International Highline Meeting
Located in Monte Piana in the Northern Italian Alps. Athletes from all over the world come to this non-competitive event in which they must walk suspended on a ribbon of 2.5cm.
Those that are more adventurous can mount their hammock on the string and spend the night.
And if a double-decker bus Crashes in to us To die by your side Is such a heavenly way to die And if a ten ton truck Kills the both of us To die by your side Well the pleasure, the privilege is mine
Some people say you should’t adopt practices or appearances and hairstyles of cultures other than the ones you happened to be born with. They say you are “appropriating” other cultures. I find this not only narrow-minded and discriminating, but at the same time I would much prefer a multi-cultural society where people are not so stuck on their original culture, but show an interest in other cultures and live in harmony. Many people in the western world often prefer other cultures and their practices, which is no wonder, considering how materialistic and often unjust the western world is. I think it should be respected if some people prefer certain life-styles, cultures and religious practices to the ones they were born with. It’s called freedeom and “to live and let live” and no one should be discouraged from the life-style they chose.“ But what I’m definitely against is enforcing a life-style, a culture and a religion on others or even discrimating them for being different. That’s happened way too often in history and is called oppression.
