Thursday was the quarterly check-up w/ Jr., our doctor. our numbers from the previous week’s #peeandbleed were amazing! both of our A1C’s were an unheard of (for us) 5.5!! and, much to Junior’s satisfaction after years of bitching at me about my weight, it turns out i had lost 22 LB in the 3 months since the last check-up!! while something to celebrate it also piles on the on-going mystery as to “WHY?” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ on a hopeful note: Junior noted that while the numb toes COULD be due to the dybeetus (as i suspected), since it has that under cunt-trol, it was probably a vitamin B-12 deficiency. a simple blood test and…guess what? i’ve got the smartest freakin’ doc! still, the quest continues… — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/9opn5r2

On Tuesday, i had the honor and privilege of working a VERY special blood drive! back in 2006, Sgt. Jon Brough of the Belleville, IL, Police Department was shot in the face while responding to a call. During his initial life-saving surgery, he needed 35 pints of blood and subsequent operations called for even more. So even though he was left blinded and disfigured, he was so happy to be alive and so grateful that the blood was there when he needed it, he has dedicated himself to promoting the act of giving blood so that it will always be there in case the unthinkable happens! He goes on TV and radio and with the help of family, friends and fellow law enforcement officers, he has managed this mega-blood drive that brings in over 100 donations every year for the past 26 years! sorry for being so far behind…life and stuff on Saturday, it was time to transplant all of the corn that had started sprouting up in the yards and through cracks in the driveway thanks to a liberal distribution by (and the all-around messy dining behavior of) the local birds at the bird-feeder. Granted, they won’t bear any actual corn (thank you, greedy seed merchants!🤬) but they look pretty cool. however i had to go find a sunny refuge so they didn’t get mowed down in the next lawn maintenance. i found a good place on the up-side of the house. #watchthisspace — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/HvsrZha
