It's been a little while. You doing okay? If you've gotten writers block, fear not. It may be a mountain but you will conquer it. If life has taken over that's completely understandable, too. There are more important things than fandoms and fics. Life happens, and writing a beast like Headlock takes a toll. I do hope you haven't lost hope though and wish you all the best. I'm patiently, but eagerly, waiting to read more of your work regardless. The story you create is so worth the wait! I hope to see Akina and Kakashi reunited soon! BABES😭 this has been sitting in my ask box for so long and i feel so bad for not responding!

life got a little hectic recently❤️‍🩹 a family member of mine passed in late august and it deeply upset the dynamic of life for my family and so i’ve been going through a lot of adjustments! i also started a new job a week after, so that on top of figuring out a lot of stuff has been really taxing😭

i’m just rereading headlock now and getting back into the grove of writing! i’m hoping to update soon, but honestly i can’t make any promises😭 the reason i was able to update headlock so much before was because i had no job and too much free time when i wasn’t applying for jobs lol

but! hopefully updates are on their way! it’s also taken me awhile to update because i want to be true and authentic to akina and her story and this next chapter is going to be HEAVY and hopeful and just all the emotions because our girl is going to get out and reunite with kakashi🥺

seriously though, thank you for all the love and support! i’ve watched all the comments that get added to headlock and i am just blown away constantly by all the love that this fic has gotten, so thank you thank you😭 truly i wouldn’t be able to do it without support from y’all; you don’t know how much it means to me to get appreciation on this fic! so just a big thank you from me to all of you!

this blog is dedicated to the archive of our own fanfiction series, the tale of akina murasame, a kakashi hatake x original female character story published by @likeholymary

the first installation, headlock, is set during the naruto canon timeline and spans from the original series through shippuden.

the sequel, can’t take it in, is set directly after the events of the fourth great shinobi war and is a slice of life, domestic fluff fic!

Okay so I absolutely devoured this fic, I actually already left comments on ao3 but I just need to give you MORE PRAISE CAUSE HELLO!!!???

1st: your writing style! Ooof your writing style is so scrumptious and totally up my alley. It's rare to find writers like you. The detail! The angst! The slowwwww burnnnn! ❤️‍🔥 Your prose is so evocative!

2nd: your version of Kakashi is so so good. Seriously! Everyone has their own versions of him that are alittle different but I love the way you fleshed him out here. The smug smiles and amused gazes. Aloof but not overly so. You know he cares but he shows it alittle differently than others. Ugh I can't wait for him to reunite with Akina you crushed my soul with that fake trail woman. 😭 I can't wait to see the underlying romance surface bit by bit. But I'm all aboard the angst train for these two idiots.

3rd: “Gai, I don’t even know what we are.” He beamed. Full wattage. “Friends!” he announced. “Who will one day understand they are more than friends!” 🥺🥺😏😏😭😭 Okay this line is so good. I love love love how you write every character in this story! From the jonin to genin! Jiraiya and Naruto's comments about Kakashi and Akina get me everytime. 😂 I love it.

4th: Akina. AKINA. She's one of my favorite OCs I've come across. Perfect for Kakashi. I can't wait to see where you take this, especially for shippuden!

5th: okay this sequel!!?? I'm begging for more. Please. I NEED more domestic Kakashi and Akina. 😍 It's like a reward for reading through all the pain. 🥲 Aaaand I'm pretty sure there's more pain of some sort as we make our way through headlock. 🤨

Just a thought, what would the other Akina in 'Road to Ninja' be like? How would that world's Kakashi and Akina's dynamic look like? Would you be interested writing that in the spinoff?

okay honestly, i haven’t actually watched road to ninja🫣 i’ve seen a few clips and i kind of know what happens, so i dont really know!! i know kakashi has like, guy’s personality in road to ninja, right??

i actually have no idea how akina would be different😵‍💫

however, i HAVE thought intensely about what her dream would be in infinite tsukuyomi and it will bring tears when we get to that point in headlock😭

because in her perfect world, everyone is alive🥲

her parents, sakumo, obito, rin, minato, kushina, itachi, shisui, the uchiha clan, EVERYONE

and in infinite tsukuyomi akina and kakashi are essentially not as traumatized and are still deeply in love😭 and they have like four different dinner nights they go to every week even though they’re both introverts lmao

I just binge read headlock and I am obsessed with it. The slow burn is so good, I love the build up, the tension, the hidden yearning, everything. (Especially the angst, I love angst, hurt me more I can take it)

i watched k-pop demon hunters twice in twenty four hours… and i am in love

but also i’m confused… spoilers for KPDH!🫣

i feel like rumi went from ‘if this is the honmoon i’m supposed to protect, i’m glad to see it destroyed’ to saving the honmoon with no real change in her attitude WAY TOO FAST

we could have gotten her showing up to the saja boys performance at namsan tower like everyone else, disillusioned by the hunters until she sees mira and zoey in the trance. maybe then she could have had some flashbacks of them being close. and that could have been her making the choice to protect the honmoon and then starting to sing ‘what it sounds like’

idk i just felt like it went from being totally okay with gwi-ma destroying the world to saving it with no clear transition from point a to point b😵‍💫

is that just me?? did i miss something? i literally watched it twice because i couldn’t stop thinking about this after i watched it the first time lmao

p.s. this is not a hate post! i loved k-pop demon hunters and i can’t stop listening to the soundtrack and, like everyone else, i could SERIOUSLY do with an extended cut of the movie, with more content with celine, more background on zoey and mira and showing their connection with rumi, how zoey and mira even became hunters, etc. it was just such a good film, i need more😭
