The biggest adventure of summer 2015 - Mission trip to China, Beijing
In the beginning of April I heard about the trip and since China has always been something super mysterious and interesting for me it didn't take me long time before I asked God if I should go, if I could be useful there. So I told Him as always that I need His help paying for this thing and apparently He liked the idea because I managed to collect all the money I needed (and even more) within 3 weeks. I was organizing a cafe evening at our school with different cakes and fresh juice, I was cutting people's hair to fundraise and there was a lot of kind people who decided do support my dream to go to China. I am super grateful!
Looking at the photos it may seem that we were on a vacation, we did have very good time, but actually we were there to serve and help at some good organizations that are making important difference in people's lives.
I was truly amazed about how the team I went with (strangers from all over Denmark) became good friends quickly and we had such good time together no matter what. We had adventures together, prayed and sang together, worked together - shared our lives like a family this whole time.
The places we visited and worked at (foster homes, organizations, streets, churches) and people we met gave us a a new way of thinking, encouraged and inspired us in many ways. I was surprised that even though we went there to serve and give of what we have, we ourselves gained so much of this trip - spiritually and experience-wise - more than I could have ever imagined. My faith and trust in God got a lot stronger in this time. We heard people's unbelievable stories and saw miracles every day. It was also cool to see the Great Wall Of China, Beijing, street markets, acrobatic show, eat interesting Chinese food with sticks.
oh, and on the way back our plane from Beijing to Milan was late so we missed the flight to Copenhagen and some of us were “forced” to stay in Milan in a really nice hotel for two more nights. The flight company paid. The food, weather and people were super!
I am truly grateful from the bottom of my heart that I had a chance to be a part of this wonderful trip! I feel so blessed.
We got to know some amazing organizations which are very open for volunteers to come and help. If you want a life changing experience but also make a difference in other's lives then ask me about it!
