself a generous amount. "i know how to woo many people." he teases, grin pulling back on his lips. "beef japchae it is. bossam, jajangmyeon will we have space for tteok-bokki?" he asks, phone already in hand as he is looking which place to order from.
she accepts the offer with a grateful hum, peeling herself away from the cool brick to offer up her cigarette. "thank you," she says quietly, a slight smile curled around the cigarette that dangles from her lips. she sucks the smoke in and inhales deeply â feeling instantly relieved as the smoke fills her lungs. she exhales the smoke and lets out a quiet sigh of relief.
she feels relief for the first time tonight, and she considers it a miracle that she's run into jace of all people. but since the two mostly cross paths when alcohol (and lots of it) is involved, suji feels a little awkward around him when she's sober. she's painfully aware of how much he's seen â and heard â from her after she's knocked back multiple shots.
with another small sigh, she leans back against the brick, rolling her shoulders in an attempt to relieve the tension that's built up, bringing her cigarette back to her lips for another short inhale. "what brings you here? celebrating your tour?" she asks with a small smile, flicking the ash away from her cigarette and watching it fall momentarily, before returning her gaze back to jace. "congratulations, by the way."
"don't mention it." he replies, already reaching to take out his own cigarette pack, a quiet sigh leaving him as he realizes he has a lot less than he wanted. but jihoon shrugs it off, takes one out and lights it up himself, shoulder quickly leaning on the wall next to suji. it had been a while since he had seen her, especially when the roles were reversed. was jihoon ever drunk around her? he can't remember, but it doesn't stop him from breathing out a thick cloud of smoke.
"not my own will, i tell you that." he jokes, grin pulling on his lips as he turns ever so slightly to face her "got dragged out for final celebrations, its not that long before my tour starts and i'm off off and away." jihoon explains, as if suji hand't seen his schedule plastered somewhere randomly around seoul "thanks." he adds, head bowing politely. it was nice hearing it, no matter from who it was it was nice, he felt like he was going soft nowadays. maybe the industry was taking its toll on him.
"you wanna come to one of the final dates? i have a bunch of tickets i was advised to give out to people i knew." just a small gesture, to try and solidify their friendships. he really needed to pick up the pace when it came to giving those out, so why not start with suji.
outside a bar in cheongdam-dong. for @its-jace.
heading to a bar wasn't originally a part of tonight's plans. in fact, it was the last thing she wanted to do tonight â suji has found herself continuously making horrible decisions as of late, and she was trying to start the week off on the right foot. unfortunately, the people in her life had other plans â which is how she ended up at this little bar in cheongdam-dong, trying her hardest to remain on her best behavior. however, being sober in a bar that's overflowing with devastatingly drunk people was absolutely suffocating.
that's how she finds herself wandering outside â jacket pulled tight around her torso as she attempts to catch her breath and restrain herself. she leans against the cold brick of the building, eyes locked onto her phone screen as an unlit cigarette dangles from painted lips, trying to distract herself by fixating her gaze on the first post she sees pop up on her screen. free hand reaches into her pocket, rummaging around for her lighter â only to realize she left it inside. a muffled groan will slip past her lips as she closes her eyes, head tilted back against the wall in frustration. eyes will only peel open at the sound of footsteps, and she immediately relaxes when she recognizes the silhouette approaching her. "oh, hey," a small smile will punctuate her greeting, and she'll tilt her head curiously in his direction, eyes practically pleading with him before she even launches into her question. "any chance you've got a lighter on you?"
its too late to be willingly out at this point. he's been dragged left and right, finalizing celebrations before he gets dragged to the airport to start his solo tour. an event jihoon was dreading simply put, but he knew. he just needed to step on that first stage and he wouldn't want to ever step down. just like with every comeback he has, it follows a similar routine. which is why he is on his way back, glasses resting nicely on top of his head and swaying ever so slightly down the streets. maybe he should get a taxi, it seemed like a more efficient way, even call his manager, but the air had begun turning crispy, fresh, summer was going away soon. he could use it to sober up a bit. just enough.
jihoon is still curating the master plan for the rest of his night before someone catches his attention. well, it was a familiar voice if anything, he put a face to it before he even managed to catch suji into focus. "well, hello." he says back, hands already searching through the pockets of his jeans, jacket, eventually finding a lighter in the back pocket of his jeans. he is 100% sure he double checked that one. "let me light it up for you." he says, one of the few gentleman behavours he really has, lighting other people's cigarettes. jihoon is quick to shorten the distance between them, hands already reaching up with the lighter light for suji to use it for her cigarette.

the best thing about seoul, byunghee thinks, is that no matter where he goes someone is definitely going to have a lighter at hand. it would kill his mother to see how much he smokes on a daily basis, but byunghee likes to believe that she'd understand it a little bit if she truly knew how much pressure he's constantly wonder. he knows it's a feeling most people in this industry share and has been, in more than one occasion, an opportunity for some level of bonding. even though he's not feeling like the most sociable person at the moment, byunghee knows to act as a approachable and friendly as possible.
"thanks man," he reaches for the lighter, then proceeds to spend a solid minute attempting to light his cigarette while holding onto the umbrella. byunghee is very aware of the image he carries and how people perceive him, mostly because of his carefully crafted celebrity persona, and he knows part of it banks on him being cool. it is very decidedly not cool when he keeps fighting against the lighter and lets out a few more curses, especially as he manages to burn the tip of his thumb a little.
"fucking hell," quitting the act, he turns to the guy with what he hopes is not that much of a pathetic expression. surely he can get away with asking something like this, right? "man, i hate to say this, but would you mind lighting it for me? i think i had a little too much to drink, and my fingers are slipping." the lie slips out easy, but byunghee is attempting to save some face.
jihoon can't seem to disagree about the mimosa statement, but as someone who drank mainly and only whiskey, he can't say two glasses of champagne really would do much.. he doesn't say it out loud, he just shrugs in defeat and acceptance at the other's statement. what else was there to really say about this? "champagne isn't my thing really." he answers honestly. he had one mimosa when he got at the brunch and called it a day after that.
as soon as the other's, well, byunghee's cigarette is light, jihoon slips his lighter back into his pocket and focuses on his own cigarette, nearly out which was ever so slightly upsetting. he shouldn't get another one out, but he will have to wait and see "oh, i'm jace. nice to meet you." he says with a politely bow, despite his brows furrowing at the question if they have met before. "i am not sure⊠do you do music?"
"you want too much." jihoon rolls his eyes, lips pursing. he tended to fall in this typical cycle, of mild self destruction exactly until everything is finalized and he has to pick himself together again so he looks great during promotions. then again, wasn't that what every idol did? or has the industry changed and jihoon stuck to his old ways? he isn't sure he wants to know. "can you batt your eyelashes and be straight up with me? i feel like that's a nice middle ground." the rapper asks, brows wrigglingly at his own request. he knows he won't get that, but there was no hurt in asking.
sometimes, jihoon forgets that not everyone is as involved in every little bit of their career. having been micro managed by his old company, and moving to culture creative with the most freedom any idol would have imagined, was quite the change. he still isn't sure what made his current company reach out to him. he was a walking train wreck between promotions. "one day, when you get your own solo tour, i will bring this exact moment up." jihoon says with a firm nod, but makes it way too evident he doesn't want to further elaborate about her statements.

jihoon has had his face with a cigarette between his lips pasted on way too many articles for him to care at this point. he is sure more people knew about him smoking, including his parents, but it wasn't like they could do anything about it at this point. he just had to find a way to balance it out and not apologize about something he was not sorry about. simple as that. eventually, people seemed to care les and less, which was for the better.
"don't mention it dude." he replies with a little tip of his head and just focuses on his own cigarette, already thinking if he had to get back inside and continue mingling with whoever wanted his company. not an ideal situation, to go back smelling of smoke, but he is sure that whatever perfume everyone had decided to wear would quite neutralize it. he could only hope, and the thought was more than enough to make him sigh.
it doesn't take long before jihoon's attention shifts to the other, brow raised as he taps the ash of his cigarette. there is a grin pulling on his lips when he gets asked to help out, but he isn't really judging. they have all been there "really? on watered down mimosas?" he teases a bit, before taking his lighter back and makes a flame on his second try. maybe he should get a new lighter soon "come here-" he adds, reaching over to cover the flame with his other hand in case some wind decided to blow. wasn't like the rain was enough.

đđđđđđ in cheek. was that how they were going to play this ? fine with her. two could play at that game. but haneul was more than a player â- she was a winner. in her heart, at the very least, if not monetarily. then again, she was probably winning in that department too, given all that she was poised to inherit. her grin tightens, eyes shifting into a squint as she cocks her head. â oh, you, â haneul hums, arm darting out to knock against his own. not at all heedless if jihoon was holding something, even less so if it could cause a nasty spill. if he can offer an insult, then she can respond in kind. hnaeul doesnât give a single damn if the whole world goes blind.
life has been screwing me in the bunghole and iâve been gritting my teeth through it for years is less of a snappy comeback and more of a pathetic cry for help. she continues smiling instead. â what do you think ? â she replies. â donât tell me you missed six! i was quite good in it. like iâm quite good in everything. â not a boast. mere fact. let him try and take that from her. because, of course, in haneulâs estimation, forgive and forget were just pretty words to make people feel better for being too slow to retaliate, rather than an actual way to live oneâs life.
it was always awkward whenever he got himself in situations like these, but it had been long enough for him to not care as much. if it was a few years ago, he most likely would have avoided haneul like the plague, too unsure about what to do. he's grown past that, which seemed like someone else hadn't managed to... oh well, there was nothing jihoon could do about it and he had no plans on mending whatever spite the other had towards him. his apology wasn't accepted a while back, he was sure as hell it wasn't getting accepted now.... not that he would offer her one at this point. the knock against his arm should have probably phased him more, instead, he turns to face her, elbow leaning on the table.
"funny you say that and sorry to disappoint," he isn't sorry, they both know that "i have no clue what you are on about." he finishes his sentence and he means it. a smile tugs on his lips, but jihoon is sure it looks more like a grin and he lifts his shoulders. "on the note of missing stuff," his grin only grows wider because he knows, his album was everywhere "i am sure you didn't miss my recent release."
COFFEE & COUTURE w/ @its-jace [ dressed in mÀrchen fw21 ]
jean canât remember the last time she felt this sensationâstanding in the shadow of someone who never looks back. few people are as tall, broad, or as full of life as he is. it creates a microclimate in his wake: a sheer, black cape that trails behind him unless the sun is at its highest, or the moon is hiding behind her clouds.Â
she would often find herself lost in the shade back then. so full of fear she could never stand beside him, ticked neatly behind his shoulders. jihoonâs back finally turns and as he faces her, a stylist slots between them to fix his hair; the buffer should be a welcome relief but all she really wants is to be left alone with him.
or maybe that's the worst idea ever! either way, he looks great. typical.
âthank you again for joining our crew, we were all so surprised there was space in your schedule!â her voice is lilted and thick with that suffocating kind of formality. she looks around at her staff, who seem chuffed with todayâs guest and overjoyed they can share their admiration freely.Â
jean makes a gesture with both hands, inviting him to sit first. âonce you settle, weâll start rolling, then itâll all be pretty straight forward. the format is super casual, and i believe all the questions were approved prior this meeting.âÂ
she pours an espresso shot into his glass while the slate is struck, bowing her head as she passes it over. she tries to forget what this should look like: a sunday morning in july, mulling over jihoonâs freshly baked muffins and hiding a bouquet of tulips behind her back.Â
this was an awkward reunion on set. at least jihoon would felt like that, but hey, it was to be expected when you used to date someone in the industry. however, work was work and if one thing jihoon was good at, was separating work and private life. something he is very much proud he can do, like a flip of a switch.
he isn't a huge fan of fashion week, mainly because because he didn't wear anything that wasn't comfortable outside of work. simple as that. however, he was an idol, so that mean he has worn some wacky stuff for promotions and interviews and what not. you get used to it after a while. today was no exception, because the heels were an awful touch to the whole outfit, especially since jihoon was on the taller side, he didn't need to tower over everyone and everything, but his stylist had another opinion. it was a rather iconic, peter do outfit, he can't deny it.
his gaze is mainly on jean, but he isn't scared to look around the studio as both her and his staff mingle and make sure everything is alright, perfect even. she looks great as well, but he can't really bring himself to compliment her in front of everyone. "thank you for having me and my team, you guys were very lenient with the timings. it's really appreciated." jihoon replies, smile tugging on his lips as he makes himself more comfortable in his seat.
he's very gentle when jean passes him his coffee, head bowing in unison with hers as he takes it from her hands. "yeah, we have gone over them prior to getting here, so there is nothing to worry about. i'm good whenever you are." he confirms, smile tugging wider on his lips as he looks at jean. he doesn't remember the last time they had coffee, but he knows, it was way more domestic and happy than this. but this, it was work and he had to swallow whatever memories started bubbling up.
mengyaowuâ
sheâs not surprised his back is suffering, given jihoon suffers from a severe case of turtle neck - as do the many producers sheâs known over the years. just watching jinri produce has created a second-hand spinal health scare amongst the myworld girls.
still, the reminder makes her frown for a moment. how can he be so very uncareful and so awfully kind about it? suffering in silence is a rule that most idols live by, sure, but every breadcrumb heâs dropped about his past has been coated in sweet optimism.
she wants to be disturbed by it. she wants to bite through him and taste a rotten bitterness under all the sugar. but to harm him anymore would feel a bit fucked up and for once, sheâd much rather he kept his smile; itâs soothing.
ew. what the fuck was that thought?
âisnât it obvious? iâm networking.â jean grins and stretches out her arms to rest on his shoulders, patting them like an old man giving drunken advice. she wants to make a joke about how nothing in this world comes free, and go on teasing him forever (which she could, she really could), but her excitement gets the better of her. a surprise is in store.
âbut i do actually have a purpose today. i⊠have something for you! but you have to close your eyes first.â
jihoon really does blame the way he sits on the chair he is using, it's one of those office chairs you see everywhere and he hasn't had the chance or time to really change it. get one he actually enjoys sitting in, or even laying back for a nap. which reminds him, he needs to get a couch. the thought makes him sigh, enough to reach and rub his face with one hand. he needs to make a list of what he needs for the studio to make it comfier, he had been with culture creative for almost a year now. it was about time he did that.
"throwing paper planes at my back is definitely networking." the rapper explains, leaning over enough to pick up one of the said paper planes and chuck it back at jean. his eyes barely glance at the hand on his shoulder, and he isn't entirely sure how he feels about it. he lets it be.
it was like he had kids in his studio on a daily basis at this point, he wonder who else would come and network with him. "so why are you actually here? you've been here a lot more than expected for a group member." he asks, because he knows what it's like to be in a group, practically glued to the hip. then again, everlast didn't seen that interest in promoting the hopeful second coming of angelic.
jihoon is skeptical, to say the least, it shows in the way his brows furrow and he slowly leans back in his seat, almost out of her reach "you have something for me? damn, you really are networking, bribing even." he jokes, the tone of his voice light and there is almost a chuckle to it. he leans further back in his chair, arms folding over his chest as he closes his eyes "well, surprise me then."
MINGYU â© Snap Shoot [190919] âł counting down days till i see svt live (with random fancams): d-5
â update!
i started my new job today after 3 months break, and i will definitely be a lot slower the following few weeks while i get used to the new schedule; not to mention i start my masters on the 29/09 which will probably make me slow again qwq this is just a heads up, i might handle it way better than anticipated!
hyojung's plan for the afterparty was supposed to be something like this: get there, show her face, maybe stay and hour and then dip. she wasn't much of a party goer to begin with, and she was only here because there were shows she was invited to, and she should show up at the end for support. plus, there were some pieces of clothing she was still meant to wear. basically, she had some obligations left.
however, the alcohol or the music or whatever must have loosened a lot of people up because she could not get out of conversations with people. they were barely conversations to begin with because she spent more of the time simply nodding and offering friendly smiles. nevertheless, the night was sucking all the energy out of her, and she needed a break.
it doesn't take her too long to find a back exit, and she's 99% sure it'll be filled with smokers, but she'd take that over the cramped space and boring conversations anyway. when she finally makes her way out, she lets out a long breath she didn't notice she's been holding in. "did you run away from the crowd indoors as well?" she offers to the person beside her before slowly crouching down on the floor and grabbing her head.
@its-jace, dazed korea afterparty
after parties were really jihoon's forte, a glass of alcohol in hand, mingling with people for a few minutes each and eventually just drifting around in the crowd. simple as that, he did enjoy them. the music was nice, people were a bit more loose than stuck up, which was always welcome. he doesn't remember the last time he had met and talked with so much people, but it was definitely somewhat refreshing.
however, everything comes to an end and he feels the sudden draining of his social battery. he needed some fresh air, or a cigarette, or maybe both.. his mind was already made by the time he was even anywhere near the back exit, which was far more crowded than he hoped it would be. people chatting, smoking, he is pretty sure he saw someone making out at the far end of area but that was none of his business as he pulled out his pack of cigarettes and lighter.
jihoon is already mid smoke, thinking if he should head back or just leave. he had been here for the whole day, maybe it was about time he headed back home and sleep. the idea seemed very good, until someone's voice took him out of his daydream. "i definitely did." he answers, eyeing the girl that had just couched right next to him, head in hands "you good?" he asks, a bit worried as he takes another nice inhale of his cigarette, before stubbing the cigarette into the bottom of his shoe, tossing the bud in a nearby trashcan.
when he'd returned from tour, ash had sworn he'd take some time to himself. he could certainly use it; touring solo was an act that was both inherently lonely and inherently overextended him socially. nights post-show were spent either alone in a hotel room or out partying with dancers and staff. it admittedly hadn't done wonders for his mental health.
after a few days spent locked up in his apartment sleeping off the last few months, he'd finally decided to emerge from his cave, and a night of hanging out with jihoon had been on the to-do list. hanging out might be putting it vaguely; their idea of that always tended toward a specific brand of getting shitfaced together, but, hey, everyone has their thing.
"i heard you had booze. you know how i am when there's something in it for me." ash rolls his eyes in an equally over-the-top gesture as he makes himself comfortable in jihoon's studio. ash didn't tend to use culture creative's studios â call him too possessive over his own space â but it was probably for the best they met here instead of meeting at ash's place and encouraging him to stay cooped up in his own house.
"word on the street has it i'm not the only one with a tour to celebrate," ash points out. he keeps himself away from reading the entertainment news and gossip when he knows what's best for him, but he still does his best to keep up with what those in his circle have going on. "congrats, man." he grabs the bottle of whiskey by the neck and waves it in the air to announce his choice â an obvious one to most familiar with his drinking habits.
"i'm all for drinking on an empty stomach. builds character," he half-jokes. "but since we're celebrating, i'll acquiesce. i've been living off of different styles of pizza and chicken for months, so let's rule those out. i'm thinking... pork belly or hot noodles. but i could be swayed if you're thinking something else."
it was almost like ash had never left, they fall way too easily into their habits around one another but jihoon didn't mind. it was nice to have someone who he can be like that with. plus, he liked having ash around, his absence was a lot bigger than jihoon would have shown because the last thing he wanted to do was bother his friend while he was out there touring and probably being extra tired.
"of course there is booze, who do you think i am?" he asks, hand shooting to cover his chest, as if he is offended by the remark. he had significantly cut down on alcohol for the past few months just because work has spiked again. compared to 2022, jihoon had been back on track for being overworked, willingly this time around. he had already worked on two albums, and was in the talks about working on a third one, so he was busy busy.
"i might actually need to restock after tonight, i should be ashamed i have only three bottles here." he says as he starts putting away the two other ones after ash had picked his poison. it doesn't take him long after to get comfortable as well, smile tugging on his lips as the other mentions his own tour "yeah well, what can i say, i got lucky with this release." somewhat humble on his end, like always. "thanks man, you gotta give me all the tips and tricks to survive this one." jihoon requests, reaching over to pat ash on the shoulder. a silent congratulations on his end as well.
"well, i was thinking of treating you to whatever you wanted so," the rapper begins, taking out his phone and unlocking it before passing it to ash "pick whatever you want from wherever you want. pork belly, noodles, stew, whatever you want. you know i'm not picky." it's very nostalgic, but for jihoon that specific feeling lingered a lot. "lemme pour us the drinks while you pick, i have been itching for a drink with you for ages now." he explains, grin tugging on his lips as he wiggles his fingers at ash to pass him the whiskey bottle.
