i don’t know. there’s a difference between actually respecting someone’s conscious choice to contribute to the suffering and murdering of animals and not actively try to antagonize people about it. i do not respect my family’s and my oldest friends’ decision to continue supporting animal oppression but i don’t spew out hate on them for it. i think there’s a difference. i don’t respect that decision but i’ve come to realize that preaching to them constantly is not the best way to go, that i’ve planted seeds and that they have to find out more in their own time.

the reason i became vegan is because i realized that we have absolutely no right to use animals the way we do when we don’t have to. it is not a personal choice because it doesn’t just affect the consumer.

edit: sorry, missed the first sentence somehow lol. well i think it’s incredibly misleading if you claim to be vegan yet have twisted the entire movement’s message around to your own welfarist opinion. and well, if you truly believe that it is cool to kill animals if you do it humanely you really aren’t vegan

just sitting here on my own on walpurgis night cursing the concept of lacto-ovovegetarianism who the hell came up with that idea? like a vegetarian sandwich is the one with "just mozzarella" and the sausages in the frozen-food section are all "ovo-vegetarian" and in a restaurant i went to recently two of the three vegetarian options were "halloumi salad" and "feta cheese salad" (and the last one was avocado salad and it had feta cheese in it as well, i found out when i asked about i)???? you know what though it'd be more okay if it "vegetarian" wasn't equated with "lacto-ovovegetarian" because apart from semantically (why the fuck would that word include anything from animals anyway) it just normalizes the eating of eggs and milk and it's just all so incredibly stupid and then we're all deemed as extreme and i think it's partly due to this damn lacto-ovovegetarian shit

something that i find to be both funny and tragic is that whenever the discussion of veganism arises in my family (never triggered actively by me but somehow the topic is very interesying) i deliberately try to mince my words, and do everything i can not to actively lay blame and to be as non-aggressive as possible, they still take offence and they still get mightily pissed off each and every time well all i can hope for is that it'll be as obvious to them as it has become to me one day

it was an awful thing to do to stephanie. but she, just like matthew, really should have noticed that jackson and april were supposed to be together. she had to have seen it coming. why else would he have not wanted to go to the wedding? that right there would have been enough for me to see that they still had major feelings for each other.

i just think its funny that stackson shippers were so dead set on them being endgame. there was nothing there! no backstory…no friendship….no chemistry. she was just…there. literally. don’t you think stephanie deserves someone who actively wants her and pursues her? not someone who used her as a distraction? i do. i would rather die than be the person someone settled for. you want to be with the person who can’t live and can’t breathe without you. i don’t hate stephanie, i just hated “stackson”. it made no sense to me, much like mapril. there had what maybe three scenes together before her proposed. is this real life? his naivety is sad, yet amusing at the same time.

i am a japril shipper to the core, have been for three years and i just have to ask: why do you feel the need to do this? is it because you're afraid stackson somehow might happen again after all that (because i don't understand what the purpose might otherwise be)? why do so many japril shippers feel the need to be this rude about the whole thing? i don't get the hatred that has to be directed at stephanie, stacksn and her fans, when, in fact, both jackson and april have been portrayed as equally responsible in this whole mess. and that's the way it was written and it means that, ultimately, stephanie and matthew have been humiliated (stephanie more so, not willingly entering a relationship with someone she knew was always going to have feelings for some other person) and that stephanie, as a major character, deserves more than derision. i honestly don't understand why we can't acknowledge that even though what jackson did was awesome from a strict japril perspective, in all other lights it was a really shitty thing to do. he waited until the last possible moment to publicly declare his feelings during a wedding ceremony, humiliating both stephanie and matthew, very needlessly (that is, he should've stopped denying his feelings way sooner). and i for one hope that this fact will be given justice in the episodes to come, at the same time that i hope jackson and april will finally be together again.
