👑why is it so heavy?: csb
pairing: soobin x afab!reader word count: 3.2k
synopsis: what is heavier than the burdens of being a princess with normal princess duties being forced to marry a man you do not want or have anything to do with? the heaviness of seeing the prince you want being forced to marry a woman he also does not want. what’s even heavier? the weight of not being able to do anything about it.
genre: royalty!soobin, royalty!reader, arranged marriage, forbidden love, modern day royalty au.
warnings: swearing, cheating, one make out session, mentions of sex, one d!ath joke, no happy ending.
You stared at him. Watching the way his hair parted perfectly and shaped his face. How his smile which showed how bright his teeth were, was enough to melt your heart.
His cream-colored royal jacket with golden buttons and wave design covering his chest and torso made his tanned skin glow perfectly. His tailor really knew what colors looked and matched him beautifully.
He shook hands with the king of the neighboring country, giving him a soft bow.
You couldn’t hear what they were speaking, but that didn’t stop you from tilting your head to give your ear a better listen, even though it didn’t work.
His eyes finally met yours, his already perfect smile growing even wider at the sight of you.
But your smile faded seeing his future wife wrap her around tightly around his waist, causing his attention to be brought to her. His smile wasn’t as wide when smiling at her, but it was still perfect all the same.
He leaned over and kissed the top of her head, her giggles being heard from where you stood.
Prince Soobin, the man of your dreams. Love of your life. Someone you couldn’t have.
You turned around, your hands gripping your royal blue gown.
“Princess,” your caretaker softly said, “You’ll ruin your gown, be more gentle.”
You adored your caretaker, she’s been with you since you were born. Was there when your mother gave birth to you and watched you grow up and even taught you everything you know. She even knew your secrets, and god bless her for keeping them.
She leads you down the hall, taking you to meet your father for your daily lunch in the garden.
If only you saw how saddened the prince's eyes became when you turned your back towards him, watching as you turned the corner and disappeared.
—
“Princess,” Soobin sang, peeking around the pillar you stood at.
The prince was no longer in his princely outfit. Now he wore light blue jeans, black Converse, a white button-up shirt with a black tie, and a brown jacket.
It was what he liked to call his “normal people fit.” You had to admit, you preferred seeing him like this. Without all the royal glamor. Just normal. No titles. Or the reminders.
Soobin also preferred you in “normal people outfits.” Mostly the one you’re wearing right now. The dark blue skinny jeans with white sneakers, a soft pink tank top, and a cream cardigan. It made his heart flutter.
You tilted your head up and smiled at him, the moonlight making his brown eyes pop beautifully.
“Come here,” he whispered, his hand reaching around your waist and pressing your body to his. Lips connecting to yours immediately.
You’ve known Soobin your entire life. Your families are really close, both your fathers being lifelong best friends.
You lived in the neighboring country and only took visits to see the royal Choi family when your father had time, which only happened twice to three times a year.
But darkness fell to your country, forcing you and your family to flee. The Choi family took you in with no questions asked. Your father was grateful.
The war happening on your territory was brutal, your family worried you would never be able to return. But alas the war ended a couple of years after. But obviously, your family never returned home.
King Choi extended his home to your family, setting a good deal with your father for the two of them to just rule over this kingdom together. Your father accepted.
You were so young when you fled your country, you barely remember what it even looked like. Your older siblings on the other hand, unfortunately, have to deal with that darkness for the rest of their lives.
So you grew up in the Choi’s castle. You weren’t super close with Soobin at first. You both were super shy and always hid behind your parents or siblings when forced to interact with each other. But as time went on, the two of you dropped the shy act and finally became friends.
Soobin at the age of twelve was then sent off to a boarding school, following in the footsteps of his two older siblings did at that age.
He was gone for years, not returning home until he was twenty.
You were in the middle of your studies at the local cafe in town (that you ultimately snuck out to do) when the word got around that Prince Soobin had returned home after eight years.
You rushed back to the castle, sneaking in through the garden and into your bedroom window, quickly changing into a nice dress and rushing out to greet him in the royal dining hall.
The first thing you noticed was how much taller he was, your once best friend sprouted up. He filled perfectly into his body and you could tell he took into working out. His jawline was so sharp you swore it could cut into diamonds. He grew up nicely.
To say that everything was back to normal would be a lie. Soobin was like a whole different person. He was a man, and oh goodness did he send butterflies in your belly.
Your attraction didn’t go unnoticed by him. No, no, Soobin noticed the moment you two locked eyes again for the first time in eight years. He saw how your pupils dilated, how your chest raised and fell when you looked at him. The unease in your breath when you spoke to him. It sets emotions in place with you that he hasn’t ever felt before.
Of course, when Soobin was away he had his fair share of other females to fit his needs, but none of them had that one thing he wanted. And all it took was locking eyes with you again after all these years to see you were what he always wanted.
Soobin and you spent more time together than you normally did as kids. Sneaking out of the castle or into each other's bedrooms at night. It was obvious the two of you felt something.
He’d steal quick kisses from you in passing during his and your royal duties. Passing notes to you in the halls with times and where to meet him next.
Soobin filled your heart so quickly. Becoming your first of everything.
You remember the night he laid you gently on the grass under the moonlight hidden in the corner of the garden. His hands softly undressed you until you were completely bare to him. Your hands help undress him.
His hands felt so gentle against your skin as he touched you. He touched you with such passion, with so much love.
The way his bare skin felt against yours sent you into heaven as his hips rolled into yours, biting the edge of his shoulder to keep your moans from getting too loud.
Your secret relationship was beautiful, perfect, and filled with so much love and care. The two of you were finally ready to come forward about your relationship of almost a year.
Unfortunately, that wouldn’t happen.
Both your fathers had other plans. King Choi found the “perfect match” for his son, announcing the arranged marriage. And your father, bless his dear heart, found a suitor for you as well, arranging a marriage for you as well.
Soobin remembered clenching his fist and yelling at his father at the dinner table that night. You sat silently beside him, eyes locked onto your plate of food.
“And what if I don’t want to marry?!” Soobin snapped, his fists slamming on the table.
“And that’s something you can’t control!” the king fired back, “It’s already been done. We didn’t send you off for eight years to enhance your languages and studies for nothing!”
That angered Soobin even more, “So I am just some thing to be sent off for your own personal gain?!”
The king sat quietly. Soobin’s mother also sat quietly, her hands in her lap.
Your family also said nothing. Eyes glancing between the Choi family.
“You’ll be wed by the age of twenty-four,” his father finally said, “You’ll be meeting your princess in two days. Fix your attitude before then.”
Soobin said nothing and stormed out of the dining room.
You were also to be wedded off by twenty-four. You were a couple of months younger than Soobin, meaning you’d be the one to watch him get married off first.
It’s been two years since that conversation. Soobin was scheduled to be married off shortly after he turned twenty-four in December. Only seven months away.
You and Soobin kept secretly seeing each other, only now you had to be even more careful than before.
Soobin’s future wife moved into the castle shortly after they met. Thank god she had her own room though.
You also met your future husband not too long after the other princess moved in. He was sweet, nice, very caring, could sing, rap, dance, and was a big ramen enthusiast. He looked at you like you put the stars in the sky.
Unfortunately for him, you wanted nothing to do with him. A friendship, maybe? But nothing more. Soobin felt the same for his princess. She was sweet, and nice, could also sing and dance, and was even a painter. But he could only take so much being around her.
You two had to fake it until you made it. Praying that one day your families call off the whole thing to begin with. But with only a handful of months left, it was clear your fathers weren’t changing their minds.
Which just brings you two where you are now.
Standing in your spot in the garden that overlooked the city below. Soobin’s hands slid up and down your body as he pressed you between him and the pillar.
His tongue twisted around yours, mixing your salvia together. He rolled his hip into you, feeling his hard length against your stomach, “You never fail to get me so hard,” he whispered against your lips.
You couldn’t help but giggle, “Now now my love, princes don’t speak so naughty like that,”
Soobin smiled against your lips, “Can’t help it when you make me feel this way.”
Soobin always had a small crush on you even as children, it was why he was so shy at the beginning. He took that small crush with him even when he was abroad, thinking maybe that’s why it never worked out with the other females he dated.
But when he came back home and saw how grown up you become, the way your hair was so much longer, how your body filled out to its curves. The way your breasts look perfect no matter the outfit or dress you wore. You were a woman, a woman he wanted to ruin and keep only for himself.
Soobin loved you, so so very much. You held his heart in his hands and held the very power to crush it at your will.
You pulled away from his lips, leaning your head back against the pillar, “Want to hold me while we look at the stars?”
Soobin kissed your forehead, his hands now resting on your hips, “Anything for you, my princess.”
Soobin sat on the grass, his back against the pillar and your back against his chest. His hands are wrapping around you tightly.
You two sat in silence, your head resting against his neck as he was on top of your head.
“Have you had sex with her yet?” you don’t know what caused you to even ask that question. But with only several months left until Soobin was to be wed to her, your curiosity got the best of you.
Due to the fact you're both arranged to be married to two separate people, you’ve both spent most of your time with your fiancés if you weren’t busy with normal royal duties.
“YN…” he said, his arms now falling at his side, “We don’t have to do this.”
You knew you didn’t. But your brain wouldn’t settle down until the question was answered.
“I know,” you whispered, “I’m just asking.”
Soobin bit his lip, leaning his head back against the pillar, “It happened for the first time the other night. She snuck into my room.”
You just nodded. You weren’t mad or even jealous. You understood it was bound to happen. They’ll be married in months. And if Soobin shrugged her off it would be suspicious.
“You and Yeonjun?” his shaky voice asked, “Have you?”
You didn’t lie, just gave him a small nod, “Last night. I wasn’t feeling good and he brought me some tea and read my favorite book to me. It kinda just happened.”
It would take everything Soobin had to not throw a punch at Yeonjun the next time he sees him.
But same as you, Soobin understood there was no choice in the matter. Both of you fought your parents until the bitter end and nothing changed. You had to accept your fates.
“No one can pleasure you like me though,” he said, wrapping his arms back around you, “Only I can.”
You just rolled your eyes and leaned back into him. He was right, but hearing him act so cocky was silly to you. Soobin knew he was it for you.
“YN,” he said with a kiss to your temple, “Let’s run away together.”
You giggled, “That’s a funny joke, where would we even go?”
Soobin just shrugged, “Anywhere you wanted. We could get away from all this. Live normal lives.”
As tempting as that was, you knew your fathers would stop at nothing to bring you both home. You’d both be found out and permanently forced away from each other. It would cause too much trouble. You both knew it.
“Bin,” you whispered, “You know we can’t.”
He did know. And it killed him. Oh, the things he’d do to have a normal life with you. To leave behind this royalty bullshit. To give up his titles and money and status. He didn’t care. He just wanted you.
“What if we just, ya know,” you shrugged, “Suddenly die in each other's arms?” it was a joke obviously, Soobin knew it too by the chuckle that left his mouth.
“You mean like Romeo and Juliet?” Soobin couldn’t help but chuckle again, “That was such a depressing death though.”
You giggled with him, “At least, we’d be together in the afterlife.”
Soobin nodded, “Still a terrible way to go out, the way they did.”
Your phone vibrating in your pocket pulled you back to reality.
Soobin sighed, “It’s Yeonjun, isn’t it?”
You nodded. You didn’t have to check to know that it was in fact Yeonjun. He probably went to your room and saw you weren’t there and was looking for you.
“You should go,” he whispered, standing up from behind you, “What will you tell him?”
Soobin helped you to your feet, dusting off the grass from the back of your legs, “That I was in the library or something. I don’t know yet.”
Soobin just nodded, his hands cupping your face and crashing his lips to yours for the final time for tonight.
“I love you, my princess,” he whispered between kisses.
“I love you too, my sweet prince,” you whispered back, pulling yourself away from him, his hands lingering on your hands as you walked away and his fingertips met with yours and then were gone, watching you quickly rush back inside the castle.
—
The months flew by quicker than you wanted. Yeonjun sat beside you, his fingers rubbing against yours, “This is a very beautiful wedding venue,” he said, eyes wandering around, taking in the building and its Greek architecture as the snow fell outside and covered the windows, “I hope our wedding will be this beautiful or even better.”
You just smiled at him and nodded, “I’m sure it will be,”
Yeonjun couldn’t hold back his smile and leaned forward to press a quick kiss to your lips, “I can’t wait to marry you next week.”
You tried to pull the most genuine smile you could, hoping he wouldn’t see the lies that were beneath it.
How could you be happy right now? The love of your life was going to walk through those doors at any minute and wait for his fiancé. They’d be married soon and everything between you and Soobin would come to an end officially.
The moment you dreaded finally happened. Soobin walked in, everyone gawking at how handsome he looked, asking if he was ready and nervous.
If you didn’t know Soobin, you would think he was actually happy right now. But since you do, you could tell he was bullshitting his whole way through this. The sadness in his eyes and the way he looked at you with Yeonjun was proof enough as it was.
Soobin walked over to you, Yeonjun quickly standing up to shake his hand, “Congrats, man. You’ll be a great husband, I know it!”
You tried to not roll your eyes at your fiancé’s comment. Yeonjun knew you and Soobin were best friends and he tried so hard since moving into the castle to befriend Soobin too. Saying you’d all be a group of best friends soon enough.
Let’s just say Yeonjun is still working on that. Soobin wasn’t giving him the time of day in that department.
All Soobin did was nod and give Yeonjun a fake smile, his eyes darting to you, “You better be a good husband for her. She deserves the world.”
Yeonjun quickly nodded, placing a hand on your back, “I’ll take good care of her, don’t you worry.”
Soobin took one last glance between you two and walked away.
“He looks nervous,” Yeonjun whispered as he sat back down.
No, he just doesn’t like you because you get to marry me and he doesn’t and he’s being forced to marry someone he doesn’t want.
The famous wedding music started playing, and your heart nearly stopped.
The wedding went by quickly, the final vows being told, and Soobin and his princess officially being confirmed as husband and wife. The crowd clapped and cheered.
Soobin took one final look at you, his eyes telling you how much he loved you for the last time before leaning in to kiss his now wife.
You looked down at the floor, hands going limp in your laps.
Yeonjun noticed you, him touching her back, “Baby, what’s wrong? Are you feeling okay?”
You shook your head, quickly standing up after hearing the rest of the crowd stand as well.
Except you were the first to leave your seat and quickly leave the venue.
Soobin’s eyes followed you the whole way, his heart breaking into a million pieces.
You stepped out into the cold, letting the snow fall onto you. You cried. You let the tears fall and your knees buckle down to the ground, your dress soaking up the wet from the snow.
Soobin was no longer yours.
And the weight of that was heavy.
Why is it so heavy? You weren’t meant for each other in the end.
So why was it so heavy?
Why is everything so heavy?

“Okay everyone, come collect your room keys and head to your respective rooms until you are called back down for practice. We will select your team members then.” Heeseung, your game club manager, yelled at the top of his lungs while standing on the hotel's lobby chair.
The professor in charge of this little miniature work/college/vacation clapped his hands twice to signal everyone to line up for their room keys.
“Hopefully I get a room with a balcony!” you rolled your eyes and sighed at the annoying voice in your ear.
You slightly turned to look at Jungwon, a smile spread wide on his face.
He wasn’t even speaking to you, but the fact he had to stand RIGHT NEXT to you when there’s a whole lobby full of other college students in your club he could be standing by.
You finally received your room key from Heeseung, and Jungwon got his right after.
“Y/N! What room do you have?” he cutely asks, trying to peak over your shoulder at the room number on the paper.
You scrunch your nose at him as you turn the paper away from him, “None of your business Yang Jungwon!” You retort, shoving your room key and paper into your jacket pocket.
Jungwon mimics your facial expression adding in his nasty side eye.
Heeseung calls everyone to head to their rooms, and to your dislike, Jungwon was right behind you as you got into the elevator.
“Oh? Going up?” he teased, as the other students filled in behind him.
You ignored him, watching as another student pressed the fourth-floor button. Silently blessing that kid for doing so that is why Jungwon couldn’t see which floor you were on. Because god, if he knew what floor you were on…the ways he would annoy you.
Your heart raced faster at each stop and not seeing Jungwon get off the elevator.
Maybe he was a few floors up?
Finally, the fourth floor was reached, you quickly stepped out, not realizing Jungwon was right behind you.
Jungwon couldn’t help but smile, his hands sliding down into his jeans pockets as his eyes searched for his room number, stopping at his door and seeing you stop at yours.
“No way,” he laughed, making you jump, “Neighbors again for the week!”
You slowly glared at him, making a mental note to unplug your hotel room phone the minute you got inside.
Quickly slapping the room key to the door and hearing it unlock, you rush yourself inside, locking the door and the hard bolt lock for safekeeping.
Dropping your backpack and suitcase to the floor, you fell onto the bed, your face going into the sheets as your favorite baseball hat fell from your head.
The vibrations of your phone pulled you out of your almost nap, your hand reaching into your pocket and pulling the device out.
It was a text from your best friend.
You didn’t even have to explain yourself to her, just your smiley face alone was enough for her to place the puzzle pieces together.
Locking your phone and dropping it by your face and rolling onto your back as you stare up at the ceiling.
It wasn’t always like this with Jungwon, being enemies. You actually have known him your entire life.
You grew up in the same neighborhood, his house being directly across the street from yours. Your parents became friends quickly after they moved into the house across from yours. Your mothers both ended up becoming pregnant around the same time just added to the friendship your families have. What was icing on the cake was you being born a week after Jungwon.
Your mothers always arranged play dates and was not only an excuse for the two of you to grow up as best friends, but a way for them to spend time together. Same with your dads.
The amount of cookouts the families would throw together. You couldn’t even count on your hands and feet with how many times you’ve seen the Yang’s backyard.
It wasn’t just the play dates, your parents made sure you and Jungwon attended the same daycare after they returned to work and even enrolled you both at the same preschool. Your parents would even have the two of you take bubble baths together as infants, and they have pictures to prove it.
Your family was always at their house or them at yours. Heck, even Jungwon’s older sister was tired of seeing you around so often. Not like you could have helped it.
Your friendship with Jungwon slowly started to change once you got into elementary school when the fight to be top of the class with good grades was introduced.
Jungwon and you have always been competitive, even before elementary school. With toys, drawing, board games with the family, and even the stupid little games toddlers play like seeing who can run faster or drink their orange juice faster and not get sick.
Just the competitiveness got worse once grades got involved, and it didn’t stop there. Family nights with board games got worse. Rushing to see who can finish their homework first and get the least amount of questions wrong. Fighting to be at the top of the class. Sports. Band. Taekwondo. You name it, you both probably got competitive over it. Even getting into the same middle and high school was a competition.
It drove your friendship apart halfway through elementary school, and you’ve been enemies since.
But the god giving fate your families have for the two of you to finally makeup, you both were accepted into the same college. You groaned after finding out from your mother that he was also accepted. But once you moved into the dorms, you were happy to find out his dorm was on the opposite side of the campus. Plus both your majors were two separate things, so seeing him was slim.
But your happiness soon faded after you walked into the video game club and saw his shit-eating grin staring back at you with his Nintendo Switch in his hands as a pokémon battle song played through its speakers.
Honestly, you should have known he would also join the gaming club. You both grew up as gamers after all. If there wasn’t a board game or a handheld console in your hands, it was the PlayStation or the gaming laptop or PC.
You didn’t realize how much time had passed when a knock came to your door.
“Y/N,” it was Jungwon, “Heeseung just texted me, we are meeting downstairs in ten,” you rolled your eyes, forgetting how close Heeseung and Jungwon were, “Just wanted to let you know because I am heading down first.”
You quickly jumped from the bed, pulling your hat back on your head and your phone into your pocket, double-checking that you had the room key, and busted out the door.
You looked down both sides of the hallway, seeing Jungwon’s grin as the elevator door closed.
“Shit!” you scoffed, eyes then catching the door to the stairs.
You quickly ran down them, thanking whatever God gave you your athletic ability as you finally reached the lobby floor, hands pushing the metal on the door open, rushing through, and seeing Jungwon step out of the elevator at the same time.
He made eye contact with you for a split second before the both of you made a full sprint to the middle of the lobby where Heeseung was standing.
“Woah woah woah!!!” Heeseung yelled, holding both hands up to save himself in case you both knocked him down.
Heeseung held his hand to his heart once the two of you made a complete stop.
“Can you two let go of this never-ending fight?” Heeseung took a deep breath, standing back up straighter. Eyes looking between the two of you.
You squinted your eyes at Jungwon as he gave back the same look.
“Or not,” Heeseung sighed, dropping himself into the nearest seat, “At least sit-down or something.”
One by one the rest of the students piled into the lobby, Yunjin linking her arm with yours.
“Okay, everyone!” Heeseung yelled, standing back on the same chair as earlier, “We will put you guys into teams now!”
“Can I be on your team, Heeseung Hyung?!” one of the male students yelled from the back, causing the crowd to laugh.
Heeseung smirked and ran a hand through his hair, “It’s because I’m the best gamer right?” A couple of female students cooed out an “ahhh” as his reaction. You had to admit, Heeseung was a very good-looking man and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t have a tiny crush on him. He was indeed the best gamer in the club, hinting at the reason he’s the manager in the first place.
“I am just kidding, you guys are all the best which is why you’ve made it this far in this competition.” Heeseung gave another smirk as he looked around at the students.
You couldn’t help but smile up at him. But your smile didn’t go unnoticed by Jungwon.
His eyes stared at you from across the crowd of his club members, watching as you made heart eyes at his best friend while he was standing right beside him.
“Hyung,” Jungwon said, catching Heeseung’s attention.
“Right!” Heeseung continued, “Unfortunately, everyone has already been put into teams, and we have enough people to be put into ten teams of two. Once your team is called, please meet up with each other and discuss your plan for this week's competition.”
“Hopefully we are a team! We always fuck shit up as a team!” Yunjin whispered. You nodded, praying to be paired with her. The two of you always kill it at video games together. You’re so happy that she was not only your roommate, but also a fellow club member after you met.
A clipboard was handed to him and started to read off the names of each team.
Yunjin unfortunately wasn’t paired with you and was put on a team with the male student who asked to be with Heeseung.
Finally, your name was called…
“Y/N and Jungwon.”
Your jaw clenched as your eyes found Jungwon’s. You expected him to have his normal shit-eating grin, only to see he was staring back at you, a completely blank face. No expression whatsoever.
The rest of the teams were called and placed into their teams.
“Okay!” Heeseung clapped his hand against the clipboard, “Get into your team and raise your hand if you have any questions!”
Your hand flew into the air, standing on your tippy toes to make sure you were seen.
“Yes, Y/N?” Heeseung nervously asked, already knowing what the issue was.
“Can I switch teams?”
“Ahhh…” Heeseung glanced down at Jungwon who was mid-rolling his eyes at you. Jungwon felt his eyes on him, slowly glancing at his hyung, “Unfortunately the teams were randomly picked, and cannot be changed. It’s the competition rules, I’m sorry.”
You dropped your hand to your side, feeling defeated but also understanding.
This competition wasn’t meant to be fair. The whole point was being paired up with different people and going against other students from other colleges was it to be a challenge.
Heeseung slowly climbed down from the chair, making his way towards his partner.
Jungwon slowly walked up to you, his shit-eating grin finally making an appearance, “Hi teammate.”
“Fuck off, Won.” You sighed, crossing your arms as you started to walk away from him.
“That’s not very nice,” Jungwon smirked as he kept up with your pace, “We are teammates, gotta play nice.”
You stopped in front of the elevator, finger pressing the up button, “Jungwon, I’ve spent my whole life with you, can I please have some space?”
Jungwon glanced up as if he were thinking about it, “No.”
The doors opened and you stepped in, Jungwon right on your heels.
“Besides,” he said, pulling his phone from his pocket and checking the time, “We find out what the first game is tomorrow, want to practice?”
“No thanks, Yunjin and I are going to play Overwatch tonight,” you said without hesitation, leaving Jungwon wide-eyed as you stepped out of the elevator onto your floor, “Besides,” you mocked him, “We will start practicing tomorrow.”
—
You sat in the corner of the gaming cafe that was rented out for your club for the whole week.
You twisted around in the chair, eyes landing on Jungwon as he dropped into the chair beside you, his arms filled with snacks.
“You still like orange soda and candy right?” He set the soda and oranges flavored bag of candy in front of you.
The ache you felt in your heart while looking at the soda and candy made you a little bit sad.
Did he remember? After all these years he still never forgot your favorite snacks from when you were children?
You looked up at him as he opened his can of orange soda, “What? I know you’re staring at me.”
“You remembered?”
Jungwon looks at you, giving a small nod, “I never forgot.”
You glanced back down at your snacks, hands finally reaching to open the candy bag.
A smirk danced on Jungwon’s face as he took a sip of his soda and let out a small chuckle.
The soft feeling you just felt went away instantly, reminding you that Jungwon was no longer your friend but indeed your enemy.
“You annoy me so much, Yang Jungwon.”
His chuckle only continued, “What? You act like we never used to take bubble baths together as infants or something.”
“Shut up,” you snapped, pulling your baseball hat down to cover your eyes, “Just eat your snacks.”
Finally, once everyone was seated with their teammate, the official announcer of the competition came by and announced the first game round was League of Legends.
“The way this competition will work is we will have multiple rounds of each game, whichever team hits the first ten slots with their wins using the bracket method, will move on to the next round. Each practice day for the games will be two days.” The announcer explained the rules, and once everyone understood, he left to go to another school's cafe.
Jungwon cracked his fingers and his neck, stretching out his arms and pulling himself closer to the table, “LOL is way too easy, we’ll make it to the next round for sure.”
You nodded, also doing small stretches before moving yourself closer.
Jungwon and you have always been smart with strategy, attack, and defense games. Mostly since the two of you have had to use these three things with your self-competition.
The first practice day went in a flash. You rubbed your eyes and you dragged your feet to your room, unlocking the door and trailing in.
You wanted nothing but to shower, order food, and then go to bed. But being a gamer, and having friends who are gamers, wouldn’t let that happen so easily.
With a quick shower and food on the way, you sat at the desk with your gaming laptop open, joining your friends' discord call.
“Y/NINNEEE!!” Huening Kai sang through the mic as he saw your username pop into the call.
“Hello hello~” You sang back, “Hope you aren’t missing me too much in Bio.”
Kai scoffed, “As if, the class is a lot quieter now.”
“So was this call before Y/N joined,” Beomgyu teased, but then a soft sigh left his lips when Yunjin’s username joined the call.
“Wow, can’t believe you’re on a call without me!?!” she gasped.
“Oh gross, who invited you in here?!” Beomgyu groaned, his side eye being felt through the mic.
“It’s an open voice chat, asshole, plus I am ALWAYS invited in here!” she spat back.
You giggle at your best friend's banter, making you miss being back on campus.
You decided to open up League of Legends, better to get more practice in before the first round.
“Ugh! League?!” Beomgyu said disgustedly, “Why!?”
You roll your eyes, “Because it’s the first game we are playing for the competition Gyu.”
“Y/N, lemme in so I can practice too.” Yunjin hummed, “And anyways, you act like you were even invited to play?”
Beomgyu chuckled, “Don’t we always play games together? Isn’t that the point of being in a call?”
“Hyung, we are literally playing phasmophobia right now. Kai sassed, “We need ONE MORE piece of evidence to find the ghost.”
“But I am scaredddddd” Gyu pouted.
You once again found yourself laughing at your friends, only for your smile to fade when you see Jungwon’s username pop up on the left side of your discord showing you had a message from him.
You opened it seeing it was just him asking for an invite to the league match, which you ignored. You already practiced enough with him today and will all day tomorrow as well. He can deal with it.
Jungwon slouched down in his chair, staring at the discord message he sent you, debating if he should send you a call instead, but stopped at the sound of your laughing and hearing Huening Kai’s name come from your mouth.
Jungwon sighed, you were clearly with your friends.
—
The second day of practice also flew by quickly, the first competition day being finally here.
The competition was being held at a small center, just big enough for the gaming clubs and the officials.
Your team was placed in the third round of brackets, so there was plenty of time to get your nerves under control.
You sat in the bleachers, watching the current game on the massive screen in the middle of the room that was filled with each player's screen.
“There you are,” Jungwon said, flicking his index finger to your hat and sitting beside you, “You ready?”
You shrugged, “We practiced enough, I was confident until watching the way some of the teams from other schools play.”
Jungwon nodded, “Yeah they are good, but we are better.”
You looked at him, his eyes slowly finding their way to yours as well, “You’re competitive through and through aren’t you?”
He smiled so wide his cute dimples you loved so much as kids made their appearance, his ego also coming through, “Well yeah, of course! I am literally the best gamer in our club.”
You rolled your eyes, dropping your chin into your hands, “I can’t stand you.”
“I hear that often.” He teased, reaching up and taking your hat off your head.
“Hey! Give it back!”
“Since when did you start wearing hats?” Jungwon asked, placing the hat on his head, “How do I look?”
“It brings me luck! Now give it!”
You snatched it from him, placing it back on your head.
“Damn,” he hissed, “Didn’t bring you enough luck since you got stuck with me as your teammate.”
Jungwon stretched his legs out and leaned back on his hands, releasing a sigh and shaking his head.
All you could do was stare at him, you struck a nerve with him.
The final round ended, calling for the next bracket of players to make their way to the gaming area.
“Come on,” Jungwon stood up, sliding his hands in his pockets, “Let’s kick some ass so we can go back to the hotel.”
You studied him and his body language, this wasn’t like the normal Jungwon you knew.
He sat quietly in his chair as he placed his headphones over his ears and set his mic up properly to his liking.
You tried to focus on the monitor before you, but the tension was high between you and your teammate. You already knew being on the same team as him was going to be hard, you just didn’t expect this.
The announcer started the game, and your focus narrowed in.
Jungwon’s whole demeanor changed right back into the competitive boy you knew the moment the game started.
Before you knew it, you and Jungwon were being crowned as the victors of the first day, moving on to the next round.
—
The gaming cafe went larger as the teams from your school who didn’t make it past the first round were sent home.
The second round was Overwatch, which sent you and Yunjin looking at each other from across the cafe from the excitement.
Since Overwatch is a six-player team, two other teams will be put together for this round.
The first and second day of practice came and went. Your confidence boosts knowing this next round will be a piece of cake.
You jumped onto your gaming PC, loading up overwatch and fixing to send Yunjin an invite when your phone vibrates, receiving a call from Jungwon. You ignored the call, hovering over Yunjin’s discord username when a string of texts spams your phone.
Jungwon made his way inside your hotel room, pushing his chair with his laptop and snacks in it.
“We can’t be up too late you know,” you raised a brow at him, “We have to be at the center early.”
Jungwon shrugged, setting up his laptop beside yours, “We can play for about an hour or so.”
Jungwon watched as you sat down beside him, pulling your headset over your ears.
His heart raced to see you in your cute pink sweatpants and black hoodie, your hair pulled back into a messy bun.
His palms got clammy from the sudden nervousness that washed over him. He’s known you since birth and sees you as a good rival, why is he so nervous over you right now?
Maybe it’s because all Jungwon wants to do is confess everything he’s been hiding all these years.
That he hopes being on this team with you can rekindle what was broken and win you back, but so far it hasn’t worked.
He opens his mouth to say something, just to close it just as quickly, and sets his eyes on his laptop screen.
As the overwatch game went on, the more friendly the both of you became with each other. With small jokes and Jungwon reaching over to press random keys on your laptop just for you to swing his hand out the way as you laugh.
God, it made his heart race even more. To finally feel like things were back in place.
You had to admit you enjoyed this moment. It felt like you actually had your childhood best friend back.
But how long would this moment actually last? Until you got back on campus for the rivalry just to start again?
You cleared your throat, snapping Jungwon’s attention to you, “It’s late, I think you should leave.”
Jungwon’s smile faded, nodding softly as he gathered his things, leaving you alone in the room.
—
Your overwatch team left the gaming area cheering. You’ve made it to the final round.
Yunjin’s and even Heeseung’s teams were knocked out early on in the day. Which made you sad to see your best friend go.
Heeseung was stuck there since You and Jungwon were the only team left from your club still in the game, which surprised you that Heeseung was knocked out. He was the best gamer you knew.
The final contestants that remained, pulled you against your will to a bar to party.
Both you and Jungwon weren’t social butterflies, but Jungwon was able to blend in with the other students perfectly fine.
You, on the other hand, were slowly inching your way closer to the front entrance, making your sweet escape.
Tucking your hands into your jacket pockets, you slowly made your walk back to the hotel, thinking you finally got some peace until you heard the scuffling of shoes running after you.
“Y/N!!”
You rolled your eyes, you just can’t get away from him, can you?
“What, Jungwon?” you sigh, walking a bit faster.
“Where are you going? I noticed you were gone.”
“Back to the hotel, obviously. Please go away.”
Jungwon could sense something was…off.
“Hey,” his voice filled with concern as he wrapped his hand around your forearm, “Y/N what’s wrong?”
You shook your arm from his grip, staring daggers at him.
Jungwon dropped his arms at his side, raising his eyebrows at you, “What? Why are you angry with me now?”
You groaned, “Because! You won’t leave me alone!”
Jungwon scoffed, “Maybe I want to spend time with you? With my teammate? Is that so bad? We literally kicked ass today, yet you’re upset with me?”
“Yes! You’ve been acting more friendly than normal with me lately! Not your usual teasing me and showing off like you’d always do!”
Jungwon narrowed his brows at you, very much confused, “You hate me when we are rivals, and now you hate me for trying to be friends with you? Pick a fucking struggle Y/N.” he shoved his hands into his jean jacket pockets, twisting the hand warmers with his fingers as a distraction.
You laughed, “Why are you even trying to be friends with me anyway?! Everything is just going to go back to normal once we step foot back on campus! So why?! All you have done is suffocate me since we’ve been here!” you took a deep breath, rubbing your fingertips at your temples, “I was so looking forward to having a somewhat relaxing time here with Yunjin as my teammate and us as normal rivals but good lord my luck has actually been shitty like you stated the other day.”
Jungwon licked his bottom lip as he stared down at his sneakers, trying to keep his eyes dry, “I asked Heeseung to put us on a team together.”
You looked at him confused, your body relaxing a little, “What?”
Jungwon looks back up at you, his eyes glossed over, “I asked Heeseung to pair us up. The plan was originally to have everyone draw names from a bowl but I…” he looks away from you, staring off down the street, “I asked him to just pair people up and make it seem like it was random and to just give me you.”
Snow started to fall from the sky, slowly collecting in his soft dark hair.
“Why…?” you softly whispered.
Jungwon chuckled, reaching a hand to scratch his face as if it would help him find the right words, “Because I wanted to rekindle our friendship. I wanted to leave this competitiveness behind us. To fix what got broken, Y/N, it’s my fault why things got the way they are now.”
You didn’t know what to say, so you stood there, continuing to listen to him.
“I thought it was just us having fun, just two kids being stupid until it got to my head. I enjoyed winning. I enjoyed the praise from everyone. And because of that, our little games turned into hatred. To us being enemies. It’s my fault that I let go of our friendship. I kept this rivalry going for all these years because it was the only way I could keep you in my life.”
You looked down at the ground, your hat covering him out of your sight completely.
Jungwon took a deep breath, “I miss you. So fucking much. I wanted this trip to bring you back to me. That’s why I tried so hard. I wasn’t trying to suffocate you, that’s the last thing I want.”
His footsteps got closer to you, and by habit, you clasped your fingers on your hat bill, pulling it down as you looked even further away.
“Y/N, look at me please.”
You were scared too, scared to look at him and he sees how much you’ve also missed him. That you were blinded by the rivalry into thinking you hated him. You wanted your best friend back, but did you deserve him?
Suddenly you felt the pull of your hat being taken. Jungwon’s fingers lift the bill up exposing your face.
You made eye contact with him not even for a second before his free hand cupped your jaw and pressed his lips to yours.
Jungwon pulled your body closer to him, deepening the kiss as his tongue pressed against your lips to allow it in, sliding it against your own tongue.
Your hand gripped the openings of his jacket, holding on for dear life as your head spun.
The last thing you expected tonight was to make out with your best friend as the snow fell.
But it was romantic nonetheless.
The sounds of a car honking on the street pulled you two back to reality.
You jumped away from Jungwon, wrapping your jacket around your body.
Jungwon smiled, placing your hat back on your head, pulling the bill down way too far in a way to tease you.
“I am also in love with you, Y/N.” Jungwon didn’t expect him confessing his feelings to you would be exactly like this, but what better way than right now as he’s teasing you like old times?
Once Jungwon’s hand was gone from your head you looked up at him, trying to make sure you heard what he said correctly.
Jungwon rubbed his thumb against your cheek, “I have been in love with you for as long as I can remember,” he tucked his bottom lip between his teeth and then released it along with a sigh, “I’ve loved you even as kids. For some reason, I always knew I loved you, and as the years went on, I only came to understand my feelings for you more and more.”
Jungwon slid his hand from your face down to your hand, taking it in his own, “That's another reason I asked Heeseung to pair me with you. I wanted to apologize for letting you go, for choosing the competitive life over the one we could have had together if I never let you go. If I told you from the start how I felt.”
Before you could say anything, the partying students finally left the bar, their loud voices echoing over to you and Jungwon, causing him to drop his hand to his side, taking a few steps away.
“Let’s go, we have a long couple of days ahead of us.”
The walk back to the hotel was quiet.
—
The last and final round of the competition was a battle royale.
Jungwon bounced in his chair, excited as battle royale was his favorite.
You, on the other hand, weren’t the best at them.
No amount of practice the last couple of days was enough to prepare you.
You even snuck over to Jungwon’s room and begged him to help you, letting you in with a roll of his eyes saying you would do perfectly fine.
You were good at battle royale, yes, but after finding out the team you were up against was KNOWN as battle royale players.
You even so much as went and stalked their Steam and Twitch accounts. All they play is battle royales.
The day of the finale came faster than you’d like.
You twisted your fingers together as you stared off in the distance of the gaming area, your headphones dangling around your neck.
Jungwon looked over at you, placing his hand on top of yours.
You looked over at him, his dimple smiling being enough to relax you.
“It’s okay, we will kick ass,” There he goes with his confidence, “I am the best at battle royales, and you are also good at them, we got this. Just stick to me.”’
You nodded, giving a soft pout when he looked away and released his hand from yours.
The announcer started the game, and the finale began.
You stuck to Jungwon like glue, looting the area and switching guns out for better ones as the timer ran down.
One by one you and Jungwon took out each team you came into contact with, but that was solely because of the fact Jungwon always comes in clutch in hard situations.
Until it came down to the last two teams. Yours and the team you were worried about.
Jungwon gave orders as you followed him to the next and final circle, sliding and hiding behind a building.
Jungwon pulled his sniper out, aiming down sights to see where the enemy team could be. You crept into the building, doing one last final round of looting and reloading, ready to walk out, when Jungwon screamed beside you.
“Wonnie?! What?!”
“Don’t leave that building!”
You did as you were told, peaking your head out a window, seeing Jungwon down one of the players, just for the second one to pop out of nowhere and down him.
“Fuck!” Jungwon scoffed, dropping his headset down around his neck and rolling his chair to your side, staring at your screen.
“Y/N, you need to down him before he picks up his teammate.”
Your fingers shake against the keyboard, as you quickly run out from the building.
“You got this,” Jungwon reassured you.
You run up behind the other player, “What if I don’t?”
“Baby, listen to me,” him calling you baby was enough to make your heart race even more, “You got this, okay?”
You nodded, switching your guns quickly just in time for the other player to turn around and start shooting, but you were quicker. Sliding out of the way, and getting up behind him with a shotgun in hand, pulling the trigger and downing him. The title of winner flashed across your screen.
“I did it!” you shouted, turning to look at Jungwon, “We did it!”
Jungwon high-fives your hands, his fingers intertwined with yours, shaking your hands back and forth, “We did it!”
With no hesitation, you leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to his lips.
Jungwon was too stunned to say anything, eyes blinking rapidly.
You pulled your headset down around your neck, letting yourself hear the outside world.
“I am in love with you too,” You smiled, heart nearly beating out of your chest, “I always have been and just covered it up with the hatred I had. I’ve missed you too, and you weren’t actually suffocating me, I said that out of anger and confusion, I—“
That’s all Jungwon needed to hear, shutting you up by pressing his lips back to yours, cupping your hands softly between his hands.
All he cared about was winning you back, and he did. Winning the gaming competition was just a bonus.
He made you fall for him all over again, only he fell harder than he did before.

you and sunoo decide to pop the champagne under the sunshine…

☾ sunghoon(1) | niki(2) | heeseung(3) | jungwon(4) | jake(5) | jay(6) | sunoo(7) ☽
Sunoo’s giggles filled your ears, the pink blush on his face made the smile and scrunch of his nose all the more cute.
He gently kissed your cheek, “Babe! Do it again!”
You took the empty glass away from your mate, begging Jay with your eyes to please take the glass and put it elsewhere, “Please grab him some water, we need him sober for the wedding.”
Jay took the glass with a nod, “Kinda your fault for showing him that trick.”
You softly nodded in agreement, placing your hand on your mate's forehead, “I didn’t think he would find it that funny.”
Today is Heeseung’s and __ wedding. Heeseung and his grooms(the main OGs of the pack) were sitting around getting ready in the private room away from the venue.
All the females in the pack(which are obviously the bridesmaids), besides the bride, came to see their mates before the wedding started.
To your and the other girls' surprise, the males were pregaming. Which honestly kinda also didn’t surprise you at all.
Heeseung has been shaking nonstop since last week. Jay has been wanting to drink since the royals even announced their wedding. Sunghoon and Jake have been gaming pregaming jokes since yesterday while Sunoo and Jungwon laughed and teased along with it. Meanwhile, poor Niki sat in the corner drinking his blood bag like a juice box.
Again, it didn’t surprise you or the girls when you all walked in and saw the males drinking.
Sunoo was already buzzed when you walked up to him, using your magic to refill his empty glass as a form of a party trick, mostly since all the other boys were watching as well.
Sunoo’s face lit up as he drank the refilled alcohol in one gulp, asking you to do it again as he giggled.
Thinking there was no harm in it, you did it again, only for your mate to gulp it down again, slurring his words asking for it to happen again and you realize your mistake.
With your palm on his forehead, you used your magic to release the tension in his head and remove the drunk feeling.
“Well now my head hurts,” Sunoo pouted, resting his head on your shoulder as he wrapped his arms around your waist.
“I know my sunshine,” you ran your hands in his hair, “This is why we wait to drink until after the wedding.”
Jay chuckled, pulling his mate to his side, placing a kiss on her forehead, “Tell that to Heeseung who still has a half-full glass in his hands.”
You glanced over at Heeseung, his face was flushed as he leaned against Sunghoon, mumbling about how nervous he was.
“Sunoo, my sunshine, can you stand up without me? I need to help Heeseung.”
Your mate nodded, releasing you just to take a few steps and fall onto Jay’s shoulder.
You and the witch tried pulling Heeseung off Sunghoon, “Damn, didn’t think pregaming was going to lead to this,” Sunghoon teased.
His mate rolled her eyes, “Babe, you knew how nervous he was for today!”
Once Heeseung was off Sunghoon and standing up straight, your palm touched his forehead, doing the same thing you did for Sunoo.
Once the drunk feeling was gone, Heeseung furrowed his brows and closed his eyes tightly, his own hands grasping his head, “Fuck…”
You patted the king's back softly as the witch helped him keep his balance.
“I can make some herbal tea for you guys, how does that sound?” the witch asked softly, rubbing Heeseung’s back.
Heeseung nodded, “Please do, I don’t need my groomens falling over.”
Sunghoon chuckled, “You mean just Sunoo and yourself, the rest of us are fine.”
The witch glared at her mate, “Hoon, please.”
Sunghoon thinned his lips into a line, trying to keep from laughing.
Jungwon, being the leader he is, took the witches' place at Heeseung’s side, “Go ahead and make their tea, I’ll take over.”
She nodded, “I’ll have to grab my bag from the other room,” then quickly rushed off.
“Y/N,” Jungwon grabbed your attention, “Go ahead and go back to Sunoo, I got Hee.”
You nodded, rushing back to your mate's side.
“How are you doing my sunshine?”
Sunoo pouted even more, as he pushed off his Hyung and ran back to you, “Why did you show me you could refill alcohol?”
You wrapped your arms around him, softly giggling, “I didn’t think you would find it that entertaining, my sun.”
Sunoo rolled his eyes, “I always find your magic entertaining,” he sassed, giving you his famous side-eye.
You placed your hands on his cheeks, pinning them slightly, “No need to sass me, not my fault you decided to pregame a little too hard.”
Sunoo knew you were right, but it was a happy day today.
Sunoo feels maybe he was more excited about this wedding than the actual one getting married.
The witch returns handing the small porcelain cup to Sunoo, “This will help the headache and make it feel like you never drank at all.”
Sunoo thanked her, taking the cup to his sips.
Heeseung also gulped down the tea, the red on his face slowly fading away.
“Okay!” Jungwon scouted, clapping his hands together, “The wedding starts in twenty minutes! Everyone, start actually to prepare yourselves.”
You fixed Sunoo’s tie on his tux and parted his hair back off to the side where it once was.
Sunoo took the last sip of his tea, smiling brightly at you, “You look beautiful.”
You smoothed out a wrinkle on your silk red dress, “The future queen picked out a pretty red huh?”
Sunoo pulled your body back to him, “No you just look pretty in red, I could bite your neck and suck your blood from how pretty you look,” he opened his mouth slightly, his beautiful fangs making their appearance.
You smirked at him, smoothing out his tux jacket, “Put those fangs away and finish getting ready for the wedding, ya?”
Sunoo rolled his eyes, retracting his fangs, “All for you my love.”
You pulled him into a soft kiss before rushing back out the door with the other girls.
One of the beautiful things about having an early summer wedding at the beach is the breathtaking view and cool breeze.
Heeseung and __ really chose a beautiful time of year for their wedding.
Sunoo couldn’t stop smiling during the whole wedding ceremony. His heart nearly beat out of his chest as he stood with his brothers watching the oldest one take his vows not just as a married man, but as the king of the vampires.
Sunoo also couldn’t stop looking at you and how that red dress complimented your skin. How your earrings dangled and moved with each movement of your head as you pulled your hair behind your pointed ear.
He couldn’t help but picture what it would be like with himself kneeling before you asking for your hand in marriage.
And by the looks of his brother's faces, they all were thinking the same with their mates.
Sunoo nudged Niki’s shoulder, “You’re too young to think about marriage,” he teased the maknae in a whisper.
Niki rolled his eyes, “I am not even thinking that, besides, being stuck in a seventeen-year-old's body for my whole lifetime, remember?” he whispered back.
Jungwon hushed the both of you, “We are literally in a wedding, shut up.”
Niki leaned closer to his hyung, “You thinking about marrying __ huh?” he teased.
Jungwon tightened his jaw as Sunoo leaned closer to him as well, “Turn back around. Right. Now.”
Sunoo and Niki giggled, putting their attention back to the royals.
—
The sound of bottles popping and the smell of champagne filled the cool summer air.
Heeseung and __ shoved cake in each other's faces as everyone cheered and took sips of their alcohol.
The courtiers at the sides of the king and queen, whispered into Heeseung’s ear as his smile grew wide.
Sunoo felt his heart race faster, the courtiers being here meant the royal government had fully accepted Heeseung as king.
Heeseung wiped the cake from his face, cheering loudly with his hands raised, “I WILL MAKE THE CHANGE!!!”
The pack and the other guests all cheered, bowing down to the new king and his queen.
Glasses of blood were being handed out to the crowd, and the witch tied her arm with yours, leaning on your shoulder, “No sorry,” she smiled politely, “We aren’t bloodsuckers like this guy!” she said pointing her thumb at Sunghoon at her side.
Sunghoon ripped her away from you, his fingers taking her chin, her soft giggles escaping her lips, “Better watch it when it comes to teasing me hex girl, I’ll sink my teeth into you.”
The host handed Sunghoon his glass of blood as he wrapped his arms around his witch.
Seeing them made you miss your vampire. Your eyes searched the crowd.
“Look for me, my elf?” Sunoo said from behind you, and your heart nearly stopped.
His arms wrap around you from behind, “Yes I was my sunshine,” you leaned into him, “Where were you?”
Sunoo chuckled, “I was with Heeseung and __, but then I had a perfect idea.”
“Which was?”
Sunoo called the host back over to grab himself the glass of blood, taking two good gulps, returning the glass, “Follow me!”
Sunoo took your head as he led you away from the wedding party and down the beach, the loud music softly fading in the background.
“Sunoo, they will worry about where we went,” You glanced back behind you at the party, “What if someone needs me?”
“My love, you are an excellent doctor, but Heeseung and Jay are also doctors, and there’s our witch too, they can handle everything.”
You sighed with a nod, you knew he was right.
Sunoo suddenly stopped, “Ta-Da!”
You look down at the sand, seeing a pretty orange beach blanket with a bottle of champagne and two glasses.
You giggled at him, “You want to drink again?”
Sunoo did his famous smile that you loved so much. You swore his smile was brighter than the sun.
You both sat down, opening the bottle of champagne. Sunoo filled both glasses, saying, “I just want to drink with you.”
You both drank to your heart's content, Sunoo getting buzzed and asking for you to refill the bottle with your magic.
With a roll of your eyes, you moved your hand over the bottle, watching as the liquid replenished.
You had to admit, drinking with your mate was fun. Sunoo never once stopped smiling and always kept on giggling.
Elves drink all the time, so your tolerance to alcohol is a lot higher. But right when you started to get buzzed, Sunoo took the glass from your hands.
“Baby,” you pouted, reaching back for the glass, “Give it back.”
“Marry me.”
You stopped moving, looking up at him with eyes widened, did you hear that correctly?
“Huh?” you asked, making sure he said what you think.
“I said marry me,” he sassed, rolling his eyes, “I overheard Jay saying earlier he wanted to marry __, and then Jake and Sunghoon also stated how everyone getting married sounded like a good idea,” he pouted, “Do you not want to marry me?”
You smiled, cupping his face, “Why don’t we talk about this when we are sober?”
Sunoo smiled, leaning to rest his forehead against yours, “Okay. But think about it, a cool vampire-elf wedding? The party would be awesome and if we have kids-“
You kissed him suddenly, your heart not being able to see the cute image of Sunoo in a wedding tux and as a future father.
Sunoo kissed you back, not being able to hold back his smile.
He pulled you closer to him, watching as the setting sun reflected onto the ocean's water.
“Want to use your magic to refill the bottle again?”
You giggled at your mate, holding your hand out for the bottle.

☾ sunghoon(1) | niki(2) | heeseung(3) | jungwon(4) | jake(5) | jay(6) | sunoo(7) ☽
Jay rests his hand on your thigh as his eyes stay glued to the road, his thumb doing circles on your soft skin.
You glanced out the window, watching all the buildings and people walking on the street pass by.
Jay was spoiling you today with a lunch date and some shopping.
The shopping was more or less for the vampire royals wedding that was coming up. You’ve obviously never been to a vampire wedding, so you were confused as to how dressing for one would go. Mostly since now, you were the only human in the pack.
Sure, Sunghoon and Jake’s mates were human to an extent, but they still had immortality on their side.
You sigh, resting your head in your hand, elbow digging into the side of the car door.
Jay furrowed his eyes, making a few quick glances at you, his hand tapping your thigh.
“Babe, everything okay?”
You looked at him, quickly shaking your head, “Nothing.”
Jay knew you were lying, and you knew that he knew you were lying.
But you knew you couldn’t tell him the truth. That you so badly want to join the immortal side.
Jay doesn’t take talking about turning you very well. Always claims it’ll happen, but when? Didn’t know.
You keep praying that it will be before the wedding, but at this rate, you don’t know.
Jay took your hand, lifting it to press his lips to the back of your hand, “Babe, talk to me.”
“It’s just…Jungwon-“
Jay stopped you there, knowing where the conversation was going to go, “Babe,” he said, shaking his head, “Let’s not talk about this right now.”
Jay didn’t understand the rush to turn you into a monster. Wasn’t your human life good enough?
You released your hand from him, crossing your arms and looking back outside the window.
He knew you’d be pissed with him, it always would end up like this after talking about it.
He pulled into the restaurant's parking lot, found a good spot, and backed into the spot, putting the car in park.
He unbuckled his seatbelt, ready to get out and open the door for you before your voice stopped him.
“Don’t you want me forever?” you softly whispered.
Jay sighed, quickly reaching across the car taking your chin between his fingers, and pulling you to look at him.
“That was such a stupid question,” he scoffed, showing how annoyed he was with you at the current moment, “Of course, I want you forever. I am literally bonded to you for life.”
You wanted to make a smart comment, wanting to test him completely. Jay could read it on your face how badly you wanted to speak up.
“Yeah, until I die…” and you said it.
Jay let go of you and leaned back into his seat, jaw clenching tightly.
“Y/N,” he started to say until you cut him off.
“No!” you snapped, “It’s the truth! We may be bonded, but I WILL grow older. My body will start to age and get fragile. Hell, I am already fragile when it comes to you.”
Jay closed his eyes, clenching his jaw even more.
“Jay, you hold me so gently, kiss me so gently, and even hold my hand gently as if I were made of paper. Fuck, even when we have sex-“
“I get it, Y/N,” Jay finally spoke up, taking a deep breath to keep his voice calm, “I get it…”
He leaned back towards you, taking your hands in his own, “Babe, trust me when I say I want to be with you forever,” he took another deep breath, “Let’s talk about this back at the apartment, please? Let’s go have a good lunch and shop for the wedding, I want to spoil you, baby, please.”
You softened your hard exterior, nodding at him. You and Jay were both extremely stubborn, but sometimes you couldn’t help but fold when it came to him.
Jay quickly pressed a kiss to your lips before leaving the car and opening your door for you, helping you out.
Lunch was quiet as you ate your food and Jay sipped on his whine, stealing small bites from your steak and making cute faces every time his nose would scrunch up.
That was one thing you loved about him, he still would share food and eat (even if it was a tiny bit) with you. He didn’t need food to survive but still will eat to help make you feel more comfortable as a human.
That’s all Jay wanted, was to give you a normal human life. Something that was taken from him.
Jay still hated the monster he’d become, hated the vampire king for taking his life from him. The only thing he didn’t hate about the monster he had become was he met you. You made being immortal all worth it in the end.
And of course, Jay wanted to turn you, he wanted to keep you until the world ended, but he also didn’t want to take your normal human life from you. He would hate himself for it.
Once lunch was over, Jay drove you two to the nearest mall. Take your hand in his as you walk together.
You stopped in multiple different stores, looking and trying on different outfits.
Jay then pulled you into a Prada store, “Now we can really find some outfits.”
You couldn’t help but smile at him, your man loved his Prada.
Jay found a couple of matching outfits, deciding to settle for the black suit and black dress.
As you two stood in the checkout line, Jay pulled you close to him, his arm wrapping around your back and hand gently settling on your hip.
His gentle touch sent you back to your previous thoughts on how gentle he is with you.
You tried to not show it on your face, to keep such a good poker face that he wouldn’t be able to see through. To try and save the conversation once you’re back at home.
And soon enough, the two of you were walking back into your shared apartment. Jay carried all the bags to the room and returned to your side quickly, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek.
“How about I make you some coffee, ya? Sit down and I’ll be back.”
You loved how he would take care of you like this, but right now you didn’t want to be taken care of. You wanted the conversation.
Jay sat you down on the couch, but the hold you had on his arm wouldn’t release.
You knew Jay could quickly run off and your grip wouldn’t hold. That he could just shove you off and go on about his business. But he doesn’t. He looks at your hand and how it holds onto his forearm, tracing his eyes up to yours.
Jay knew the moment you locked eyes on what you wanted. He sighs, bending down to meet you at eye level, his hands finding yours.
“Babe…”
“Jongseong please…” you begged, “Jungwon turned __, and they’ve been happier since. I am the only one who is still a human. And I don’t want you always acting as if I am some fragile thing anymore. You’ll lose me someday if you don’t…”
Jay raised his hand and cupped your face, wiping away the tears forming in your eyes. His chocolate eyes wandered your face, stopping at the two scars Dorian left on your skin all that time ago.
“My human life was taken from me, I can’t just take your human life from you.”
You shook your head, “You aren’t just taking it from me! I am letting you do this. Begging you to do this.”
Jay looked down at the floor, shifting his knees on the carpet trying to find the right words to speak.
“I am a monster, Y/N, how can you want to be like-“
“You’re not a monster!” you grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him closer to you. His eyes met back at yours, “I forgive you, Jay. If that’s what you’ve been searching for is forgiveness from the way you once were, you have it. You have that forgiveness. You’ve done so much good since you, Heeseung, and Jake left that place. You’re a doctor for crying out loud. You take care of me when I’ve been sick. Even cook for me and keep food in the apartment when you don’t even need it. That’s not something a monster does. I want you forever. I want to be like you because you’re more than just a vampire. You’re the most human vampire I have ever met.”
Jay sighed, trying hard to keep his composure, thinning his lips into a line, “I love you, Y/N. So goddamn much and I want you forever too,” his fingers traced the scars that Dorian left on your neck, “I almost lost you once that night, I can’t do it again.”
You pulled Jay to you, wrapping your arms around his neck as his own wrapped around your waist, “You don’t always have to protect me, I am just as stubborn as you, I will make one fine vampire I promise.”
Jay wanted nothing more than to turn you. To keep you forever. He’s scared of a life without you. But the dangers that you’ll have to face in the future, to eventually have to move towns again once people start noticing you aren’t aging.
It’s what Jay and the pack have been dealing with for so long. Once Niki graduates high school (again), everyone is packing up and moving towns and cities.
Then with everything that Dorian caused…it’s only a matter of time before his followers who are still alive will come. Jay wanted to protect you, and no matter what he always would.
But it’s not just turning you that scared him, it was the possibility of losing that control once his fangs are in your skin.
“Baby, what if I lose control?” he whispered, his head resting against yours.
“Jungwon didn’t,” you commented, “And everything turned out fine. Jungwon also drank from __ that night he was attacked, right? He had more at risk when he turned her.”
Jay shook his head, “Y/N, I haven’t drunk from a human directly since leaving the castle,” he took a deep sigh, “I have a higher chance of losing that control and he did. Jungwon also is so strong-willed, he’s the leader of our pack after all.”
“I believe in you, Jay. I trust you.”
You knew he’d be okay. Knew you could trust him. Had all the faith he would keep control.
Jay started to open his mouth to protest, to maybe wait until another member was here to help keep him grounded, but you stopped him.
“Just bite me, idiot.”
And well, no time like the present.
Jay bent your head to the side with one hand, his eyes staring at the scars. His fangs came to a point, his eyes their beautiful crimson.
Your body tensed, and your hands gripped into his hair as his fangs pierced your skin.
Jay sucked the blood in, his hand that was still at your waist gripped tighter, and a soft groan left his mouth.
You tasted so good to him. How the hell will he ever drink normal blood again after getting a taste of yours? Jay had half a mind to not turn you, his mind was clouded by your taste and smell.
Your brow furrowed as the side of your neck went numb and your body turned cold, the familiar feeling that Dorian first gave you. Except this time you weren’t scared. You are in the arms of your soulmate. Someone who loves you more than life itself.
“Jay,” you whispered, your head started to spin, “Jay,”
Jay could hear your voice but did not register what you were saying. He was chasing a high that was long forgotten.
His fingers spread out more, moving your head even more to the side, giving him more room to sink his teeth down more.
You hissed at the pain, tapping his shoulder as your vision started to blur, “Jay…Jongseong.”
He couldn’t stop, you tasted too good. He was so drunk off you. His hand at your waist went to your shoulder, gripping the fabric of your shirt and tearing it down your arm, ripping it completely.
It wasn’t until his hand touched your bare shoulder that he realized how cold your body was getting from the loss of blood.
Jay wanted to remove his fangs, wrap you in a blanket and cover your wounds, and apologize for losing himself.
“Baby…” you whispered, wrapping your fingers slightly tighter around his hair, “I trust you.”
Hearing those words was enough for Jay to release his venom into your skin and take one last sip of your blood before removing his fangs.
A small amount of blood dripped down your neck and Jay softly rubbed his tongue up, wiping away the blood and placing a soft kiss on your neck where his fangs once were.
You started to go through the motions as his venom spread throughout your body. Jay wrapped his arms tightly around you, “It’s okay babe, I am right here. You are so strong.”
You were in pain, but then you weren’t. You blinked a couple of times, then removed your hands out of Jay’s silver hair and down to his shoulders.
Jay pulled back to look at you, a small smile on his lips, “Hello my love.”
You stuck your tongue out to feel your new fangs. The world seemed like it was moving faster than it did before.
“Is this how it felt for you too?” You asked, as his hands went back to your face as he stared into your new crimson eyes.
“Mine was a lot more painful, more aggressive.”
You nodded, it made sense for Jay’s to be worse, after what he had to go through…
“Babe, how are you feeling?” Jay asked, his eyes wandering back down to your neck, the scars that were once there were gone, which made Jay smile even more. Dorian was completely gone now.
You focused on retracting your fangs, and once they were gone you crashed your lips into Jay’s.
Kissing him now felt different. Felt more powerful and passionate.
Jay’s hands found their way back on your body, and oh it sent you over the edge.
He was aggressive with his touch, not gentle like he once was. His hands gripped tightly to your body and squeezed you. His lips kiss you out of pure hunger. Like he’s been deprived of it.
You loved it. The rush you were feeling. The way Jay was handling you as he pressed your body against the couch as his own connected to yours. His hand slid down your leg and wrapped it around his waist.
You were no longer fragile. Not some small piece of paper. And it felt amazing.
Jay loved the feeling of not having to worry about hurting you. He was finally able to fully give you everything he’s been wanting to give you.
You were still so fragile to him, not because you actually were, but because of how badly he was in love with you. It would be a beacon for those who in the future would want to harm you.
Jay shoved those thoughts out of his mind. It was a problem to worry about later.
Because right now all he cared about was making love to you in the ways he wasn’t able to before.

You opened the fridge, a soft sigh escaping your lips at seeing the empty shelves.
“You okay, baby?” Jake called from your shared living room. The echoes of his fingers button smashing the PS5 controller in his hands at the game displayed on the TV.
You closed the fridge, “Yeah, there’s just nothing in the fridge. We need to go grocery shopping.”
Jake paused the game, turning around on the couch to face you, “Or you can let me take you out.”
You leaned against the countertop, shaking your head, “Jake we don’t need to do that,” his smile on his face quickly frowning. You cleared your throat, “You wouldn’t be able to eat.”
Jake quickly stood up and was at your side in a second, “I can drink some bags before we go. Baby, you need to eat. We can go to the grocery shop after dinner.”
Your mate pulled you into his arms, the sound of your stomach growling loudly.
“Baby, please.” Jake rubs your back, “My sweet Luna Nova needs to eat.”
You finally gave in, nodding your head.
Jake kissed your head, “Let me go shower, then we can head out.”
“What about you eating?” You asked, worried about your mate getting his own meal in.
“I’ll drink the bags on the way to a restaurant, don’t worry.”
He kissed you softly on the lips before leaving your side.
You sat on the couch, hearing your phone text tone go off. It was a message from your twin brother.
You put your phone down into your lap. You were grateful that Archer was keeping an eye out for the stragglers from Dorian’s army, but at the same time, you wished he’d let it go.
But unfortunately for Archer, he can’t. Not after they captured you.
Your stomach growled again, putting your thoughts back on your hunger.
One thing that sucked being a dhampir is having your thirst for blood, but also craving of food.
It also made you feel bad for Jake. He was always grocery shopping for and with you. Having to deal with the smells of cooking the food and even sometimes cooking for you.
You knew he didn’t mind, but you still can’t help but feel bad.
Having to always stay stocked up on not just blood bags, but every food as well.
You couldn’t help but think and wonder how Jay does it. He knew he cooked all the time in his human life and cooked for __ all the time as well. Jungwon used to say how he didn’t mind it either, but now that __ is a vampire they tossed all their food out.
Maybe you were just overthinking it.
The sound of the shower turned off, and Jake was back at your side on the couch, his wet hair dripping onto his bare chest.
“Baby, what’s wrong?” He took your chin between his fingers, “You forget we are bonded, I can tell you’re upset.”
You shook your head, watching a small drop of water drip from his hair and land onto his sweatpants, “Jaeyun, I am fine.”
“My Luna Nova…”
“I’m just…I feel bad.”
Jake tilted his head, confused, furrowing his eyes at you, “Y/N,” oops. He only will call you by your name when he’s serious, “Talk to me.”
You went into explaining, telling him how you feel bad for always having to deal with food all because he’s paired with you for life.
“Baby,” he softly said, pressing his lips to yours, “Being bonded to you is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I’ve spent my whole life waiting for you, so you having to eat human food on top of drinking blood doesn’t bother me. You’re half-blooded, and I wouldn’t change any part of it.”
Jake pulled you into his lap, gently laying you back against the couch, kissing your neck, “Let me take you out, go grocery shopping then come back so I can worship every part of you.”
You giggle into his shoulder, pushing him back, “Okay, that requires you to get dressed first, Jaeyun.”
He pressed one more kiss to your neck before leaving to change. Coming back out in his favorite black ripped jeans and a gray sweatshirt.
Jake grabbed a couple of blood bags from the fridge and then rushed you out the door.
You watched your soulmate as he drove you two to the nearest burger joint, watching as he sipped on his blood bags before pulling into the parking lot.
Jake had the biggest smile on his face the entire time, even while he was ordering your dinner for you. His arm wrapped around your waist and you were pulled close to him.
All Jake ever wanted to do was show how thankful he is for you every single day. He worshiped the ground you walked on.
After Dorian took you from him and used every ounce of magic he had to mask your scent so he couldn’t find you, tore him to pieces. The sleepless nights he got, the days of not drinking any blood, and even the days he and Sunghoon would spend sitting with each other side by side staring off into the distance because they didn’t trust the other to be alone. Jake hated seeing Sunghoon hurting like that but knew he was feeling the same.
The moment Jake had you back in his arms, he vowed to never let you go so easily again and spend every waking moment possible showing you how thankful and appreciative he was of you.
You were his main reason for living after all, even if he is the undead.
Jake also didn’t want to put you through anything you had to deal with before, losing your first mate was bad enough, and he didn’t want to find out what it would feel like to lose you or put you through losing another mate.
You took a bite of your burger, looking up at your goofy boy, seeing him deep in thought, “Jake?” you called his name, waving a hand in his face.
Jake focused his attention back on you, giving you the beautiful smile that you loved so much, “Yes, baby?”
“You okay?” you asked, giving him a small smile, “You looked lost in thought there for a second.”
Jake took your free hand in his, “Just thinking about how much I love you, and how lucky I am to have you.”
You couldn’t help but smile wider at him, rubbing your thumb over the top of his hand.
Every dead-end street, lead you straight to him. Every moment from the time you met him and the pack, to the moment you finally let yourself have that second chance of having a mate, every wrong turn, and every terrible moment, brought you to him. He’s all you need.
Jake watched as you finished eating, taking you by the hand, leading you back to the car, and helping you inside.
“Next stop is the grocery store!”
Jake followed behind you pushing the cart as you placed everything you wanted and needed into the cart.
Jake couldn’t wrap his head around why you would even think grocery shopping and even cooking for you would be any kind of nuisance. You’re a dhampir, you need both substances of humans and vampires to survive and that’s something Jake understood. He even got lessons from Jay on cooking so he could cook for you so you don’t have to always do it.
But he also saw your side and why it would bother you, you’re a bit different than normal vampires, and dhampirs are rare.
Jake started thinking about the percentages of dhampirs, curious what would happen if you and himself…conceived.
Jake leaned against the cart, mindlessly following behind you as he was stuck in this thought.
You stopped walking, seeing a bag of chips you’d want for a snack later, feeling the cart run into you, a quick “Oh shit,” slipping from Jake’s mouth.
You softly glared at your mate, raising a brow, “You’re deep in thought again.”
Jake nervously smiled, “Yeah, I had a random thought.”
You grabbed the bag of chips and placed them in the cart, “And what is that?”
Jake made eye contact with you, tucking his lip between his teeth before releasing it and speaking, “What if we created life?”
You chuckled, thinking he was joking, before seeing he was being serious, “Like actually?”
Jake nodded, dropping his head into his hands, “My Luna Nova, think about it. Think of our little moons we get to raise.”
You had to admit, Jake would be a great parent.
You smiled at him, “We can talk more about it once we finish grocery shopping.”
Jake and you barely walked into the front door before the groceries were dropped to the floor and his hands were on you, lips to your neck.
“Jake,” you softly whispered, “We need to put the groceries up.”
“Shhh,” he said between the pecks on your skin, “Let’s create life together, my sweet Luna Nova,” Jake ran his hands under your sweater, squeezing your hips, “Let’s create our own moons.”
You couldn’t say no to him, wrapping your arms around his neck and pulling him closer. Creating your own little family didn’t sound so bad.

☾ sunghoon(1) | niki(2) | heeseung(3) | jungwon(4) | ? ☽
Jungwon laid his head in your lap scrolling through his phone while you had your nose in a book.
You enjoyed nights like this, laying on the couch with your soulmate while reading a good book as he naps or watches TV or even reads with you. It was always so perfect.
The living room was quiet so you nearly jumped ten feet in the air through the roof of your shared apartment ceiling when Jungwon released a loud gasp from his lips.
“Goddamnit Won,” you slapped your book to his abdomen, “You scared me!”
Jungwon smiled cutely at you, “I’m sorry my love, but Heeseung and __ are back from their trip.”
You sighed, “That’s good, why is that such a gasping moment?” You understood how close the boys were, so obviously Wonnie would be excited to have his oldest brother back in town, but you don’t get why it was as big of a deal, “Are you texting them?”
Jungwon nodded, tilting his phone up to you, “Read the group chat.”
You glanced over at his phone, reading the messages.
Jungwon giggles and brings his phone back to himself, his thumbs typing away.
Your phone was sitting on the coffee table and you’d have to make Jungwon move just to grab it.
“Tell them I said congrats,” you said, tapping your book to his forehead.
“I already did, my love.” he said, waving the book out of his face, “They are going to have a summer wedding!”
You closed the book, tossing it to the coffee table, “A summer wedding would be perfect for them.”
Jungwon agreed, tossing his phone onto the table next to yours.
He sat up, wrapping his arm around you pulling you to him, “Pretty sure the main cause of their engagement is the council probably told Heeseung he needed to marry __ for her to have any say in important matters.”
You looked up at him confused, “Why would that have to happen? Didn’t she automatically become queen when they bonded?”
Jungwon nodded, remembering seeing that line of fate whip around his hyung and __ tying them together after defeating Dorian.
He thought the feeling of being in a pack with the king himself was a strong feeling, but it was nothing to the feeling after he bonded with his queen.
“From what I am assuming is that one of the first kings probably made it a rule, probably to keep the queen, or even another king, from using the vampire king in some way.”
You blinked, even more confused than before, “How would the queen, or king, use the vampire king? Wouldn’t they be bonded?”
Jungwon shrugged, “Maybe the first king wasn’t bonded to his queen?”
It made more sense after thinking of it in that way, the first king probably wasn’t bonded to his queen. He probably loved her and she used that to her advantage until he caught along.
Either way, you knew Heeseung and __ would rule the vampire world perfectly together. They are soulmates after all.
“Anyway!” Jungwon said cutely, squeezing you tightly, “Should we start planning our outfits for their wedding? We can wear matching ones!”
You nodded, smiling so wide at your mate. Watching him as he throws out every outfit idea possible.
The more you listened to him talk, the more your thoughts took you in another direction.
You’ve been bonded to Jungwon for quite some time, yet you’re still just a human.
Jungwon always said after everything with Dorian was taken care of that it’ll finally be the perfect time to turn you.
But when would that perfect time be?
Jungwon has to be careful with you. Whether it’s kissing, cuddling, hugging you, or gently pressing you down onto your shared bed while he carefully hovers above you gently touching you.
If you were a vampire too, he wouldn’t have to treat you like a glass doll.
“Y/N?” Jungwon called to you, waving a hand in your face, your attention coming back to reality. “Y/N? Baby? What’s wrong?”
You softly smiled, “Nothing, I just zoned out.”
Jungwon, cupped your face in his hands, “You’re really cute when you zone out.”
You giggled, rolling your eyes at him, “Wonnie, my eyes were probably all crossed.”
He tried to hide his smile by shaking his head, “No, they weren’t.”
You shoved him, “You’re a liar Wonnie!”
Jungwon finally let his beautiful smile show, giving the tip of your nose a soft kiss.
“I love you.” He said, placing his forehead against yours.
“I love you too, Wonnie.”
Jungwon placed his lips to yours, his thumbs rubbing gently on your cheeks.
Jungwon’s heart rate was increasing sitting this close to you…the smell of your blood through your body made him dizzy. He wanted to drink from you.
After the night of your first date when he got the taste of your blood on his tongue, he craved it even more.
Drinking from the blood bags wasn’t enough anymore, it got him by, but it wasn’t the same.
Jungwon has wanted to ask to drink from you again but was way too scared to. Mostly now that the rest of the pack isn’t around to stop him in case…he loses control.
You trusted him, he knows you do. But the last thing Jungwon wants to happen is to drink too much and he loses you.
He wouldn’t be able to live if he lost you.
Normally being this close to you never bothered Jungwon, there’s only been a few times when the smell of your blood got to him. But most of the time he was able to control it. But tonight was hard.
Jungwon deepened the kiss, his hand sliding down to cup your neck gently. He was already starting to lose control.
You felt Jungwon’s fangs poke your bottom lip, slightly scaring you.
You released your lips from his, slightly pulling back, “Won?”
Jungwon looks up at you, his crimson eyes glowing, fangs peeking out from his top lips, not fully retracted yet.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered, “I’ll go grab a blood bag and take a walk to calm down.”
He started to stand up, but you pulled him back, “Wonnie,” He softly looked at you, his chest rising and falling, “Just drink from me.”
Jungwon’s heart rate sped up, shaking his head quickly, “No. Not happening.”
“Why not?”
“No one else is here to help keep me in check,” Jungwon admitted, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Jungwon,” you cupped his face with your hands, “I trust you.”
You backed away from him, tilting your head and sliding your shirt down to your shoulder, neck fully exposed.
Jungwon’s fangs completely retracted, his breathing becoming uneven.
“Baby…I-“
“Just do it, please.” You interrupted him.
Without a second thought, Jungwon’s fangs were attached to your neck, breaking the skin.
You gasped at the sudden puncture. Feeling his lips and tongue on your skin, taking in your blood.
Jungwon placed his hand on the other side of your neck, the other tearing your shirt apart, giving him even more access to your bare neck.
You wrapped your arms around him, hands playing in his hair as he continued to feed from you.
Jungwon was in heaven. Absolute pure bliss. The high ones feel from smoking weed, is the same feeling he gets from drinking your blood. All he wanted to do was chase this high even more.
“Wonnie,” you softly breathed out, “I’m starting to get dizzy.”
Jungwon didn’t want to stop but knew he had to. Right when he was fixing to release his fangs, your voice stopped him.
“Turn…me…” you carefully whispered, head so dizzy you could barely make out the words, “Keep…me forever.”
Jungwon never thought you’d ask.
He’s been wanting to wait until it was a perfect time and moment, but what better moment than right now while he already has his fangs deep in your neck?
“It’ll sting, baby,” he said in your neck, taking more of your blood down his throat before pushing his fangs in deeper, the venom releasing from them.
You gripped onto his shirt, your whole body burning from feeling his venom, oh his sweet venom, travel through your bloodstream.
Jungwon released his fangs from your neck, your blood dripping from his lips and onto his shirt.
His hands held you tightly and your body went through the motions.
You figured his venom soaring through your body would be painful, you’ve seen enough vampire movies to know that the venom isn’t a walk in the park.
You kept gasping for air, and pulling at Jungwon even tighter.
“Shhh baby, it’s okay, I am right here. It’s almost over, I promise.”
You felt your K9’s coming to a sharp point, poking your bottom lip.
Then everything all at once fell quiet. Your body stopped hurting but damn you had a massive headache. You felt the holes that were once in your neck from Jungwon were now closed up, not a scar in sight.
You slowly open your eyes, Jungwon being the first thing you see.
Jungwon smiled at you, seeing your now crimson eyes glowing back at him, “How do you feel baby?”
You softly scoffed, “My head hurts, and I’m hungry.”
Jungwon chuckled, cupping your face with his hands, “I’ll get you some blood bags, okay?”
You nodded, observing your mate as he walked to the kitchen, grabbing a couple of blood bags from the fridge.
“Wonnie?” You called for him, he glanced over at you from the kitchen, the bags in his hands, “I think you need to change your clothes and clean your face.” You circled your finger over your lips.
Jungwon chuckled again, looking down at the blood on his shirt, “Yeah I’ll go change.”
Jungwon set the bags down on the counter beside the sink, running the water and splashing his face, your blood washing down the drain.
He quickly made his way to you, handing you the bags, “I’m going to change my clothes and I’ll be right back. Drink but do it slowly, okay?”
You nodded.
Jungwon placed a kiss on your forehead before running off to your shared room and returning to you within seconds.
“You’ll have to teach me how to run that fast.” You said, placing the blood bag to your lips, and taking it all in.
Jungwon pulled your hair behind your ears, “The only thing I’ll need to teach you is control, and even then I have full faith in you.”
You felt different, brand new. Like you could take on the entire world.
“Well, we now officially have eternity to figure it out.” you smiled at him.
“Yes baby,” Jungwon whispered, placing his lips to your nose, “All of eternity.”

You held onto Heeseung’s hand tightly as he drove, the sight of the castle coming closer into view.
The castle that’s rightfully your mate, one he has completely discarded to protect his family and the future of his family.
Heeseung gripped his hand on the steering wheel, his jaw locking in place tightly. Every terrible memory comes back to him.
You circled your thumb over the top of his hand, “Hee, it’s okay.”
Heeseung nodded, glancing over at you quickly then back at the road, smiling, but it was not the kind of smile you’d wish it would be, “Yeah, I killed the old king, he can’t hurt me anymore so why should I be afraid?”
You sighed, “Baby, your trauma from this place is valid, you’re the new king, and you have a family and pack that will back you up with everything they have. You have the power to turn this once terrible place into something greater and more loving.”
Heeseung nodded, a real smile forming on his lips, “You’re right, Y/N,” he lifted your hand to his lips giving the top of it a soft kiss, “I will turn that ugly place around for the better.”
Your heart raced at this Heeseung, happy that he decided to fully take up his mantle as king, to rule the way you knew he could.
As you got closer to the castle, the more beautiful it looked to you. The snow covered the ground around it and just made the scene straight out of a movie.
Heeseung pulled to the gates of the castle, then slowly opened and drove through.
Heeseung sighed, “Old sweet home.”
He parked the car and both of you got out, Heeseung rushing to your side, his arm wrapping around your waist.
You looked around the castle more when you were up close, it was hard to believe this beautiful castle once held such a shitty king.
The guards stationed around the castle turned towards the both of you.
It’s been way too many years to count since Heeseung was last here, he wasn’t sure what to expect and the last thing he wanted was any blood being shed.
His grip on your waist tightened and pulled you closer to his body when the front doors opened, two courtiers (one male and one female) stepped out, rushing towards you.
Your body stiffened, ready for anything.
“We aren’t fighting,” Heeseung whispered, “Relax.”
“Then why are you holding onto me so tightly?” you whispered back, “I can handle my own.”
“I know that,” he quietly snapped, pulling you even closer to him, “But I protect what’s mine. Plus maybe I just want you close to me. So relax.”
You relaxed your body just in time for the courtiers to reach you both.
They both kneeled on the ground, “Your majesty!”
“Please stand,” Heeseung said, standing up a bit straighter.
You place your face inches away from his, “So formal my king.” You teased, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Heeseung rolled his eyes, his hand on your waist pinching your side.
The two courtiers stood, turning to you and giving you a bow, “My lady,” You bowed back, “We have eagerly awaited your return, my king.”
Heeseung thinned his lips into a line, slowly nodding, “I had my reasons for leaving.”
The female courtier nodded, “Yes sir, we do not blame you for your absence.”
“In your absence, we took great care of the palace.” The male one clapped his hands together, “All the staff is ready to rule under you, sir. And the ones who were loyal to the old king have been taken care of.”
Heeseung wasn’t sure what to even think. He fled this place so long ago with no care in the world about how it would turn out. He just wanted to get Jay and Jake to safety and away from this horrible place.
Heeseung still couldn’t even believe that he was standing right here in front of it. All he wanted to do was get this weekend over with and go back to the comfort of his home and his pack.
“Where is your pack, your majesty?” They both asked.
It didn’t sit right with him that they even asked about his family, “They are in their respected homes, no need for them all to come here.” Not to mention the last thing Heeseung wanted was to bring Jay and Jake back to this place and then expose the rest of his family to this place. You only came along because you forced him to let you come, making a point that since the two of you are bonded, some oaths Heeseung will make will involve you anyway.
“Call them over!” the female smiled, “We have plenty of bedrooms for each of—“
“No!” Heeseung snapped, both of the courtier's eyes widening. You placed a hand on his chest, feeling how fast his heart rate was.
“Baby,” you whispered. Heeseung looked down at you, releasing a sigh and nodding.
“Apologies,” Heeseung said, clearing his throat, “My pack has other duties back home.”
You could see how badly this was affecting him, and you understood it completely. If you and __ ever had to return back to any of Dorian’s compounds, you’d be acting the same way. But at the same time, you knew this was different. Heeseung is the vampire king and the duties he has here are something he needs to do, Jay even said so.
The courtiers nodded, awkwardly smiling.
“Please come inside,” the male stepped to the side, extending an arm out towards the door, “We have a meal waiting and later a party.”
You could feel Heeseung’s hand trembling against your waist.
The time has come to finally step foot back inside the castle.
You took both his hands in yours, “Hee,” he glances back over to you, “I am right here, it’s okay.”
Heeseung nodded, putting a kiss on your forehead and squeezing your hands tightly, “Let’s get this over with.”
You both followed the courtiers inside, the doors closing behind you.
Heeseung was looking up, down, left, and right the moment he stepped foot back in.
All the terrible memories came back to him. The castle looks exactly the same as it did the day he left. Except all the old kings' decorations have been removed. The walls are now covered with old paintings and artifacts.
Which was enough to relax his nerves a bit.
“By the way, my lady,” the female courtier popped up at your side, “You may call me M, and he is E.”
You nodded, looking around the main entrance, taking everything in.
“Right there way, my royals,” E said walking towards a room off to the left, “We have many things to discuss.”
—
Heeseung laid face first into the bed, letting out a loud groan, talking into the bedsheets.
“I can’t hear you, baby,” you chuckled, sitting down on the bed beside him.
Heeseung rolled over onto his back, “I have never signed so many papers in my entire life and I'm a doctor and immortal.”
You laughed, laying down beside him, “You’re telling me, my hand cramps from signing the few that I did. Who knew being bonded to a king was so much work.”
Heeseung rolled onto his side facing you and wrapping his arm around your waist, scooting closer to you.
“Regret bonding forever with a king now?” Heeseung teased, brushing his nose to your temple.
“Of course not,” you tapped his arm, “Don’t say such silly things.”
Heeseung removed his hand from your waist, placing it to the side of your face, and turning you to look at him, “My queen?”
You smile at him, “Yes, my king?”
Heeseung smiled wide, “Might start catching an ego if you keep calling me your king.”
You rolled your eyes, “Whatever you say, my king.”
Heeseung pulled your face to him, kissing you softly.
“I told you it was going to give me an ego boost,” he said between kisses pulling your body closer to his.
Heeseung ran his hands up and down your back, deepening the kiss.
You wrapped your leg over his hip, pulling your bodies closer together. His pants getting harder against you.
A knock on the door and a second later it flung open, “My king, my lady,” You and Heeseung quickly sat up, “Oh, sorry. Did I interrupt something?” M said, her head peeking from the other side of the door.
“No,” Heeseung breathed out, crossing his arms over his chest, “Nothing at all.”
“The guests are starting to arrive for the party of your return.”
Heeseung hung his head low, he forgot about the party.
“E and the tailors are waiting for you in the room across the hall. My girls and I will take care of Lady Y/N.”
You patted your mates back, “Go on, get all dressed up.”
Heeseung stood from the bed, giving you one final peck on the lips before making his way out of the bedroom.
—
You were surrounded by many pretty girls as they curled your hair and pinned some back.
M returned from the closet with a pretty red dress, holding it up to your body, “Ah yes! This color will suit you perfectly!”
You smiled. Dressing up wasn’t something you were used to. Dorian never held parties such as these, and even when there were parties, everyone was dressed and ready for a battle just in case it happened.
M bent down in front of you, a makeup pallet now in her hands.
“Oh dear, let’s cover-up that scar.”
“No!” you quickly rejected. Realizing your tone and taking a deep breath to become more professional, you’re bonded to a king after all, “No thank you, this scar is important and a part of me. I am fine with it being shown.”
M nodded, giving you a soft smile, “May I ask how you got this scar, my lady? Vampires usually heal pretty quickly.”
You chuckled thinking back on the memory. Heeseung’s golden eyes and fangs out as he held the blade to your face.
“Heeseung,” you giggled, “Heeseung gave it to me.”
The girls stopped messing with your hair and M just stared blankly at you, “The king?”
You nodded, “It was a while ago before we bonded. Things were very…different at that time. He was protecting our pack.”
M nodded, opening the makeup pallet as the girls continued fixing your hair, “I heard the king has healers within his pack, why not let them fix it?”
“Our pack…” you corrected, “I wanted the scar as a reminder of where I came from and where it led me. It’s more important than I can describe.”
All M could continue to do was nod, “You’re still beautiful even with the scar, my lady.”
Heeseung left the room, shoving his hands down his white dress pants. The king's gold shone down the sides as he walked.
The white jacket they put him in made him feel uncomfortable. How did the old king wear outfits like this all the time?
Heeseung just wanted this party to be over with. To lay back in bed with you and sleep the rest of the next day away.
Just has to go through this party, take the rest of the oaths tomorrow, and then he’ll get to leave. He was counting down the minutes.
Heeseung mindlessly walked around the floor, passing by all the rooms where the old followers of the past king would sleep. Passing by the library where Heeseung spent a lot of his time reading medical books he first found his passion to help people.
As he continued to mindlessly walk, he was taken back to the last time he was here. The people that were here. The sounds. The smells. Everything. The moonlight that shined through the massive glass windows was the only light source in the castle.
He found himself opening a random door, walking in, and stopping in front of a desk. Once Heeseung drew himself back to reality, he realized where he was.
In the study.
The same place he killed the previous king.
Heeseung stared at the desk, remembering how he walked in here that fateful night. The king called for him.
Heeseung snuck one of the king's daggers from the armory in the basement and hid it behind his back as he walked into the study, standing in front of the old king as he read through a book, telling Heeseung to get over the death of the girl he considered a little sister, and that he was going to send him off to collect more women for him.
Heeseung refused, not wanting to almost kill another person just for them to be turned into a monster like him.
Before the king could ever retort, Heeseung’s eyes turned their old bright crimson, his fangs poking out from his lips as he quickly swung the dagger at the king's throat, his blood gushing to the floor.
Vampire kings healed faster than normal vampires, and Heeseung prepared for that. Quickly jumping onto the desk, his shoes getting covered in the king's blood. Heeseung took the king by his hair, pulling his neck far enough back so the skin couldn’t reattach itself.
“Fuck…You…” Heeseung angrily breathed, using what little strength he had left to swing the dagger again, cutting through the rest of the king's skin, and detaching his head. Heeseung was now fully covered in his blood.
Heessung tossed the head into the fireplace behind the desk, watching as it burned to pieces.
Heeseung dragged what was left of the old king outside to the massive fire pit where the rest of the dead king's subjects were sitting.
He held up the body, earning gasps from every direction, then tossed the remainder of the dead king into the fire.
Jay and Jake made it outside just in time to see Heeseung turn to face them, his eyes turning from their normal bright crimson, into the bright gold.
A knock on the study door snapped Heeseung out of his memory, turning around to see E standing in the doorway.
“Took a walk down memory lane?” E asked, a big smirk on his face.
Heeseung locked his jaw, looking back at the desk, “I did it to protect-“
“To protect Jay and Jake, I remember. You also did it to get your revenge for him killing Alannah.”
“Don’t…say her name.” Heeseung snapped, holding his hand up to quiet his courtier, “Let her just rest in peace.”
E nodded, “Sir, may I add you look like a perfect fit to be the king.”
Heeseung shook his head, “I am only king because I was brave and angry enough to get the drop on him. Otherwise, I would have never even considered it.”
E sighed, “I think it was your fate to become the king, Mr. Lee.”
Heeseung glanced at him, furrowing his eyes.
“I have known since the moment the king brought you and Jay into this castle. The fire you had behind your eyes was unlike anything I have ever seen. No newborn vampire ever had that much fight in them. Jay was angry, yes, but you? You were ready for war before it was even given to you.”
Heeseung looked away from his courtier, looking back at the desk.
“I knew you would kill him.” Those words forced Heeseung to look back around, “I knew you would be the reason for the old king's undoing. So when I saw you dragging his dead body down into the courtyard and showing off the way you did, all I could do was smile. My loyalties were always with you, Mr. Lee. From the moment you walked into this castle.”
Heeseung didn’t know what to do with this confidence that E was trying to give him. But no matter what, Heeseung was now finally ready to be king.
“Thank you, E. I think your words were just what I needed.”
He nodded, “May I also suggest something else for your oaths?”
“Go ahead,” Heeseung said, walking out of the study, leaving the bad memory behind him.
E followed after him, “I think proposing to Miss Y/N would be in order.”
Heeseung stopped walking, “Marriage?”
“Yes! She isn’t fully a queen. I name only, but not title.”
Heeseung turned and looked at his courtier, “So unless we get married, all the paperwork you threw at Y/N this morning would be pointless??”
E shrugged, “Yes and no. She can still hold duties as queen, but again, in name only. Not an official title.”
Heeseung chuckled, “Who set that dumbass rule?”
“The very first vampire king,” Of course, “The first king had a mate who he wasn’t bonded to, she tried to overthrow him and take his throne. It was a whole thing. Had to be there to witness it kinda thing.” E laughed.
Heeseung raised a brow, not finding this funny.
E cleared his throat, “Anyways, even if you decide to not marry Miss. Y/N, there won’t be any big difference, she just won’t have a lot of say in royal matters.”
Heeseung scoffed, “She’s my mate and shares the royalties now, she will have every say.”
E shook his head, “Unfortunately not.”
Heeseung clenched his hands into fists, thinking forcing people into a marriage is the stupidest thing ever.
It wasn’t even the idea that was setting Heeseung off. It’s the fact that it’s a rule for you to even have a say as a queen at his side. You are independent and don’t need him to make choices for you. You can do that on your own.
But Heeseung was also terrified that you wouldn’t want to marry him. You’re already spending forever with him and tied to him by the string of fate. What if you didn’t want to be tied to him in marriage as well?
“I can see your brain thinking, my king.” E said, waving a hand in front of Heeseung’s face, “You want to marry Miss. Y/N?”
Of course, he did, “Don’t even have a ring to propose.”
E smirked, “Oh but you do. M and I prepared everything.”
—
Heeseung stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at the crowd below.
It was filled with people he didn’t know and who didn’t know him, yet still trusted him as their king and to rule them.
It kinda scared him. When Heeseung fled this place with Jay and Jake, he never took a look back, yet here he was back at the exact place.
Heeseung had to admit it was different than before.
Heeseung was imagining what it would have been like to have his pack come along too.
To see them all dressed in formal wear, talking amongst the crowd, and dancing the night away.
Heeseung smiled at the thought. Knowing the human girls would be having a field day in such a big castle like this.
Sunghoon’s mate would enjoy this too. Being that she’s been around for quite a few hundred years herself. This castle would be perfect for her aesthetic.
You snapped him out of his thoughts when the door opened from the bedroom and you stepped out in that red dress.
It sent chills down Heeseung’s spine from how beautiful you looked.
If it weren’t for him having to act like a king in this moment his hands would be all over you and that beautiful red dress would be torn to shreds.
“How do I look?” you asked, shyly pulling a piece of your hair behind your ear, “I am not used to dressing up like this.”
But oh man did you love how Heeseung looked dressed up. His white suit did wonders for his body and looked so good on him.
The way he was standing there with his hands in his pockets, head slightly back to look at you and the way his hair was parted made your heart flip.
“Baby, you look stunning.” Heeseung smiled at you, lending his arm out towards you to take.
You pulled your hand to his arm, “You look amazing yourself.”
Heeseung shrugged, “Stop building my ego.”
You giggled, you couldn’t help it. Your soulmate was a good-looking man, how could you not build his ego?
E and M noticed you two at the top of the stairs, gathering everyone’s attention to you both, “Everyone! Please welcome Vampire King Heeseung and his mate Queen Y/N!”
Your heart skipped a beat at hearing the title of Queen before your name. The crowd below cheered and clapped before kneeling.
You won’t ever get used to it and neither would Heeseung.
You walked down the stairs together like how they do in every movie about royal and rich people. You weren’t sure if you were enjoying this or rather be back at home in your sweatpants cuddled up next to Heeseung while watching Niki and __ play video games.
You both spent the next couple of hours mingling with Heeseung’s subjects. He vowed to many of them to be greater than all the kings before him. And you know he’ll keep that promise.
The more the clock ticked away the more nervous Heeseung got. It was getting closer to the time of pulling you off back towards the staircase and asking that million-dollar question. Not just for himself, not just for you, not just for the pack, or even the title of king and queen. But for the pack and for the people you both will lead.
E gave Heeseung a thumbs-up from across the room. He nervously nodded. “Okay, we are doing this…” he whispered to himself, searching for you in the sea of people. Finding you being cornered by two other men. Oh, which pissed him off.
Heeseung made his way towards you, noticing the looks they were giving you. Heeseung tried to keep his temper down, to not show his golden eyes or let the fangs come out.
He placed a hand on your back, “Hey babe.”
You turned to look up at your mate, “Hello my handsome king.”
Heeseung turned towards the two men, both of them looking at him awkwardly, “Hello.” Heeseung said with such a tone.
“Your majesty.” they both said, giving him a small bow.
“Mind if I steal my forever mate, ya?” Heeseung smirked, wrapping his arm around your waist, and pulling you away from them.
“You weren’t being very nice.” You whispered, trying to keep a smile on your face.
“Hmm, I don’t care. They aren’t going to look at you that way. All heart-eyed and shit. Nah.”
This is the first time you’ve seen a jealous Hee, and you couldn’t help but kinda like it.
“They were harmless,” you teased.
“Keep teasing me and I’ll show you something far from harmless later, starting with that dress being torn from your body.” Heeseung smiled at the crowd, waving a hand to E to signal that it was the right time.
You sassily rolled your eyes at your mate, “Mmhm.”
Heeseung stopped walking in front of the stairs, standing off to your side.
E called everyone’s attention towards the two of you. Every pair of vampire's eyes were on you. You couldn’t wait for whatever speech Heeseung was fixing to give to be over soon so these eyes would be off you.
“Everyone!” Heeseung started, “I know there are a few many of you that I have already promised, but I would like to say it again right now.”
Heeseung released you from his arm, taking a step forward.
“I promise to be a king that you can be proud of. A king who will make major good changes. Not be a dictator like the previous one. I will not hide when things get hard. And rule with an iron fist to protect every one of you. That being said, I will need the help of a specific person.”
Heeseung turns towards you, smiling nervously. You smile back at him, nervous that you’ll have to come up with a random speech on the fly.
But what happened next wasn’t what you were expecting.
“Y/N…” Heeseung took your hand in his, and slowly got down on one knee, his free hand reaching into his pocket, pulling two rings out, “I don’t just tend to protect my people and our pack, but also you. As I promised earlier, I won’t hide when things get hard. I need you by my side to help me make these changes and be the king that I know I can be with you at my side.”
“Heeseung…” You whispered, eyes filling with tears.
“Baby, will you marry me? And officially be my queen?”
You nodded, trying to blink away the tears, “Yes. Oh yes!”
Heeseung quickly stood back up, sliding your ring to your finger and sliding his own on his finger.
You stood on your tip toes and placed your lips to his. The sea of vampires cheering.
All of Heeseung’s worries fade away.
The party soon ended with everyone gone and the castle quiet.
Heeseung pressed you up against the closed door to your bedroom, his lips not leaving your neck.
“Told you I’d rip this dress off you,” He said between the kisses that trailed up your neck to your jaw, “Gonna worship every part of you tonight, my bride.”
—
Heeseung and you took the last bit of oaths before signing the last few agreements and walking out the castle doors.
“You sure you don’t want to move in, my king and queen?” M asked, a worried look on her face.
Heeseung nodded, “I spent many terrible years here, M. Plus I have to get back to my pack. I may be a king, but I am not the leader of the pack, Jungwon will have my neck if I don’t return home soon. Niki and his mate are at our apartment waiting for our return as well.”
M nodded, “Very well.”
“Just know,” E added, “This castle is just as much as your home. And there’s plenty of room for your pack.”
Heeseung shook his head, “We have two humans in the pack, a witch, a dhampir, and an elf, I think they would prefer their own homes.”
E wanted to argue but nodded instead.
Heeseung opened the car door for you, helping you in before getting in the driver seat and driving away.
Once the castle was far enough away, you glanced over at your now fiancé, “You know damn well everyone would enjoy living in that castle.”
Heeseung chuckled, “I know. Jay and Jake would probably be against it at first though. I still don’t like that place.”
“Which is understandable, you three have the trauma.”
Heeseung took your hand in his, giving the top of your hand a kiss, “When should we officially get married?”
You hummed, “How about a summer wedding?”
Heeseung smiled brightly at you, “Say less, my love.”

snow storm causes the whole apartment complex power to go out, in which your hot neighbor offers to help keep you warm…
[2293 words] ☆ [pls do not repost]
Your whole body shook, pulling yet another blanket over your body.
Your sweatpants, sweatshirt, fuzzy socks, and beanie were not enough to keep you warm through this power outage.
This was one of the moments you wished you had a fireplace in your small apartment, yet here you are.
What was supposed to be a small snowfall turned into a snowstorm and the whole apartment complex’s power went out with no word on how long it would take for the power to come back on.
Your teeth grinded together as you pulled the blankets over your head, pulling your legs to your chest in hopes of getting warmer.
You tried to sleep, hoping it would pass the time, but due to your freezing, sleep was not going to come.
You decided to check your phone in hopes of seeing a message from the apartment complex's owner about when the power would be back but instead saw a text from your neighbor.
Jake: How are you holding up? Heard you sneezed earlier. The building is way too quiet. You: Obviously I’m freezing. Jake: Oh, you don’t have a fireplace, right?
You rolled your eyes at your text from him. He was clearly teasing you for not having one.
Jake was always teasing you any moment he could get. You both attend the same college and have many classes together, so once he moved next door the amount of “good neighbor” jokes he would say was more annoying than his shit-eating grin when he’d say them.
You: Jake, you obviously know I don’t have a fireplace, don’t be a dick :) Jake: Want to come over and use mine? The fireplace obviously, not my dick.
You bit your bottom lip in debate. It would be nice to finally be warm, but the thought of being stuck with Jake for god knows how long made you irritated. Mostly after his joke just now.
You: No thanks. I’m good. Jake: Y/N, I can clearly hear your teeth chattering through these walls. Jake: I am trying to be nice here. Jake: Just come over, would ya? Jake: The door is unlocked.
You knew the best option would be to rush next door and sit in front of the fireplace with him.
Fuck it.
You jumped from your bed, slipped your feet into your slippers, and rushed out of your room.
The hallway was way colder than inside your apartment. The darkness of the hall reminds you of something from a horror film, the moonlight outside being the only source of light.
You quickly jumped in front of Jake’s door, knocking frantically.
After a soft “come in” was heard from the other side, you opened the door and quickly stepped in shutting the door behind you.
You quickly took in Jake’s living room, his couch being pushed up closer to the fireplace.
Jake raised a hand from his couch, “Over here.”
You kicked your slippers off, ready to sit close to the fire, only for your smile to turn upside down seeing Jake sprawled out, lying down.
The only thing you could see was his eyes, the rest of him being completely covered by his blanket.
You stared back at him? raising a brow, “Move over?”
Jake furrows his brows, “No, Hi? Hello? How are you? Nice weather we are having?”
You rolled your eyes, “Hi Jake, the weather sucks, move over, ya?”
Jake lifted the blanket off his body, patting his hand to his stomach.
You blankly stared at him, confused. Until it clicked in your head.
Jake could read you like a book, your facial expression telling exactly how you were feeling, “Y/N, just come lay down.”
You shook your head, “No, I will sit on the floor.”
Jake rolled his eyes this time. This was further than ideal for him too. All he was trying to do was be nice. Even with the fireplace he was still freezing and can only imagine how cold you were.
“Y/N, we would warm up faster, it’s basic science and survival tactics.”
You tucked your lip between your teeth. You knew he was right, plus he has his couch so close to the fireplace that you wouldn’t be able to fully sit in front of it anyway.
You rolled your eyes and dropped your arms at your side, “Fine!”
Jake smiled at you as you laid down on top of him, your head nuzzling in his neck. He threw the blanket back over your body, his arms wrapping around you.
You hated to admit it, but this was nice. Your body slowly warms up, but obviously not fast enough.
“If we strip down, we'll warm up faster.” Jake teased.
You weren’t looking at him but you could feel his smirk that was slapped across his face.
“Shut up, Sim.” you scoffed at him and a little chuckle left his lips.
“Hey, I am just saying.” he shrugged his shoulders and you barely looked up at him, glaring at him.
Jake absolutely loved teasing you. He loved how easy it was. You looked way too cute to him when he got you all mad.
The way you’d look at him and the smiles you would try to hide when you thought he was being funny. It pulled at his heart more than he’d like to admit.
Jake closed his arms and wrapped his arms a bit tighter around you, his main focus to help keep you warm.
Unfortunately laying in the same position was making you uncomfortable. You slowly started to wiggle around, trying to lay more comfortably.
The friction of you moving against him was sending Jake’s thoughts into other places, biting down on his lip and steadying his breathing to keep calm.
But you noticed all the well the bulge growing in his sweatpants against your stomach.
“Sim Jaeyun,” you warned, shifting your leg up a bit, accidentally rubbing your knee against his hard length.
“Stop moving then, jeez.” Jake spat out, his heart racing against his chest.
You could hear how fast his heart was going, how it threatened to beat out of his chest.
You just wanted to be comfortable, “Let me get comfortable and I’ll stop moving, I promise.”
You slowly lifted your leg a bit more, Jake’s hand flying to your thigh, giving it a soft squeeze.
“Y/N,” he softly breathed out. You looked up at him, seeing the lust that filled his eyes, “If you keep moving on top of me, I can’t promise I’ll stay on my best behavior.”
The way his voice spoke those words sent chills down your spine. You’ve never seen Jake look so serious and so…hot.
You’ve always been attracted to Jake, he was such a good-looking man. But the Jake in front of you with lust and want written all over his face was enough to dampen your panties. With the way your name rolled off his tongue in warning made something in you click.
Jake slowly laid his head back down on the armrest, his grip on your thigh not leaving.
With the way Jake looked at this moment, made you want to test his limits. The way his eyes searched for something on the ceiling to focus on while his heart pounded and his dick twitched against your tummy.
The hand that rested on his chest, you slowly slid down, your fingers brushing his soft skin where his shirt slid up from your leg.
Jake hissed at your touch, his eyes closing, “Y/N, this is your last warning.”
But you kept going, reaching your thumb to slide against his tip over his sweatpants, a soft “fuck” leaving his lips.
You moved your hand down more, all your fingers grazing his clothed hard-on. His hand leaves your thigh to grip your hand.
“If you keep up-“
“Kiss me.” you interrupted him. And that’s all it took.
Jake’s lips found yours, one hand was placed at the side of your neck and jaw, and the other went back to your thigh.
Jake kissed you with such hunger, his hand squeezing your thigh tightly.
His tongue found its way into your mouth and rubbed against your own as he moaned on your lips.
You snaked your hand down his sweatpants and underwear, wrapping your hand around his length, your thumb rubbing the precum around his tip.
Jake released his lips from yours, resting his forehead on yours panting with each stroke your hand made.
Strings of “Fuck fuck fuck fuck”, rolled off his tongue as you pumped him.
You released him, sliding both hands up his torso and pulling his shirt along with them.
Jake helped you remove his shirt and right after removing your own. Your shirts and beanie being thrown off somewhere else in the room.
Jake kissed you again, his hands sliding from the sides of your face down to your shoulders, his fingers looping at your bra straps pulling them down.
With just two fingers, Jake unclasped your bra and removed it from your body.
The skin-to-skin contact drove you insane with how warm his body felt against your own.
Jake squeezed your ass, a soft moan leaving your mouth and oh god it was music to his ears.
Jake wanted to feel every inch of you. To worship your body the way it deserves to be.
“Take your pants off,” he whispered, his thumbs looping into your sweatpants.
You sat up getting rid of your pants and panties, your hands reaching for Jake helping him slide his off.
His cock slapped against his abdomen, the precum glistening from the light of the fireplace.
Jake’s hand snaked between your folds, groaning, “You’re so wet for me baby.”
His long fingers pumped in and out of you. You flip your head back and dig your fingers into his chest.
You rolled your hips against his fingers. Jake bit his lip at the site of you riding his fingers, your juices coating them.
God you were a sight to see, your facial expressions sending Jake over the deep in.
He loved the way your hips rolled against his fingers, he needed to see how they’d work with his dick deep inside you.
“Baby,” the Aussie man pled, “I need you on my cock, please.”
You nodded, lifting yourself and lining the tip with your entrance.
Jake threw his head back onto the couch’s arm as you slid down into him, “Oh fuck baby.”
You started rolling your hips, placing your hands on his chest for support.
His hands went to your breasts, cupping both of them. Squeezing them with every roll of your hips against his.
“Fuck baby, you look so beautiful riding my cock. Such a good girl for me.”
“Hmmm, Jake, you f-feel so good.” you moaned out, sitting yourself up even more to bounce on his dick.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck, Y/N. Oh, fuck me.” Jake groaned, his hands flying to your hips, slamming you down onto him.
He helped you pick up speed, the knot in your stomach ready to burst.
Jake knew you were getting close with the way your breath became unsteady and how you clenched around him.
He felt like he was in heaven being fucked by an angel.
Jake has dreamed of this moment since the day he met you in class and knew it was fate when he moved in next door.
The moment he heard your soft moans coming from the other side of his bedroom wall he dreamt of being the one making you moan.
He tried so hard to cover his ears, knowing it wasn’t something he needed to be listening to, but found his hand wrapped around his cock as he pumped himself to your moans.
Now that he could hear your moans clear as day in his ears drove him wild.
“Jake, I-I’m cumming.” you pant, your movements becoming sloppy.
Jake pulled your body back down onto his, lifting his legs and wrapping his arms around your waist holding you down into place fucking into you.
Your hands went into Jake’s hair as you chanted his name.
“Cum for me baby girl,” he said between breaths, “Make a mess on my cock for me, ya?”
You let go, the ecstasy washing over you.
“That’s my good girl, so fucking good for me.”
Jake fucked you into overstimulation, his cock twitching inside you, ready for release.
“Jake,” you whispered into his cheek, placing small kisses.
“I’m cumming baby, fuck, I’m cumming.”
Jake connected his lips back to yours as he pumped his load into you, moaning against your lips.
Jake loosened his grip on your body, slowly moving his hands up and down your bare back as the kisses went from lustful to soft and sweet, filled with passion.
The only sound heard was your lips moving against each other and the crackling of the fireplace.
As if on cue, all the lights in his apartment came on. The sound of the heating system starting up.
“Guess the power is back.” You whispered against his mouth, slowly laying your head down on his chest.
“I don’t know about you, but I was plenty warm.” Jake teased, earning him yet another glare from you.
“And we are back to teasing, I’m going home.”
“No no, Y/N, I’m sorry,” Jake said, wrapping his arms tightly around you, “I am not ready for you to go yet.”
You giggled, “You know we are neighbors, right?”
“Mmhm,” Jake hummed, “Make sure you always treat your neighbor well, never know when another snowstorm will hit.”
You couldn’t be mad at him for that joke. He did keep you warm and won your heart over.
“Y/N?”
“Yes, Jake?”
“Let’s do this more often.

The last thing you expected to happen at two thirty in the morning was your best friend bending you over the table in the art room on campus.
The choices of your actions that caused this to happen: saying yes to a date by one of the guys from the digital arts program earlier in the day.
“Hey, Y/N!” Heeseung sang as he leaned over the table you were working at, “What are you working on?”
You turned and smiled at him, “My piece I plan to turn in for the art fair next week.”
You spun the sculptor around to show him.
“A tree?” he questioned, lifting a brow.
You rolled your eyes, “Not just any tree, each side of it will have the four seasons, and in between the seasons will be the transitions between them. It’s not done yet, I still have to finish the branches and leaves, then paint it and send it on its way!”
Heeseung nodded, giving you his famous smile while biting his lips, “I bet it’ll look amazing!”
You felt a pair of eyes on you, and it didn’t take a genius to know whose eyes they belonged to.
Park Jay.
You slightly turned your head, making eye contact with him.
Jay wasn’t even trying to hide that he was staring, or even listening to yours and Heeseung’s conversation.
He tapped the end of his pencil onto his sketchbook, his jaw locked tightly.
“Anyways,” Heeseung said, pulling your attention back to him, “I came to ask you a question.”
You gave him a small smile, “Hmm?”
Heeseung’s hands gripped the edge of the table, his head hanging down a bit to hide the huge smile he had and the fact that his face was slightly blushing.
“There’s this cool band that will be performing at this club tomorrow night, and I was wondering if you’d like to go with me?”
The daggers that Jay was already shooting with his glares, got ten times worse after he heard that question.
You glanced slightly back at him, a small smirk on your face, “Sure, it sounds like a lot of fun!”
Jay locked his jaw tighter, closing and slamming his sketchbook onto the table, standing up with a force that shot his chair back as he bolted out of the classroom door. Causing everyone to look in his direction.
Heeseung raised his brow at the commotion, “What’s Park’s deal?”
You shrugged, “Who knows, maybe he had a random fit of inspiration and had to go check it out?” You honestly didn’t know what his issue was.
Heeseung looked back at you, giving you a small smile, “You’re best friends aren’t you?”
You shrugged again, “Something like that.”
—
You checked the time on your phone, it was two in the morning.
You groaned as you sank into your chair, head resting on the desk.
“At this point, I won’t have it finished in time,” you mumbled.
Your art piece needs to be finished in three days for it to be ready for the art fair next weekend, and you aren’t even close to being done with your project.
The sound of a convenience store bag was set onto the table in front of your face.
Your eyes scanned the bag, before moving them to see Jay standing on the other side of the table.
“You haven’t eaten yet, have you?” He asked, dropping his backpack into the chair.
You sat up, shaking your head, “Didn’t have time to. I Need to get this thing done.”
Jay opened the bag and pulled out a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of water, “Eat please, then you can continue working.”
You nodded, taking the sandwiches.
Jay has always looked after you ever since you met at the entrance exams to get into this college. You both clicked immediately…in more than one way.
You and a couple of other people went out to celebrate getting accepted into the college, and to your surprise, Jay tagged along with a few of his friends who were also accepted.
A meal, some alcohol, and a few drinking games later, Jay had you pinned up against the outside wall of the bar with his tongue down your throat, hand down your pants and his fingers pumping in and out of you.
You both laughed off what happened between the two of you, saying it was the alcohol talking. But as the months went on and the friendship continued to grow, so did the sexual frustration.
“Let’s just fuck.” Jay said nonchalantly, his voice barely above a whisper.
You almost choked on your beer, your friend groups turning their heads to you, making sure you’re okay.
After confirming you were still breathing, you glared at Jay.
“What did you say?!” you softly snapped, making sure no one was listening.
“Did I stutter?” Jay said, crossing his arms and leaning forward onto the table, “I said let’s fuck. We both want it, might as well just do it once and get it out of the way.”
The sexual tension between the two of you was so obvious and has been for months. Jay hasn’t stopped thinking about the way your pussy clenched around his fingers. It drove him crazy and his hand wasn’t doing it for him anymore, he needed to feel you wrapped around his cock.
You knew taking this step with him would be crossing a line you could no longer come back from. Yet the thought of it excited you anyway.
Jay knew you were on board by the way you looked at him. He saw the gears in your brain turning.
Jay was so impatient, you both couldn’t leave the bar fast enough and make it back to the dorms in time. He pulled off on the side of the road, demanding you get into the backseat.
You rode him until you both came and you were seeing stars. Jay said over and over that this was the first and last time it’ll ever happen, that it was a quick fuck to get the tension away.
But a week later Jay was practically breaking down your front door to have another taste of you.
A year later and here you both were, still having sex together.
The only problem was your feelings were running so deep for him, but you knew he didn’t feel the same. You were his best friend that he had sex with. That’s it.
You finished your sandwiches and water within fifteen minutes, your hands going back to work on your sculpture.
Jay tried to focus on his drawing, spinning the pencil between his fingers as his eyes continued to move between the paper and you.
You felt his eyes on you, “You have a major staring problem today.”
Jay tilted his head, “Hmm, do I?”
You nodded, “Yes, or else I wouldn’t have said it.” You turned the sculptor, focusing on one of the branches, “You can also go home, Jay, I don’t need a babysitter.”
“Cancel your date.”
You looked over at him, “Excuse me?”
He crossed his arms, “Did I stutter? Cancel the date with Heeseung.”
You let out a laugh, shaking your head as you went back to your sculptor, “No. I’m allowed to go on dates.”
Jay locked his jaw, closing his sketchbook.
“You can drop the attitude also,” You said boldly, feeling the daggers he was now throwing at you with his eyes, “There’s no need for it.”
Jay stood from the chair, quickly rounding the table and spinning you around to face him.
His body pressed against yours as he backed you into the table. Both his hands are gripping the table on either side of you.
“You’re such a brat.” he hissed into your ear, his hips rolling into you, his hard length rubbing against your tummy, “Cancel the date.”
You didn’t understand why it bothered him so much that you had a date. Mostly since Jay went on plenty of dates with other girls. Why is it all of a sudden not okay?
You tried to keep your composure, tilting your head away from him so he couldn’t see how being this close was affecting you, “No.”
Jay chuckled, taking your chin between his fingers and forcing you to look at him, “Why are you being such a fucking brat? Huh?”
Jay placed his forehead against yours, his fingers letting go of your chin and tracing your jaw and down your neck, his fingers stopping at the buttons of your painter's coveralls, slowly unbuttoning them.
“You want him?” he asked, his lips inches away from yours, “Want him to touch you?” his fingers reached the last button, his hands sliding back up your body and slowly sliding the coveralls down your shoulders and arms, your white tank top now exposed.
Jay dropped the top half of your coveralls at your hips, his hands sliding under your tank top and gripping your hips. His cold hands sent chills down your spine.
“Answer me, Y/N,” Jay whispered, his warm breath hitting your lips.
“Why does it matter to you?” you whispered back with uneven breathing. You cursed at yourself for showing how weak you were for Jay, how you melted at his touch.
“Because no one can touch you like I can,” He said, one hand sliding up your tank and cupping your bare breast, his dick twitching at discovering you weren’t wearing a bra.
You let out a soft moan, his thumb doing circles around your nipple.
Jay snaked his other hand down your coverall pants, rubbing your heat through your panties. After a couple of rubs, he slid your panties to the side, your wet juices falling onto his fingers as he spread your folds.
“Because no one can make you as wet as I do,” he groaned, “Fuck, you’re so fucking wet for me baby, and I’ve barely touched you.”
You let out another moan as he slid his fingers inside you.
“So fucking wet,” he whispered, his fingers pumping in and out, his lips brushing softly against yours.
“Anything else?” you asked, wanting to push your limits with him, knowing damn well you being a brat turned him on so badly.
Jay curled his fingers and connected his lips to yours. You moan against his mouth as he kisses you hard, “Because no one can kiss you like I do.” he said between kisses.
You were in a losing battle. Your hands flew to his hair, your fingers tangling in it, slightly pulling.
Jay groaned against your lips, his dick throbbing in his coveralls. He needed you wrapped around him. Now.
Jay pulled his fingers out of you and released his hands and lips off your body. You pouted at him removing himself from you.
Jay’s hands were back at your hips, twisting you around and bending you over the table, his fingers looping at the ends of your coveralls and panties, sliding them off your hips and to the floor.
Jay’s breath hitches as he sees your exposed cunt, your juices slowly sliding down the side of your leg.
“Want to know what else no one else can do?” He says, sliding his coveralls and boxers down his body.
You lift yourself, turning your head towards him, “Jay we are in the art room...”
His hand pushes you back down, gripping the back of your tank top while his free hand pumps his length.
“Answer me, baby,” Jay demanded.
“What else can you only do…?” you whispered.
Jay lined his tip to your entrance, shoving himself inside you until he bottoms out.
The both of you moan at the contact. Jay slings his head back as you clench around his cock.
His hands found their way back to your hips, as he rolled his against your ass and picked up the pace.
You bit your lips as you tried to keep your moans down, not wanting any other students or staff to hear what was going on. Your hands gripped the other end of the table, your knuckles turning white.
“Because no one else can fuck this pretty cunt like I can,” Jay finally said, his voice filled with pleasure, the sounds of his skin slapping against yours along with the wet sounds of his fucking your pussy filled the room, “Oh fuck, no one can fuck you like I can.”
You couldn’t hold back your moans anymore, finally opening your mouth and letting them free.
“That’s it, pretty girl,” He says as he pulls your hair into a makeshift ponytail, using it to pull you up, more moans leaving your mouth, “Let everyone know how good I am giving it to you right now, moan my name like the good girl you are for me,” he whispered into your ear.
You did as you were told, his name falling from your lips.
God, he loved hearing how natural his name came from your pretty mouth.
“Jong-Jongseong…” you moaned out, the knot in your tummy ready to snap, “I’m cum…cumming.”
“Use your words, baby,” Jay said, pulling your hair more, “Tell me what you want.”
“Wanna…Wanna cum please…so close.”
“Fuck,” Jay groaned, “Cum for me baby, make a mess on my cock.”
As if on command, your sweet release came and your head spun.
Jay kept fucking you through your high, “And no one else can make you cum like me. No one can ruin you like me.”
You nodded, “Only you.”
“Fuck,” he moaned out, his thrusts getting sloppy, his climax nearing.
Overstimulation filled you, “Jay…”
“I know baby,” his hands flew to your hips, gripping them tightly, “I’m cumming.”
With one final thrust, he released his load deep inside you. Jay rolled his hips a few more times to chase out his high before dropping his chest against your back. His hands gripping on top of yours on the table.
“And no one can make me cum like you do.” He whispered in your ear.
Jay was so in love with you that it was pathetic. He has tried going on dates with other girls but always ended up at your door at the end of the night. No one else satisfied him and no one ever could. Except you.
Once Jay got a taste of you, you were all he wanted. No one else mattered.
And the thought of another man touching you…kissing you…trying to satisfy you…oh, it pissed him off.
Jay pulled out of you, his fingers quickly catching his dripping cum from your cunt, pushing it back into your hole, “Can’t waste it,” he said as he bent down and pulled your panties up and over your hips before removing his fingers.
Jay pulled his boxers and coveralls back over his hips then flipped you back around and helped you redress yourself.
Your eyes didn’t leave his face as you tried to read what he was thinking. Jay always took care of you after sex as well. God all you wanted to do was tell him how in love with him you were. But you couldn’t cross that line with your friendship.
“You’re mine, you hear me?” Jay spoke as he finished buttoning your coveralls, “Mine and only mine.”
He planted a quick kiss on your forehead, his hands cupping your face, “Cancel your date, baby. Please.”
And because of the sole fact that you are so weak for him, you nod in agreement.

Please.”
And because of the sole fact that you are so weak for him, you nod in agreement.

p1: vampires bleeding mlist
☾ sunghoon(1) | niki(2) | heeseung(3) ☽
You spent weeks trying to make Niki’s birthday perfect.
You bothered the boys nonstop about perfect gifts or things to do for him and with him.
The boys gave you plenty of ideas, and they were so perfect.
Until the day before his birthday, a snowstorm pulled in.
You blamed Sunghoon, for being the ice vampire prince that he was. Mr. Penguin in his past life as his mate calls him.
The school was even canceled Friday morning. Which obviously Niki and you were happy about.
But then all your plans went out the window.
“Jay! I don’t know what to do!” you whispered into the phone, peeking around the living room making sure Niki’s eyes and ears were still glued to the video game on the television, “Everything closed down.”
Jay sighed on the other end of the phone, “What does Heeseung say?”
You shrugged your shoulders as if Jay could see it, “What even would Heeseung be able to do?”
“You both live with him,” Jay scoffed, “Did you even think to see what Heeseung could help plan?”
You rolled your eyes, “Heeseung has been at the hospital all day, and __ is stuck at the hospital with him because of the storm.”
Even with Jay’s silence, you could hear his annoyance through the phone.
“I could bake him a cake?” Jay finally said, “I can bake it now and sneak it over there tonight.”
Your eyes brightened, “Please! Jay, thank you so much!”
“Yeah yeah,” he groaned, you could hear his face dropping into his hands, “I’ll call Heeseung and let him know too.”
You thanked him again and ended the call.
Out of the side of his eye, Niki saw you walking back into the living room.
He smiled wide, pushing the right side of his headset off his ear, leaning into the corner of the couch, and patting the space between his legs.
You sat between his legs, leaning your back against his chest. Niki rested his hands on your lap, fingers button smashing on the controller.
“Where did you run off to?” Niki asked, resting his head against yours.
“Missed me that much already?” you teased him.
Niki chuckled, “I always miss you when you aren’t beside me.”
“I just went to call Heeseung,” you lied, “I wanted to make sure they were okay at the hospital due to this storm.”
Niki shrugged, not having any thoughts or worries, “Hyung and __ are vampires, a little snow won’t hurt.”
You shrugged.
“I bet Sunghoon Hyung is having the time of his life.”
You agreed, “Want to watch a movie?”
Not even ten minutes into the movie Niki was slumped on the couch and passed out. Which was what you were hoping for.
You kept checking outside, moving the blinds every few minutes to see when Jay would appear with the cake.
Almost fifteen minutes passed before Jay walked up the steps of the apartment complex and to your door.
You quietly opened it, placing your finger to your lips, “He’s asleep on the couch,”
Jay nodded, carefully slipping in with Heeseung and __ following behind him.
“Jeez, that snow is terrible,” Heeseung whispered, sliding his coat off his body and onto the coat rack.
“Welcome home my king and queen,” you teased them, earning glares from not just Heeseung and his mate, but also from Jay.
“I said you don’t have to call us that,” Heeseung sighed, sitting down at the kitchen table, “We aren’t even fully oathed.”
Jay placed Niki’s cake in the fridge, pointing at it and then at Niki, basically saying to not let him get into the fridge.
Jay also sat at the table, wrapping his arms together, “Maybe you should go take the oath,” he said looking between the king and queen, “Now that you have a mate.”
Heeseung shrugged, “I’ll think about it,” he looked over at the sleeping Niki, “What’s the plan for tomorrow?”
—
You snuck out of your room, the smell of coffee filling the apartment.
You tipped toe to Niki’s room, carefully opening the door, and seeing him still asleep. After closing the door gently, you carefully walked into the kitchen.
Heeseung was brewing the coffee while __ was setting up the table.
“We can take the cake out in a few minutes,” she said, “Once Heeseung finishes the coffee we will pull the cake out.”
You nodded, grabbing four blood bags from the fridge and setting them down on the table, “He might wake up soon, so we have to hurry.”
She finished putting the plates, utensils, and napkins on the table beside everyone’s blood bags. Heeseung placed the cake in the middle, placing the candles on the top.
“I think it’s time to wake him up ourselves,” Heeseung whispered, “If he already woke up he isn’t going to come out since it’s Saturday.”
You nodded, “Light the candles then, I’ll go get him.”
You carefully opened his door, Niki was still very much asleep.
You slowly walked to his bed, sitting down on the edge, “Wake up, cutie pie.” you softly spoke, tapping your mate's shoulder.
Niki’s eyes fluttered open, a small smile forming on his face, “Good morning,”
“Good morning, sweetheart.”
Niki sat up in bed, stretching his arms out before pulling you close to him, “Let’s go back to sleep.”
“Oh no no no,” you place your hands on his shoulders, pushing yourself back, “It’s time to get up.”
Niki narrowed his eyes at you, he knew you were up to something, “What are you planning?”
You bat your eyes at him, “Me? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
You could tell by the look in his eyes that he didn’t believe you.
Niki wasn’t stupid. It’s his birthday today, there’s no way you didn’t have anything planned for him.
But he knew if he didn’t get up now, his hyung would be marching in here himself.
“Okay,” he said, cupping your face with his hands, “You’re up to something, Y/N, I can feel it.”
You rolled your eyes at him, “Just get up and get dressed. Brush your teeth too!”
Niki giggled, placing a soft kiss on your nose before he kicked you out of his room so he could change.
—
Niki walked out of the bathroom, after freshening up.
The apartment was dark, only the light from the windows came through.
He walked down the hall, to turn the corner to see you, Heeseung, and __ standing by the table with the light from the candles brightening the room.
A happy birthday banner hung on the wall, with a few red, yellow, and blue balloons.
Niki couldn’t wipe the smile from his face. How could he possibly even fight it? His loved ones were standing in front of him, celebrating his day.
They sang to him, causing Niki to hide his face in his hands.
You rushed him over to the table, “Make a wish, baby.”
Niki blew the candles out, the room falling darker but the sounds of his family cheering and clapping filled the darkness.
Once the lights were turned on, everyone sat at the table.
Heeseung cut the pancake-flavored cake, which was perfect for a breakfast food item for today, and passed a piece to everyone along with their coffee.
Even though vampires don’t need food, it was fun to enjoy it now and then.
Niki sipped on his blood bag, looking between his hyung, his mate, and you. His heart raced faster from the happiness he was feeling.
One by one, the rest of the members of the pack called and wished him a happy birthday.
Jake: “Happy birthday mate! Here’s to many more brother!”
Jake’s mate: “Enjoy your day little brother! Don’t cause too much chaos!”
Sunghoon: “Damn you’re getting older…but I am glad I share my birthday with you.”
Sunghoon’s mate: “You’ve grown a lot since we met, even with you being stuck at seventeen, you’re still growing older and wiser by the day. Happy birthday!”
Jungwon & his mate: “YOI!!! Happy birthday!!”
Jay: “Happy birthday little bro, enjoy the cake I baked for you.”
Jay’s mate: “Make sure to make plenty of birthday wishes and continue to raise hell! Happy birthday, Niki!”
The smile on Niki’s face wouldn’t leave, he could feel the muscles in his face getting sore from how much he was smiling and laughing.
You eventually leaned your head on his shoulder, snuggling close to him, “I am sorry your birthday couldn’t have been celebrated more. The snowstorm took us all by surprise.”
Niki wrapped his arm around you, pulling you closer, “I don’t need a fancy birthday party or even a fancy day to be celebrated a certain way. This way was perfect.”
You nodded, tangling your fingers with his, “What did you wish for when you blew the candles out?”
Niki shook his head, “Nothing.”
You sat up and looked at him, “Why not!?”
All Niki could do was smile, placing his hand on your cheek, his thumb tracing your jawline, “Because I already have my wish. To be beside you for the rest of eternity.”
You softly smiled, “But you already get that.”
He nodded, looking between you, Heeseung, and __, “Having you all beside me is enough. I couldn’t be more thankful for you guys, thank you for an amazing birthday.”
Heeseung clapped, “Here’s to you, brother.”
You pull Niki into a hug, “Happy birthday, Nishimura Riki, I love you so much.”
He hugged you back tighter, resting his face on your shoulder, “I love you too, thank you so much.”
