I drew him from the teaser! It was so aesthetically pleasing, I love the colours, the lighting, and the location...it's just so pretty and calming. Apparently Levanter will have the same mood, if that article is to be believed.

Well... I haven't drawn in a while and I definitely don't have time to draw full realism, so again, just like last time, I decided to draw in a more simplistic style (although the shading may be a little bit more realistic this time...just a little). I tried to focus on using the right colours and replicating the atmosphere of the original scene. This is why I tried making him appear small in comparison to everything else. I also avoided using pure white and making things shine that shouldn't.

I managed to spend more time trying to figure out how to avoid having to draw all the grass by hand than what it actually took to draw it.

I will try to make more improvement in the future. ( .....okay who am I kidding I'm too busy...)

I know that I’ve never been active for months now, but I finally have some free time again. And free time is not the only thing I have now, but also inspiration.

I’d like to continue writing scenarios, imagines and reactions about these amazing 7 people, but I’d like to ask for your help with it.

the problem with this situation is that no one seems to be able to find a respectful middleground between 1. cancelling chan with no room for forgiveness, and 2. infantalising a 21 year old man and his actions and saying that he did nothing wrong.

the fact is, chan DID wear a culturally inappropriate hairstyle! until further notice however, we also can guess from his actions that he wasnt on board with the hairstyle and it was likely not his choice.

does this mean we should cancel chan? no! unless he outright says that he doesnt care about the cultural meaning behind the hairstyle, or says that it was his choice to wear them, then we have no reason to assume (until further notice) that he was on board with them.

does this mean that we treat chan like a child and forgive all of his actions because ‘hes just a pure innocent baby who can do no wrong uwu’? NO. he is a grown man. a grown man who represents his company and may not be able to choose his style, but a grown man nonetheless who is able to take responsibility for his actions. he isnt a child. he isnt oblivious. he knows what is up and if he doesnt then he has the comprehension skills to learn why he messed up.

in the end the fact remains that he did mess up, and whether it was his decision or the stylists is unknown. we can treat this like it is: a disappointment, and one that deserves a fix because it is a matter of cultural appropriation, but not an unforgivable situation.

he is a grown man, and he is also chan, and he is also representing his company. these are all factors that need to be taken into account. this isnt the time to cancel him, this isnt the time to baby him, this is the time to wait and have faith that he will make amends. just be patient!
