Liam really hadn't been feeling like himself lately. There was so much nagging at the back of his brain, so much bothering him. It was even affecting his work. And when one of the orders was screwed up (due to his mindless dawdling), one of the customers splashed him with the red liquid, soaking him and turning most of his white shirt blood red.

"Portray emotions on paper..." He grinned and bit his lip. "You should find a girl named Kirby Martell. She's a local talent. Extremely excellent at what she does... If you feel you could learn a thing or two..." He paused, then, meeting the boys gaze. "But if it's a muse you're looking for, find a girl named Ana Sanders. She's all the muse you might ever need."
"That's okay, though. Because lemme tell you, I've seen some sad saps at the bar. And life, I've found, is so much better when you can laugh at yourself for doing the things that would usually be embarassing." He chuckled, quietly. "Doesn't do too bad to attract the girls, either. Which usually means better tips for me. So yeah, I look like a total doofus... But when I smile, and laugh at myself; not only do I get the best pleasure of cheering people up, BUT.... I get a little extra spending money as well."

Seeing the fear, Liam just smiled and sat beside the patron, watching the others. "I used to be scared to dance, too." He told him, grinning out at the others. "And then my very first girlfriend asked me to the homecoming and I just couldn't say no... Had me in the palm of her hand, man." Laughing at the memory, he shrugged. "I guess one day, someone will have you too. Enough to spin around and around at least." Sighing, he cleared his throat. "Liam. Liam Harper. Resident chatty bartender."
"I'm glad you like it." He replied, ducking his head. "You showed me where you like to hide from the world and do the things you love and... this is mine." He nodded over to the guitar by his bed. "This is where I sing and dance and just let time stop for a little while. Get my head together, get my mind straight."
“This would be so much easier if I could actually stay awake.”
A part of him hesitated to step forward. But another part of him automatically went into the memories and pushed him forward. "Sounds like someone needs their favorite coffee." He murmured. Hands in his pockets, he nodded to the work she was doing. "Running yourself ragged again?"
"I believe that this is where the kids go to.. Get away for a little while." He offered, shrugging his shoulders. "My ex... She's an artist and she'd come here at night and, depending on how set the sun was, move things around. Make them... More perfect for her drawings or paintings. Whatever she was in the mood to do." He walked around, looking for the tree with the etching she'd made. "'And tonight we drink the stars... for it is the beginning of always.'" He read aloud. "So... You're an artist too, and you all have your favorite things to draw. Free hand? Portraits?"

"I guess you could say I was supposed to survive. Someone else had bigger plans for me and here I am, alive and ready to take on whatever those plans may be. As fate would have it, there may just very well be someone who needs me." He explained. His mind, as it did often lately, ran to Kirby. "Sometimes you're just meant to do things that seem so little but change so much." When she asked him if he was scared of Ana, he looked down at his hands. "Not of her... Of the tumor coming back and her... losing herself again? Yes. Terrified." He admitted. "I'm also scared that she might want to leave... And I... Can't go with her." For a million reasons, but mostly because he wasn't sure if he could leave."
"You don't know how to dance?" He asked, almost astounded. "Oh, come now. Seriously, it's the easiest thing in the world, it's- you practically start your life out dancing. You make your way along through life doing it, you just don't realize it. It's all a dance, and you learn as you go. Even if you can't move around with your feet-" He spun in a circle and did a couple of taps before he began moving his shoulders. "You can just move along with whatever the beat of the music is. Come on. Whatever has you bummed, just... Dance it out."
As they shook hands, Liam lit up and chuckled. "No worries. I get that way too. Nice to meet you, Jace. And I promise, you'll get out of this alive." He assured, nodding his head. "C'mon. I know a great place." There was one spot that Ana seemed to love more than any other. And that was one right by the bar, a place where there was an opening before the forest that young teens ran away to at night, lit up by christmas lights and all the other tiny things. "This is one good spot. Never know what the hell you're gonna find. One time I found a bunch of guys trying to summon the spirits with their girlfriends for kicks. Another, I found a girl just wishing that the week would end with a bottle of bourbon, draped over the couch they left."
He walked around, still holding her hand. "I do. I truly do, however, I am quite able to get myself out of those relatively short funks." With another smile, he lead her outside the bar and to a small building out back. "Welcome to my humble abode." He murmured, opening the door. The small building had been remade into a loft, and all by Liam's hand. "See, the owner knew I didn't really have anywhere to stay after everything, but he gave me a place and told me to do what I could with it." He explained as he closed the door behind them. It had all the amenities. Kitchen area, living area. And a large bed in the corner, surrounded by curtains. "Welcome to my hideaway."

"When did I realize I was in love for the first time...? My God... That's so easy. I was a freshman in highschool and we were getting revenge on the seniors for the freshman beatdown. And I was running about in the halls, causing chaos and trouble and what not and we came past this room, and this girl was drawing. Just mindlessly putting everything into this one piece on her easel and she didn't care what time it was or that the school had closed. I'd talked to her a few times before but she was so invested in finishing what she'd started and she looked so at peace with everything. And I wanted to spend every waking minute after that, staring at such a beautiful face in such a state. Hoping I was worthy enough to spend that time with."

"When I was about four, my grandpa died. And it wasn't until I looked at my Grandma that I really figured out the bits and baubles of what was going on. But my grandpa used to kiss her on the cheek at get togethers and say 'it's a good life'. So I figured that maybe that's all she needed to hear. So I climbed my little self onto her lap and gave her my best grin and said 'it's still a good life grandma'. And I kissed her on the cheek. But that was my first encounter with death."

You see, my mom watched all these kids from the neighborhood and there was one little girl, Marissa Porter, who would follow me around all the time. I spent most of my time reading or doing something of the sort, but one day another boy pushed her and told her she was gross. So I punched him in the head and told her she was beautiful. And then she kissed me."
"You can't handle a compliment, hm? That only makes you all the more adorable." He teased. As she leaned back, he leaned forward nce more and took one of her hands. "I never said you weren't welcome to join me on this side. However, there is something over here I would like to show you." He nodded to the other bartender, letting him know he'd be going. "I wasn't supposed to work today anyway." He teased, offering her his hand. "I want to show you where I go and hide on my gloomy days. Believe it or not, those do exist."
