Their design is normally the one you guys are used to seeing, the "new one" in the ref is just their formal clothes that they wear often
"......" Lantern stared upon the rows of towers of purple trees. The night sky barely visible if not for the cleared pathway at their feet. They grip upon their staff, a sense of anxiety arising within.
*I don't like it here. Lantern can we please leave.* Ember replied, currently stationary as she rests upon their staff.
"It.. it'll be fine! There wouldn't be a paper if there were nothing.. r..right?" Lantern replied, pushing down their worry.
*Please, I just have a very bad feeling about this place...*
They paused as they looked at the starry void and the colorful island of the circus behind them. The bright familiarity overshadowed by the dark uncomfort of the forest, with what seems to be such a distance away, when it took barely no time to arrive.
They stayed quiet, turning their gaze ahead as they marched foward on the blue brick path.
Visible from the edge of the circus, an orange and red light was engulfed in darkness.
(Lantern and Ember are now only accessible in Eternity.)
*Someone came in the middle of the night...*
*... Lantern got a new cloak, and ember got a shiny new lantern. Like. the one you hold. there is not a second Lantern. I promise.*

(They sat there, stunned, the colorful scenery a stark contrast to the room before.)

(They stand up, quickly putting their hood back up as they shuffled out of the elevator, using their staff to steady themself.)

At least we're fine, yknow? Let's do what we actually planned to do.

(They continue to bicker as they walked away.)

(They manage to close it, if not right at the last second. The sudden unjamming of the door causing them to fall, looking up at the thing chasing them.)

*… and opens again, back where you once were. The trail you were walking on.*

(You don't have to tell them twice. They get up and start bolting towards the elevator, refusing to look behind them, entrusting Ember to let them know when it's growing near.)

(They freeze as they see the light. They look around, making sure it's clear. Slowly, they ready themself, before crouching down as they move behind another desk, closer to the elevator. They freeze again, making sure it's still clear. They can practically hear Ember yelling at them..)

(In the blink of an eye, Ember retreats back into the lantern as Lantern themself turns on their heel and starts bolting, going the opposite direction of where they saw.. whoever that was.)

(They quickly duck behind a desk, taking off their hood and covering the light of the lantern with their body.)

(Lantern trembles at their sight, but stands firm. Ember emerges, standing next to them, her own hesitance overtaking him before finally speaking.)

(Dread falls upon both, Lantern's grip on their staff wavering as their hands shook. Quickly, they swing while turning. A whoosh heard without a sound of impact.)
*Be quiet! Who the hell are you to call us that!? Quit being a coward and say it to our face!*

(Lantern freezes, looking around frantically as they held their ground.)

(Lantern glaces at Ember. Carefully, they take a step out. Due to their hood, and as well as Ember itself, they can see about one or two feet in front of them. Isn't really useful here though, is it? All the while, unease settles in. This feels all too familiar.)
