Carol Peletier & Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead S10 SDCC Trailer
was out talking pictures yesterday off of Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge. A man was coming out of this house with paint cans. We talked a bit about the precise restoration and when leaving I asked him how long he’d lived there. “Oh, I don’t live here…. it’s Elizabeth Warren’s house”
Victorian Home, San Francisco, California
Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster in the classic CBS sitcom The Munsters, 1964.
“I’ve said it before. I think, regardless of whether right now Daryl and Carol are in any kind of romantic entanglement, they are soulmates in that they just get each other perfectly. They have each other’s backs. They’re best friends. They can be honest in ways that are very specific to that relationship, and so they are always a really important part of each other’s lives. A major part of the story that we are already working on for Season 10 has to do with Daryl and Carol, and how are each of them coping in the aftermath of everything with the Whisperers; how do they deal with that conflict going forward? So there’s tons of story planned for Daryl and Carol. Norman and Melissa love working with each other. So you know, other than that, I don’t want to give away anything that compromise us story-wise. [laughs] But yeah, it’s one of our most fun relationships to write for in the show.”

Keyword: Soulmates.
Denise Huth speaking on Inside Season Finale:
“I think when people are in pain they revert to that which is most comfortable, and she has a different relationship with Daryl. It’s a different level of comfort than what she can get with Ezekiel.”
Tell us something we don’t know, Denise
Did the Daryl/Zeke convo go differently than spoilers? Is it made clear why Zeke really wants Dary to leave HT?
He looks jealous as fuck to me and I think Daryl realizes exactly what he means.
(and yes I will be deleting these anons after the ep airs to clean things up guys)
@silversundown2 Did Daryl look a certain way in this convo? Like, did he react in a way like he wanted to step away or was he defiant and acting like he would not step away from Carol’s life again?
He was totally defiant. he refused to say yes to Zeke. And said “Is this what Carol wants?” And after that scene Daryl keeps giving Zeke dirty looks for being shitty to Carol!
Behold...
Thought you'd be interested. Someone on tsdf watched the episode and during the break up scene Carol tells the King what they had was a FAIRYTALE. He tells her he'll never stop loving her and she tells him she'll never regret the fairytale.
Thank you!
That actually fits with what a lot of us were saying about the relationship and I appreciate the fact she was good to him in the end.
I know shipping gets heated and there’s a lot of hate thrown around but zeke did/does love her and he was good to her.
Undeniably Carol has some feelings for the King. He was very good to her. He provided the stability that she never had in her entire life. Zeke worshipped her and was in love with her. Carol, on the other hand, found him adorable and was in love with being in love.
There is a difference.
Exactly!
Soooo….all the times Zeke told Carol he loved her from 901-now and we’ve still never heard her say it back?
Hmm.
@allthatglitters-love
*Blink*
She hasn’t? I can't recall now. In a way, it doesn’t surprise me.
Carol’s fond of Zeke. It’s clear when she says she will never regret the fairytale, but it’s also clear that the fairytale is over. She is not in love with him. Never was. Carol was in love with being in love.
I know that look when I see it because...girl, I’ve been there.

Sunday’s Home Porn...
A dream home!
While other people blow up fireworks on the fourth, Stranger Things will be blowin’ up my screen. The long wait is almost over.
Caryl shippers looking at the Caryl tags like...
Winter is coming!
And haters be like…
Outrage echoing outside the halls of the Caryl tag from those who Carzeke shipped in spite’s name only be like…
For petty’s sake, there’s not a snowball of a chance that this moment can be any sweeter than the delicious salty tears of those that were the cruelest to Caryl fans, going as far as calling people racist for not supporting their fake sentiments over a ship whose wedding was never seen and affections between them were few and far in-between.
I LIVE!
My cold heart needs a moment to warm up...
Ah, yes. It’s getting warmer now.
Cookies?
“Caryl is so close to being can-”
“They’re best friends.”
“No listen, they-”
“Best friends.”
bless your heart, it must be so sad when your ship doesn’t have many canon interactions together (or really even share many shots together). Here, let me share some of our moments with you. I have photoshopped Jesus into them to save you the trouble
@psychoanthrowalker I’M PISSING MYSELF!!!!! THIS IS WAY BETTER EDITED THAN ANYTHYING THEY COULD’VE DONE!! YOU’RE DOING THEM A GREAT FAVOR XD XD
I’m howling, omg.
@psychoanthrowalker you’ve literally made my day. This is hilarious.
Every time I see this I’m dying laughing. It’s not just the ABC shipping thing. HIS. HEAD. IS. ON. BACKWARDS. This is the greatest thing.
C@rzekiel is getting divorced.
They can’t get divorced if they were never married. It never took fruition on screen. An acceptance of a ring just to 'try it on' is not a marriage ceremony.
Vindication
MMB is a phenomenal actress and has demonstrated very well Carol’s heart over the years, yet even non-shippers weren’t feeling ‘that loving feeling’ with the now floundering Carzeke ship. Some believed we were in denial. Some even justified, grasping in vain that MMB’s acting abilities perhaps have wained because she’s been on the show far too long and that her heart may not be all that into it. No, I say. MMB is a professional. These moments were presented this way for a reason and purpose.
The signs were all there if you were paying enough attention to Carol’s actions, and the way the scenes were played out. The very few intimate scenes between Carol and Zeke were not especially that intimate, or particularly sexual in nature. It was more like an old married couple that are bonded together through the love of a child. Carol doesn’t have the same expression in her eyes as she gets when she is with Daryl. Henry seemed the common thread that kept Zeke and Carol bonded together. Why, if I didn’t know better I would think Carol was trying to recreate her own family; the family she lost. And when that all went away, as it did when she lost Sophia, she turns back to Daryl; Daryl the guy she keeps a close and watchful eye on. Daryl, the one who has been off and on sporting that pouty face, expressing that he misses seeing her. Daryl who went to live out in the woods alone after Carkzeke went canon practically offscreen (you know, because deep and committed relationships always happen off screen with no true emotional build up). Yeah. That guy.
I’m not sure where this is all going, and I can’t cry Caryl canon yet, but I will say that I love what I’ve read with these recent developments, and I stand before you fine people, unabashed, basking in vindication.
Too late to edit, so I’m reblogging this to add that Carol was seeking stability with Zeke, the stability she never had in her entire life when he put a ring on it.
In episode 1 when talking with Daryl she says, “After what I went through with Ed, corny is really, really nice.”
Perhaps she felt at that time that Daryl was too broken to give her the stability and security that she so desperately needed? And maybe, just maybe Daryl didn't think he could give that to her either. He has some self-esteem issues. Replay that scene in 9:1. Good stuff.
This is another arc for Carol. She is redefining herself again, and perhaps Daryl is too.
“I see you.”
Can I just rant a little about the poignancy of Daryl asking Carol “what do you see when you look at me?” They’re having a conversation about whether Lydia should even be there with the group. When Carol says she only sees Henry when she looks at Lydia, obviously this makes Daryl think that when she looks at him, all she sees is Sophia.
BUT what really gets me about the question is, Carol has just essentially said that it’s so painful to see Lydia that she’d rather not have to look at her at all. If Daryl applies this to his relationship with Carol, he wonders if maybe in her heart, she feels the same about him.
So, in my opinion, what Daryl is really asking Carol in this scene is “Would you rather I be gone too? Is this why you’ve spent so much time away from me?” He’s finally expressing the deep pain he once tried to express with “I don’t like not seeing you though.” That feeling of abandonment and wondering why.
When Carol answers “I see you,” it’s not just affirming that she doesn’t just see Sophia when she looks at Daryl. At the heart of it, she’s saying “I want you here. I choose to have you in my life.” Which is a really important statement. I think those looks between them in this scene show that they both understand the deep undertones of this conversation. Carol in that moment is realizing this weight that has been hanging on Daryl for so long, wondering if Carol was deliberately choosing to leave him behind in this new life she was creating. I think Carol realizes how much she has hurt Daryl that he would even speak up and ask her this deeply painful question— basically, “do you even want me here?”
Carol choosing to “see” Daryl beautifully foreshadows her choice later in the episode. She actively chooses to have Daryl in her life— to see him.
Caryl shippers be like...
I do mean this with no disrespect because I don't even know how I've held on to this series for as long as I have.
There are a lot of Caryl shippers resurfacing that haven't been around in a long, long time. It kind of reminds me of being awakened after a long slumber.
We rise, bitches!
