Tony started to protest when she pulled his food away- lowering his fork only after she showed no signs of giving it back.

"Like I said—"

He reached over to take hers in exchange, settling back into the couch. “Your idea.” The last part may have been muffled by an(almost tentative) bite of food, after which he pointed at the container, speaking around the mouthful. “See?— Yours is fine, are you trying to poison me?”

Pepper stood, taking the container with her to the counter behind them.

"Yes, because that was my plan all along. Poison you and take over the company."

Pulling out her phone, she opted to send an email to the owner, rather than call the restaurant. "But by all means, help yourself." Typing out a quick complaint, she leaned against the counter. "Next time, we can go wherever you want, tonight- it was my turn."

"Hello, mother dearest," Tate said as he pushed the door open, looking down at the papers in his hand. "Your secretary told me to give you these, since I was coming in anyways."

"Tate-" Turning back to her computer a moment, she hit send on an email and stood to take the papers from her son. "They must be the May contracts, I'll sign them later." Pepper flipped through them to confirm before setting them aside. "What can I help you with?"

“Well, as far as I can tell, his first word wasn’t ‘Fuck’ so- No? Not really.”

Does anyone in San Jose-Santa Clara- or the bay area in general have a couch I can crash on?

That way, I can stay close enough to work. I know I’ve made posts about this before, but it’s only getting worse. I can’t live with my father anymore. He’s verbally and mentally abusive and it’s bad for my mental well being…

I am great with kids and pets I can cook sorta I’m 20 years old I have a nanny job and will pay rent. I will be out of your hair as soon as I have the money to move to LA for school.. He offered to pay for school, but I can’t live here it’s not worth the possibility of money I may never see.

I’m desperate.
