It's funny when many people assign the character Chance some significant role in the future content, even though the actor said in interview that he wasn't even supposed to have a name
My face when someone ships the Party (especially Mike and Will) with one of the jocks:
As if they aren’t ready at any moment to kick their asses for bullying Dustin, and also after all their hatred towards Eddie, who wasn’t guilty of anything.
There's something to the fact that Sam has a similar head wound as Mike in season 5
The Borough spoiler! It ends with a starry sky just like Season 1 of Stranger Things begins :)
The actor who played Carlton said in an interview that he was supposed to have some lines, and in the storyboards his role was labeled “College Boy.” In the end, his role lasted less than five seconds and was just him sitting next to Will in the bar.
Recently I saw a TikTok saying that maybe the new content will begin in 1993 or somehow be connected to that time period (the bill from Season 3 showing 1993, Nikki listening to a song that came out in 1993, and so on).
It made me think: if all of this is Mike’s Camazotz (for now I’m reasoning within that theory), could we see more Will/Carlton scenes as the worst manifestation of Mike’s fear? Or alternatively, maybe we’ll see an alternate version of the bar scene where Will’s hairstyle wasn’t changed and Carlton isn’t playing Will’s boyfriend, but something else entirely. Who knows.
But I really hope we don’t get overly obvious romantic subtext or scenes like that between Will and Carlton, even within the framework of Camazotz.
Honestly, the amount of made-up “facts” about Season 5 spreading through the fandom is impressive.
For example, that Robin is supposedly meant to be a mentor for two people, or that Caleb said the word “traitor” (when he 100% said “Zenith”). I went through all the articles and videos, but I still couldn’t find any confirmation for these “facts.”
Guys, does anyone have any articles about how the Johnlock incident differs from Conformitygate? Or, if you were deeply involved in that whole situation, could you explain why new Stranger Things episodes have a higher chance of existing than a secret Sherlock episode?

I genuinely feel bad for the people who spent money on that interview. At this point I’m starting to question the Duffers’ judgment, because this feels like misleading the audience. They promised answers to all the questions, but in reality they just repeated things that had already been said a hundred times before. I would’ve asked for a refund — it’s so unprofessional and awful on their part.
Can you imagine the possibility that new content comes out, but with a new cast, a different time period, and so on? Honestly, I wouldn’t want to watch a show like that
I honestly hope that on May 13 the Duffers somehow pull everyone back into Conformitygate, because otherwise I don’t understand the point of their “experiment” or what exactly they’re trying to prove.
99.9% of viewers already seem completely detached from the show — people are angry about everything, and I genuinely don’t know what would have to be in the new content (if it even exists) to shift the audience’s opinion in a positive direction.
Previously abandoned this “theory” because it truly felt so ridiculous to me, but the more I find for it the more it makes me want to peel my skin off my flesh (/pos). I’m so serious I downloaded twt just so I could get related screenshots, I fucking hate that app
Basically I think a wedding is possible and foreseeable. Maybe 👀
I’m adding onto this post. Though I’m less focused on the Mike/Hopper parallels.
1 - Korra & Asami / Legend of Korra:
The Stranger Things writers mentioned Korrasami three times, all replying to asks regarding their favorite ship. ( 1 / 2 / 3 ) There’s also this post, which I found funny. They mention Korra & The Legend of Korra alone a lot if you search on their account, which is the show this scene occurred!
Additional notes about Korrasami:
They officially became canon in the last episode of the 4th and last season of Legend Of Korra, though “ambiguously” as it was still 2014.
In July 2015, their relationship was further and more explicitly developed via the Turf Wars comic series.
And as the post mentions, that scene parallels a couple getting married, and their “vacation” can be synonymous with a honeymoon (though Korra and Asami aren’t canonically ‘married’). That’s what I’m focusing on.
I consider this one of the weaker links of this theory, but still important. Korrasami being mentioned at all is standard byler proof in general, along with Jack and Doug (this entire post is a theory itself) and catradora, incase you needed the refresher.
2 - Jopper/Jancy Parallels:
Maybe I wasn’t the only one, but while watching season 5, I found myself wondering why was there so much marriage talk this season? Well maybe it means something >_<
Jonathan and Nancy’s “unproposal”, and Joyce and Hoppers engagement.
Byler already gets paralleled to both of these couples a lot. S5 Jopper is already shown in the initial post, but here’s more for reference since I’m too lazy (and on a time crunch) to put all of this together myself: Jancy/Byler PT 1 - Jancy/Byler PT 2 - Jopper/Byler PT 1 - Jopper/Byler PT 2
And that season 4 end card. Oh boy.
Additionally, while we don’t actually see this, Mike talks about Lucas and Max going to a village and “settling down as their love grows”, which usually implies marriage — Lumax/Byler parallels (linked the masterpost since that’s just easier. Truly thank you ..)
3 - An Ending Like Schitt’s Creek:
My personal favorite.
Interesting you mention that..
Schitt’s Creek ended April 7th (!!), 2020, with the episode ‘happy ending’.
The epsiode primarily follows David and Patrick as they’re set to get married.
However, their plans are ruined because a rainstorm hits.
(+ all the other references to rain and shit during and after s5… ifykyk really)
We are in the rainstorm !! currently!! It’s raining it’s pouring AND the old man is SNORING!
Nonsense aside— they move indoors, into the town hall. David’s mom Moria officiates them. Alexis, David’s sister walks him down the aisle. However, she wore a white dress, which caused confusion and made it appear as if she was the bride to Patrick.
The “Jazzagals” perform for Patrick and David = Murray gives Jonathan a ring hidden in a Jazz tape + similar music plays as Hopper proposes to Joyce.
The next day, David’s parents move out of Schitt’s Creek into California (like Joyce and Hopper who move to Montauk), and Alexis moves to New York (where Montauk is actually located).
I think we’re missing the wedding.
4 - Oklahoma/Dark Side Of The Moon:
The finale we saw was the Dark Side of The Moon— it’s the play El, Kali and Max (appear to) walk into, then there’s “The Dark Side Of The Moon” by Pink Floyd (remember the many PF refs, especially in season 5: poster in the cabin, poster in mikes room, songs on the wsqk vinyl), and of course the sync to the finale.
Like Henry said, “performing a silly, terrible play, day after day” and as Joyce promised: It was the play within the play. We were promised many things we never got, we were told we were getting Oklahoma and we got The Dark Side Of The Moon.
Then how about Oklahoma? How does that end? Oh, with a wedding, of course!
Love is what weeee found.. the second time arouuunnd!
Though actually that ending also involves a lot of jealousy, death and overall insanity, so let’s hope that at least most of it .. doesn’t apply.
5 - Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen
I think The Duffers have been involving themselves with certain productions intentionally. Exit 8, The Boroughs.. all of it can, in some kind of way, tie back to Stranger Things.
And I think SVBIGH is the most significant tie-in of them all.
(Remember the figures in svb? Mike and Will next to eachother, El separate)
Not completely of course— this is still a show created and written by queer woman, Haley Z. Boston, who deserves to have her work credited and separate from Stranger Things, as I think most of it is. I just think, again, the Duffers chose to produce this show intentionally.
SVBIGH and its plot focus on a few things: >>marriage<<, soulmates, and curses.
Short and vague rundown: Rachel and Nicholas (referred to as Nicky .. Nikki..?) are set to be engaged in New York. Upon learning about curse on Rachel’s family, one that entails if a Cunningham doesn’t marry someone they believe is their soulmate, they will die and pass on the curse to their lovers bloodline. She starts to doubt if Nicky is her true soulmate. They have a talk about fate that I think really parallels Mike and El. They talk about how children are vessels. At the alter, because Rachel ends up not marrying Nicky, she dies and the curse passes onto him. However, she does get resurrected to become a “Witness” to each new curse.
Not much to say besides remember when they said they had tried to envision a “happy ending” for El where she was married to Mike, but they couldn’t?
Again, I don’t think SVBIGH/ST have mostly anything to do with each other, they’re both their own individual stories. Not to say they don’t overlap at all, though. This was just interesting, and notable to me.
6 - ?? Whatever this was
^ From Finn’s SNL skit where he imitates a Duffer
Whatev that mean :..
Small Additions:
That one clip that said “Joyce, Will and Mike Byers” (Micheal Byers canon)
Also churchgate.
Essentially: Let’s start a new party, you and me.
That’s all I got. For now. My head is sort of jumbled right now, there’s a lot going on (in general but also in my life) but I know I’ll have more soon. I’ll add another half dedicated to churchgate soon. I’m nervous.. but I just wanted to get this out, lmao..
I gasped when I read this.
But will we see the original with Byler?
How do you feel about theories built around the idea that Hawkins is a government experiment and our characters are its participants? Mainly, this would imply that our characters never actually left Hawkins — Lenora, New York, Russia, and so on — and that everything we see is happening in a way similar to Project Nina in Season 4.
i miss clouds. I miss @upsidedownlurker
They told me to enjoy the silence…
HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO ENJOY THE SILENCE WHEN YOU SET MY HOME ON FIRE AND BURNED EVERYTHING IN IT TO THE GROUND?!
And the fact that they’re rewriting Byler scenes for mileven in TF85 does not give them the benefit of the doubt — they keep causing even more damage with every project/statement. It’s a blatant case of mocking their most devoted audience, and I’m not sure new content will be able to make up for it.
