Lilith, having just returned from her excursion, learned of what had happened recently after the siege of the Hotel during the last extermination. She was, in a word, distraught, to learn that her daughter had been to Heaven.

❝Lucifer, what were you thinking?❞ Lilith sighed, ❝she could have been in danger.❞

Lilith nodded, ❝I would have preferred walking but you're absolutely right.❞

As much as she wanted to do things normally with her husband, she couldn't risk being found out. Hell's residents would find out sooner or later but she preferred that they didn't coke flocking towards them.

❝Well then, my love, shall we?❞ She smiled and wrapped an arm around one of Lucifer's.

❝A friend?❞ She pursed her lips, ❝an angel, Charlie?❞

Lilith was in disbelief but she did come to know about it from hearsay - from Adam to be specific - that Charlie found an ally in a Seraphim. It was somewhat a painful reminder of what she and Lucifer had gone through when they were cast out of heaven.

She sighed deeply, holding unto her daughter tightly.

❝Charlie, as your mother, I am inclined to support you in all that you do,❞ she said, ❝and I'm sure that you now know more than anyone how brutal Heaven can be but you have me and your father now, we can help you.❞

"Y-Yes?..." She replied at first, before biting her bottom lip. There was no regret nor shame, though, only worry. "Her name is Emily...I think she's a good person. I'm worried they may end up kicking her from Heaven if she sides with me."

Should she start also confessing that her own girlfriend used to be an Exorcist angel?...

When the grip of Lilith tightened, though, she was snapped out of her thoughts and her gaze was fixated on her mother instead.

"You will help, alongside dad?" Swallowing with difficulty, it felt like the princess was trying to hold back a few more tears. "I'm willing to get any help I can get, but I didn't want it to get to this...I didn't want so many people to get involved or hurt because of me-"

❝Charlie, you are my daughter and I will do everything in my power to help you,❞ Lilith placed a hand on top of her head, ❝it's a risk that I'm willing to take for my only child.❞

She pursed her lips in thought, ❝I don't know how we'll be able to help this friend of yours but maybe your father can pull some strings.❞

❝More than that,❞ she leaned down to meet her daughter's eyes, ❝I've missed much of your life — who is this girlfriend that I've been hearing about, hm?❞

❝My love, I believe that you're giving me more credit than what's due,❞ Lilith chuckled, ❝King of my heart, you flatter me but I am only great because you are.❞

Lilith missed these types of interaction with her husband. It made her feel whole.

"Oh, stuff and nonsense. But maybe there's a compromise to be had here." He grabs both of her hands again.

"If you're only great because I am, then I am only great because you are. We bring out the best in each other. How's that for a truce?"

❝Fine, truce,❞ she chuckled, leaning towards him and placing a kiss on his cheek, ❝now, where in Hell can a couple find a place to dine and dance?❞

❝A place where we can just be us and not monarchs,❞ she asked, ❝that would be ideal, don't you think?❞

"Well, I agree, but it's going to be impossible to avoid being recognized, don't you think? I'm still partial to that place I mentioned earlier myself, but it might not be the best place to lay low at. Hmmm."

She pursed her lips, ❝I suppose you are right.❞

❝In any case, I am far more interested in seeing why this place has earned your praise,❞ she smiled, ❝it seems like a great place to go if the King of Hell himself finds it pleasing.❞

"Well, I haven't actually been there just yet?" He looks a little sheepish. "Just doesn't seem like the place to go and dine alone, if that makes sense....."

"I've just heard a lot of good things about it, and the atmosphere seems romantic, soooooo..... I think it would be lovely for us to try if you're open to it."

❝If you want to try it, my love, then I am more than open to going,❞ she smiled, ❝it's a first for us again, I suppose, we've never gone out on a date like this since Charlie was born.❞

"Hmm..." He had to think about that one. "I think it was one of the servants. Or even multiple of them."

Charlie was, the best of both of them, after all. She wouldn't trade time spent with Charlie for anything.

❝Well, as long as we don't need reservations for the place, I suppose we can go and enjoy.❞

"I feel the same way, would absolutely do it all again."

"Shit, I didn't think of the reservation thing....." It had been a very long time since he had dined out. "I'll call them and see if we need one...." He pulled out his phone to look up the number for the place, and made a quick inquiry. Finally, he hangs up and gives Lilith a thumbs up, showing they were in the clear.

She chuckled in amusement, ❝Luci, I think even without the reservation, they would have accommodated us,❞ she said, ❝what are they going to do? Send away their King and Queen who wanted to dine unannounced?❞

The more that reality settled for Charlie, the more that her heart sank inside her chest. She still didn't even know if her whole plan about the hotel truly worked.

"I have a friend up there, I...I fear that she will get involved in all of this and..." She didn't even want to think about what could happen with Emily. At the very least, the kiss atop her head helped to ease her worries a little, but it was still too much to swallow.

"It can't just end in war...it can't...there must be another way to solve all of this without having to spill more blood on each side."
