I really wanna cop 2 or 3 of those smaller too faced eyeshadow palettes from U/TA and I wanna know how to take one . How do the packages not make the sensors go off if they have barcodes on the back??been asking around and still haven't got any answers. Help a sis out

I just went to one in a rich area and found 2 pairs of lululemon shorts for $7 and Nike running shorts for $5 but I didn’t have $19 to spare for them. I need more clothes to exercise in because mine are from high school when I was 120 lbs and mama ain’t that small anymore.
Girl, get it. For one thing, you can find incredible finds here. Two, no tags. Three? They boast a 501©3 status. What this means is that they are not subject to paying income taxes.Buuuuuut….. Not cool, reason being is because you’re also stiffing your server. They depend on tips (if you’re in America, servers only make $2.13 an hour, no matter if they’re a big chain.)

My Suhphora is such a joke omg I love it. I walked in and two employees in fragrance were goofing off with their backs to me, and the other SA was engaged in a high-drama conversation with her two friends. Add in only one cashier with a huge line and it made for a fun grab n go.
I have to credit a fellow lifter with the Adidas shirt recommendation, sadly I can’t remember or find her URL but she recommended the shirt in a “favorites” post.

one time i had a dream that Reverse Shoplifting was an epidemic like people would buy shit from one store and put it in another one like someone would get a shirt from the Gap and stick it in Forever 21 or whatever and it became such an epidemic that stores would ban other brand’s shopping bags from entering their stores but people just started putting them in their own purses and shit and sticking it on a hanger and eventually it got to such a huge level that LP would follow people through malls to make sure they never put shit back dreams are crazy

barcodes don't make sensors go off, look for RFID stickers. there are tons of guides on ulta in this community, i'm no expert though so you're better off just lurking for a while honestly

OMFG i beeped walking out of urban today and i was SO SCARED like my heart was in my throats and the dude looked in my brandy shopping bag, stared directly at the set of stolen earrings, then looked in my purse which luckily had nothing in it, and mumbled “ya u good” and let me walk out BLESSED

urban is the fucking devil. if its not spider wrapped or tagged it has at least one RFID. i’ve seen phone cases with two on them before. be careful! they often hide the RFID under the barcode.

tbh it makes sense that their tagging security is so tight because their employees are typically lazy and they barely have cams. it reminds me of american apparel.

Okay, stop fucking opening your bags for employees. A sales associate cannot do anything to you, keep walking, don’t look back. We should not be encouraging the behaviour of giving ourselves up. Yet I see countless posts with this behaviour empathized with and encouraged. Unless someone has tackled you, you are actually spelling your own doom.

Now how about this? You keep walking, and the minimum wage sales associate with no training or certification in law enforcement or loss prevention ASSAULTS a random citizen on his or her way out the door, because, well, a machine said so. That’s even MORE ridiculous.
Okay, so when we see someone opening their bags willingly for a store employee with no rights and no qualifications, let’s remind them not to. Keep walking. Do not look back. When you reach the towers, prepare to keep walking no matter what the sound. TRUST ME. They can’t do anything short of tackling you, which would NEVER be allowed. Even a security or loss prevention person, get AWAY. It is your responsibility not to give in, but to get out. Until you’re on the floor and overpowered, it’s your responsibility not to give in. These are NOT the police. You will not be tazed, you will not be shot by a store worker. Any physical course of action would be assault. Prepare for it nonetheless, but, my God, please do not give into it.
I’ve also seen comments on here I believe from people who live in Australia saying the store workers are legally entitled to see inside your bags. LOL HOW THE HELL DO THEY ENFORCE THAT? They better have police inside each of their shitty stores, or else its just as laughable as saying that jaywalking or littering is a punishable-by-law offense and absolutely CANNOT be done because jail!!! Okay, so you don’t follow the law that mandates theft is illegal, but this ridiculous, stupid, invasive, difficult-to-actually-put-into-effect law is the ONE you CHOOSE to follow? Seriously?
Every time I see a post like, “hide your magnet here incase they look in your bags!” I want to scream. Stop fucking opening your bags for these losers. In fact, y'all need to accept that if the police are actually called and you’re taken to jail, they will find your shit wherever you hide it. @beaniebooster is exactly right. Say “No, I’m not comfortable with a stranger going through my things” and move on. If they don’t give up and start really insisting that they need to search your bags then ask “Are you a member of law enforcement? or Do you have a warrant to detain me and search me or my bags?”. The point being you don’t want to be of the mindset that you will allow any stopping or searching.
If you let them search you the call to the police will be, we stopped this person and found these items on them that don’t have a receipt. If you don’t then the call is, this person set off the towers and would not let us search them, we have no idea if they have any of our merchandise or if our towers just screwed up.
Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself moving. I kinda of chant in my mind “walk, walk, walk” as I’m going out the doors, remember that a few of the stores have policies that say they cannot stop you if make it off the sidewalk. Of course this does not mean that an aggressive lp or sa won’t follow you further or that you have made a clean getaway, but it ups your chances a whole bunch.

i was with a huge group of friends, and it was literally a tiny set of earrings. the employee was standing right by the door, there was nothing i could do… i do know the protocol, but in this particular situation there was nothing i could do. my fault for lifting with non-lifting friends, i know. but it was a tiny set of earrings… i literally didn’t care if he found them

...it wouldn't have affected my future. they didn't cost more than $15, the most he could have done is ask for them back. obviously i would care if it were something bigger but it wasn't. chill
