it’s doubly awful because AVID is a program for college readiness, and kids in AVID are generally B/C students who’ll be the first college attendee in their family. the goal of the class is to get students ready for college, build study and social skills, and boost their self esteem. as a former AVID tutor of nearly three years, this is the antithesis of what the program is about and it’s disgraceful.
