Dazai placed a hand on his heart, pretending as if the comment had offended him. âThat hurts to hear! Here I thought we made such good business partners!â His tone was playful but his words held no truth to them. If anything, he found dealing with Roman to be frustrating. It wasnât that Roman himself was particularly a terrible person, but making a trade of information with him usually meant that Dazai had to give up more info than he would prefer to share. He would have avoided coming at all if he could have, but even though he would never admit it, the case was proving to be a tad more difficult than he had expected.
âHow have you been? Up to the usual? Still paying people to kill for you?â He kept the smile plastered on his face, his voice teasing. He was simply messing with him but he did want to get a feel for what Roman was like these days, if he had changed much or if Dazai would need to rethink his approach to getting the information he wanted. // @liecheatstealsurvive
Great, just great. The smug jackass just had to go running his mouth, calling them business partners right in the middle of his club. Now Roman was going to have pay off everyone who might have heard them, all so the rumor mill wouldnât be talking all about Roman Torchwick being buddy-buddy with the sell-out halfway to the law. And if he had to pay, you could be damn sure Dazai would too.
âOnly the ones that arenât worth my time. Speaking of,â Without another word, Roman turned his back on the man, making his way through the crowd to one of his private rooms. The detectiveâs little display was going to cost him, and part of that meant playing hardball. If he wanted to talk, they do it in a place of Romanâs choosing. And that meant minimizing the amount of people who would see them together.
