RYUJIN β RUN AWAY (2023)
"correct!" she exclaims "that does narrow it down some" she adds with a chuckle. at a junction, she glances from one side to the other to situate herself. "i'll give you a hint...; it's a bit scary." the vr experience itself isn't the scary part of course, the zoombies however... let's say had she been given the choice, the nova member would've picked another theme.
camera in hand, yet barely paying attention to what it's capturing, she leads the other to their intended destination. "to be honest, i don't remember the last time i went shopping" she notes after a while, almost as an afterthought. prior to her debut, she was never one to be into shopping, only doing so as a social activity with friends, however since debuting, that hasn't even been on the table "my coupang cart however..." a disaster. "do you guys also get daily deliveries at your dorm?" she asks playully.
"oh! we're here!" milan exclaims moments later. this time, she makes sure the camera is properly capturing somin's reaction. hopefully, she made a good choice.
"scary?" she echoes, her eyes widening slightly as she tries to come up with ideas of what that could entail. her first thought would be a scary movie, but she crosses that off considering that it wouldn't be something too interesting to film for a show. so it definitely can't be that.
part of her still thinks about shopping, and her train of thought is derailed at the question of daily deliveries. "we don't live together anymore," somin points out, laughing a little even though she does sometimes miss living in a big dorm with all the other crystallis members and being together like that. she enjoys her own apartment too much though, to want to go back. "but we definitely got boxes piling up outside out door before," she says, nodding in rememberance. "i think after i finished decorating my placeβyou should come over sometime, by the wayβi stopped ordering so much? but i get a lot of groceries delivered ...."
she had been sidetracked enough that she hadn't be able to continue thinking of possibilities, so when they arrive, her eyes go huge and round. "wait! the vr??" she reaches o\ujt to grab milan's wrist excitedly, jumping up and down.
"i've been wanting to try this but i never had the chance!"
EVENT: NOVA MISSION 013 POST TYPE: STARTER FOR @lgcsomin TITLE:Β SHOOTERS
milan hadn't been able to stop smiling since shinye, nova's manager, and her had picked up somin. what's better than hanging out with friends? being paid to hang out with friends! well, the pay isn't exactly forthright in their field, but still.
she had long thought about what could bridge the gap between her interests (anything that she can channel her energy into) and somin's (mainly gaming). the answer was why they found themselves at co/ex mall today. "so... want to venture a guess as to what we're going to do?" she asks the crystallis member playfully. she was Γ΄ so proud of the activity she had picked; a VR gaming zombie shooter. that's why she had kept somin in the dark as to where and what they were doing; she wanted to capture the other girl's genuine reaction upon finding out
"i ... have no idea," she says, eyes darting around the area they had been dropped off in. she had been to co-ex a few times, but never on her own or for fun. they had filmed some stuff here before, as well as being near lotte world where she's definitely gone, but she has no idea what milan might have in store for them today.
somin lets a grin slip onto her lips, not feeling apprehensive of the plans at all. she's adaptable and will easily fall into step with anything, so she's mostly just excited to be hanging out with milan for a show. they haven't hung out much, if at all, since they met on the lgc girls show, so she's excited to do soβeven if they're being filmed for it. "i'm assuming it's not shopping though?"
their July comeback was only a few weeks away and practice had become more focused on their Japanese comeback. and sarang was still on her mission to get more familiar with her members. after practice, she had asked around and somin was the lucky member that got to hang out with her. "honestly, i think these stalls are best at night." they had just grabbed a table, smoke and steam surrounding them but it was a comfort for sarang. something grounded, the place wasn't that busy, with just the right noise level. it wasn't loud enough that she had to shout at somin for the other to hear but it wasn't pin-drop quiet where she felt she had to be careful about every single word.
their orders were placed and now it was just the waiting game and while it was normal for a bottle of soju, she opted for a coke. "between the two, for our Japanese comebackβ¦which of the two tracks do you like more?" a simple conversation starter. "i liked the little track right off the bat but dive has been a slow earworm, I've been listening to it more."
@lgcsomin
"oh for sure," somin agrees easily, considering that she's also pretty sure a lot of the stalls only opened once it started to get dark out. but she's not bothering to say anything about that, mostly just waiting for her order of ddeokbokki to come, as she sips on the broth of the fish cakes she had just taken a bite of.
she also opts for a cola instead of alcohol, not wanting to deal with that tomorrow morning when it inevitably hits that she had had alcohol the night before, especially not when they have practice again.
she blinks at the question, mid-chew and she lets out a hum to show that she had heard the question and needed to think about her answer for a moment. "i like both songs, honestly," she says after a moment, finishing off the skewer and shrugging a bit, even now still in thought about the question. "i usually like the song right away, or it takes a bit to grow on me," she explains, reaching out to take another fishcake skewer and blowing on it. "so i always end up liking the song even if i hadn't liked it originally, you know?"
somin does have a point, yura muses. despite them living together since debut, they all still had their own preferences when it came to how they lived and would decorate their own spaces. yura, for example, would most definitely have a more plainer-looking home than some of the more creative members and those interested in decorating and stuff. all she really needed or wanted was a comfy and cozy place to rest and sleep since she usually didn't feel like doing anything once she returned after a schedule, and on days off, she would probably go out anyways so it's not like she would be spending a lot of time at home.
"i'm 100% not surprised you upgraded your computer set up now that you have your own space for it," she laughs as she plops down on the couch herself and makes herself comfortable. "no longer are you stuck to a small corner in the living room anymore!" yura was happy for somin though, knowing the other had to make sure she stayed quiet if she was gaming at night when everyone else was trying to rest or sleep. now, she didn't have to worry about others - although yura does worry a little how much sleep somin loses out on from staying up.
"i realized after i wasn't sure what colours and stuff you'd want for the blanket and pillows... so i just picked something soft," she admits, a bit sheepish, as she watches somin lay out what she brought already. at least she had enough foresight to pick a more neutral colour so it hopefully wouldn't clash with anything else.
"but of course i'd gift a gift for our somin!! i figured you wouldn't say no to more blankets and pillows anyways even if you did already get some yourself - but i'm glad i gave you something you didn't have yet." and she meant that genuinely since yura was always nervous picking out gifts for others; she'd hate it if the other person didn't like what she got them or ended up having no use for it. "did you need anything else actually? we can go out shopping if you'd like?"
"i had to!" somin giggles, unsurprised that yura had seen that she had fully upgraded and optimized her gaming area. considering that the older girl had caught her at 4am once trying to rank up in valorant, she thinks it's a little funny that she noticed. "i still soundproofed the walls though, to make sure that no one would hear me raging," she adds, glancing over at the soundproofing boards she had put up around her computer area. hopefully it would work. she hadn't gotten any complaints so far.
sometimes she thinks that she would have tried to become a progamer if she hadn't gone the path of being an idol, but honestly, she's really happy where she is in crystallis.
"no, it's really great," she reassures the older girl, hugging the blanket to her chest happily and rubbing her cheek against it. a bit overkill, probably, but she really is truly happy with the gift. she hadn't thought about how to decorate her couch yet, and this took all the decision making out of it. which was great, considering she kept suffering from decision paralysis when she was trying to order things for her apartment. how did one choose when there were so many options?
"ooooooo," she pauses, thinking about it and she nods. "actually, if you don't mind, i would love to grab more things," she says, tapping a finger against her chin in thought. "i need more basic spices at least ... if we can go to the supermarket ... get some groceries and maybe some more throw pillows ... and i'll make us dinner when we get back?" she offers, even though yura had been the one to suggest the outing first.
Ryujin Courreges FW24 Paris
βan act of goodwill,β lili says rather than what it actually is β a peace offering β in the off chance that in the future ( or very, very near present ) that lili somehow steps on some toes. ( it wasnβt a matter of if but when, really ) βor at least thatβs what i googled last night when i was trying to come up with things to give everyone.β
it was either this or alcohol but unlike those who cried that it was happy hour somewhere, lili liked to keep drinking alcoholic beverages to after the sun went down.
βis this okay? if not, i can totally come back tomorrow with something better.β and possibly write a scathing review on that forum post she had clicked a few hours before for putting such a bad idea into liliβs head.
"oh, the korean tradition for giving ddeok as a housewarming gift?" she asks, looking too amused about the fact that she's pretty sure it's supposed to be a completely different ddeok, but honestly? somin is not mad about receiving ddeokbokki instead of something sweet. she doesn't mind sweet things, but she also absolutely loves savoury things.
instead of saying anything, she pulls out the little table in her eating area and moves to close the door behind lili once the other girl is inside her apartment. "no, no, this is great actually," she says, clapping her hands together, feeling absolutely pleased with how her day was going.
"do you like spicy food?" she asks, bustling around to get little dishes to eat with and also two pairs of chopsticksβwhether lili liked it or not, they were eating this together now! "i won't say no to more food though," she adds, teasing.
every month, every comeback or new last, sarang felt like she was growing closer and closer to her group-mates. she wasn't as nervous being around them, when she wanted to ask for help, she started to feel less and less like a burden. and she owed it to things like this, simply hanging out together. "i shouldn't be here too long." sarang was getting prepped to leave the dorm, she wanted to go to the one of the clothing markets. on her way out, she asked somin if she wanted to come along and the other actually said yes.
"i'm planning on buying some clothes to work on my sewing." and there was a lot she could get for cheap. "at the other end of the, there is this little stationary store i like to shop at for my scrap-booking." sarang forced herself to slow down, feeling like her words were heading into rambling territory. "and i always end get from this little stallβ¦if they're around today. they're not always open but i always go and look."
@lgcsomin
"i haven't been to a market in ages," she comments, pleased that she had been invited along for this little outing. usually, despite veering more towards being an extrovert than an introvert most days, she would opt to stay in to catch up on her gaming. she doesn't get to do very much during their busiest months, so she usually tries to play when she has time off but she would never say no to going out if it's with a friend. she waves off sarang's words of being quick, wanting both to let the other crystallis member take her time and also look around herself.
somin nods as they walks along, pausing to touch a shirt or something every once and a while, pleased. she hadn't really had any plans to buy anything when she had been first invited, but the possibility of her walking away with nothing is diminishing every second they walk. "oh, i love stationary," she says, nodding and clapping her hands together. "i don't use any, really, since we're like mostly digital right? but i love stickers a lot."
"imagine me being late," yura replies without missing a beat, a raise of a brow and a slight smirk on her face as she lets herself into somin's place. despite her words, they hadn't really decided on an exact time for her to show up - she just waited for the other to tell her she could come over so they picked a day they both had free for a bit and then she just, well, appeared.
(it probably helps that they still lived in the same building so it wasn't exactly a trek to go from their own apartment to another member's.)
"we all have the same floor plan after all," she laughs and shakes her head. since entering, yura had made sure to hide what she was holding in her hands behind her back until somin mentions a housewarming gift. tilting her head, she puts on an expression as if she doesn't know what the younger is talking about. "was i supposed to? i thought since we were all moving into our own rooms, we didn't need to..."
yura looks around somin's apartment then walks over to the couch before finally pulling out what she had brought: a basket filled with random things she thought the other might like but not have in her apartment yet (or wouldn't mind more of) including a throw pillow and blanket set, some display and organization trinkets for her to store things, and other small stuff.
admittedly, yura was still not great at picking out gifts for others but she likes to believe that her being with somin long enough has given her some insight into what the other might want.
"kidding~ i hope you actually find some use for this stuff," she smiles while making a big show of placing the basket onto the table. "i stuck some gift cards in there for you to buy games or other stuff you might've forgotten too, just in case!"
"that's true, but i feel like we've all done something completely different with our places," she comments, knowing for a fact that she was probably the only one out of all the members to set up an entire gaming pc in the corner of the apartment. it's also her absolute pride and joy and she couldn't have been happier when the pc turned on on her first try.
she'll definitely be bragging about that in future lives or something.
"waaaait, i was joking," she replies, eyes wide as she sees that yura had actually gotten her a housewarming gift. she had done the same for the older girl though, and all their members, but she hadn't actually meant it when she had asked. she laughs, accepting the basket and immediately going through it after sitting down, patting the couch next to her.
somin grins at the sights of the blanket and pillow, immediately taking them out of the basket and taking the tags off of them, laying them onto the couch. "these are perfect!" she exclaims, way too happy about it. "i haven't even looked at throw blankets yet. you're a mindreader, unnie, i swear."
βΒ Β Β Β RICE TO THE λ‘
lili didnβt always do this. if anything, she was hardly the ideal neighbor but hey, new year, new her, right?Β
( it did not matter that it was nearly may and the year was rolling on past her heels but whatever, the case there is β the new year was still upon her and she was making a change for the better! god, this optimism was going to be the death of her, wasnβt it )Β
anyways, lili didnβt always do this β so, because she didnβt, she didnβt know that buying rice cakes for your neighbor to foster harmony and neighborly bonding did not mean the rice cakes you got at the corner stall that was immensely packed with a spicy, sweet and savory sauce of korean chili paste and flakes. but this is what she came to deliver @lgcsomin when she came strolling past one day, the heat filtering from the plastic bag onto liliβs fingertips were making her skin sweat β ugh. switching the bag to the other hand, she wipes her palm against the back of her jeans before knocking, humming to herself as waits to make herself known.
and once the door opens, sheβs practically shoving the heated plastic into the other girlβs face in welcome, βhello neighbor!β
when she gets a knock on her door in the middle of her gaming session, she doesn't realize it's her actual apartment door for a moment. she ignores it, but call it what you will, there's something telling her that she should check. tugging her headphones off of her head and letting them settle around her neckβhonestly it's a miracle that she had heard anything at all, and also that she's not playing an fps right nowβshe gets up and heads over to the door, peeking out the peephole and startling a little when she realizes it's the newest addition to crystallis.
she glances down to make sure she's decent, adjusting the hoodie she was wearing before she opens the door, a little surprised.
but she doesn't even manage to say anything before something warm is thrust into her face. something warm and spicy she amends, sniffing the air and trying to peek inside the bag.
"is this ddeokbokki?" somin asks, a bit incredulous and a bit confused, stepping back and indicating for lili to step inside her apartment. "waitβis this like, a neighbour thing?" she asks, amused as she sets it on the counter and starts rifling through her drawers for some plates and chopsticks.

βdragon ball fusion move?β eunhye repeated before trying to imagine in her mind the move based on the short snippets sheβs seen of the show. βis that the one with the mirror movements? you know, the one where the index fingers are supposed to touch each other?β she questioned as she tried to pose the way she remembered seeing it for a brief moment. βi think the fans would love it since itβs not everyday that you get to see an idol do a pose from a popular series! i would have loved it too if my bias did a pose from a show or game that i really liked.β she laughed while thinking about the poses some of her favorite idols have done before.Β
βif someone posed like they were eating a burger, iβd think that would be a subtle way of trying to get fast food places to hire them as a model.β eunhye joked, although she wouldnβt mind recreating such a pose for valentineβs day if she had no other option. βwith so many idols creating their own variations of the heart pose, i wonder if thereβs one that no one has thought of yetβ¦β she trailed off as she glanced at her hands to think of possible heart poses she could do. but as she tried to form a heart with her fingers, she would always resort back to the apple heart, which still remains her favorite heart pose.
βbut the more i think about this, the more i wonder how our sunbaes have gone through taking so many photos. i would think that after doing this for so many years that you would have run out of possible poses to do.β she reasoned out loud, thinking of another idea that had popped in her mind. βdo you think it could work if i mimicked one of the poses from focus? after all, it is the song included with this event.β
"yes exactly!" she says excitedly when eunhye gets it right, resisting the urge to do it herself but laughing when she sees that the other girl had moved to mimic the move. "i just thought it was funny, and the fans seemed to like it when i was lurking on twitter to see if anyone had done my photostrip," she says, grinning. it was a memorable time, back in her early days in crystallis and she had enjoyed the reactions that alize gave too.
she makes a face at the thought of trying to create a new heart pose. "all the ones i could think of are created already," she says, pursing her lips into a slight pout as she thinks about it. she thinks she might run the risk of being someone who created something that was already created. "i do really like the cheek heart though."
"right? even like, just for photoshoots or album pictures," somin agrees wholeheartedly. she wonders if that might be one of the reasons that she doesn't really want to become a model. though, she's enjoyed every photoshoot she's done. it's a whole thing, truly.
nodding though, she thinks that's probably a safe bet. "i think that's a good idea though, especially if you did the point dance?" she asks, nodding as she considers the pros and cons. "i mean, then it's unlikely you'll ever repeat this for another photostrip right?"
sarang agreed, even if she couldn't be an idol, she had the chance to work in the industry. a degree to back up her skills was the cherry on top. when the topic turned to their music, sarang thought about it. well, how to phrase it. crystallis sound wasn't one she leaned towards wanting to perform. those had been thoughts she kept to herself. in the end debuting was what she wanted.
the music wasn't bad either, just not her taste. if sarang had to confine the question to just this album, "i think they're good but i have to say that imaginary friend is my absolute favorite." it was moody and haunting in just the right way.
"i knew as soon as we heard it that i'd fall in love with it." and it was honest, the song leaned more to her style so it was natural there was a genuine appreciation for it. '"what about you?"
"yeah, i love that song to," somin agrees immediately. it seemed that she and sarang had a similar music tasteβat least when it came to crystallis' songs.
unbeknownst to her, their thoughts were also matching. somin was thinking about how crystallis hadn't been her ideal concept for debut, but she accepted it, having wanted to debut more than wanting to debut in a group with a concept she liked. and she's learned to really embrace crystallis' princess concept, mostly because she liked how the fans reacted when she acted like her real self instead of her stage persona. that was always a lot of fun.
"i like this album though," she adds, thinking about it again, since they were on set obviously. "i think i like the songs a lot more this time, even though i've ended up liking all the other albums eventually too!"
somin's shocked threw her off for just a moment. honestly it made sarang want chuckle a bit but a large smile appeared. "yep, just recently finished and i've started to take other classes." for the most part she just liked learning, that made college a bit easier. sarang hadn't realized that fact was so unknown but thinking about it now that made sense. she wasn't an open person and it wasn't information that she'd randomly drop.
to answer her group-mate's question though, "my main dream was always to become an idol. but i also wanted to go to school for something. acting allows me to have the same feeling as an idol." when she was performing she wasn't just sarang, she was free. with acting she could become someone else.
"that being said, if i hadn't made it into a debut group this time around, i was going to consider...giving up." so, the fact that she waited just a bit longer made all the difference."
"that makes sense," somin says, agreeing wholeheartedly. she was on the same path, kind of. her dream had also always been to be an idol, where her love of dance could translate into something more tangible than just settling for being a backup dancer. though she had no qualms of using that as a backup plan had she not managed to debut within a certain amount of time.
she nods, thinking about how she would also have persued something different if she hadn't ended up here, on the filming set for their new music video. it's such a fun time, and she feels happy that sarang had come to join them for it too.
"do you like the songs?" she asks, curious about the other girl's opinion. she tends to ask yura these things, but decided that she should reach out more to the other members too.
/ personalized set with moon somin
it hadn't been that long but one debut cycle was enough to help sarang ease her nerves when it came to their comeback. the hours, the amount of work put in but when they got to the set today, there was some bubbly excitement. something that could be visibly seen as they got into their hair and make up. it wasn't until they got to set and a little free time to roam until their scenes that sarang finally made an attempt to speak. to be honest, she hadn't had any troubles with the others. everyone had been welcoming, they didn't make her feel like a burden. the thought the plagued her mind when it was announced.
but she also knew she wouldn't be able to have deeper relationships if she didn't try herself.
so it was somin she had tried her luck with. the other girl had one of the props in her hand, waiting for her own call to scene when sarang turned to her. "i'm excited about filming, it feels like my acting degree is worth a little more now." that she was wanted acting to be her main goal but it was a skill set she could bring. "it gives me a bit of confidence, how do you feel about the music video concept?"
@lgcsomin
somin is always excited when it comes to comeback season. even just comeback prep season was exciting for her, and she's sure that her members are probably tired of her endless energy within the group. or maybe they like it, and she energizes them too?
or something. who knows, truly.
"you have a whole acting degree?" somin asks, surprised, and she's sure it shows across her face. it wasn't that she didn't try to get to know the new members when they were added, but this wasn't something she had expected to learn on set today. she blinks at the other crystallis member, eyes wide.
"no offence, but how come you decided to stay in the idol path instead of switching to acting?" she asks, genuinely curious and having entirely forgotten what she had been doing before this conversation happened.
eunhye has noticed recently that photobooth collaborations were starting to become a trend. whenever she saw those kinds of collaborations, a part of her imagined that the visuals of the group would shine the best at them since they would know the best and cutest poses. after checking herself on the mirror and trying out the various heart poses she could think of on top of her mind, eunhye decides to take a brief break from that the second she spotted a familiar person.
βoh! somin, hi!β she waved, excited to see somin. βhonestly, noβ¦ but i wish i did know. i was thinking that i should see what the other girls were doing to get some inspiration or do something trendy, but for once, iβm blanking out on ideas. iβm this close to improvising on the spot and hoping it looks fine.β she admitted, feeling a bit embarrassed afterwards that she didnβt check online a few days prior. while she could go with the poses she normally did for gigs similar to this, eunhye felt that she wanted to do something different.Β
βhow about you?β she returned the question, wondering if somin had some ideas in mind or wouldnβt mind helping her think of some poses she hadnβt tried yet.
"i always improvise on the spot," somin admits, a sheepish laugh coming from her but she's not really that ashamed of that. her shots usually turn out fine, even if she's just coming up with them as the photographer directs her to where she stands.
"last time i did that dragon ball fusion move, and the fans loved it even if i thought it was kinda crazy," she adds, grinning as she remembers looking up her hashtag online and seeing the pictures that people were doing with her poses. it was a fun time, and she wonders if she should come up with something wild again to see how her fans would pose accordingly.
it had been a good time last time.
"i saw someone do a pose like they were eating a burger once and the fans went kind of wild with it," she says, remembering seeing it go viral as fans brought in random foods to feed said idol. "i always want to do some typical, expected ones, and then add a random one for some variety, you know?" she pauses, thinking if she should elaborate on that. "like, cheek hearts, or cheek pokes, and then something super out of pocket like ... biting them. or something."
she's not sure if she's helping give eunhye ideas, but maybe it would inspire the older girl somehow.
