a bit of a different post but i’ve been so obsessed with cleradin recently and decided to make my own little head cannon about it! in this Will still goes by “Will the Wise” but he’s a wizard rather than a cleric (he’s also a half-elf because i love pointy ears). I’m thinking the main four all grew up together in a small town on the outskirts of a kingdom in a land where necromancy is forbidden magic that corrupts its user. Their town falls under attack by a rivaling kingdom (Creel maybe??) and the four boys watch as guards, rangers, fighters, and almost every line of defense is killed. Miraculously they survive, others, however, don’t. After this they move to the inner city and Will starts to learn and apply for an academy to become a magic user. Will eventually gets accepted into the academy and is gone for several years. The other 3 remain in the town and eventually end up working for different areas of the kingdom (Dustin the Bard an entertainer and storyteller, Lucas the Ranger is the leader of the castles defense, and Mike the knight who is apart of the Royal guard.)
Will eventually returns and becomes the kingdoms wizard, performing healing spells to those who are injured, creating potions, casting protective spells, etc. Mike and Will start getting closer, reminiscing, and just generally spending time together. As they grow closer, Will has to try and hide that he’s been performing necromancy spells from the others. eventually it gets to the point where he is visibly fatigued and the consequential marks start to show. His reasoning for doing it all? An undead army would spare the lives of those who serve the kingdoms defense, as he doesn’t want to see more lives taken in battle. Especially since Mike is now a guard.
I might see what races I want everyone to be because i think them all being human would be boring lol. I also might post some actual byler later so we’ll see. this is just a really rough outline and I don’t know if it’s good or not but ima roll with it because i’m having way too much fun drawing! hope people enjoy!
