7 to go

asdfghjkl 2 days to go and 7 pages to draw, thank the lord for the lovely thing called LONG WEEKENDDDD!! Well it’s kinda sad this experience is coming to a close, however all good things do come to finish. Anyways it’s been a pretty chill experiencing comic web production, and I’ve realized that it’s more than just drawing a few simple panels, adding dialogue but it’s more than that. No, it’s a long and tedious emotional process, which usually leads to you wasting your time finding your tablet pen.  So yeah… webcomics…pretty intense stuff right there.

Nostalgia??? Cringe attack???

 I was looking through the beginning of the comic and I could help be cringe at the pacing, writing, and art of it all. In a way it shows how I’ve improved as a comic artist and it has allowed me to grow and further process closer to a higher standard.  I still wish I had the time to go back and drastically change everything but in a way it displays the transitions and improvements I’ve made to the comic.  The whole process and improvements of the art and concepts have show a drastic fluctuating improvement of my digital artwork, and this journey has helped me improve at a higher rate than my usual drawing schedule would allow. 

 (But seriously it's like seeing you do embarrassing in the past and having that wave of second hand embarrassment.)

I’m sorry for the lack of updates!!1

Basically what has been happening is that chapter is closing down, and I’m contemplating making it longer and ending the comic there or just ending it and making a final smaller chapter which I’ll most likely do because I think the ending needs it own chapter which will wrap everything up in a nice box. If you know what a I mean. I’ve seen an obvious improvement as I continue my journey through this comic creating process and plan to find a printer soon. Hopefully everything will wrap up and school will not be an issue, balancing completing 20 pages isn’t as easy as it seems as a page literally eats 2 hours of your time and if you start and stop or take a break you lose the flow of the page. My written report’s going well and I gotta go tidy a lot of things there. At the stage I’m at I feel a little behind but I think I can pull it off, I have 2 pages to draw left in Chapter 2 and the grand finale will begin. My comic front cover is almost finish and the backing is done, all I need to do is finish the last 20 pages and I’ll have the comic ready for the exhibition~

 Hopefully I can at least have chapter 3 started before term 4 begins. I’ve also planned up a sketch of my exhibition desk set up, and it should include, my rough draft, physical comic book copy, a laptop displaying a run though of  various page speed paints of the comic along with my written report. I’ve also considered ‘cosplaying’ or dressing up as one of the characters if it is no hassle but I’m not 100% sure with the idea.  So yeah, hopefully I can finish it all up and have everything done whilst keeping on top of my schoolwork. The final push will hopefully be a good one.

On a side note~

This hasn’t been proofread so expect messy sentence structures and so on.

Another Unexpected Hiatus

I attempted to pull a 2 week, 2 pages a day stunt in the holidays, and the end of my tablet pen broke.  I ordered a 5 pack of nibs immediately, however I have no clue when I’ll get them. Hopefully I can organize myself and hopefully finish the pages I’ve failed to upload on time asap. And I plan to do this through scheduling and organizing myself. In personal matters, I believe I need to step up academically, because my grade average has recently dropped, and I haven’t been very organized. So hopefully the second semester will have consistent updates, and quality pages. I also condensed the story, so the planned filler pages are scraped and I get the main plot points out. Anyways, until those tablet ends come in I plan to use this time to finish a paper manuscript, along with any extra character designs.

Nibs came in and I ordered the wrong end…woops.

Now I need to wait to get a refund and order the correct ends.

Personal Project: GIF attempt fail

So I tried to do the whole GIF photoshop process, and it didn’t animate properly. ヽ(´o｀； Fortunately this was a test run, and I haven’t draw all the frames. I was considering adding more animated stuff into the comic, since it is a digital comic.

- Side note- I think I need to finish the storyboard for chapter 2 soon or I’ll be stressing

I was also hit on the full with a tennis ball at my faces, which lead to a very bad headache and a concussion. So I don't think the 2nd update will be on this week, and I’ll just do a double update next week.

Updates and Chapter 2; Pg 1 (21) Released

After a 2 week hiatus I am back from the dead.

With this we end the prolouge/Pilot Chapter and begin with getting the story on!

During the first week of hiatus I was at a pop culture convention, in the second week Maybe this shouldn't be considered hiatus cause i was working on the comic… I was drawing out chapter 2 in paper format. I found with this I can draw the pages faster, and I can properly pace the comic. So hopefully Chapter 2 wont be as choppy and inconsistent as the 1st.

Small Update~

Personally I found chapter one very inconsistent quality wise, and writing wise. Many of the fight scenes were paced incorrectly. To resolve this problem I got visual diary for some drawn panels and pages. It will also double as something to present at exhibition for my personal project stand.

Basically it contains me storyboarding then editing panels and planning out how the chapter will be like.

It will also help me organize update dates, and other little trinkets such as gifs and flash animations.

I should get off hiatus soon

Huzzah for holidays!

I went on a major comic drawing spree and I’m officially half way through chapter 1. I have a week of holidays left so I will update Pages 11-14 tomorrow and I’ll do the rest of my holiday homework on the weekend. Unfortunately I’m on an artist block at the moment because I’m considering trialing new manga formats and styles and I don’t know which ones to choose…on a brighter note, I’m glad I already thought out how to finish this chapter so my artist block won’t affect the comic.

Boring Text Update

I stopped some out of extra curricular activities and so on, because I find that it's affecting my grades and so on. So I can now update for frequently and include more cohesive and detailed comic panels. And this means high quality pages ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ Once again I keep on forgetting to save pages, and I lose some progress on my comic which is really counter productive.
