A quick lip sync test of someone being unhappy and making sure the mouth movements are correct.
During the 13th - 15th November, I went to the Manchester Animation Festival. During this time, I went to several student films, talks and workshops. The two main workshops that I went to character animation and design. I enjoyed these workshops as it enabled me to find out what clients want from the design and animation.
Digital versions of the facial expressions of the characters.
Facial expressions for the main characters! Rachael will have the most facial expressions, as she is the most expressive, as well as being the main character. The rest, since they are minor, would have limited facial expressions.
Arm rig practice
Another rig practice to make sure I am getting the rig down right and making sure it is working.
Full body versions of the characters with final designs.

Instead of doing frame by frame animation, my team were advised to rig the characters instead. Here's a small practice test with a rig I've made.
Character designs for ‘The Customer is always Wrong’! These are rough designs, before my group chooses the final style to use for the film.
Tim Allen Master class!
I went to Tim Allen’s master class on stop motion animation.
During the time I was there, I learnt about how to animate the body as one, rather than individual parts, and to treat the body I am animating like it is a character. I also learnt about how to exaggerate movements or how to play down movements, to make them mean more that if I were to over exaggerate.
I enjoyed animating with a puppet and playing around with it. I’m not doing stop motion, but I can see ways to add it in my third year film.

Showreel 2018 - 2019
An updated version of my showreel. The song is from https://www.bensound.com/ and called 'Creative Minds'.
Digital version of the airship, that will appear in the opening scene.
Digital versions of the updated designs of Charlotte and Beatrix, including slightly different hair styles and Charlotte has her eye colour changed to a more purple/blue. Beatrix has her hair colour changed. The eye shape for both has changed to represent a more anime style.
Designing clothes for my main characters! I was inspired different steampunk outfits. I’m quite happy with how they turned out.
Redesigns of my characters to see what works best in terms of design and how it would fit into the steampunk style world.

An initial test shot of my third year film animation. A quick rough animation to see how I could open my film.
Rough sketches of what I would want for an airship that would appear in the background of the film.
