Rebecca cooed softly and pressed her hand against her chest in jest love. “Maybe you can hire me on the weekends, it’s not like I have anything else to do like plan a wedding or something. Not that I’d rather be doing that but.. But yeah, it’s bound to happen and you need to be reayd for when it comes. Something is going on in this city and it’s not good, and if whoever it is that’s going to retaliate goes to the hunters then we’re all in trouble. Charleston can’t afford another take over and if they get the company.. they may as well already have it.” Placing her hand on her friends, Rebecca squeeze with a grin. “You mean send you off to your super cute brother who adores your son, gosh what a mean guy.” When Lily proposed the idea of the trade Rebecca burst out laughing, nearly knocking her drink over. Resting her fingers against her mouth she continued to laugh into them before stopping. “How did you know that’s what I wished for? An adorable baby boy and his kind of annoying mother. Just what every girl wants.. I can imagine my father’s reaction now.” And she could, it would be one for the books that’s for sure. Bumping shoulders with Lily, Rebecca sighed in agreement. They were a mess, but something had to give eventually for them. “You can have Andrew if you want, he likes kids and if all else fails I’m sure I could make my mind love you.”
“Oh sure, weddings are a breeze to plan. I mean its only a thousand calls and meetings, nothing you can’t handle right? At least it involves cake tasting.” Lily teased with a bright smile. She remembered planning her own wedding and thinking what a nightmare it was to try and please everyone who had a thought or an opinion on the matter. She and Cooper had stopped all the nonsense though when they gave up on the demands of wedding planning and eloped instead. “All I care about right now is keeping Cam far far far away from all of this.” She could handle anything else that was thrown at her right now, she could deal with losing the company even but if something happened to Cam she’d lose her mind. “Yes my adorable little brother who lives in his bachelor pad. There are some things I just don’t need to know about my brother okay. Not to mention have you spent two seconds with Cam after he’s left the care of Uncle Tristan, the kids on a sugar high he can’t come down from.” Camden and Tristan certain knew how to get into all sorts of trouble that was for sure, Cam reminded her so much of Tristan when he was a kid. “Awh look at you trying to pawn your mate off on me, you’re so sweet.” The sarcasm was clear in her teasing tone. Winking at her she shrugged. “I mean that’s so generous of you and then you wouldn’t have this wedding planning to worry about.”
“People sure do. We all do, not just the wolves but.. we all do things we’re not proud of but I think generally you guys take the cake on tempers “ She chided gently, raising one eyebrow as she grimaced slightly. Who was she to talk though, she had a temper, Avery had a temper and oh man Gemma was scary when she was mad.. Maybe they were part wolf too. Did she get her revenge? No. But there was someone who had done it for her, someone who had saved her from feeling the guilt it would bring. But she still wanted it sometimes. She wondered what that made her. Bowing her head slightly Emma shook her head. “I never got the chance. I woke up a few weeks later and by that time they had already been taken care of. Law enforcement didn’t know what to even call it, severed limbs and missing pieces and all that. One of them was hung up by his intestines. Grotesque to most but it was a gift, for me. I know that. I just think he was so driven by anger that he didn’t think about what not getting to do it myself would have meant for me, maybe I wouldn’t be so.. skittish if I had been the one to do it. Or if we had done it together. I can’t be mad at him though.. But I’ll put it behind me, someday.” Emma was a little surprised to see that the other woman reacted the way she had, but it was comforting slightly.
It was impossible for her disagree on the woman’s comment. “ We easily have the worst tempers there is no doubt about that.” Her mind wondered to her own father’s temper. It was something she’d learned early in life that the temper came with the territory. Vampires aren’t far behind when their hungry, at least they have hunger to blame their savagery on.” It was simply in their nature, the worst part of their curse. Listening as she explained what someone had done for her in regards to the men that had hurt Lily felt a sense of ease wash over her. Most would have cringed as such savagery but to Lily punishment seemed to fit the crime. “Well it sounds like they at least got what was coming to them, even if it wasn’t at your hands.Men who did things like that don’t deserve to live.” Lily said a tinge of darkness to her voice as she nodded her head. “At least their not still roaming free.”
‘‘God, I hope not,’‘ Jason said honestly, but he could not contain his chuckle. It was becoming a problem. If he were to raise his voice more, it would be almost rude. But then again, were these people not rude by arguing in such a public place in such a public manner? It was probably not his to judge. But the whole situation did bring him back to his high school days. When you just cannot help but laugh from the back row at the teacher who’s got something stuck in between his teeth and you know, you know it’s so wrong but it’s impossible to stay completely silent. ‘‘That’s like the ultimate betrayal. Her boyfriend with her sister.’‘ Jason shook his head, shrugging. ‘‘What if the poor guy isn’t entirely to blame, though? Maybe the sister was leading him on with clear intention.’‘ Now they’ve delved further into fantasizing. ‘’I honestly hope not younger than 20.’’ As Lillian continued, it was barely a few seconds before she asked the question that the girl ended up slapping the guy. ‘‘Owww!’‘ Jason covered his mouth, staring back at his table, because looking up would have been his doom, probably. ‘‘There goes your answer.’‘
Sipping on her ice tea as she observed the scene. It was probably rude for them to be intruding on this very embarrassing and very personal moment. Then again these two individuals were clearly not courtesy or intelligent enough to not lay their dirt out there in public for everyone to see. The truth was they probably deserved to have their dirty laundry out there for everyone to see. “Dude don’t even try to blame the sister here, seducing him or not he is in control of his actions. Time for him to own up for them.” Lily said with a chuckle over the fact that they were talking about it as if they knew. “This guy looks like a tool I wouldn’t put it past him.” She added with a smirk. Lily’s face dropped in surprised and she stared with wide eyes as the woman slapped the man and for a moment she sat frozen in surprise. Looking over at Jason she laughed at his response before glancing back at the couple and the woman was staring at her with a look of rage. Lily simply shrugged her shoulders in a challenging manner and took a sip of her ice tea as she continued to watch. “You think she’s going to turn on us here soon or do you think they’ll leave together?”
The blonde that was sitting in front of him didn’t look like she belonged here. There was a huge variation of people that did come into his restaurant. He didn’t discriminate at all. That was just not something that he did. Justus had learned throughout the years and decades to not do that. He used to hate vampires – Christal Adler being the main one because how she had managed to trap his brother, or at least that was how he had seen it but the war in New Orleans, opened his eyes. Made him see that he shouldn’t judge people cause it would get ugly really quickly. Everyone was useful if they put their differences aside – it was such a silly lesson but one that the wolf had just managed to learn. “That it is. Told them to get lost or they were going to help me with the dishes.” He appreciated the sense of humor, especially since he had managed to have a heavy day – his sister back in town managed to pull a cloud over his head. “I was going to tell you – never seen you around here. We don’t seem like your type. We common folks just stuff or faces and love carbs – we actually honor them.” He smiled glancing at the blonde, it was funny how he called himself common. His pack had managed to be in the royalty of packs but Justus disowned his family and walked away from it all.
Having just come from the office it was no surprise that Lily found herself in a heather grey skirt and white button up blouse, her long blonde hair was pinned back, and her feet were adorned with an expensive pair of shoes. Looking around the place she realized she probably didn’t look like she fit here, you’d also probably never guess that she was werewolf either with the prim and proper and appearance. It was no wonder she got this kind of response when she was chowing down on her food like she hadn’t eaten in days. “Dishes huh? Doesn’t sound so bad. It seems like it did the trick.” She chucked shrugging her shoulders. His next comment caused her to purse her lips with a smile as she nodded her head. “Not my kind of place. Haven’t you ever heard that horrible cliche don’t judge a book by its cover? Just because I run a multi-billion dollar company doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy good food.” It was the truth, she liked what she liked and she made no apologies for it. “ I actually prefer a place like this. I mean real food beats what ever hip trendy health food craze that seems to happen with these up class places. Not to mention have you seen the serving sizes at those places? I’ve got a healthy appetite so for the record this place is right up my alley. For the record, I love carbs.” She said before popping another french fry in her mouth.
When she talked about this being her life now, Aleah pressed her lips tightly together. She wished she could say this was her life now, given the fact that she didn’t want to leave these people behind, however, that wasn’t the case here. Aleah had every intention on leaving.. The only question was, was when. “No no.. Well, I mean.. Sometimes he asks me to stay behind. He’s oddly protective over me. Not that it’s a bad thing, just something I’m not used to. But since I found him out in the woods, he’s been concerned that something else will come and snatch me.” Aleah had never been like this before. She was used to her freedom, but Tristan had sort of limited her from that. However, the female probably would’ve stayed behind a little bit here and there anyway. She wasn’t that well educated on the human world, and though experience would help her greatly, she didn’t want to risk any more embarrassment.. There was only so much she could take, honestly. Plus, the more the blonde before her spoke about vampires, Aleah wasn’t sure if she wanted to go out around this town anyway. It was infested with creatures, and she wasn’t used to that. Good or bad, they still had to drink blood to survive and that scared her greatly. “Wow..” She shrugged, and rubbed her hands along the tail. “I had no idea any of these things existed. Then again, we don’t have anything like that in the ocean…” It was literally the most peaceful place down there, and coming here and hearing all the bad things that existed was quite frightening in a sense. “Do you know who is what? Or do they usually blend in?” It was probably a stupid question to ask, but Aleah needed to know - especially if she ever left the house without someone again.. She didn’t want to be placed in a situation that would end up with her dead. Everything the woman had been saying had actually been incredibly helpful too. She needed to hear this. Tristan usually gave her basics, nothing too in depth that would actually help with situations like this one. “That’s so.. I don’t know, so strange to me. We don’t do that down there.. At least, I didn’t. Why would they want to hide from their feelings though? I mean, you say it’s to not feel pain, but pain is normal.. Doesn’t it have to be felt? Shouldn’t they have accepted that the moment they were born? It’s like death.. I was told you all really get affected by it. But death is natural, and when one dies they return in the trees and flowers.. in the ocean and the things down there. It’s a part of life.. so why are you all so scared by it?” To Aleah, everything was black and white. She never ran from feelings, or fears. She was upfront, and didn’t let her fears control her. Apparently that was wrong to do so up here, however. This was why it was difficult to want to stay up here. She didn’t understand how these people worked.. but she also couldn’t go back home. “You’d be surprised.” Taking a deep breath in, Aleah bowed her head to the gold tail attached to her, then back up to the blonde. “Mermaids are immortal.. but there’s a way to steal our immortality. Witches, the bad ones, they hunt us and try to take that from us. It kills us.”
Lily nodded her head in understanding, once more it gave Lily some relief to hear her brother being so protective of this girl. It made her insanely proud to hear such a thing. She’d known it was something he would never admit to and it was a side very few had ever seen. It was a side of him that Lily had the privileged of knowing but very few would ever know. “Well it’s right to be concerned, there are things out there that aren’t so great.” Lily admitted honestly. “It never hurts to have someone looking out for you.” It was the fundamental truth wolves were taught from the day they were born. The lone wolf dies while the pack survives. By instinct alone they were predisposed to protect things they cared about and it made Lily smile to think her brother might care about this girl. “They’re something else that’s for sure. So is it just mermaids in the ocean, no other creatures like us, you know minus the animal life of course.” Lily felt a little out of her element questioning her about the sea given she knew very little about it. As someone who was so accustom to being knowledgeable about things it made her uncomfortable to be so clueless on a subject like this. Although this appeared a good time to learn something new. “With the creatures here, they are really good about blending in. Its pretty much a necessity to survival. There are hunters in this town and bad blood that could easily start a war between hunters and those of us who are born to the supernatural variety. “ It was probably going to be over whelming for this girl to hear but Lily felt like she should know the truth. “ I realize that’s probably scary to hear but I figured you deserved to know the truth so you don’t get yourself hurt because of it. Just be careful alright?” The concern was clear in her voice and it was written in her expression. Lily swallowed hard at her next question. “It’s just not that simple, just because accept pain for what it is doesn’t make it hurt any less and death? We mourn for those we lose, for the moments will never share with them again, we’re selfish. We don’t want to lose the things we love. Death changes our lives. Even more so when we lose people long before we ever expected we would.” Lily knew better then anyone who true that was, she hadn’t been the same since Cooper’s death. His passing was not something she thought she’d have to deal with. “It sounds like you get a lot more time down there but human lives are very fragile and they can be taken very early in life, sometimes too early.”

The king now lies beneath the earth; he’s buried deep and chokes on dirt, but your queen will rule forever even after she is dead and gone. The girl in the crown picks up her feet and the whole world follows. The girl in the crown with eyes like knives and a tongue like a wildfire. She’s the devil’s daughter and the angel’s lover. By the snarl of her mouth and the ring of her steps you can see how she was born to rule. The gods never cared for kings, but queens wear gold winged with war. You can hear them ask with pointed teeth; aren’t we divine?

“I think even Isaac didn’t live up to what his expectations were. Not that any of us knew what those might have been.” His eyes rolled at the thought. Damien hadn’t been a very sharing is caring person, so to try and guess what was going on in that mess of a head was impossible. He expected so much, but gave them so little in return in the way of encouragement. Tristan stared at his sister, taking in her words. “I do always listen to you.” He answered honestly, being serious for the moment. She was one of the only people he trusted wholeheartedly, and it wasn’t entirely because of the fact that she was his sister. He barely trusted Isaac, and his relationship with his twin was complicated to say the least. “I don’t know what I want.” He shook his head as he thought about it. “I don’t have any sort of goal. I don’t think I ever have, unless you count getting away from Dad as one.”
“I think those are expectations I’m okay with not living up to. I just wish he hadn’t been able to take so much from us before he went. Although I’m sure in his mind he gave us so much.” Lily said bitterly. Talking about Damien only seemed to sour her mood, he’d ruined so much, practically everything he touched, if she was honest. It only made her miss Cooper more. “Well I’m no expert, I have on the very rare occasion been wrong. He is gone now though, he doesn’t control our lives unless we continue to let him. No better time then now then to figure out what exactly it is you want Tris. You know preferable before your 80 and you realize its no longer possible.” Lily said with a smile as she glanced down at her phone. “I’ve got to go meet Margo at beach to pick up Cam. Promise me you’ll give it some thought?”
Casting his glance sideways, Jason spotted a very familiar face, a blonde he unfortunately did not have the time to get to know very well. All he knew was that she was related to Tristan and since him and the guy were on friendly terms, there was no reason for Jason not to get properly acquainted with Lillian as well. He knew that she was supposed to be some hot shot in the Roth industries, so she must have been a busy gal as well. He decided to play along with her estimation of the scene. It was bound to be fun, anyway. ‘‘Err– well, let’s see.’‘ Jason said, an amused smile dancing on his features. ‘‘Considering the fact that she’s terribly enraged and I heard her say something like ‘she’s younger, are you a perv’ – don’t take this too seriously, I could be wrong – I’m thinking it was her sister. Which is…’‘ He trailed off, musing on the thought as his gaze traveled to the distance for a second. ‘‘… strangely disturbing, especially because we don’t really know how old is her sister.’‘ Of course, this was all just playfully building up on a probably completely different story, but he went along with it.
Lily couldn’t hide her amusement as Jason rattled off his thoughts. Glancing back over at the arguing couple she had to admit it was about as amusing as watching a telanova. You had no idea what was really happening but the dramatic theatrical value was on par to keep you watching. It was nice to indulge in someone elses drama in times like this. “You’re right she enraged. Not just mad, not just angry, but that level of anger that usually leads with someone being strangled. Now the sister would be an interesting development and it would make sense why she’d be so mad.” Lily commented with a chuckle. “Even worse if she was younger, no woman likes to be traded in for the younger model and in this case she was literally the younger model. The real question here though is how young. I mean he does look like a serious creep so one could assume as young as 18. Either way this is getting interesting. How long till she slaps him you think?” Lily asked curiously, finding it really amusing to be creating such a story with absolutely no idea what was really going on.
your smile is contagious (20/?) - laura vandervoort
It was such a relief that the woman had been so calm about it all. Aleah needed this, she needed others to know.. People wouldn’t judge her or try to kill or pawn her off for money. There were horror stories under the ocean about what humans did to mermaids, and that made her fear for her life more than ever. Luckily that wasn’t the case… and though Tristan had explained that the werewolves were supposedly a predatory species, Aleah hadn’t seen it.. In either of them really. “Yeah, I was wandering around at night.. Something I really need to stop doing.” She began with a small laugh to follow. However, when the woman began to explain another form of supernatural creature, one she had never heard of before, that smile soon faded. She wasn’t aware there were beings other there like that.. People who fed off humans? What? “I’m confused… They.. survive off of blood?” Her heart sank at the thought of it, thinking that they were nothing more than violent creatures. Aleah had been so naive to the world, so she didn’t quite understand, nor could she fathom creatures that fed off blood to survive. It sounded both frightening and vile.. Why would anyone in their right mind.. Okay, too many questions. “Are there vampires in this town? If they feed off blood.. does that make them killers?” She wanted to know more. They sounded like merpeople to begin with.. Needing a special ring to walk with people on land, immortal and all of that.. But merpeople were genuinely good. They were innocent creatures who didn’t want to cause any harm to others. “No, we don’t have anything like that. Merpeople are pretty simple. We need water, and that’s about it. Nothing like a vampire.. that’s for sure.” It seemed there were several creatures out there that she had no clue of, but it was clear that mermaids were certainly the less lethal ones. “So I’ve noticed.” Averting to the next topic, Aleah let out a deep breath. Humans were strange.. They weren’t simple, they hid things, ran from emotions and feelings. It was hard for Aleah to keep up with it all, and she certainly didn’t understand why they did what they did, but she was learning at least. “Warm and fuzzy? What do you mean by that?” Another term she didn’t quite understand. “I think that’s the biggest difference. From what I’ve seen you all seem so different on the outside, but on the inside.. there’s something else. With us it’s all the same. I don’t hide things, or not speak my mind. Like Tristan for example. I get this feeling there’s so much more to him.. Then he’ll say something but mean the opposite, or feel the opposite. It doesn’t make sense.” The woman sighed, realizing how frustrating it was. She half wished she could just go back home, but there were so many things keeping her from going there. “Ha.. it’s.. uh.. I guess you can say mermaids are a dying species. We’re being hunted, really. So it’s… um, it’s not safe.”
“Well its only natural, your curious, if this is going to be your life you’ll have to get use to being out on your own. You should be able to explore with help and without. You’ve got to learn some how right? Please tell me my baby brother isn’t trying to keep you couped up here all the time?” While she was sure her brothers intentions were noble he couldn’t keep this girl locked away from the world trying to protect her. The only way she’d ever learn was by experiencing life and lord knew there was plenty to learn. “There are vampires in this town and yeah vampires survive on human blood, like sink there teeth in and drink sort of thing. They aren’t all killers, some know how to take only what they need and then they have this neat little ability to make people forget what happened. Other’s are though, predatory species and all they have a thrill for the kill. So naturally they can be dangerous.” While most werewolves were taught from an early age to despise vampires Lily knew better then to give into propaganda. All species had their monsters but it was a choice. “Not everyone is so.....” Lily wasn’t sure what the best word for it was. “Complicated. Some people wear their emotions on their sleeves and they say what they feel and they aren’t scared to show that kind of vulnerability. We’re not all like that but some us are. Some people have to hide those emotions and that vulnerability to protect themselves. Some people have experienced such pain and such tragedy that feeling all of that, all that time is too hard and too overwhelming. Other’s are scared of that other side so they put on a front and protect like this aren’t as bad they really are.” Lily identified with a lot of this and it was complicated. She’d mastered these two facets of her self from such a young age, it had been hammered into her at a young age that she needed to act a certain way or be a certain way and she’d only wanted to be what was expected of her but that created this underlying resentment that made her someone else. It was difficult to balance that darkness that brewed so close to the surface. “Hunted?” Lily’s heart dropped into her stomach at that word. While most hunters she’d come across only hunted the supernatural that chose to cause harm to others she had known a few who killed for sheer sport. “Who would hunt mermaids?” Lily asked curiously.
Elena Michaels in 2x07 - ‘Bad Dreams’
“Is this your strange way of getting me to sleep with you?” Lifting a single brow, Austin faced the woman beside him and smirked at her. Though they were just joking, Austin wouldn’t have been opposed to the idea of them hooking up. He was that type of man after all, and though he loved Samantha, he wasn’t sure where they stood anymore. She wanted a divorce, and now she was off somewhere where he couldn’t get ahold of her. Not that he tried though. Even though what he deserved was his choice, she was pushing herself away from because of it. Which meant Austin wasn’t sure what was going on. He wasn’t sure if he was still considering himself married, or what. He had been so confused about everything, and rather lost as well. Austin was pretty much alone in the world right now, but luckily he had a few friends to fall back on. Wasn’t nearly as before, but it was keeping him up. “Most awesome person in my life?” Right now, she pretty much was. She was the only one not going crazy and causing him stress, so he couldn’t argue that. Not that he wouldn’t, just to tease her. “You keep this up and your head is gonna get so big that you won’t be able to fit through the door.” He laughed. “Handsome? That’s it? Lily, I’m gorgeous. I’m the definition of perfection. Look at me. Any girl in this city would be lucky to have a piece of this.” A teasing laugh fell from his lips, though he was pretty serious about it. That was one thing Austin was sure of, and it was what made Austin, Austin. “Yeah, and I’m married to a psychopath who just stabbed me the other day with a fire poker thing. I think I can take a cute little puppy.” He began, nudging her softly. Austin had never gone against any other supernatural creature other than a witch, so if they were being serious here, he wasn’t sure how it would go over. “Clearly you’re not thinking about the right things, miss. World domination sounds amazing, and I vote we just go for it. We could have everything we ever wanted.”
“What this? You don’t get laid much do you?” Lily teased. “If you think this is my way of getting you to sleep with me you still have a great deal to learn.” Leaning forward she batted her eyelashes flirtatiously. Lowering her voice she leaned into his whispering in his ear. “If I was trying to sleep with you, you would know.” With that she nudged him away once more with a laugh. “I would hate to take advantage of your emotional state right now.” She teased him and it wasn’t really a question of want, Austin was attractive and there was no doubt he was good company. It was rare for her to laugh this much, not since Cooper had died. It certainly wasn’t something that was out of the question. “I don’t see you denying it.” She pointed out taking a drink. “My ego is already as big as it can get and for good reason. I mean have you looked at me.” There was that cockiness that had gotten her to where she was today in the company. Confidence was not something she was short of, but it was something she was often times forced to push down to not overwhelm others. “Yeah, yeah you’re pretty we know. I’m not blind jesus calm yourself.” Holding up her hands she bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing but it didn’t hold long because she laughing once more. “Any girl would be lucky to have.” She reaffirmed his words. “Wait she stabbed you with a firey poker? Why are you married again? I mean I don’t remember marriage being that fucked up.” Lily asked, the question was honest and she shook her head. “I can still take you and I have no problem making a man cry and if we’re going to take over the world I’m going to need you at 100%.”
