“Wow. That’s completely stupid. To lend something like that to a complete stranger. How bold you are.”
His attitude completely changed, even the air getting heavy when he looked off, his smile dropping into an almost pout. Then, he grinned a little. Of course, this was all nothing but a facade.
Kokichi sighed. What boredom. She was being so bold and so oblivious and so naive it almost hurt. Of course, he may or may not be someone who indeed did not have to be feared, but it still upset him.
“However, I’m sure the others would love to take you up on your offer! I prefer letting them eat first, you see.”
He puts a hand on his mouth, chuckling.
“Has nothing to do with being bold or stupid. I just remember that when I was struggling to scrape by each day, a hot meal or shelter were a godsend. That’s all. Figured that might be the same for you and your bunch.”
Keali gave a lazy shrug as she said that. She had to admire his response, at least he had common sense to not outright accept. For all he knew she could have been a serial killer, after all. Though it wasn’t a pure refusal too.
And there were others, too huh? She wondered if she had met any of them before, couldn’t recall it, but who knew.
“Well, if they do accept it, then I’ll be sure to bring plenty for them,” she said and offered a smile that didn’t quite make it to her eyes. “In case we do end up seeing more of each other; I’m Keali. Anything you want me to call you by?”
