Across the Field of Barley, Ireland
In front of me, on this hot day in the Irish countryside, a long scene of distant heather-clad mountains with green lower slopes and a vast field of golden barley.
A big sky filled with clouds allowed a little blue to show.
A short time after photographing this landscape I found a reference to an oil painting by Jeremiah Hoad, an Irish artist whom I had never heard of.
But I was struck by the similarities between his Across the Bog, Mayo and this image that I had just photographed.
An enjoyable day photographing.
