another random darda text post. this time ive been thinking about how its very much possible darda couldve never even known melina was his sister, lmao

the only CONCRETE confirmation we have of that is found in the item description of messmer’s kindling. which even then is vague, and only connects to melina if you put together that she’s the kindling maiden. and well burning (in the kiln) isnt even something ONLY she has done

so unless she tells him outright, hey marika’s my mom, he might not ever fuckin know. on the other end its not like he keeps it some big secret he’s hoarah loux’s son, so if they just get talkative enough to exchange that info then she’d probably put THAT two and two together. 50/50 chance but still a possibility!

rly funny how darda’s default mode is being like |3 but i honestly have more art of him in Serious Mode or being tormented. and hes so tormentable. get yourself a guy suffering not only through the discovery of his family ties and guilt, but also the very physical pain and madness of the frenzied flame

4. What appears in your OC's darkest nightmares?

for literal nightmares, i don't think undead really sleep, nor can she probably remember what her nightmares were when alive... but figurative nightmares? losing herself to hollowing, of course. and i think after a while, the idea of failing shanalotte and anyone else who put faith in her is a real fear of hers. she's no longer having to fulfill this journey just for herself anymore, you know?

5. What is your OC's moral code?

from the very beginning, her concept was "someone who idealizes knighthood to a foolish extent". a don quixote of sorts. artur strives to protect the good and punish the wicked, but of course, sometimes you just need to kill whatever's in your way in DS2... i think the giant lord's fight was difficult for her to justify. killing aslatiel, too.

eventually she sombers up in her approach to things; not quite giving up her ideals, but understanding what it takes to uphold them. even if it's all built on a lie like aldia says, isn't it still a nice one, to believe in humanity? isn't that worth something?

anyway did you know ive also got some dragon npcs in the back. isnt it weird how all the dragons are enemies and none allies, huh (bar the one in ash lake and sortaaaa the ancient dragon in ds2)

baloryx is in dark souls. a straggling survivor from gwyn’s war, he hid away in darkroot garden until he was covered in moss and near-indistinguishable from the surroundings. has a huge grudge against seathe, obviously, and aids the chosen undead in their journey to spite the guy

he also lasts all the way into ds3, but idk what he’s doing in the other two games just yet

pontifax is in elden ring. infiltrated into raya lucaria disguised as a human, as the study of glintstone sorcery intrigued him. not much else yet but he’s a decent guy who was a professor for a while

i have some humanoid concepts for them laying around somewhere too, i’ll have to find them later. art here is by my partner btw not mee
