WAKE UP BABES NEW OWL JUST DROPPED ❗❗❗

The Principe Scops Owl (Otus bikegila) is an owl endemic to São Tomé and Príncipe. The paper describing the species was published October 30th, 2022, but the species was suggested to exist since 1928.

The species is named for Ceciliano do Bom Jesus (also known as Bikegila), a local guide who had taken part in over two decades worth of field efforts before the species was formally recognized.

[9/1/22]  I should make art that’s weird I want it to just be painted to look like it’s just decisions chosen at random and not have any meaning behind it other than “I think this would look cool”. I want to pretend to be so high-concept and pensive when really I’m just going “rendering fun… colors…. pretty :D” and then whatever happens next is all muscle memory no brain. I think it would be funny
