According to my Duolingo weekly progress report, last week I learnt 246 NEW words and completed 95 lessons. That spans over a time period of 5 hours and 28 minutes, which is roughly an hour a day. I think I could have found a healthy routine with Duolingo now.

So I’ve started making mini flashcards of the words/phrases I am learning in order to test myself every so often. 

What learning methods do you guys use?

the other day it snowed where I live for the first time in 40 years! honestly one of the most magical moments of my life, at recess at school everyone went outside and had snowfights, on the bus ride to school I saw a snowman on the side of the road and I almost cried because everything was so beautiful :’D

herdrafts I’ve been writing drafts for days, reading The Waves gave me the right amount of ideas to start writing my own novel. I’m experiencing something I’ve never ever thought I was capable of; I mean putting words on paper wasn’t easy at all for me, now I’m slowly improving and that’s a great accomplishment. I’ve also started reading Electra and Orestes’ plays by Euripides, although I still have to finish my cr, I’m gonna add two more books I’ve just bought; The Land where lemons grow by Helena Attlee and Summer and other essays by Albert Camus.

The weekend. Same as any other day now really, with less work. With all the time in the flat I’m trying to do the things I’ve wanted to do but been putting off: I’m propagating tomatoes and herbs, sorting through these old copies of LRB and other magazines and papers, I’m going to complete that half-finished human rights law short course, tidy my kitchen cupboards and make pasta with the 00 flour that is still sat in a jar. All good time-filling things. But it’s also enough to just sit in the sun for an hour with a beer and a book, isn’t it

15.04.2020. I’m having a lot of trouble writing. The whole corona virus thing is really making me anxious and I’m struggling to find motivation. I tried to switch to handwriting instead of typing and it worked out really well! Writing by hand makes me more focused and I feel less pressured to come up with a great sentence or paragraph. Anyway, thought I could share it here and maybe it will work with someone else too 🖊

Happy new year everybody! ✨🙏 Did you set your 2020 reading challenge? I’ve read 41 books of my goal of 20, it was such a great year speaking of readings. For this year I’ll try to reach 40 books or more, in particular non-fiction and classics. I can’t wait to dive into new inspiring reads, and posting nicer content.  I’ve got a gorgeous planner and a new sketchbook + a liner 0.3 as Christmas gift; I’d like to fill this one with architecture - classical sculptures I used to draw when I was at university.

Je suis chez moi. Been staying home most days and only going out when I really need to.  I had brunch in bed, did my private tutoring lesson in the comfort of my room using video chat (thank you technology) and still in the progress of rearranging my room. I also painted my phone case with nail polish out of boredom… turned out nice tho.

today is a beautiful day. the roads are quieter than usual so I could hear the birds chirping from outside.
