The past four and a half weeks have been absolutely life changing.. I have touched the Pacific Ocean for the first time, four-wheeled with friends across beaches, shared conversations and laughs with locals, flew and bungeed through the clouds of Monteverde, witnessed the beauty of volcanoes, enjoyed the hot springs of Tabocon, watched hatchling Leatherbacks touch the ocean for their first time, drink pipa fresh off of the tree, and made countless new friendships and memories. I am so grateful for all that I was able to experience and for the memories that I have created. Seize Opportunity

Opportunities open around every corner. Seize them as much as possible. It will lead you into so many amazing life experiences, introduce to new exciting people, and change your life in ways you may not think you needed. Live with an open mind.. I have been in Costa Rica for just over a week now and it feels as if I have been here for months. The people I have shared stories and experiences with, the conversations I have shared both in English and Spanish. I came here with the mindset to throw myself out of my comfort zone more than I have in the past. Seize every opportunity that presents itself along my journey. The people at Maximo Nivel have done and incredible job of helping to open doors for me. This is only week one, and I can not wait to see what happens in the following three weeks.

Beautiful People

After what seemed to be the second longest day of my life (mostly due to my reckless irresponsible adult behavior the night prior) I made it safe and sound to my dear friend's house in Samara, Costa Rica. On the bus journey from San Jose to Nicoya to my final destination in Samara, in between the head nodding and the reading, I was remind of why I love to travel so much. The people. I love the connections that you feel and see with people from all over the world. The guy from New York next to me on the plane coming down with a group of friends for a bachelor party, the immigrations agent who let me slide through when I forgot to print out my flight itinerary for the return trip home (there's always something!), my taxi driver who spoke no English (and my Spanish is not the strongest) trying to explain where I need to be, the playful little girl and her polite mother on the bus sitting behind me, to the older gentleman who helped to make sure I caught the correct bus from Nicoya to Samara sharing bilingual conversations though we hardly understood a word from each other. THIS is why I travel. The Beautiful People you meet along the way. They may not play a huge role in your story but they are there to help you fill the pages. Whether it be a small or large impact on you, they touch you in one way or another.

Florida -> Costa Rica

The day is here-- I am currently sitting in the airport, patiently awaiting my flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. I am beyond anxious to begin my next volunteer journey, however I will be making excursion to Samara to visit with my dear friend (and old room mate) from Nepal.. After a few days of relaxing on the beautiful sands of the Pacific Coast, I will head back to begin my teaching program with IVHQ.
