i got say for a studio that puts soooooooooo much love and effort into texture detail, for a studio that did
they even animated the same freckles in older!hiccups design!!

i mean especially for a dragon design in a httyd movie it looks like shit i mean
even the fucking 2bit bad guy’s dragon has really cool texture detail and design
and when compared to how textured and detailed toothless is, makes this look even worse.
like feminization of her aside, it just looks bad in general, she looks like she was made by some b-rated studio trying their hand at computer animation for the first time. SHE LOOKS LIKE A NOODLE?! LOOK AT THIS?!?!?!?!
she looks like she was designed by a small production studio that doesnt have the budget for shading nevermind rendering detail texture, not by a big studio like dreamworks in a huge franchise like httyd.
its LAZY. it looks LAZY, it feels LAZY. ok sure shes sparkly but why couldnt they have leaned into that, make her looks sharp and pointy like ice crystals or diamonds, make her look like shes pretty to look at but deadly to touch. or if you want to make her looks sleek, make her look snake like, make her look like shes too quick to catch, or too slippery to touch. i dont want this noodle with wings.
