It wasn't so much that Dan Heng felt insulted or offended by the waters' seeming rejection of him, but rather that he felt dejected. As one whose own mother had been a Bathysmal Vishap, and whose mother's identity had been a source of immense secrecy due to the way the Vishaps were mistreated in the world, seen as creatures that had been conquered rather than another part of Teyvat's vast, colorful tapestry.

Part of him had hoped that a place that had rejected the Heavenly Principles would be a better judge of him than he was of himself, as that doubt had grown deafening. The world was changing at a startling rate, and part of him was desperate for certainty. To just know that something was right, that there were answers still within his reach.

"Iudex... are your ambitions still the same? Will you judge Lord Morax someday soon, or is that possibility as distant as a star? As an Adeptus... I hope you can understand why I'm asking."

Neuvillette ears would flick for a moment at the reaction. It is true that the ludex was not the best to judging emotions and or reading them, but he could at lest tell that his answer was not a comforting one. Instead seeming to be the opposite as he would glance back towards the waters.

If he were to spend more time in Fontaine, perhaps the waters would grow used to him and give a more positive response? Perhaps it was due to Fontaine being the city of Hydro, but it was more welcoming then not to fello creatures of water to their land.

Ears are quick to perk up at the question, gaze hardening in resolve. " My ambitions remain the same. Prefer it would be some day soon then later as judgment can not be escaped forever "
