▸▸▸ FABULA MISSION 019 : ( MAKE ME YOUR NUMBER ONE ROCKSTAR PT 2 )
eunhye had accumulated a handful of songwriting credits over the past year, and anyone who examined her contributions closely would notice a recurring pattern: she preferred writing lyrics in english. after attending multiple songwriting workshops and noting everything she learned on paper, eunhye viewed the process as a true test of her command of the language — one that challenged her to communicate meaning and emotion across different languages.
at first, the few credits attached to eunhye’s name felt like opportunities to show off her cleverness. she still remembered how proud she was when she had created the line “vitamin d / i’m good, i’m healthy” and the reaction the creative team had when she pitched it to them. back then, eunhye hadn’t expected much since she knew how difficult it was for songwriters (especially idol-songwriters) to have their lyrics be in the final version of the song. but now, every time fabula performed “igloo”, there was a sense of pride and excitement whenever it came to her rap part knowing that it was something she had created.
yet the more eunhye’s name appeared on fabula’s songs, she felt that it became harder to hide behind her witty-one liners. it didn’t help that after a while, the coaches kept asking for more – for more honesty, vulnerability, and something that sounded like her. and with the solo debut on the horizon, eunhye knew that this was her chance to attempt everything she couldn’t do within fabula.
the thought lingered as she sat down to work on the song. after spending time listening to the demo guide, eunhye revisited the earlier drafts she had submitted to the coaches, along with their corrections. the lyrics came easily enough for the idol, but what became the most difficult was preserving the feeling behind them. every time she revised her draft, it forced her to not only consider how the words sounded, but whether the lyrics carried the same hopes she had once held as a trainee. eunhye knew that the grammar and structure could always be adjusted later as long as she captured the emotions first.
‘cause i’m thinking that it’s my time
if i’m gonna do the work then i might as well be first
turning lemons into limelight
i keep on dreaming of the day
when you scream my name
once the english lyrics were written, eunhye found herself staring at the screen for longer than she intended. reading the words back felt like looking at a version of herself she hadn’t seen in years — the trainee who believed that she would debut quickly as long as she worked hard. however, the present eunhye knew better. between the milestones and achievements were the countless moments that never made it into interviews or videos: the setbacks, the doubts, and the days when her confidence plummeted.
her lips formed a smile as she continued writing more lines before ending at one of the lines that her trainee self would have asked the public with such confidence: you’ll love me, love me, right?
﹫fabellebeauty wow!! i think this would make it 5 credits under eunhye's name in almost a year! i wonder if eunhye will only write for fabula in the future? (i hope so… praying for a title track written by her!!)

﹫spring.prince20 let's be real…for someone like eunhye, she's probably too busy to write lyrics about these kinds of topics especially when she can't relate to them either ㅋㅋㅋ

“yeah, a living skeleton!” eunhye nodded her head several times, relieved to know that sori had a better way of describing the character she had chosen. “it is a bit creepy, but somehow i find that a bit endearing about this character. but you’re right though, not as cute as baby mario.” she laughed as she looked at the vehicle choices quickly.
a few seconds passed before eunhye came to the conclusion that she would pick the first one she saw. “the first one! it’s easier for me to pick the first one instead since it’s suited for all players usually.” after choosing their vehicles, eunhye reasoned as she passed through the menu, confirming the choices they agreed on earlier. “i’ve been told that since each part of the kart has different stats, it helps the player when driving. for instance, you could pick a heavy kart to block collisions from another player, but the downside to it is that you tend to move at a much slower speed. or you could pick the fastest kart, but sacrifice getting hit and pushed to the side easily by the heavier kart. those are the things the veteran players think of when choosing their karts.”
after she was done with her explanation, eunhye noticed that it was time for them to start the race. “oh! it’s race time.” she smiled as she shifted her focus back on their screen. “good luck!” eunhye added soon after, excited to see how their first race would turn out.
“ah it seems like there’s a lot to get to know about this game…” she nods her head a bit “i suppose with time i’ll find out which car suits my playing method best” she shrugs “for now i’ll just go with whatever i find cutest though” she chuckles. sori doesn’t exactly expect much from herself, and she’s pretty sure she won’t be good in the beginning, no matter what vehicle she picks. “did you play this growing up?” she looks at eunhye. she would’ve loved to have played this growing up, but they were probably too poor, and then when her dad got money, he left with her brother.
“eh! is it already race time?” sori bites her lip “i don’t even know how to drive… do i press any buttons or do i just drive automatically?” she looks at eunhye with panic in her eyes. “you’re choosing an easy one, right? i think i need to start with an easy one…”. “be prepared to uuh… lose” there’s not exactly much confidence behind sori’s voice, she’s already pretty sure she’ll lose herself.
eunhye shook her head as she admitted, “not really, i didn’t really play video games when i was younger. we couldn’t afford them, but once my oldest brother had his first full-time job, he bought a gaming console for the rest of us. i didn’t play video games as much during that time because of school, training life, or it was at my other brother’s place. it wasn’t until the switch came out that i had my own gaming console and played more.” she remembered the days when she would play various multiplayer games as a way to bond with her siblings. “back then i only played because my siblings always needed another player to join them. it’s the perk of having multiple siblings; you can always ask one of them to be your teammate instead of asking a friend.”
turning towards sori, eunhye briefly explained, “yup, the first one is always the easiest one, while the last one is the hardest. but you press “a” to accelerate and “b” to use the brakes. the left stick lets you turn and “zl” is to use the items. then “zr” should be the drift button!” she knew that there were extra controls and mechanics depending on the controller, but with the race starting, eunhye knew that it was best to give only the basics and hope that sori would understand it after a bit of time.
as soon as the race began, eunhye focused mostly on the screen as she checked every so often what place she was or where she was on the map. “oof– there are three players ahead throwing bananas at each other.” she described as if she was a race commentator. “you might have to be careful of bowser; that player has been using items on other racers.” she suggested right before she saw her kart colliding with a red shell. “...like me.” eunhye chuckled as she tried to recover from the attack.
no matter how many fansigns eunhye attended, she always enjoyed them. some fans were familiar faces she’d seen countless times before, while others were people she barely knew but still wanted to leave with a memorable experience.
as the staff members rearranged the tables and seats, eunhye did her best to juggle her usual leader responsibilities while interacting with the fans around her. with so many people trying to get her attention at once, though, her focus scattered between conversations. because of that, she was surprised when she felt something placed on her head, followed by a familiar voice.
“huh?” eunhye blinked in confusion, wondering what sori had done before her eyes landed on the other’s bunny ears. a laugh slipped out of her immediately. “you’re the cute one!” she protested, pointing at the ears before tugging lightly at the hat on her own head to see that it was a fish hat. “i’m glad that rabbits are herbivores. i don’t want to be eaten by sorikki!” eunhye joked as she scrunched her nose in mock horror.
“i think i’m going to keep calling you sorikki until the fansign ends. it’s cute,” she added with a smile. “it’s a mix of sori and tokki.” even as she spoke, eunhye was already trying to think of ways to help sori feel more comfortable without letting the fans notice anything was wrong. to match the silly mood with her hat, eunhye puffed out her cheeks and puckered her lips into an exaggerated fish impression. turning her body slowly towards sori, she asked, “how would you rate my fish impression?”
fansigns were a weird concept in sori’s head, standing on stage answering questions and interacting with her members, then sitting on a chair to talk to fans, but it was still enjoyable though, sori liked it. she’d never been the most social, always struggled with making friends, so interacting with fans didn’t exactly come natural to her. she still tried her best of course, to smile and happily listen to her fans, because they truly meant the world to her, she just struggled with showing that.
“sorikki?” she repeats, looking up at eunhye with her puppy eyes, “i like it! it’s cute! no guarantee i won’t eat you though…” she playfully hits eunhye while a smile sits on her lips. there’s a lot of comfort in standing next to eunhye, interacting with the other, the worry of so many eyes on her, fade a bit away. “your fish impression is amazing” she gives a strong nod “are you sure you’re not the maknae of fabula?” she tilts her head to the side “you’re too good at aegyo…”.
eunhye pouted right after she heard sori’s words. “if i get eaten, the fabelles will be my witnesses!” she retorted playfully, knowing that they were both joking. smiling widely at sori, she asked, “would you let me join fabula’s maknae line as an honorary member? i like to think being the youngest in my family is proof enough!” eunhye believed all those years of being the youngest had paid off, making it easy for her to slip into the maknae role without feeling embarrassed, even when acting overly cute. it was something that the fans were always charmed by, especially since fabula was known more for their girl crush, confident image.
she laughed belatedly, realizing the potential downside of “joining” the maknae line. “then again, maybe i’m better off not being part of it. i can still make use of my unnie privileges.” eunhye teased, even if she rarely did, believing that everyone was equal to her, regardless of age or status. looking at sori’s bunny ears again, she requested, “since you’re a bunny, you should give me— er, us, a good bunny impersonation!”
hyuk smiled as eunhye explained her points and educated him on the latest tv shows. he knew better when to speak his mind some more, because he didn’t want to be judged or criticized for his thoughts, especially now that he was a public figure.
“i think some people in the industry would go crazy if different people tried to write those shows. i mean, imagine idols creating scripts for these shows, i guess with the amount of workshops we go, we could come up with very interesting and different plots.” he let his imagination fly; it wasn’t the first time he thought about it, how some of his fellow idols had brilliant ideas that normally would be dismissed just because they were idols.
he gave a thought on what she spoke lastly, and she was right. being genuine was valid, but also having people who trusted their instincts, the idea, and didn’t think about closed-minded people, but what changes they could make, with something as simple as a...dating tv show.
“would you ever go on one of those if they asked you? if they wanted a dating show with idols, would you take part of it?”
letting out a chuckle, eunhye knew instantly her response to his question. in fact, eunhye had some mixed feelings about her appearance on date lottery. while it was one of the idol’s earliest variety appearances, eunhye remembered the challenge she had with being genuine on screen, but not too obvious that one could tell she wasn’t romantically interested in either one of them. “i actually did years ago, but i don’t think legacy’s produced show was as big as this one.” she paused as she continued on with her story, “i don’t know if you watched date lottery or know anyone who was on the show, but i was on the second and third seasons of date lottery. back then, they had so many trainees sign up for it that i ended up on two dates at the same time.”
quickly realizing that her words could be interpreted differently, eunhye reasoned, “for people like me, we went on two dates to see who we liked more… if we liked any of them. if we did and the other person felt the same, then the next season would be another date with them. if we didn’t or the other person said no too, then we’d go on a date with someone new.” glancing back at the tv screen and then towards hyukjae, she added, “i didn’t have it easy picking who i wanted to go on another date with, but i’d like to think i was lucky.” another thought had popped in her mind, causing her to joke, “i did find out after the season ended that some of the fans commented on my choice for a second date. i chose to go to an escape room, which isn’t exactly the most romantic location out there, especially when you don’t know them too well…” she trailed off, laughing at her words. “so don’t do what i did if that happens to you!”
recalling the question that was asked earlier, eunhye responded, “but to answer your question, i don’t think i would join one now.”
“oh yeah! for sure!” eunhye responded with confidence. “fans tend to like all sides of us, or at least what is presented to the public. obviously they wouldn’t really like someone who is rude or disrespectful, but if it’s something like them not being good at something, they’ll find it charming and cute that their bias is someone who has flaws too.” she’s seen her fair share of moments similar to what she had described (and also experienced a few for herself).
“confidence doesn’t come from experience alone—it comes from believing in yourself too. if you trust that you can win, you just might surprise yourself!” she said with reassurance as she shared a bit of her mindset whenever she tried something new (and once she got out of the initial surprise phase). chuckling at sori’s reaction, eunhye watched as sori picked her character before going back to where her cursor was. “i’m picking this one! it’s called dry bones, they’re um…how should i explain it…” eunhye realized that explaining what they were to someone who might not know could possibly be an interesting moment. “the opposite of that one.” she vaguely began describing while pointing to the turtle that looked similar, which was the koopa troopa. “it’s just they’re the skeletal version.”
clearing her throat, eunhye quickly clicked on her chosen character before switching to the vehicles option. “i think after picking the vehicle, it’ll ask us to confirm if everything is correct so we can start the race afterwards.” she noticed that there were so many vehicle options to choose from, but ended up choosing whatever was the first one available to make it easier for her. “for the veteran players, they have their own preferences for the go-karts since each one has advantages and disadvantages. but usually whatever comes up first is a good option for players!”
“eh, really?” she pouts “i still don’t like showing the things i’m bad at though…” she lets out a sigh. it’s always been sori’s goal to be the best at everything, and usually she is the best at everything, so it feels so weird when there’s something in the world she isn’t the best at. she has these high standards for herself, and perhaps she just assumes everybody else has these high standards for her as well. “flaws too you say” she hums “maybe it’s not the end of the world to let them see me do stuff i’m not good at… i’d still prefer showing off the things i’m good at though”.
“so it’s like a living skeleton or something?” she looks at eunhye as she tilts her head to the side. she turns her back to the screen, “it’s kind of creepy, isn’t it? well… it’s definitely not as cute as baby mario, that’s for sure…” she nods her head. “oh, we’re picking our own vehicle too? this is kind of fun, and we haven’t even properly started” she giggles. “i think i’m just gonna pick whichever vehicle is the cutest” she shrugs, scrolling through to find her pick. “that one!” she says excitedly, before letting her eyes wander over to eunhye’s pick, “are you gonna chose what comes first or something else?”.
“yeah, a living skeleton!” eunhye nodded her head several times, relieved to know that sori had a better way of describing the character she had chosen. “it is a bit creepy, but somehow i find that a bit endearing about this character. but you’re right though, not as cute as baby mario.” she laughed as she looked at the vehicle choices quickly.

is it me or has anyone noticed that eunhye has been appearing less on variety shows? when she debuted, she made so many variety show appearances that i thought she would be winning multiple variety star awards during the year end award shows. but in the past few years, she’s been appearing here and there on shows and never was a fixed cast member!
do you think that eunhye got tired of being a variety star?? i would be so sad if she got tired of appearing on variety shows because she’s so entertaining and has a charming personality! she’s one of my favorite legacy idols and i wished i got to see her more on these types of shows again… i feel like newer fans don’t even know how hilarious she used to be on these shows.
[ + / - ] eunhye still does variety content!! it’s just more with the fabula members or lgc girls, which she seems comfortable doing! you can check those out if you miss her variety skills!
[ + / - ] do you really think that eunhye really decides what shows she wants to be in?? have you ever considered the idea that maybe the company forced her to do that for her image and reputation? i think all of the variety appearances was legacy’s way of gaining more fans. just remember that sometimes the company curates their idols to be a certain way
[ + / - ] i miss her on variety shows too, op!! she’s one of the rare idols that isn’t afraid of showing other sides of herself. it’s what made me a fan of hers tbh!
fansigns still feel a bit unnatural for sori, she’s grown to like it though. she enjoys talking with the fans, even though she feels like she’s a bit awkward, it’s nice to hear whatever the fans have to say, sori isn’t naturally good at interacting with people, and especially not strangers, so she always fears the worst. and then there’s the other part of fansigns, where it’s just the idols on the stage, playing with the gifts the fans have given them.
sori sneaks her way over to eunhye, she always feels a bit more calm when she’s with one of her members, finding two hats on the way, she picks those two up as well. she puts bunny ears on herself, and goes up to eunhye from behind, placing some sort of… fish hat(?) on the other. “eeh! so cute unnie!” she says, hugging one of the other’s arms and holding her tight. she’s not sure whether eunhye can tell she’s shy right now, but it’s still comforting just standing next to the other.
no matter how many fansigns eunhye attended, she always enjoyed them. some fans were familiar faces she’d seen countless times before, while others were people she barely knew but still wanted to leave with a memorable experience.

shaking her head, eunhye understood hyoseop’s sentiments. with the schedules that idols typically got, sometimes they didn’t have opportunities to show off other skills in favor of their stage presence or personality. “no, no! i like it when people talk about themselves!” she reassured him with a smile. “but it would be cool if we got to join isac! i know it’s been a while since we have, but who knows, maybe it might happen.”
while receiving the paper, she looks at the address and realizes that she might have an idea where it was located. but before she could comment on that, she took the pen and paper to write down the address and the name of the restaurant. “will do! i don’t usually give out that coupon, so whenever my sister finds out that someone does, she assumes it’s someone in legacy that i know.” once she finished writing the address, she handed the pen and paper back to hyoseop. “thank you for the address to your mom’s restaurant! i like supporting other businesses so i’ll visit whenever fabula isn’t busy!”
“ah well” he pouts “i want to tell the fans everything, but at the same time, i don’t want them to know everything, i don’t know if that makes sense…”. “they’re my fans, i love them, but sometimes i want privacy” he hums. it does feel weird to hyoseop sometimes, that people he has never met, knows so much about him, he holds every single one of his fans dear, but the thought still remains a bit weird. “i think what you said is a skill we learn as idols, answering properly without giving too much information" he nods his head.
“hyojicha?” he tilts his head to the side “i like the idea, i might just go with that, it’s not easy to come up with pseudonyms, but you did a good one so well, and right on the spot too”.
“ah… thank you” he smiles to the other “you’re always free to talk too much to me as well, i’ll listen”. it did feel nice, even though eunhye and hyoseop didn’t know each other that well, the reassurance that he wasn’t talking too much about himself was nice to hear. hyoseop sometimes comes across as an open book, nothing to hide, but much like his sister, the tough stuff was kept to himself, and he feared he was too annoying if he spoke too much.
“i’ll keep this address safe, i’ll get to that restaurant eventually” he nods.
“yeah,” eunhye began to speak before telling him a thought that had popped in her mind. “it’s also good to keep the name an inconspicuous one because once they receive the confirmation that it’s you, i wouldn’t be surprised if people start giving you tea related products after finding out the meaning behind it.” she laughed as she thought about some of the fans who have given idols gifts related to an inside joke or nickname.
“oh that’s a dangerous suggestion,” eunhye continued on with a smile on her face. “i can talk for a very long time unless something stops me. it’s why some variety and radio shows love to have me, it seems! i can talk for a while to keep people engaged most of the time.” while being talkative had its pros and cons, eunhye has learned over the past few years when to tone it down and understand whether the person wanted to say something or needed a break from listening to her.
“please do! i know my sister would appreciate the extra customers.” she said sincerely, before glancing up at the wall clock. “oh! i should get going. i didn’t realize how long we’ve been talking.” she let out a small, embarrassed laugh, quickly checking that she had already handed hyoseop the photo and marker. “i hope your cousin likes the autograph! and if you ever need another one, just let me know — or you can always ask sori too!” eunhye added with a playful grin, stepping aside as she waved goodbye.
eunhye laughed as she responded, “i think for some people, when they see their faves not doing well in something like a game, they find it endearing. or maybe they won’t care about that because they were so happy to be able to share a moment with their favorite idol.” she only had the let’s play video that they had to do for nintendo and the occasional gaming streams from other groups as references. “but with some time available, perhaps we can spend some of that time practicing in case that day comes.” she suggested both as a way to spend time with sori and to become a better gamer.
amused by sori’s words, eunhye encouraged her, “be more confident, sori! say it like you know you can beat me at this game. after all, the fabula members are always confident women.” eunhye let out a soft laugh at sori’s confusion, leaning closer to point at the screen as she gestured towards the controller. “you move with this, and press here to choose.” her tone softened as she added, “don’t worry, i’ll help you until you get used to it.” as she moved her cursor to pick dry bones, eunhye teased, “but make sure you take baby mario quickly, or else i might steal him from you.”
“eeh, you think they’ll find that charming?” she looks at eunhye with a smile sitting on her lips “i’m just so used to only showing my good parts” she hums. sori generally didn’t like the world to know she sucked at something, and the world already knew she sucked at variety, so why bring more things to the public that she didn’t know how to do? “i do like practicing stuff, whatever it is” she bites her lip “so let’s practice during our free time! then i can lie to minji, say it’s my first time, and totally beat her in the game” a giggle slips out of her lips.
“aish! how will i have confidence in something i’ve never tried before” she shakes her head “but very well! eunhye, be prepared to lose to someone that hasn’t even played this game before” there’s a playful smile on her lips. “hey! don’t steal baby mario from me!” she says before following eunhye’s instructions and picking her character “what character are you going to pick?” she asks the other.
“oh yeah! for sure!” eunhye responded with confidence.
