β modeling contracts q2-q4 / nintendo interview !!
β yura films an interview for nintendo to use in promotions.
although yura had a stint with mobile games during her trainee days, she learned quickly that there was little time to indulge in them as much as before the more her schedule became more full. even if there was free time, she'd spend it wanting to do something else like meeting up with friends she hadn't seen in a while, going out for other activities she wanted to do more, or just to simply relax and catch up on lost sleep. very rarely did she find herself reaching for her phone with the intention to play games, and she didn't own any consoles either so there was little opportunity to game unless someone else dragged her along to play with them.
that's why she was shocked when she found out she was chosen for a contract with nintendo among all the other possible lgc artists they had to pick from; surely, there was someone who was better suited for this than she was, a known non-gamer? not that she wasn't thankful for the offer, obviously - nintendo is a big deal and anyone turning it down was an idiot, which yura is not so she gratefully signed the deal and started slowly preparing for whatever they were going to throw at her.
it's through her random searches and internet dives that she realizes nintendo might actually be a better match with her than she thought; nintendo was a very versatile company with games and consoles for all ages, all gamer types from beginners to veterans, and even an emphasis on providing options for families to play together which meant there was a low entry barrier to play their games. and with how popular and big nintendo is, it was pretty likely you knew someone who had one of their consoles you could play with if you didn't have your own. knowing this, yura felt a bit more accepting of the contract and a determination to carry it out well-- and this interview was no exception.
βif you could live in any nintendo world, which one would you choose?β / 88 wc
"i always thought this but i think it'd be fun to live in the world of pokemon! it's just like our regular lives we know now, but with the addition of pokemon at your side, right? you can run into them anywhere you go too--even the wild--and there's lots of different jobs and paths you can take too. i could still be an idol or performer even in the world of pokemon but i'd get to do it with a cute partner pokemon - isn't that ideal?"
βwhat do you enjoy most about playing on the nintendo switch 2?β / 119 wc
"i like how portable it is! that's one of the best features of the switch 2 in my opinion because it's so easy to take it with you like to a friend's house or even on a trip. i take it with me when i visit my family too because my brother also likes playing it, and with there being so few parts to carry, it's easy to pack and put back together. it's also cool how you can also play it in different modes, like i can play it with the screen in my hands or attach it the system to a tv and use that as the screen instead so i can play games with more people!"
βwhat makes nintendo games stand out?β / 101 wc
"hmm... the variety? i was looking through the e-shop out of curiousity and saw so many games of different types, genres, everything! there's probably a game for every kind of person to like, and everything from games with a wider appeal to different ages to games with a more specific appeal. i think it's nice how there's something for everyone, like how there's also lots of options for solo players or people who want to play with others! even someone like me who's not super interested in games can find something i enjoy which i think is part of nintendo's charm!"
βhow does gaming fit into your daily schedule, especially with a busy schedule?β / 191 wc
"truthfully, i used to only be able to play mobile games before and eventually had to stop because i didn't have the time to play anymore, or had other things to do... but since trying out the switch and getting one for myself, i've started playing games more because it's just so convenient to use during breaks or commutes! like one day, i noticed that it's so easy to pause during games and pick up where you left off? if i was playing in between schedules like in our van on the way to the next schedule or waiting backstage, i don't have to worry about being interrupted since the switch makes it easy to pause the game then when you get back to it, you pick up right where you left off so that makes gaming on the go much easier since it's so flexible! of course, i play it at home on days off or when i have some free time throughout the day too but i truly appreciate how the switch makes it easy to fit some gaming into my day even if i have a busy schedule."
β modeling contracts q2-q4 / nintendo livestream recap !!
β yura plays through the beginning of pokemon pokopia.
she started the livestream off quite nervous for once, worried that she might make a mistake since she doesn't play games normally but obviously wanted to show she was having fun playing since this was all supposed to be promotion for the game and console to convince others to buy the products themselves; yura probably looked a bit stiff at the beginning and was super focused on the first tutorial guides while making brief comments like the game was cute and laughing at the silly dialogue
once she started experiencing the game more and the game gave her longer periods to do what she wanted without needing to closely follow the tutorial, she began to get a hang of the game and started to visibly relax; she was also able to be more proactive with reading comments and responding finally, although she did make sure to reply to a few comments initially too - just not as much as she did at this point
she would ask the viewers questions randomly like how to do something or for someone to remind her what she was supposed to be doing, trying to include viewers into playing the game as well since she wasn't that confident with doing everything her own. even though the game was similar to animal crossing which she did play once in a while, there were still enough differences that she still needed help; yura would also ask for opinions when choosing between items and gifts or how to build/decorate something
in return, fans watching the stream would ask yura about her opinions on the game and pokemon-related questions since it wasn't often that she would talk about stuff like this. when asked what her favourite pokemon was, yura stalled for a bit while trying to remember some, then decided to ask if there were any rabbit-like pokemon or pokemon that reminded the fans of herself instead; fans claimed that squirtle was similar to yura, to which she found hilarious but accepted it coolly since her fans chose it for her (which she said as much too)
afterwards, she eventually settled on saying she liked eevee because it's super cute and she liked how it can evolve into different types depending on how you raise it or what you give it, which she thinks is kind of similar to how they as idols try different concepts and songs over their career; fans laughed at how she somehow managed to relate pokemon back to her main job, calling her a "true idol" which yura acted proud about, saying stuff like "of course i am! i'll be an idol as long as i can!"
ultimately, her little town (or at least the parts she got to during the allotted time to stream the game) ended up unsurprisingly un-cohesive and not aesthetic not only due to lack of time but also because she was just not great at designing or decorating (which some comments did poke fun at and yura defended herself saying they should know she's not great at stuff like this but she'll do her best to make something nicer the next time she plays)
yura had decided beforehand to focus more on showing off the game mechanics and what you could do with more time and a vision, since her goal of the stream was to show how easy and approachable the game was both to beginners and those more experienced or familiar with these games
she concluded the stream with a summary of her thoughts on the game so far saying things like how fun it was even though she mostly only did tutorials, that all the pokemon she encountered were cute and even ones she didn't know about or didn't care much for before ended up becoming endearing to her, and that she actually feels like she'll want to play this more in her free time then encouraged fans and viewers to try the game out too if they're able to, especially if they like pokemon and/or animal crossing already
for once, yura doesn't feel that out of place when it comes to the nintendo contract. at first, she definitely did as she very rarely played games unless dragged into it (read: by somin) but since trying out animal crossing before, she's played a bit more over time. granted, it still wasn't much since she only had time if she wasn't busy and she had to be in the mood to play too but it was a cute, relaxing game to wind down with. however, that was enough for her to not dread showing up to promotional filming for the switch 2 and a new game though which she'll take as a win - even if she doesn't really know what's going on completely yet.
"hm?" she lets out a hum, turning her eyes away from the papers she was looking at that outlined what they would be filming today and all that. spotting sori, yura's face brightens and she smiles. "oh, hi! it's been a while huh?" her smile widens and she makes room for the other to join her in the chairs that were set up for resting. "um, it looks like it's just recently released so i haven't had a chance to play it, no," she admits, a bit sheepish, before her voice turns uncertain as she tries to recall the details she had gathered today. "from what i've heard and read though, it's kind of like animal crossing and pokemon combined? so it sounds cute! at least for the photoshoot and cf, we probably don't need to be that knowledgeable about the game though... right?"
sori wasnβt particularly knowledgeable about nintendo games, while sheβd played mario kart with eunhye before and briefly played animal crossing, thatβs as much as she knows. it does feel a bit weird modeling for someone sheβs soβ¦ unfamiliar? unknowledgeable? about. but sori had modelled for things before, things she didnβt know that much about, so it couldnβt be too hard, right? she knows her dad is jealous of her because of this gig, heβs a big and famous model, yet she gets to model for nintendo before him, and sheβs not even really a model.
βit sure has been a while.. itβs not much we get to see each other as busy idolsβ she shrugs. sori generally sucks at reaching out to people, sheβs often too tired after practice to spend time with anyone, but her members. she does want to interact more with other people, it just, doesnβt really happen? βseems like you know as much about the game as me thenβ she hums. βyouβre probably rightβ¦ weβre just modeling, i donβt think theyβll turn it into a game show about who knows most about the gameβ she giggles. βitβs not my first time modeling for nintendo, but it still feels weird iβm modeling for such a big brandβ.
"true... it really is hard to find time to catch up or even say hi, when everyone's schedules are all over the place and different from each other," yura agrees with a slow, almost sagely nod. whenever she recalls her trainee and early debut days, it's with slight regret because it was so much easier to see her friends back then that maybe she should've taken advantage of that more since everyone has gotten so much busier these days and even when they weren't, breaks just never lined up properly. she doesn't regret all the times she holed up in the practice room or anything though; yura just wonders sometimes if she could've struck a better balance. at least, now she knows better and tries to make time for those she actually wants to see when she has the chance to so she won't have regrets later.
"yeah, i've only read over the information documents i got from my manager so i only know the basics and not much else," she admits with a laugh, then shrugs. it's not like they need to give a full breakdown or playthrough of the game right today anyways since they were just shooting the photos and commercials only right now. all she had to do was pretend like she knew what she was doing and make it look fun.
"i know right? i can't believe they managed to land a contract with nintendo, even now. i didn't really play video games much before but since this deal began, i started playing more so i guess their promotion strategy is working not just on fans but even us," yura jokes.
one some level sarang heard yura's words about walking around and she blindly nodded, her mind focused on what was to come. she did stop at the warning, "normally, i'm a bit more careful but....." she trailed off, when it came to one piece. sarang couldn't find a way to help herself.
sarang turned her attention back to the menu, scanning for something yura might be interested in. "i think this might work." it looked like it would be a bit more of yura's taste but she'd planned on giving more options. "and this! don't worry about not finishing it, everything is one me today." just as she spoke, a staff member made their way over. sarang wasted no time in listing everything she wanted. she wasn't sure if she would finish it herself but she wasn't sure when she'd have the chance again. "at least two these i've had at one piece cafe back home so i want to compare." the staff member also left a buzzer with them, it'd light up once the order was ready.
that only meant one thing, it was time to explore the cafe. this time she focused on not rushing, forcing herself to walk at a moderate pace with yura by her side. "if you see me buying six of something, please...stop me. i might not be able to stop myself."
since this outing was more for sarang than herself, yura had decided in advance that she would go along with whatever the other wanted since there wasn't much she would say no to doing anyways. a look over the menu told her that there wasn't anything weird and mostly everything was themed to the series and characters so even if what they ordered was average at best, as long as it wasn't outright inedible then she could eat anything. plus, weren't these themed cafes more for the experience and seeing something you liked plastered on everything anyways?
so yura just nods at the items sarang points out because honestly, nothing looked bad and as long as there was some kind of dessert then she would be happy. she lets sarang order for them then once they're given the buzzer for when their order was ready, gets up to follow the other around the place. hearing what sarang says makes yura laugh and shrug innocently. "well, it's not like we can visit here every day so you should buy what you can while you have the chance to," she replies with a playful grin. "it's good to be responsible with your money but it's also okay to splurge if it's something you really want!"
as they walk around, yura takes the chance to look around at their surroundings more closely, having only slid past everything when they first got here when a thought enters her mind. "since you're paying for our meal, i'll buy you something you want here! don't they have some stuff limited to this cafe or something?" she asks curiously, knowing these kinds of shops have things you can only get at that location. of course, she doesn't know what that might be but figures sarang might be interested.
lili nods, slowly digesting the information being fed to her β being in a group was different than existing as an individual. she wasnβt used to working in a group setting β sure, evaluations may have been paired here and there but for as long as sheβs known, she had always been looking out for lili, now there were three other girls she had to be concerned for, too. not that she wanted all that on her shoulders but it was a start β didnβt that go hand-in-hand with if one falls down, we all fall down with you? and lili was not ready to fall, not when she had just begun to rise. βhm, so itβs more girl-girl intuition, gotcha.β and as a person who prided herself on her keen sense of observation, lili was all eyes on her co-workers, acquaintances, members? hm, she would need to work on how she was going to file them in her lifeβs mission.Β
βoh no, youβre so right β iβll just go up to them and,β she mimics a handshake and laughs, βlike yes, hi iβm lili β new crystallis member and oh, are you dating someone?β she jokes β though, in another world, lili wasnβt opposed to being straight forward with such scenarios. she was on the opposite side of the fence where knowing too much was better than knowing too little and fucking up β all because lili knew how to keep her lips sealed. βkidding! iβm sure itβll come in time, i donβt want to force the connection.βΒ it all takes time and lili was here for the long-haul.
yura blinks, caught off guard by the other's joking at first because of the sheer ridiculous-ness of the picture being painted in her mind, before bursting out into laughter. "you should say that to somin actually, i want to see her reaction; she would be so confused," she grins, still giggling while saying this and imagining the scenario in her head before shaking her head.
"anyways, there aren't really any rules in the group!" yura adds on with another shrug. "just use your common sense, do your work well, don't cause trouble that would tank our careers - you know, the usual stuff! we're a group so anything we do affects the rest in some way." she pauses then lets out another laugh. "well, i guess those are kind of rules but you get what i mean! what you do on your own time is your choice but we all want to succeed so since we're in this together, why not help each other out, right?"
yura, fearing she might be veering off into some kind of lecture or nagging, decides to stop herself there and grins. "now, did you have anything else you wanted to know about? you'll probably figure things out as you go along but if you need anything, just ask anytime!"
[#YURA πΉ] how our are alize doing today? hopefully the weather is good where you are!! thanks to your support, crystallis were able to finish icarus promotions safely π€ did you enjoy our new music? i was personally very excited to show you my first solo song this album so i hope alize really like it! it would make me happy if you did βΊοΈ after this... whatβs next? youβll see soon π€ make sure to stay healthy until we meet next and look after yourself and your loved ones!!!Β
"that's true, but i feel like we've all done something completely different with our places," she comments, knowing for a fact that she was probably the only one out of all the members to set up an entire gaming pc in the corner of the apartment. it's also her absolute pride and joy and she couldn't have been happier when the pc turned on on her first try.
she'll definitely be bragging about that in future lives or something.
"waaaait, i was joking," she replies, eyes wide as she sees that yura had actually gotten her a housewarming gift. she had done the same for the older girl though, and all their members, but she hadn't actually meant it when she had asked. she laughs, accepting the basket and immediately going through it after sitting down, patting the couch next to her.
somin grins at the sights of the blanket and pillow, immediately taking them out of the basket and taking the tags off of them, laying them onto the couch. "these are perfect!" she exclaims, way too happy about it. "i haven't even looked at throw blankets yet. you're a mindreader, unnie, i swear."
somin does have a point, yura muses. despite them living together since debut, they all still had their own preferences when it came to how they lived and would decorate their own spaces. yura, for example, would most definitely have a more plainer-looking home than some of the more creative members and those interested in decorating and stuff. all she really needed or wanted was a comfy and cozy place to rest and sleep since she usually didn't feel like doing anything once she returned after a schedule, and on days off, she would probably go out anyways so it's not like she would be spending a lot of time at home.
"i'm 100% not surprised you upgraded your computer set up now that you have your own space for it," she laughs as she plops down on the couch herself and makes herself comfortable. "no longer are you stuck to a small corner in the living room anymore!" yura was happy for somin though, knowing the other had to make sure she stayed quiet if she was gaming at night when everyone else was trying to rest or sleep. now, she didn't have to worry about others - although yura does worry a little how much sleep somin loses out on from staying up.
"i realized after i wasn't sure what colours and stuff you'd want for the blanket and pillows... so i just picked something soft," she admits, a bit sheepish, as she watches somin lay out what she brought already. at least she had enough foresight to pick a more neutral colour so it hopefully wouldn't clash with anything else.
"but of course i'd gift a gift for our somin!! i figured you wouldn't say no to more blankets and pillows anyways even if you did already get some yourself - but i'm glad i gave you something you didn't have yet." and she meant that genuinely since yura was always nervous picking out gifts for others; she'd hate it if the other person didn't like what she got them or ended up having no use for it. "did you need anything else actually? we can go out shopping if you'd like?"
while sori had managed to be an idol for quite a bit of time now, she still felt ratherβ¦ awkward when filming cfs. standing in front of the camera was still not soriβs strongest trait. and while her dad was a successful model, and had countless of times tried to give her advice, sori remained awkward and shy in front of the camera. sheβs sure itβll change somedayβ¦ maybeβ¦ hopefully? but for now, sheβll just attempt her best to get through it.
truthfully, sori didnβt know much about this βpokemon pokopiaβ game they were promoting, which also truthfully, made her even more nervous about filming the commercial. sheβs biting her lip, looking around and soon spots a familiar face. βhey yuraβ she says with a smile, while the two know each other, itβs been a while since they last interacted, but sori is pretty sure sheβll just grow more nervous if sheβs just standing by herself. βthe game weβre filming a cf for, are you familiar with it?β.
for once, yura doesn't feel that out of place when it comes to the nintendo contract. at first, she definitely did as she very rarely played games unless dragged into it (read: by somin) but since trying out animal crossing before, she's played a bit more over time. granted, it still wasn't much since she only had time if she wasn't busy and she had to be in the mood to play too but it was a cute, relaxing game to wind down with. however, that was enough for her to not dread showing up to promotional filming for the switch 2 and a new game though which she'll take as a win - even if she doesn't really know what's going on completely yet.
"from what i've heard and read though, it's kind of like animal crossing and pokemon combined? so it sounds cute! at least for the photoshoot and cf, we probably don't need to be that knowledgeable about the game though... right?"
sarang nodded her head at yura's suggestion, "i also planned to buy a lot so i was worried about that." they could drop it off at hotel but that would mean coming back and she didn't want to make several trips. "but i hope i can get most of it shipped to korea, which would make it easier." they'd be able to figure it out. ""but maybe we can explore the side streets before we go shopping, i brought my camera so i already have the memory part covered.
"but we can see and play it by ear." typically, sarang wasn't the play it by ear type but one piece excitement could do that to her. "i cant wait to see what it taste like and it'll be good to have someone because...i'm pretty sure i'd be tasting everything with biased taste buds." the taxi was waiting and it didn't take too long to get to the cafe by car. the closer they got the more it seemed like sarang was simply vibrating.
so much that she nearly tripped out the car getting out. a minor embarrassment that she didn't pay too much mind too. once they got inside the place sounded lively, the cafe area was much quieter while you could hear the buzz and chatter coming from the small hallway that held the actual store. sarang checked them in, handing a menu over to yura. "we can place our order now and shop, they'll buzz when it's ready."
"true! even if i left space in my suitcase in case i end up buying anything, shipping extra stuff that won't fit is a good idea. i forgot that was an option," she laughs, although part of her wonders just how much shopping they could do with the amount of free time they were given between schedules. that was always a con of coming to japan for work - it already feels like there's never enough time to do everything you want to, what more with jobs and gigs to attend.
yura nods then, agreeing with sarang's words. "after the cafe, let's explore nearby! we'll probably find places to shop as we walk around anyways, and we can walk off whatever we end up eating. i don't think i'm too picky with food so as long as the food isn't terrible, i think we'll manage between the two of us," she grins as they get into the taxi and settle in for the ride.
it was fun, watching sarang get noticeably more excited as they got closer to the cafe that even if yura wasn't in a good mood, the other's energy would've rubbed off on her. she did have a brief worry though when she spots sarang almost trip while getting out of the taxi once they had arrived, her arms shooting out to steady the younger just in case. however, she didn't actually fall down--thankfully--so yura could only let out a sigh of relief, followed by a small laugh and a warning to be careful even if the other is excited.
the one piece cafe and the nearby areas were as busy as yura expected it might be but at least the cafe portion was more chill so she had no complaints, and let sarang handle things. once she has the menu in her hands, she looks over the offerings before turning her attention to sarang. "what are you thinking of getting? we could order different dishes to share but i definitely want to get some kind of dessert... do they have a parfait or something?"
by yuraβs first words, lili wonders if sheβs come to the right place, practically deflating on the spot. that was until yura continues and lili knows sheβs exactly where she needed to be. aside from sarang, lili had her two options: somin or yura β both of whom had been with crystallis through thick and thin β and crystallis has been through some nasty splits but despite them, somin and yura had remained a constant. since yura had opened her door first, lili was happy to pick her brains for some well-needed crystallis tea.
βoh,β an eyebrow raises, almost scandalously. βand these β¦ so-called partners,β she clears her throat, a finger tucking a stray hair behind an ear, βis that a βall members knowβ or is that a βunless you need to knowβ type thing? just so i know which toes i shouldnβt be stepping on.β lili didnβt want to assume but she also was dying to know just who in the group was taken and was otherwise, free to mingle. lili had a lot of friends and she did not mind setting up those who wished to let their wings fly ~
βor is it too soon for me to ask β¦β they hardly knew each other but alas, lili was a nosy little bitch. βwater is fine! and honestly, mumβs the word β scoutβs honor and all that, alibis are practically my middle name.β not that lili breathed white lies but they were a bit of a speciality of hers.
yura smirks, seeing how lili reacts what she said. it was really quite entertaining and while yura wouldn't normally say things like this so readily, now that lili was a crystallis member, she did feel a sense of responsibility to give the new addition advice or tips if asked. that didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun with this though and purposely drew out her silence, deciding not to answer the new questions right away. instead, she took her time grabbing a water bottle and handed it over to the younger.
"it's up to the individual honestly," she finally answers, after setting her own drink down on the little table she had set up next to the couch she managed to fit into the main space of her unit. plopping herself onto one end of it, yura gestures for lili to sit down as well before she continues.
"if anyone ended up dating, they didn't have to tell us who exactly--or even that they were dating at all--but when you're together for most of the day, you begin to notice things about the others and you can't help but wonder or put the hints together. in the end, it's helpful having even just one person know so at least there's someone who could help you out if needed," she laughs then takes a sip of her drink. "especially when we all lived in the same dorm together and had a manager with us, or nearby and they would randomly check up on us, so it'd be easy to notice if someone was missing."
"as for now..." yura trails off for a moment, thinking about the current statuses of the remaining members then shrugs again. it should be fine to say this much since she wasn't really revealing anything potentially scandalous. "i don't think the others are seeing someone right now or at least, not that i know of or noticed."
of course, she didn't reveal her own situation yet but that was mostly because yura was very careful about her relationship (as was her boyfriend, and they both made equal concerted effort to keep it secret, only meeting when they both had free time and no schedules so she didn't really need to inform anyone about going out) and didn't feel it necessary to mention yet. "but you'd probably have to ask them to be sure since it's up to them to share what they want."
lili hated being the new girl β anywhere β sheβs done it countless times in the past: new schools, new friends, new places. new, new, new. and it was all the same thing: an initial awkward, the breaking of the ice, and suddenly everything was like nothing was new at all.
however, lili was also impatience and she didnβt want to go through the whole breaking the ice bit and wait for the greener grass on the other side, she wanted the nothing was new at all part right now! and what better way to get to that and more than to go straight to crystallisβ leader β newly inducted, @lgcyura. fingers gingerly folded almost pleadingly, lashes batting in that way, eyes practically begging for a favor, βokay,β she drawls on slowly, almost obviously, exaggeratingly so. βiβm gonna need you to give it to me straight.β
βwhatβs the 411, the tea, the doβs and the do nots of crystallis. what toes should not be stepped on and what fancies can be tickled, i wonβt pressure you but i will not be leaving your unit until i get at least a few doβs and do notβs.βΒ jeez, lili, take a breath! a thought that comes all too soon after her long winding spiel, wide smile and all.
in a way, yura finds it funny. she wasn't exactly excited to debut in a group at first but she quickly found herself getting used to being okay with that idea starting from lgc girls. by the time crystallis was announced, yura was surprised-but-not that she felt little resistance to debuting in a group then; she was just happy to debut in something permanent at all, not to mention something she could call her own.
thankfully, she ended up liking her would-be members too and at one point, she thought they were the strongest they could be - until they weren't anymore with member leaving after member, sometimes even in twos or threes at once. new members would get added but they'd eventually leave too, to the point that yura wondered if they were cursed. positions changed as well and eventually she ended up as leader - something she didn't think she'd experience after seemingly failing the leadership challenge in future dreams all those years ago.
now, here she is, facing their newest member and being asked something she couldn't have anticipated in this situation, causing her to blink dumbly for a moment before she finally processes what's been said. yura bursts into laughter at lili's words and the way she said them. "well, come in first so we're not having this conversation in the hall," she smiles, amused, and steps aside to let the other enter her unit.
"there's not really any tea as far as i know," she continues (although she does briefly pause, remembering some of the past... tension she's had with some members before, until she remembers they're not here anymore so there's no point bringing it up now). "but i guess i should mention that there's kind of always been a quiet agreement to cover for each other if we ever needed to slip out without the managers knowing, or if any of us had partners and something came up. we help each other out when needed, basically."
yura walks over to her fridge and opens it to see what she had inside in terms of drinks to offer her determined guest, only to find nothing but water. she really needed to do groceries or something. "do you want water? i can order delivery if you're craving anything too, since you came to visit me," she offers with a grin. "it might be easier if you ask me what you want to know instead, honestly. anything you're curious about is fine!"
between kcon and their general promotions in japan, sarang made sure to travel with two extra suite cases. she knew she'd bringing back some rare one piece related finds. there was also another place she wanted to visit and the dates overlapped perfectly. apart of being in a group was naturally bonding with her members, that's how she managed to rope yura into coming to the cafe with her. there was a pop-up cafe, paired with a large store that sarang was sure would host most of her rare finds.
they had just enough down-time to be able to explore without feeling rushed for the day. they had just stepped into the elevator when her let out a small beep, "it looks like our taxi just arrived, i thought walking would be funβ¦but i wasn't sure if it would be safe." she hadn't considered herself famous and well known despite her group. "and we'll need it on the way back." not that sarang had an issue with a little exploring given enough courage and dressing up but she planned on doing some serious shopping.
"and the entire trip is on me, whatever you want." sarang was pretty sure that yura wasn't as die-hard about the one piece series as her but there was the cafe. "i've heard good things about the cafe though." despite how in love she was, sarang really wanted to her best to make sure yura enjoyed herself.
while yura wasn't personally that interested in one piece, there were some people in her life who were so she wasn't actually opposed to visiting the pop-up cafe since she might end up finding gifts to buy for them. plus, sarang was a fan and since she didn't have any plans in particular anyways, she figured tagging along wouldn't hurt; she liked doing things with her group members so this worked out for her.
"walking around the streets of japan is fun honestly, especially in tokyo! there's always something to look at," she laughs as the elevator takes them down to the lobby so they could grab their taxi, before frowning a little. "but during the day like this when it's busiest is too risky. maybe if we find a side street or area that's not as crowded, it'll be fine to explore a bit more? we could even take photos as memories of this trip even if we're here for work!"
it's not long before the elevator lets out a ding, signaling their arrival at their destination, and the doors open to reveal the lobby of the hotel they're staying at this time. "i feel like you keep treating me to meals," she teases as she exits and walks towards the entrance. "but i am interested to try out the food. people tend to say the food at themed cafes and stuff aren't that good but it makes me curious to try myself. plus, i'd like to take a look at the shop and see if there's any gifts to buy - so don't worry!" yura grins and approaches their taxi, opening the door for sarang to slide into the car first. "let's just have fun and see what happens!"
sarang nodded, having set down the food as she looked for extra plates. most of it came in containers anyway but it wouldn't hurt to have extra of anything. "feel free to drink anything you want in the fridge and in that cupboard below are some bottles of water if you wanted something more room temperature." mainly water because other drinks rarely tasted good being lukewarm. "i also have some of those drink infusion packets." endless options on her part.
finally, settled on a stack and reached to grab the bags. "you know, most of the normal staples." sarang wasn't sure of everything yura did and didn't eat, so safe bets were placed. "naengmyeon, kimchi jjigae, kimbap, chicken and bingsoo for something sweet." It might've sounded like a lot but whatever they didn't eat, she could save for later.
"at the very least, i won't have to cook for the rest of the week.
after opening sarang's fridge and taking in her options, yura is amazed at the choices - her own fridge is never as full as the other's but then again, she doesn't really cook either so she's not surprised. truthfully, she mostly uses her fridge to hold snacks and whatever she buys from a convenience or grocery store that's ready made and easy to re-heat or consume with little preparation or actual cooking skills needed. it's not that she can't cook if she tried, she just prefers the ease and convenience of already prepared meals!
"i'll help myself to this fruit drink then~" yura finally settles on a bottle that caught her eye and she hadn't seen before, always having favored fruity flavors and wanting to try it out. if it was good, she'll have to look out for it next time she's shopping. "ooh, you got a whole spread!" she marvels at the sight of all the food containers once they're taken out of the bag and spread across the table. "i was going to ask how we were going to eat this all--" she lets out a laugh. "but i see you've already got it planned out!"
she should really do the same, honestly. yura doesn't think she's got any actual meals or leftovers in her fridge recently besides the side dishes her mom brought over the other day - and she doesn't think snacks or raw ingredients that need to be prepared or cooked in some way count either. that's something for her to worry about later though; right now, she can enjoy some food with sarang first.
"i don't really have anything i dislike and my spice tolerance is average so i can eat everything you ordered! do you have a preference? i'll be sure to leave more of that for you," she grins before suddenly remembering something. "and next time, let me cover the next meal we eat!"
long time no ooc post but here i am to shoot my shot anyways-- so! i realize the deadline is in a week but if there's a chance that someone still needs a thread for the ONEART STUDIO DANCE CONCERT or is able to help out by taking on an extra one, then yura needs two (2) threads with a different muse each! i can start so you only need to write one reply, or if you also need a thread then either one of us can and we'll just write asap so we can both get our 2 replies in :3 whatever the case, i'd appreciate any takers!!
βyou know, so much of our existence gets judged. even the simplest things like making a peace sign pose could get us ripped apart on the internet,β miyu muses, not meaning to turn the conversation somber. she lets out a small chuckle, shaking her head. βsorry, i donβt know where that came from. but even the smallest gestures, we put a lot of thought into it. too much, maybe? so basically what iβm saying is that iβm overthinking it,β she says with another laugh, louder this time.
βthatβs a good idea,β the dancer nods. βi think the fans would like that. a heart seems fun, but do i do a small heart,β miyu poses with a hand curled into half a heart shape. βor a bigger one?β she asks, moving her hand above her head and connecting her fingers to her scalp. βor maybe both? give them options?β she asks.
βthanks for the advice,β she tells yura with a smile.
"it's okay, i know what you mean-- and you're right about that," yura smiles, completely agreeing with the other. even if it seemed like it was brought up out of nowhere, yura wasn't phased by it and didn't mean either. "honestly, even if we put a lot of thought or effort into something so people will be pleased with it, there will always be someone who isn't satisfied. then they'll probably complain about it on the internet to find others who agree with them so they can feel like they're correct and it's not just, you know, their own opinion," she adds on with a shrug before pausing, realizing what just happened, and letting out a laugh. "oops, looks like i went off for a bit too?"
yura grins and sits up straighter. "it's not bad to put a lot of thought into our actions though! we just want to do our best and make as many people happy with what we do, right? that's all it comes down to in the end and i don't think that's something strange. we're idols after all, and i personally always try to give 100% every time, if not more, no matter what i'm doing and i think that's partly why i always struggle coming up with poses to do for these kinds of things-- i want to do what fans would like to see and be excited to respond to."
"sorry, i feel like i just gave a lecture no one asked for," she snorts and shakes her head as if she can't believe she just went on a tangent like that when this entire conversation started with discussing pose ideas. "anyways, i think if you can't decide one just one then doing both hearts would be good! that way they have options and people can try them all like you said. there's lots of hearts you can do these days so i don't think it'd be weird to do different kinds!"
sarang had just finished packing up the major parts of her sewing kit when her phone alerted her that the take-out arrived. "i'll be right back, you can just drop that piece on the couch." the words were barely out of her mouth as slipped on her slippers and made her way out the door. there wasn't any logical reason to rush but sarang hated the feeling of someone waiting on her. once she was back in their dorm, she went right to the kitchen. setting everything down before returning to the living room to clear up the rest. "thank you for being my living mannequin again." truthfully, sarang didn't need a living person to work on her sewing designs it was moreso an attempt to spend more time with her members.
effort had to be put forth on her side and she wanted to do something that was comfortable. it was her luck that yura actually agreed. once the kit was cleaned up sarang opened a larger container, putting the unfinished pieces away to work on later. "and since you helped me out, it's only right that i treat you to a meal." it seemed like a fun process but there was a lot of just being still, "what would you like to drink? i'll grab it while i grab the plates and the food."
while yura would say she hasn't helped someone design clothes before--like this, anyways, where she's used to model the pieces being worked on--she has done enough fittings to be used to standing for periods of time or moving as needed so the designer or stylist can see how the clothes look on a person. however, modeling for a fellow member was a new experience but not one yura finds herself disliking. it's fun, honestly, and it's interesting watching sarang go through the process because it's something yura couldn't do so it was cool watching the other.
"no problem at all, i'm happy to help," she grins once sarang has returned from picking up something, the piece she was just wearing already placed neatly on the couch next to where she was sitting. aside from being the leader now and wanting to ensure sarang was getting used to being in crystallis out of personal responsibility, she would help any of her members at any time if they asked - no matter what it was.
"what'd you get?" yura looks over at the kitchen, wondering what the younger had ordered before she turns back around to look at sarang, eyes perking up and smile growing wider. "really? i'll gratefully accept the free meal then," she laughs then stands up from the couch and stretches her arms out, already moving to head to the kitchen. "i didn't do much though so i can at least help you bring everything here! i want to see what drinks there are anyways."
