lance doesn’t know the girl that’s sitting on top of the brick wall, but he does know that she’s been sitting there for a while, and he does know that it’s basic human decency to be concerned about that. it’s not safe to be up there, even if she’s not a child, even if she surely can take care of herself. but there are a lot of people on this asteroid, and so few of them have someone who cares about them. living his life surrounded by people with mental illnesses, and having a few of his own, lance can’t, he just can’t leave her up there without making sure that she’s okay.
curse his morals.
“sleep?” he asks. what kind of question is that? the type of question you ask someone that you don’t know and that you haven’t seen? apparently. “i slept alright. … how did you sleep?” // @uvhinged
He had felt like water as he shifted next to her, uneasy and unfiltered, like the roaring stream that lay below them. She turned her head to look at him fully, a smile dancing across thin lips as she drank him in. He was beautiful. Made of clay, pulled directly from the planets too far away to see and she was glad that she had given herself to this spot.Â
She had been waiting for him. Something in the pit of stomach told her so and she had never been led wrong by that part of her, so she wasn’t going to start questioning it now.Â
“Haven’t got the chance to, yet.” As if on cue, a yawn exited her being and when she looked back to him, she continued. “I’m glad you rested well, though, honeybee.”// @mcclaims
