so okay,, I think it's canon that dazai can only neutralize abilities if he touches the person, right? (if it's not, then let's just assume it works like this for a sec)
like,, he can do nothing against chuuya's "gravity balls" (I have no idea what they're called) when he throws them,,
because imagine:
(this might get hella angsty just so u know)
soukoku is on a mission and chuuya needs to use corruption and by the end of the mission dazai wants to neutralize chuuya
but chuuya goes batshit crazy and he doesn't let him
he doesn't let dazai near him, he isn't even chuuya anymore his body is nearly fully taken by arahabaki
he throws his powers on dazai and hurts him real bad
and dazai is nearly dead and he can't do anything
but he can't stop
he can't die
because chuuya is still in corruption
so he endures the pain and goes on trying
he is in so much pain and there is blood everywhere
but he needs to save chuuya
then finally he reaches chuuya and neutralizes him and everything seems safe again but dazai just breaks down
chuuya doesn't know what's happening, he himself is close to go unconscious but then he sees dazai lying on the ground
and he is barely breathing
"What the fuck did you do? Why didn't you run, it was already too late for me!"
dazai tries to speak his voice is so so small
"Chuuya told me he trusted me-"
