The Conscience Consumer
For the Heart and Home
My wardrobe is evolving. As I'm attempting to clean out my closet and clean up the house I've discovered the need to mature my style.
Cheap random finds at a thrift store sometimes are just not enough to fill the blanks your closet or home are seriously lacking. You need the good stuff. The stuff that requires a bit more dough.
The investment pieces.
So lately i've been scouring the internet in search of this "good stuff" I speak of, getting familiar with small businesses and brands that are consciously producing. A new column for the blog, some groovy finds for you, and some new pieces for moi.
It's a win, win, win.

A TID BIT
I AIN'T NEVER SCARED.
So it's been awhile. A long while, but it's never too late to start back up again.
Truth is, blogging can be a very vulnerable and lonely experience. When I first started Likeatrumpet, the idea was not so much personal but inspirational and educational. I wanted more people on board and I wanted to do stories on community and conscience living, but honestly my muffled lifestyle made its way into this space. It started to become much more of a personal lifestyle blog and I honestly wasn't prepared to be so open. I wasn't prepared to showcase myself. My old feelings of blogs being a platform full of personal opinions and self- interest came rushing back, but this time aimed in my direction. Why should people care what I have to say? The doubt. The DOUBT. You ever feel that doubt? I'm sure you do.
Blogging is all what you make of it. It's up to you to create the narrative and content that you want to shape your image and your life. It pushes you to constantly create and look at life through glasses of "what can I share?" and it's a challenge that I continuously tell myself to accept.
Instead of running from fear, we're going to run straight into it. I'm gonna let this develop with my personal life and who knows the goodness that will come out of it. (Maybe my dream team will begin to develop along the way? *wink*wink)
As for me, I've been a busy bee since last time I shared. Currently I've been stepping up my music game, about to start an improv class, planning a big trip in the summer (that I'm so excited to share!) and above is a Moodboard I recently created in the Photoshop classes I've been taking. I'm still fighting the performer vs. documentarian within me, but I'm finding the balance in exploring both and staying open to what works. Staying focused on the good. Moving forward.
Don't doubt, just do.
#tbt baby style.
