I saw him last week & wondered how I’d loved him. I look at you & want to love you, but won’t let myself. The first Sunday of this year, you turned to me & kissed me, held my waist & napped, finding comfort at my chest, & celebrated an anniversary with her three days later. Today I am reminded of him several times & reflect on how far I’ve come. I think of you & wonder if I am setting myself back. Give yourself to her. Neither of us deserves split atoms, words dripping from being torn, both of us left hungry from trying to share a portion meant for one. You are here. This time next year, I will be across the world. She will be here. Who will be with who?
