we salute you, fake RyGos
Are you a Ryan Gosling fan? Wait who are we kidding, every inhabitant of the earth is a Gosling fan. Â Yesterday a video hit the web featuring a regular dude who is Detroit tax accountant by day, assumed ladykiller at night, and Ryan Gosling lookalike all the time. The resemblance is pretty crazy. Â He went around Detroit acting like RyGos, but never actually confirmed whether or not he was the Godly Gosling. Females were freaking. Check it out:
Obviously because we are diehard fans we would not fall for this trick, but we respect this dude's good lucks and commitment to the prank. Meow, sexy Michigan accountant guy.
It's Friday - are you celebrating yet?

"we're into it" Wednesday: 4.24.13
Happy Wednesday friends. Â Weâre into some randomly fab things this week, including everything from festival posers to coffee seasoning. Perhaps this aimless collections of fun things is a reflection of the crazy days weâve both been having at our jobs lately. April seems to be INSANELY busy - anyone else agree? Â Either way, grab a glass of chardonnay and join us in our musings.
The City Skimmer from Madewell
Described by the brand as âthoroughly modernâ and âsharply feminine,â these suede flats are a structured staple that you should probably get into your closet ASAP. Â Check them out here. Â These babies have a removable ankle strap which is super fun, and come in some great colors - weâre particularly swooning over the Dreamy Peach pair with the yellow ankle strap. Unfortunately, we're not the only ones obsessing over them, because they're already sold out on the website; brb while we say a prayer for their quick return.

Putting nutmeg or cinnamon in your daily cup(s) of coffee
Because...why not?  The little shakers are always sitting at Starbucks and Panera looking lonely and unused. Treat yourself, you deserve it.

Lie Witness News on Jimmy Kimmel
One of our favorite parts of Mr. Kimmelâs hilarious show is âLie Witness News,â where random people on the street pretend to have knowledge about various current events. Â The latest installment involved hitting the ground at famed music festival Coachella, where some super overdone attendees pretended to know whatâs up about various bands including The Obesity Epidemic and The Chelsea Clintons (sadly, neither of those exist). Â Check it out below.
 The Food Republic Hangover Helper
Go-to Saturday/Sunday morning (read: hangover) food in America may not be healthy, but at least itâs not coagulated ox blood or suckling lamb intestines.  We found an interesting and fairly disturbing infographic on this Food Republic article that shows how a drink there, a slice of za there and those 8 Lemon Drop shots quickly adds up.  However, the sound of some All-American eggs and bacon undeniably has us ready for our next brunch.  Because as we recently discussed, you know we love brunch.
We hope everyone is having a fab week. Â Despite the fact that weâre basically still wearing gloves and scarves in mid spring, weâre halfway to Friday and thatâs something to celebrate.
xoxo,
"we're into it" Wednesday: 4.17.13
Welcome to another Wednesday - this week, we're really into a few awesome things that will without a doubt just make you feel happy. We cannot believe it is already the middle of April but are so excited for spring activities: drinking on patios, wearing sundresses and wedges, going to baseball games and attending weekend festivals, etc. Yes, we are excited.
Dove Real Beauty Sketches
This video campaign made each of us shed a tear. Millions of women look at their own face in the mirror every day - because of that, we're constantly nitpicking, criticizing, wishing for something different, etc. Â But who knows how your friends and family members perceive you? Do they notice that tiny blemish? Or care that your ears are a little bit uneven? This campaign proves that everyone has beautiful qualities, and sometimes the only person who is unaware of that is you. Check out the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpaOjMXyJGk&feature=youtu.be
Otria Spinach Artichoke Greek Yogurt Veggie Dip
Sometimes plain carrots and cucumbers just donât help us overcome that 2:30 PM feeling. We need a little extra. This special veggie dip from Marzetti is ahhmazing, and doesnât include the calories (or guilt) that is often associated with condiments.
Anthropologie spring scarves
Floral prints are in this spring, on everything from jeans to Keds to dresses. And ever since H gave K a summer scarf from her study abroad escapades in Spain a few  years ago, we've reveled in the glory that is a light scarf as the perfect warm weather accessory.  Anthropologie took both of these things and voila - created some crazy amazing summery scarves. Â
K is dyyyyying over this watercolor-y specimen.
H got this one for her birthday and can't wait to (finally) wear it once springy weather comes out to play.

Just a few more days until the weekend, team. Â Turn up some J.Timberlake at work and power through.
xoxo,
the beauty of brunch
This week weâve decided to acknowledge one of our favorite weekly activities, which is the only way we know how to survive a hangover, the only way we are getting out of bed before 10 AM on a Sunday, and overall an activity we are particularly into... weâre talking about brunch, obvi. Â View our thoughts on laws, etiquette, and a few fave places in our respective towns. Â
Basic Brunch Laws (BBLs)
Brunch is a place where it is socially acceptable to drink before noon - embrace it. Mimosas? Yes. Bloody Marys? Absolutely. But with this law comes an important note: don't continually talk about how wasted you got last night. It's probably obvious, and youâre probably a tool.
Do not ever hurry through the wonder that is brunch. This is one of those tortoise > hare things.
Chances are that if you throw a cardigan and some shades over last night's outfit, you're good to go. But please donât sit at your table with your sunglasses on. You might be struggling, but you donât have a black eye. Unless you do have a black eye, and in that case, cheers.
Etiquette Re: Brunch
You can be on the struggle bus a little bit, but don't be that person whoâs running to the bathroom every 5 minutes. Maybe stay in bed and examine your adult choices on those days.
Restaurant wait times and proximity must be considerate of your previous nightâs activities. Intense hangover? Stay close to home. Â Slight wine headache? Try a new spot with soothing music. Â Took one too many body shots off your new BFF Jenny at your favorite local bar? Â Venture on over to a different neighborhood.
Brunch menus are often divided into sweet and savory. Be prepared to share a bite of your choco-chip pancakes with the girl who ordered a frittata. Itâs the right thing to do.
Favorite Chicago Brunchinâ Spots:
Bakinâ and EggsÂ
Bottomless cup coffee, flights of bacon (featuring 1 piece of each flavor, 2 Hâs fav: maple pepper and honey), and adorable cafĂ© decor, Bakinâ and Eggs is a charming brunch bistro.
(image via bakinandeggschicago.com. yep, itâs adorable)
KanelaÂ
Because kanela means cinnamon in greek, the majority of menu items are speckled with the savory spice.Â
(image via Hâs personal instagram. caption: this is what they serve for breakfast in Heaven.)
Favorite Kansas City Brunching Spots
Gram & Dun
The food is life-changing with fried/meaty/salty goodness, the drinks are strong, the patio is on the river on the KC Plaza. Mega win.
(image via gramanddun.com)
Blanc Burgers & Bottles
With hundreds of beers, side dishes served in mini shopping carts, and a kickass menu of burgers topped with everything from eggs to crab, you can't go wrong at Blanc.
(image via K's instagram - Kasteel, truffle fries, and a coffee-encrusted brunch burger)
And now as we move toward the weekend, we invite you to embrace the beauty that is brunch (if youâre crazy and havenât already) and join us in our happiness.
Cheers,
"we're into it" Wednesday: 4.3.13
Lovely readers,
We hope you had a fab Easter weekend. Â We spent it with our families (H made a surprise visit home, with the help of K as her taxi service) and indulged on many egg-shaped treats and glasses of wine. Now that itâs another Wednesday, weâre into more things. Check it out.
This dress from Madewell
We loved college for a variety of reasons - the people, the parties, the campus, and especially sharing closets as roommates for three years. Â Now that we live in different cities said sharing is more difficult, but we were happy to find out this weekend that we still have the same taste - namely, after realizing we both went to Madewell on the same day and bought the same dress. Â Great minds think alike, natch.
(image via madewell.com)
P.S. Speaking of Madewell - H is having a freaking hayday that Madewell is opening in Chicago this week. Â K frequents the one in Leawood, KS.
âMirrorsâ by Justin Timberlake
JT, weâre so glad youâre back. Enough said.
Popcorn at work
You know that terrible 2 p.m. feeling where you think you might just DIE before the work day ends? Weâve been there...often. Â We both like to pop some corn in those late afternoon hours to provide a little crunch to get us through the remainder of the day. Itâs low-cal, has some fiber (who knew?), and is pretty much delish. Â Just please donât be that idiot who burns the bag and stinks up the whole office - no one likes that person. Skinny Pop is our personal fav and comes pre-popped in order to avoid a potential office failure.
Alfred
âAlfredâ is the latest iPhone must have. Dubbed a âpersonal concierge,â Alfred analyzes online data in order to predict which bars and restaurants a specific user would enjoy. You are also able to teach the app what you like and what you donât like based on the suggestions given. Think of it as the Pandora of bars and restaurants. If you have a beloved happy hour jaunt or local bistro, tell Alfred and he will suggest a couple similar spots to mix up a stale work night outing. Yep, itâs pretty awesome.
In other news, itâs supposed to be amazing weather this weekend. Â You can find us doing outside activities such as sitting on porches and drinking spritzy drinks because weâre just about done with this winter-weather spring.
Cheers,
"we're into it" Wednesday: 3.20.13
The good news is that if you are reading this, you survived St. Pattyâs Day 2013. The other good news? Itâs Wednesday and we are obviously into more things.
Nobody Walks
Garnerimg attention at the Sundance festival in 2012, this indie flick is an interesting mix of temptation, humanity, learning and decisions. Â John Krasinski sheds his goofy Jim Halpertisms as a married father who works in the film industry; he and his wife take in Martine, a young artist who enlists Johnâs Peter to help her score a film she developed. Â Parts of the film are thoughtful, others are messy, the sounds and sights are impressive, and the soundtrack is amazeballs. Â If youâre in the mood for a less-than-perfect movie that will make you think, invest 84 minutes in this complicated creation that has relatable elements for every person whoâs ever been attracted to someone else, no matter your age or romantic situation.
       ReactionGifs.com
A gif (pronounced JIF, much to the internetâs dismay) is worth a thousand words. Or maybe even more. If you donât know what they are, weâre concerned about you.  If you do (which you should), then you should know that incorporating gifs into your everyday Internet presence is a total win.  Why not respond to a cowieâs email with a gif saying âyesâ or ânoâ rather than typing the response like a boring person? Or, why not use a gif when gchatting your friends/family members to accurately describe your mood and/or workplace? Or why not ACT like a gif during an IRL conversation?  Get creative - we have faith in you. Use reactiongifs.com to help guide you through the magical gif world - search by name, reaction, tag, etc. The options are endless and the interwebs are your oyster(s). Please find some examples below.
 Kératase Hair Products
KĂ©ratase is Lâorealâs professional grade brand, sold in salons exclusively. Due to the extreme amount we tend to straighten and curl, at the end of the day our locks need and deserve some love. Hâs hairstylist recently provided her with a leave-in KĂ©ratase treatment during her latest round of highlights (a 20 minute head massage was included #intoit). Hâs hair instantly felt softer, stronger and healthier, compelling her to purchase a heat-activated protectant in order to obtain maximum hair health. The product also smells fabulous, which is a clutch hair product characteristic. We are huge fans and recommend checking out the KĂ©ratase line. A+ Lâoreal.
This collection of ridiculously happy things
Thanks again, Buzzfeed, for providing us a news/pop culture/entertainment outlet full of surprises and/or laughs/gasps. Â We stumbled upon this article yesterday, and itâs pretty fantastic. Â From frolicking cows to adorable children experiencing their first crush, this stuff is just plain HAPPY. Take five and read it.
And of course we have to acknowledge March Madness. This time of the year is every sport fanaticâs dream. The workplace turns into some semblance of a casino with bracket competitions, a large monetary prize included, and basketball games being watched openly on the majority of computer screens throughout the office. The deadline to fill out a bracket is Thursday, 3/21, by 11:00 AM. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Do you have a Polyvore account? If not, you should consider. Â You can browse clothes, browse trends, create outfits, and make purchases. Â Basically, it's like being the editor for Vogue and picking out beautiful clothing - until reality sets in and you actually have to pay for said clothes if you want them.
Banana Republic recently launched a third installment of their collaboration with Mad Men, and we're fans. Â K made the set below, inspired by her BR + MM necklace purchase (featured).Â

"we're into it" Wednesday: 3.13.13
Happy Wednesday! With both of us back in our respective homes after quick trips to Floridaland (H) and Canandaland (K), weâre glad to be back in a routine, even if only for a few days. Â This weekend, H is hosting several sorority sisters for a St. Pattyâs Day binge. Â K leaves for Vail in 10 days (update on whether or not sheâs capable of skiing to follow). Â So with that said, this week weâre into simple pleasures - things that are simply enjoyable, cherishable, and altogether necessary. Handwritten thank-you notes Sending a âthank youâ via text can take all of 10 seconds. Â Sending a âthank youâ via email may take a minute or two because you include a quite personal life update. Â Our generation operates in the immediate - sending messages and thoughts digitally rather than waiting for a phone call or having a godforsaken conversation in person. Â But sometimes, taking that extra bit of time to send a real, live paper card (yes, they still exist) can really go a long way. Â And besides, some people deserve to be thanked even if it gives you a slight hand cramp. Â Weâre firm believers in sending each other real birthday cards, and trust us, theyâre presh. Â Hâs recent birthday card to K read, âI hate everyone who isnât you.â #truefriends.
Sending a person a handwritten card instantly gives the words on the page more credit - it shows you care enough to put down your phone or laptop and focus on acknowledging that person in your life. Boozy brunches Sometimes, you have to get out of the kitchen and straight up treat yourself. Â Weâre talking about the works - bellinis, mimosas, banana bread, egg cloud casserole, Bloody Marys - Â need we say more? Â Itâs fun to sleep late and make a fun breakfast with your roomies & friends at home, but we think sometimes basking in the glory of being served delicious breakfast food in an adorable restaurant is just downright necessary - even if youâre still wearing (read: rocking) last nightâs eyeliner and/or probably shouldnât look at your most recent texts. Â At least the conversation will be interesting. Â Being inspired

(image via Rolling Stone) Dancing to a party girl jam just because you can Taylor Swiftâs music video for â22â came out today, and with our resident fangirl H present to dissect it in full, weâre happy to say that weâre mega fans. The song celebrates being a young twenty-something with an excuse to still be immature or mischievous or mysterious, all while having a  great girlfriend by your side. We appreciate that.
Do you have any fun plans to celebrate leprechauns and drink green beer this weekend? Â We hope you donât get pinched. xoxo,
"we're into it" Wednesday: 3.6.13
Welcome to another #WIIW post! This week in particular we look ahead to the arrival of spring and participating in outdoor activities other than sludging through the snow. Plus, we have a couple wonderful new items that we think you need in your life. Read on... Levi jeans A classic clothing company founded in the 1800s, Levi Strauss & Co. brings American pride and joy to the wearer of the denim. Â We like Leviâs because they come in approx 1,000 different styles, are true to size, arenât redonkulously expensive, and just make us feel proud to be American. Â They also have really fun commercials (check out their YouTube page for all sorts of vids). Â We encourage you to snag a new pair of Leviâs skinnys ASAP, just in time for spring clothing purchases.
Image via Levi Smithâs Rosebud Salve We think this lip product (available at stores like Sephora, Urban Outfitters, American Apparel) is fantastic. Because it smells nice & calm like walking through a garden of happiness. Because it is soothing & makes your lips (and/or elbows, hands, etc.) moisturized and rosy. Because it SRSLY lasts for months on end, unless youâre like us and obsessively re-apply.  And because sometimes this tin can of goodness floating around the bottom of your purse is the other thing getting you through a rough day.
Image via Sephora Kindle app We are about to blow your minds. Download the free Kindle app to your phone.  First, make sure your mother or sister or reading fiend of a friend has a Kindle and regularly purchases  #amazeballs novels. Then, coerce them into giving you their Kindle log-in. Now, you have turned your phone into a Kindle and have access to all said Kindle ownerâs purchases. This trick is similar to using someone elseâs Netflix account, of which we obvi approve.  Only instead of watching hours upon hours of Girls, you can read Mindy Kalingâs hilar book, or Wonder by R.J. Palacio, or Dark Places, Gillian Flynnâs latest thriller. Making lists This one is kind of obvious, considering we create our #WIIW list every week. But lists are powerful: whether on a piece of paper, in an iPhone note, in your brain, or in multiple Gchat messages (a common way K & H share their thoughts about things, particularly future #WIIW topics even when weâre on deadline for work projects), lists keep you organized and focused.  It also feels really great to cross things off your list, because it means youâre being a bosslady and making things happen. This hilariously perfect Internet photo find
Randomly found here. A couple other things we are excited about: St. Patrickâs Day is around the corner, The Bachelor finale is next week, H ventures to Florida this weekend, and K is off to Canada. Oh, and the biggest news of the week... strides are being made toward a cure for type 1 diabetes: http://www.diabetesresearch.org/biohub. Yeah, Iâd say we are most definitely into that. xoxo,
"we're into it" Wednesday: 2.27.13
Hi friends, it has been a while since our last #WIIW. This week we are doing our bests to avoid the onslaught of snow and slush outside our windows while seeking comfort in our Mizzou snuggies and New Girl reruns. Here are a couple things we are into this week, enjoy! Clinique Chubby Stick Intense What is it about wearing lip color that makes women feel instantly more mature, ladylike, and fabulous? Perhaps itâs because we arenât wearing a Dr. Pepper Lip Smuckers or sticky, sparkly, way-too-pink lip gloss, but whatever the case, we love it.  Our current fave source of lip color comes from Clinique, a high-quality, tried-and-true and dermatologist-recommended makeup & skincare line that never disappoints: Chubby Stick Intense.  These moisturizing sticks of wonder have mango and shea butters to make your lips smooth, and come in eight shades that are not too opaque but not too sheer - the perfect solution for us lip color newbies.  Our current faves are Roomiest Rose (perfect for dressing up errand-running Pixie Pants or providing the cherry-on-top effect to a killer LBD) and Curviest Caramel (perfect for a work blazer, perfect with a smoky eye at a bar).  At $16 a piece, theyâre easy to throw one (or a few) in a purse or clutch and provide a foolproof finishing touch to any - and we mean ANY - look. Â
Looks easy to use, right? It is. Â Check out the full collection here.
ThoughtCatalog.com Thought Catalog is a collection of short stories, reflections, lists and more, all written to provide entertainment and promote thoughtful thoughts - hence, âthoughtâ catalog. Â It also serves to distract us from our daily to-do lists... #DETAILS. ThoughtCatalog.com is an online portal where writers can submit pieces to be published. Some pieces are casually funny, others teeter on sad, and all are thought-provoking. Before long, you will find yourself on page 19 of the website and an hour behind the schedule of your life. Whether you are looking for a place to waste a couple minutes or donât feel like committing to/cannot afford a 300+ page novel, check out ThoughtCatalog.com. 21 More Things I've Learned in my 20's
Chobani yogurt We both love yogurt because itâs a good balance of protein/carbs, it is easy to pack for work lunches, and keeps you full better than a banana or a bag of Skittles. Â We particularly love Chobani Greek yogurt because of itâs awesome flavors and thick-but-not-too-thick texture. Blood orange yogurt? Weâre in. Â Chobani also just recently came out with a dessert-focused product, called Bite, that has some very intriguing flavors; one even has fig. #fancy. Chobani provides a quick, delicious treat no matter what time of day it is, and keeps our stomachs content & minds focused to be #bossladies in all life endeavors.
Image via Chobani.com
PS: Kâs firm does PR for Chobani; therefore, by eating it, she feels she is simultaneously doing her company and her self a favor. Jennifer Lawrenceâs Existence We both constantly fangirl over the awesomeness that is J.Law. Sheâs a child of the 90s, sheâs insanely beautiful, she can rock any hair color, she has a great sense of humor, she likes to eat food and talks about it a lot in interviews, she won the Oscar for Best Actress at 22, sheâs KATNISS, and sheâs made out with Bradley Cooper. With her recent Oscar win, we were reminded yet again that she seriously just rocks. Â We salute you, Jen.
Things Jennifer is doing right in this photo: EVERYTHING. Image via Hollywood Life Hereâs to hoping the snow stays pretty and doesnât trap us in our homes. Â After we both had low-key weekends after our Chicago reunion (see previous post), weâre definitely ready to be out on the town, vod+wat+limes in hand.
xoxo,
reunion weekend recap
Last weekend K & H reunited for a quick but fabulous weeekend, where we frolicked all over Chicago â money wasnât an object, no activity was too daunting⊠and unfortunately, no scarf was really warm enough. While no reunion weekend ever seems long enough, we had a fab time â in fact, we had so much fun that each of us were required to take it relatively easy (on ourselves and on our wallets) this weekend as a result.Â
Since itâs been a while since a âWeâre Into It Wednesdayâ post, check out some funsies below from our recent escapades.
Book of Mormon
While we often spend our Sunday afternoons either out to brunch or glued to the couch, we shook things up last weekend by going to see the matinee performance of Book of Mormon. Created by some of the minds behind the vulgar-yet-surprisingly-widespread-in-its-appeal South Park, the musical focuses on a pair of young Mormon missionaries as they venture into Uganda to try and spread the word that is the Book of Mormon. The result is hilarious â the audience has to basically accept the occasional foul (and we mean FOUL) joke or religious slur, and know that the jokes and acting/vocal talent will be some of the best theyâve ever seen. K was fangirling hard over Ben Platt who played Elder Cunningham â you may remember him as the adorkable magic wiz Benjamin Applebaum in Pitch Perfect. H was a particular fan of Pierce Cassedy who played Elder McKinley, a Mormon busy being fabulous but trying to suppress his gay feelings. Overall, the music was outstanding, the lyrics were catchy, the jokes were awkward and/or absurd and/or mostly hilarious, and we absolutely would spend money on tickets to go see it again.

American Apparel Chiffon Oversized Button-up
Qualities we enjoy when it comes to clothing: things that are pretty, things that are reasonably priced, and things that are versatile. We discovered this awesome button-up at American Apparel, and it has all of these things. #FABSTATUS. This oversized button-up chiffon shirt is a great piece because it comes it a plethora of colors (literally, like 25 solids and a bunch of patterns too), itâs in a cool and flowy fabric, and itâs crazy versatile. You can wear it over a tank or under a jacket and make it work-friendly; tie it, roll it, and toss it over a fun swingy dress; or wear it with a bandeau/fun bra for a night out. Seriously, we obsess. H has it in Port (featured below), K snagged it in Red, and we both look forward to adding more colors to our collections. View all the beautiful colors here: http://bit.ly/15dekH3.Â

Homemade Pizza
People love pizza. Various types of cheese, meat and/or delicious sauces, and a great way to carb load (whether youâre trying to voluntarily do so or not).  We got super ambitious while together, and made some delicious homemade zaâs â with the help of our delightfully short and fashionable friend Emily Roger, of course. Pizzas are easy to make in your own home, and oftentimes you can eliminate some of the sketchy grease/oil/preservatives etc. and we appreciate that.  Check out the pic below of our #amazeballs chicken/caramelized onions/goat cheese creation â weâre quite proud of it.
image via K's Instagram & our wondrous domestic capabilitiesÂ
ZZ Ward
Our most favorite recent music discovery is Zsuzsanna Eva Ward â also known as ZZ Ward, the sassy, fedora-wearing bluesy soul singer that we love to love (we also rly appreciate the name abbreviation on her part because we weren't sure how to pronounce a name with multiple Z's & S's). Sheâs sort of like an American Adele, with a crazy set of pipes and womanpower lyrics we totally dig. Her current single, âPut the Gun Down,â is climbing on the alternative charts and we prefer to play it really loud with or without headphones on â or while dancing around Chicagoan apartments together because it just felt right.  Check out the PTGD vid here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5chkHjTNFgk.

That's it for today. Â We're glad you are here & read this post - stay tuned for the return of weekly #WIIW posts, because we're back to blogging in full swing. Â Have a great Sunday - we'll be Oscar-viewing all evening, pretending that we're BFF with J.Law.
xoxo,
the return
Hello pretties,
We're back in the blogosphere. Â Did you miss us? We will be back with new posts starting this week, and we promise to never leave you again.Â
K & H reunited in Chicago this weekend, seeing plays with inappropriate religious comments (i.e. Book of Mormon, which we LOVED), spending money we don't have on clothes that we definitely need, and overindulging in fab food and bevs all over the city. Â
Be back soon - love ya, mean it.Â
merry christmas pretties
With holiday festivities and no Winter Break to allow us time to recharge and relax (oh the constant joys of being in the working world), K & H have both been crazy busy lately. Â Our apologies for not posting our weekly #WIIW the past couple of weeks, but don't worry, we will be back in 2013 with a plethora of new amazeballs finds that we love. Â But for now, we're spending the next couple of days with our families, eating a few too many carbs and indulging in an extra glass (or several) of our fave white wine. Â
Merry Christmas to you and yours. We hope it's wonderful.

"we're into it" Wednesday: 11.28.12
Hello dearest readers,
Last week was Thanksgiving. Naturally, we were busy being thankful for our families, our adorable grandparents, each other, pumpkin pie and of course, you beauties. K&H reunited in KC on Black Wednesday at a friendâs annual chili cook-off, and once again on Saturday for a full night of YouTube-ing celebrities, obvi. Check out some things we are loving this week below.
Perfume Samples
More often than not, women like to smell good. Â We fall into the category of said women. Â Over the years that weâve been friends, weâve experimented with lots of different perfumes. Â Rather than having a signature scent, we prefer things like âday spraysâ (aka, Victoriaâs Secret Sandalwood Vanilla spray that we both love to wear during day activities) to Kâs seasonal let-me-buy-the-perfume-gift-set-thatâs-an-awesome-deal to Hâs sassy Stella McCartney, reserved solely for nights when she gets wild with some vod+waters. Â And lately, weâve realized the brilliance that is perfume samples - you know those little bottles given with larger purchases and/or received randomly with various other products? THEY ARE GENIUS. Â Itâs the most non-committal form of a scent: it doesnât last long because itâs small; itâs a great way to try a scent before buying a big old $80 bottle; AND itâs also an easy way to wear a perfume all day and see if you like how it wears on your body. Â Because perfume people at Nordstrom always tell us that perfumes smell different on people due to your body chemistry. K gets a new perf sample each month in her Birchbox (read about her excitement here), and currently is trying a perfume by MCMC. Have you tried a new scent lately?
One Direction As you know, we are COMPLETE Beliebers (please note perfume commercial above). Â Justin makes us melt - no one can deny the kid has talent. Â However, weâve both recently acknowledged to each other that weâve also fallen victim to the power of the most powerful British band at the moment: One Direction. Weâll keep this brief - reasons why we love them:
The swooning power of one cute male vocalist is multiplied by five.
They all have accents, all of which are adorable.
All of their songs have catchy beats that are easy to listen to. Â They might not be the most profound lyrics, but hey, they do what theyâre supposed to do: entertain.
They like to wear cardigans and blazers. A group of cute dudes singing to us in well-tailored clothing? We die.
K & H have crushes on Louis & Harry, respectively, who also happen to be BFF in real life. Â Itâs basically fate.
Harry & Louis. Oh stop it, you.

Self-gifting The giving season is upon us. While we are hunting for the perfect gift for our mothers, fathers, siblings and bestest friends, we also realize the need to finally splurge on that one item we have been eyeing for awhile now, whether it be the iPhone 5 or a new David Yurman bangle. Â As we have transformed from college girls to total #bossladies, we now have steady incomes and retirement plans. Doesnât this mean we deserve to buy ourselves a little something special? We think yes. In fact, self-gifting is the latest trend according to Time (check out the deets here), and we like to think we are ahead of the retail curve. For our first Christmas as working adults, there will be an extra gift under the tree with our own name on it. And no, it wonât be from Santa.
This was us last week, a couple bevs in after reuniting. Â We look happy. We were.
Cheers - less than a month until Christmas!
