Another weekend spent working with MABELLEarts in their Mabelle park. It was the launch of the Mobile Mabelle project {more work from that coming up}. All of this will soon be culminating in a web project coming this summer/fall which will give a guided & interactive tour through the evolution of the company, community, and project. TRAVELLER OF THE DAY - LIAM COO

Liam Coo is a media artist, photographer, and graphic/web designer, based in Toronto. He has worked in a variety of positions including: freelance designer, studio technician, commissioned artist, and chef. Liam is the Media Coordinator at Jumblies where he manages the design of graphic and web elements, create video and photographic documentation and much more. As an artist, his work has been exhibited in galleries and festivals in Toronto and Montreal in both group and solo shows. Liam designed and manages the Train of Thought website (www.trainofthought.co), and joined the journey in Vancouver and will do so again from Toronto to the East Coast.

“I was sitting in the plane from Toronto to Vancouver and I suddenly realized it was happening. for 10 months or so this project has been on my mind, kept me up at night, and made me feel giddy with excitement (sometimes all at once!). And there I was preparing to begin this amazing adventure with my friends and colleagues, either from Jumblies Theatre or meeting along the way. I love that I have been able to contribute to this in my own way and I can not wait to see what comes from it when the journey is over.”

Another video that I recently completed work on. I did the shooting snd editing on this one. Really fun and challenging project that involved a choir, live performance and vocal tracks. Fantastic work about my new neighbourhood: Parkdale in Toronto.

I just returned from 5 days work in Vancouver for my job working on Train of Thought as part of my job as Media Coordinator at Jumblies. It was a beautiful time and I cannot wait to return. Hey everyone, I’m super excited to be in the home stretch of completing the graphic novel, July Underwater, I’ve spent most of this year working on and that I’m printing with the support of the Concordia Fine Arts Reading Room. 

If you want to read about being eighteen and overwhelmed in Toronto, Ophelia, Lake Ontario and Virginia Woolf among other things, hit me up for a copy, I will mail or deliver to you wherever you are! I’ll be selling them for $16: the book is 82 pages, including 20 in full colour.

Last weekend was spent wrapping up a month-long photography project with MABELLEarts. It's the first step in a multi discipline job involving photos, websites, and graphics. Stay tuned for the portraits we made together and some process work on the archival site we are building together. And then after a week spent moving and participating in artist readings I got to see some of the CONTACT festival and participate in the portfolio review. It really was an enlightening experience and gave me some great feedback moving forward with the project!
