The combination of this chair and dresser in my house is in the romantic approach. The style of both of the pieces is romantic. The chair has curved edges, light colors, and the flowers also fit. The dresser has light colors and has painted on details of the flowers. The combination of both pieces creates a “romantic” inspired feeling to the room.

I noticed that the renaissance style often uses a lot of wood and that it is often very dark colored. the structure is usually pretty sturdy and does not have many curves. There is often some carvings in the wood which is sort of like what the features that the dresser has. Another thing about the renaissance style is that it is typically furniture that is passed down from person to person in families. I do not know the history of this dresser because I rent the house I live in, but it seems to be well used and old. It probably has been used in multiple homes like the Renaissance tradition.

There are many different cultures that have a very specific design that represents them. For me personally, I think I wear a very typical American college student wardrobe. The design of it is a lot of casual clothes. A very common staple in the clothes I wear is my high top converse shoes. These shoes are something that both men and women wear. They make me feel a part of the group of American youth. Converse all have the same basic look to them. The biggest component is the rubber bottom on the shoe. Also, the canvas material is something almost all of the shoes have.

Something that would be lost in the transition from three dimensional into two dimensional is that you wouldn't be able to tell the material that it is made out of. The clock is made out of a very heavy marble which is a very important part of the design. Something that is gained from translating it to two dimensional is that it would not take up so much space on a table and it would not be so heavy. There could be a drawing of it and it could be hung on the wall instead. In an illustration of the clock, we must be careful to do shading so that the markings in the marble can be shown. Also, we must be careful to clearly mark the face of the clock so that it is clear what the object is. I do not know what type of media we could use to show the clock in a two dimensional way. Maybe cutting pieces of paper up to make it.

A. This over the door shoe holder was probably designed because people need a place to store their shoes. 

B. It is especially important that whoever makes the design takes into account the average shoe size of people. If the pockets dor the shoes are too small then people with larger feet would not be able to use it. 

C. This over the door shoe holder is white with clear pockets on it. It has three metal hooks at the top to place over the door. There are 24 pockets which are enough for 12 pairs of shoes. Each pocket is the same size.

The pockets have to fit an average sized shoe: the designer probably researched the average shoe size of people and made each pocket fit that size of shoe. 

The pockets have to be strong enough to hold up a boot or heavy shoe: the top of every pocket has a piece of fabric to add strength and stability 

The material must be strong but also a little flexible to fit oddly shaped shoes: the material is clear plastic that is fairly sturdy but when you push on it there is some give. 

It must be visually pleasing because the point of it is to provide organization: the white background makes it look uniform to the door which helps keep the design looking clean.

This is a picture of some blinds in the living room of my house. This represents a problem because they are broken. When we were pulling the blinds down to close it, the string holding them together pulled through the bottom. Now the blinds are crooked and I have tried to fix it but it always goes back to this same state. This is a design problem for me because things should not break with normal use. 

To tackle the problem at hand we would need to change the design so that the string does not get pulled through the bottom. Maybe change the design to be more sturdy so that it does not break with normal use. A curtain is something that can really make or break a room and looking at it is very unpleasing to the eye. 

We have already identified a problem with this design so the next step would be to design a version that does not have the same problem with functionality. We could swap out the thin string that holds it up now with a thicker piece of string so that it will not pull through.
