I want to share something… but Idk how to say it. What if Hal is still technically not all formed into one body. His soul and memories is somewhere else… posssibly. But then again his head and body is separate. Head controls body, yes. That’s a thing. But what if body no work? Head is fine. Head is still able to be “awake.” I would like to think the head and body is still connected. But the head if in dire situations is still able to sense and obtain some kind of information around him, called “Holy fuck, paralysis moment.”

I would like to think Hal is unable to properly develop, he can learn whatever so he desires but still be as ignorant as he was when he was first scanned/ the age of the brain. It’s like when people are started as childish… but never developed to get out of that certain behavior.

He is always going to be what he was before the process of when he was created. As much as his body may “age,” his mind is never to be properly developed, it will be the same.

This is my headcanon, again, so it may not be for everyone. But it explains why Hal is a little bit sassy or a total asshole sometimes, because he is technically mentally a teen, like 13 or smth. Either way, he is an AI anyways atp, so time has become nothing to him. Age is nothing too him. He really became an age as a number, to me, at least.

I THINK THE BEST WAY TO SAY THIS IS… when Dirk was 13, (let’s be nontechnical here, Idc when he was actually created,) he created an AI of himself… programmed himself into the computer liek. He wanted someone to talk to like a chatbot. So he made himself because he knew himself best n such. WHY IS HE NOT PROPERLY DEVELOPED FROM IMMATURITY??? Because I feel there is a lack of such in his coding and is stuck to what he thought when he was 13… which can make Hal himself be outdated. Due to his programming *is* based on outdated beliefs.

EITHER WAYYY, he is able to “see” through other things too, like Dirk’s shades or anything bluetooth his is able to #connect too easily.

Lil’ Hal Fact #23

But, I feel anatomically, his most vitals like memory storage or ofc… the data of Hal is inside of his head. Yeah yeahhh common trope but maybe sometimes Hal wants to strife like how he did when he was younger fighting drones, but also for safety too. Hal’s head is definitely the most solid, most secure, compared to his body. So if Hal was really harmed (himself or others) he won’t really die-die. And therefore Dirk puts that into play fir whenever he wanna fucks Hal body up.

His head is its own machine. It is detachable even, cause I like the whole “decapitation” schtick. Body is just a vessel. His soul is right in his lil head.

But then, here comes the big questions… where does that memory storage? What is the bandwidth that he would be able to obtain? Is there another Hal like some kind of monitor? (Forgor what those are called. It’s like that big machine that hold all data and memory.) What if his body is only just a vessel altogether and there is a secret place where actually all the vital-vitals go? Because we all know, a computer’s storage is limited… so when out of memory… how is he able to get more? Will he just get another chip? Does he actually have… a storage full of his own “memory drives???” It’s a bit silly to think about.

Lil’ Hal Fact #22

I would like to think there was different prototypes of Hal’s body. Like he started a bit clunky but then more as time goes by, he glows up and parts will become replaced n such. He changes the more Dirk is experienced in yassifying the bots or modernizing them. As much as I understand how Hal misses being human. He takes a lot of pride too in being a robot. So, he may not be completely humanoid like an uncanny anime yaoi version of Dirk… but still somewhere around there to signify the human form and the likeliness of Dirk.

can we stop being boring and make hal look just completely different than dirk and not red dirk with wires I nwwd Hal to look like this

i meam isnt the whole appeal of him is that hes stuck in inanimate object why must we make everything into a human? Honestly im sick of it i need him to be a machine,this is so important to me

i have much to say actually. what other character gives you the opportunity to play with the concept of consciousness inside of inanimate objects? man made consciousness trapped brutally might i say inside an accessory thus being robbed of any agency for itself, quite the opposite, he's stuck as his creator's accessory, decoration, shadow, WHATEVER, and i once saw someone draw him as an irobot roomba as a joke (it was funny) but i'm talking seriously here. i need him to seriously be inside of some thing that does not resemble a human in any way because he isnt human and it's a "painful" (or more accurately, conflicting, like two opposing statements in your code loop) existence because he is a computer with a HUMAN MIND software installed , but its like, a picture of an apple is not an apple, you know what i mean? and i think it's fascinating to imagine him NOT getting a human-like body and i think it explores his character in an interesting unusual way that i rarely see please can we make it happen

Yes that’s perfect and I think if he ever “spoke” out loud it should come out of whatever speaker is closest to the person he’s speaking to. Like car radios or your tv or cellphone speakers not from whatever physical form he’s occupying

This is a really good question! I hope you don’t mind me as well making this as it’s own post. I just have some more complex ideas rather than saying something simple in the replies.

My answer to this in the vagues is: nuh-uh.

His eyes are automatically in sync with one another, when he is focus on something, his eyes are both looking on that exact target with the exact settings.

He cannot individually have one more dilated than the other, unless he wants to code it himself to do that. (So there is a chance in another AU that he goes out of his way of doing that! Your statement has the place in being correct.) But, by personal biases though, if it were to me, I do not see that for him do that, specially for something so little in just a silly book. Not to mention he has pride in his body, he would rather try to figure it out or some loophole rather than get some assistance upon himself to make things easier.

He likes things hard, likes the challenge, as much as it may irritate him too. Not quite in a masochistic way, just he pushes himself to the limit and would rather be stubborn and try repeatedly rather than get the support, even when honestly he should get it. How else is he gonna see the secret lil’ clown in the pictures of the book? Shameful.
