Light Yagami He Him
❝ If granting life is the work of Gods;
Then I shall be the greatest God this world has seen. ❞
AU info [subject to change \ in the works]
Instead of killing a person, the death note can rather bring people back from the dead.
The person will retain their form upon resurrection— decayed, skeletal, wounded, missing or disarranged organs in case of autopsy.
The person will have no past memories, future desire, display of emotion or any sigh of "life". Turning them into a clueless, breathing, brainless being. The meaning of their life ended with them.
They will be medically alive with a beating heart. [Incase of a missing heart the body will collapse upon resurrection]
Light can dictate a few things before their resurrection— what they should know, having them retain a healthier form [limited, depends on the condition of the body], what emotion will they feel after waking.
He can no longer control them after they wake.
The resurrected can be killed by mortal wounds like a normal person, whether they age is undetermined.
But no matter what he tried, the people he resurrected would never be "human" forever devoid of "life". After all, no sentence— no matter the length— can dictate what "life" is to a human.
...
Right?
Light
He is driven by the obsession of bringing a true "human" back from the dead.
Has experimented whether or not the time passed from the point of death has any effect; by resurrecting criminals just after their death sentence. No difference is reported.
Believes once he figures out the "command of life" he will become the true god.
Plans on granting himself perpetual life by writing his resurrection before killing himself.
"Kira" case + L
The Kira case is different, since instead of a series of criminal deaths, L has his hands full with—
Empty graves; accompanied by brainless "doppelgangers" of the deceased, criminals regaining life moments after their death sentence— only to show no sighs of intelligence, previously unknown persons or reported "doppelgangers" stuck in a constant emotion or goal, reports of - ghosts, walking corpses, decaying skeletons with beating hearts, etc.
Light is a part of the task force, helping L search for the reason behind these anomalies as canon.
[the title of Kira is undecided since it is supposed to be the Japanese pronounciation of the word killer, or; whether or not someone by the name of "kira" exists is still in the works]
Ryuk & Shinagami's
Undecided, possibly may own the canon death note, gave light this "death" note to see what a mortal would do with it.
