This party’s a Scream.

“I don’t know. I haven’t seen all of you yet.” Which was obviously a remark that could be left open to interpretation. Plus there was part of her that didn’t quite want to give him the satisfaction of confirming his cuteness. Despite all of her actions basically confirming it. The look on her face was a somewhat puzzled one as the references went over her head. Still, it didn’t really matter. “I’ll find a way to keep you safe, don’t worry. You’ll survive until the end.” She gave his shoulder a reassuring pat and nodded. Smiling, she did a quick shrug. “As long as EJ would be comfortable with the possibility of me crawling into her lap, it’s all okay.” Not entirely a joke. The scream made her take pause and then she laughed softly, putting a hand over her mouth to try and cover it. She wasn’t laughing at the poor unfortunate soul, just from the surprise of the sudden noise. “Come on, let’s be tough guys,” she said, almost dragging him along further.
“I think I might need some R and R after all the spooks tonight,” he said, sounding overly serious but there was a little smile on his lips. If she was using Halloween as an excuse to snuggle up, he really didn’t mind. Taking her cue and keeping his mouth shut, he let her take him along to what looked like nothing. As the gate opened, he smiled. “That’s very sly,” he commented, obviously impressed. Although he wasn’t too sure about leaving his precious gear out of his sight, he had enough trust in her to do so. Undoing the straps of his homemade contraptions, he carefully set them to the side, making sure they wouldn’t suddenly topple or meet some other terrible, accidental fate. He had to do a double take when he turned back around and was greeted by a much less clothed EJ. “Fast…?” he repeated, as though words had become a thing he no longer understood. “Right. Fast and crazy. Got it. I will be both fast and crazy. For sure.”
“All you have to do is ask,” he teased, only meaning to say it as a joke. Peter wasn’t pushing anything on her, he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable or make her think he was only after one thing. “My hero,” he swooned slightly, pressing the back of his hand to his forehead as he did. When she talked about climbing into EJ’s lap, he had to laugh. The idea of such a tall person climbing into the lap of someone so small amused him. “You’d block the tv, you’re too tall.” Her reaction to the scream made him pause, maybe this was going to be more interesting than he had first expected. Taking her hand he walked with her around the bed, “Let’s do this.”
“Some R and R? Maybe some distraction too.” Smiling shyly she looked up at him through her lashes, her cheeks starting to burn even more, “We’ve been planning this for a while now. The further you get in the material of the maze changes into chain fencing, with the strobe lights and fog it’s hard to see very far but it gives us the chance to move and make people jump.” Turning to look at him she caught the look at her new attire, “I can’t climb fencing in that skirt,” she explained as she moved towards him. “There are places where the fence moves so you can jump against the fence at someone and then move fast enough to get out in front of them. Just follow my lead,” she whispered as she moved closer, brushing her nose against his as her lips inched closer, “Although I could stay right here all night.” Kissing him quickly she pulled away and looked into his eyes, waiting for him to be ready whatever happened.
