(Sally) There was a lot that Sally was still trying to map out and figure out when it came to the ups and downs and which ways and what whoas of what went where and what went how. Last thing the Mud wanted to do was accidentally, for example, trip over anybody’s garden and cause a whole fuss or anybody’s literal toes and create an even bigger mess. But being curious she was out again, and what led to Sally seeing the very, VERY tall Mudokon before her. “Whoa.” she gasped. “Hey... there! Hi!”

Lilith had been camping in the forest, but today she decided she would look for the village. She didn’t do it sooner because she was so shy and was worried she would be intruding.

She was scratching the top of her head, trying to think of where she should go, when was suddenly startled by a young-sounding voice. Lilith turned and then looked down to see the small mudokon. On the tall queen’s forehead appeared to be a closed third eye, but she quickly raised her large hand to cover it in fear that it would cause the child discomfort. “Oh, umm... hello.” She murmured softly. It wasn’t often that she got to talk to others. “I was just... on my way to the village... Wherever that may be.”

Sally’s eyes had squinted up to where this new Mudokon’a hand had shunned to on her head, but it was brief. Maybe it was just some kind of scar or bump? Whatever it was, it wasn’t her business, anyhow. And anyway—

“The village?” The Mudokon teen perked up as her gaze lowered to actually look this new tall Mudokon in the eyes, stuffing her hands into the pockets she’d recently stitched into her dress. “Oh, yeah! Yeah, hey, I know where that is. I’m pretty new too so I kinda tried to map it out in my head pretty quick so I wouldn’t get lost.” She then tilted her head to one side. “I was actually just about to meander over there myself. You wanna buddy up?”

Lilith wasn’t very good at eye contact, and could barely look into the other mudokon’s eyes. It’s just how she was. She nodded awkwardly, managing a small polite smile. “Ah, that would be very kind of you.” Lilith said. She would have declined with a ‘I’ll probably be fine on my own, but thank you for the offer’ but she was also worried that the teen would get lost too, and also it was best to stick together. “So... Where do we go first?” She asked.

“About this way! You were on the right track.” Sally quickly broke off the eye contact so that they didn’t have to keep that up, the Mudokon herself having difficulties upholding it and just using it at all due to having it hammered in about being “polite”. She pointed out a dip in the trees about northwest from where they were and how they parted off. “Right through there is where we wanna go. From there it’s thankfully a pretty straight-forward path last I checked off.”

“Oh, that’s good to hear.” Lilith responded, relieved that Sally also didn’t make eye contact. She had always had difficulties holding eye contact, and she had always been awkward around others. The tall mudokon took a few small steps forward in the direction that Sally pointed in. “Shall we go?”

“Mm! Yeah!” Sally nodded before trotting over ahead in that direction. She looked back and waited for Lilith with a smile before continuing to walk at a smaller pace. “So, what’s your name? Hope that’s okay to ask - Is that okay, actually?” she asked, one of her hands reaching out to let the leaves of the bushes brush against it.

Lilith snickered softly at the question. “Of course it’s okay to ask that... My name is Lilith.” She replied. The tall queen was about to ask what the name of the small mudokon was, but her ears pricked up when she suddenly heard the ear-piercing screech of a scrab. Unfamiliar with wildlife but aware that noise clearly meant danger, Lilith carefully picked up the teen with a soft “Sorry” and sprinted in the direction they were going.

“Lilith? That’s a really pretty name! Nice! Mine’s Sa—WHOAOKAYALRIGHT—“ Sally had needed a few seconds to really process what just happened. One moment her feet were still on the ground, everything was dandy, and the next she was being manhandled into the air with the sound of Scrab screeches in the air. “Uhhhh! No! Don’t be sorry! Okay, wow, this is not the kind of welcome folks usually get, I promise. Okay. Damnit—“ Looking over her shoulder just to see how close the Scrab was getting at the speed Lilith was going, Sally managed to draw her knife out from her belt at the ready. Just in case.

She didn’t dare look back, she just focused on getting the both of them to safety. Though she did notice the young teen wielding a knife, to which she decided not to question.

“You- You said it was a straight path right?” Lilith panted as she ran for their lives. She wasn’t too out of breath; she was pretty good at running, and she was somewhat athletic. “Because I think I can see something ahead...”

As Lilith explained what the city is like, Sei’s expression went from being humble to looking shocked with her eyes blinking a few times, then to a sad look on her face. The city doesn’t seem to be a safe place not only based on how it was described, but also by the bitter tone in Lilith’s voice. “Oh..” Sei responds softly before she looks down slightly while thinking to herself.

Should I…tell her..?

The zordokon then snaps out of her thoughts by the time Lilith mentions another thing from the change of topic before looking back up at the tall queen. “Oh, don’t worry about it, it’s all good!” Sei then smiles awkwardly from feeling a bit embarrassed about dozing out at first before Lilith said another thing.

Sei did think about asking Lilith more about where she is from, but from how the tall queen described her hometown, it doesn’t seem to be a good time to ask more about it. The zordokon then thinks of another thing to talk about for a moment or two, then she looks up at Lilith. “So..what do you usually do..for fun and to relax?”

Lilith was fiddling with the ends of her feathers as Sei spoke. “Not much really… To relax I would just wrap myself in a soft blanket, but for fun I never really did anything.” The female mudokon gave a slightly awkward laugh. She probably sounded really boring. “It was hard to enjoy myself when I knew that my brother was getting more power and growing more selfish.” She murmured.

Sei nods while listening to Lilith talking about her usual routine. “Hm…I see..Well..maybe you can find more things to do in the village, hehe!” The zordokon thought in optimism that maybe she can introduce some of her hobbies to her new friend, not only to find something to do for Lilith to do, but also a way to have a bond with her as well.

But as Lilith was talking to herself under her breath, Sei couldn’t distinguish what the tall queen was saying except for one word. Brother. Sei blinks a couple of times as she slightly tilts her head in confusion of what that term has anything to do with what Lilith likes to do. “Huh..?”

“Yes... Maybe.” Lilith responded with a smile. “And... Don’t worry about it. It’s just... family issues.” She said. Back in the city, whenever she was starting to feel at ease, she would see his logo on a nearby screen. It was a suffocating feeling, which was part of the reason she had to get out of the city. She wanted to be away from her brother. “Anyway... Should we get going?”

Lilith was lost, exploring the native areas. She was fresh out of the city and felt the need to explore more of her surroundings. So here she was, in Necrum, by herself, a little nervous but in awe of the beauty of the burial grounds. She thought she was alone, but for a second she could swear that she saw someone else. Lilith took a small, deep breath. “...Hello? Is... anyone else here?”

Having fallen asleep on the cushion-like moss, Aprica slowly woke up to someone calling out for someone. She gradually made her way to her feet and began looking around for the mysterious voice. Soon enough, she spotted a tall female mudokon, who looked somewhat lost and wary. "Hey...you seem lost...are you ok?" She called out softly, being sure not to get too close.

She almost always had her third eye closed. It was blind anyway, so to her it felt pointless having it open- especially since it made it more obvious that she was a mutant. Her ears pricked up slightly when she heard someone respond, and was actually put at ease a little at how soft the voice was. Lilith looked round and saw a short mudokon of a beautiful blue colour. “...Yes. I’m fine.” Her eyes looked around a little. Quick, think of something to saw before it gets awkward, she thought to herself. “I, uhh, am lost, yes. I come from the city and wanted to live in a more natural and... breathable atmosphere. Do you live in this area? Could you tell me about it?”

Aprica gave the new mud a questioning look. "You... I don't think you...can live here." She said hesitantly. "I...know that this is Necrum...where the mudokon dead are laid to rest. They...don't take too kindly to people sharing their land...especially since the Glukkons..." She trailed off. "I only stay...because I look after their land, so they like me...and I have nowhere else to go..." Her face looked tragic as she finished her sentence. "Why are...you on your own? Why...not stay where you are familiar?" As happy as she was to speak to someone who didn't want to bury a loved one for a change, she was puzzled as to why she'd wish to live in what was essentially a cemetery wasteland.

“Ah- sorry. I worded it wrong. I meant to say that I’m going to be living near the... village, I think that’s what they call it.” Lilith said awkwardly. Misunderstandings were always uncomfortable, and she hated correcting people. “And... I am not going back to the city. It isn’t a good place.” She said, looking down slightly.

"...I'm sorry," Aprica apologised shyly. "I thought you...meant in the actual burial vaults. I...dont really know of anywhere other than Necrum...but living natural is a beautiful thing. If you...can stay warm and fed...its beautiful" she smiled faintly.

"But tell me...why did you live in...the city?"

“It’s alright.” Lilith smiled back a little. “I was born close to it, and had nowhere else to go. But I’m here now, which is what’s important.” She scratched the back of her neck. “Maybe, some day... we could explore together. If Necrum is all you know, that is... Have you been to the village?”
