Instead of choosing an intensive, unrealistic, or punishing goal this New Year ask yourself: What is one simple thing that would enrich my life this new year? Maybe you can do three paintings this year. Maybe you can buy and care for a potted plant. Maybe you can learn to cook one meal exceptionally well. You don't need to push yourself to the brink. Let's stop committing to punishing goals based on insecurity and start asking what will enrich our lives.
For Years my brother has been fucking with me by periodically texting me to say Jimmy Carter had finally died. Today the bit has paid off.
The response to my reaction at work was “what do you MEAN ‘for real this time’?????”
I fucking hate it here I’m crying
my partner is only 40 but nestled within him is the soul of an elderly man
Bastille was right. How am I gonna be an optimist about this. Also right about eh eho eho.

What the fuck
my friend was testing perfumes out at the store and she sniffed a bottle and anounced "ngl this bitch kind of sucks" The girl at the counter suddenly looked really sad, and my friend was like "I'm sorry, I wasn't talking about you." And the girl looked up and said "No don't worry, I didn't think that, but I just crushed a ladybug with my shoe" We both took a peak over the counter. she'd stepped on a red m&m
what if.... you vibrated your throat patch at me...
... and we nuzzled each other's sensitive faces…
...and we were both t-rexes?? 👉🏻👈🏻
hahaha jk.... 😂 unless??? 😳
Why is tumblr suggesting this
thanks @thetuberculosisgay cause I didn't know this either
It's worse than that actually. These type of motherfuckers tend to refer to themselves as protest "marshals" and will actively snitch out anyone getting rowdy (especially anyone in bloc) to the cops. They were EXTREMELY prolific during the liberal ass dogshit days of "anti war" protests in the 00s, but you still see em around pretty regularly. never trust a motherfucker in a vest.
Big fan of the way lesbians do gender, it must be said
Sometimes when I’m chanting in church or drinking a beer with friends or lying around and staring at the ceiling I’m like hell yeah I’m doing a Human Activity. This moment of my life could be included in a slideshow of common human behaviors. I’m doing common behaviors for my species.
People from 3,000 years ago would probably get the gist of what I’m doing here. This is awesome.
I'm going to get a good grade at being human, ect. ect.
you don't even like me. you just like my dubious morals and fat ass
My favorite part of tabletop gaming is when someone gets on a hot streak with their dice rolls and we start congratulating them as if it were a skilled feat instead of random chance like "Wow, Steve is so good at picking up a small rock and dropping it, when Steve picks up the small rock and puts it back down he does it way better than us"
sometimes i think about village sign languages and. man…
they’re these languages that emerge in isolated communities with a high incidence of deafness. and high is relative - there might be only a dozen or so Deaf citizens, but the whole community, Deaf and hearing alike, build and use the language together. in daily life, in homes and workplaces, in the street. languages unique to one town, one valley, even one family! they happen all over the world. (if you want to look into them there’s some cool work here)
but they’re fragile by nature. people move, settle, and marry; their village sign languages form and fade.
and that means there must have been… so many of them. so many. thousands and thousands, since, like, the earliest days of the human species. people just do this when conditions are right! they have always done it! a sea of lights flickering on and off and on and off, illuminating homes that are made and changed and remade. we’ll never know them. we’ll never know.
i just. i think about all that loss and all that life. it’s not an eternal flame, language, it’s a garden. we are continually tending it for each other. because, like food, we need it to survive.
