I got Ollie when he was only a month old, right? Which is WAY too young for a kitten to be separated from its mom, and I was super worried about him being happy and comfortable, so I used to play cat purring sound effects on a speaker for him while he slept.
Now, when I was a little kid, my best friend taught me how to purr. We were like, obsessed with cats, and it was just a trick she knew. So again, back when Ollie was tiny enough to fit in my pocket, I’d lay down with him on my chest and purr for him.
He’s almost two years old now, and I still play the purring soundtrack for him before bed, but I just realized I haven’t done the purring noise for him MYSELF in like forever
So just now while I was getting ready for bed and he was screwing around in the laundry hamper I sat down and closed my eyes and tried to see how long I could hold it- cause you know, it’s been a while and it’s hard to keep the right pitch and volume?
But then something touched my foot and I looked down and
