She should have expected an answer like that coming from a vampire, but the actual amount of centuries that had passed when it came to her answer still came as a bit of a surprise to Hayley who could barely think of what her plan was extending to a couple of days beyond the present date. “Wow… long time to still be considered close, but I guess when you’ve got an unidentified amount of years to roam the earth, 400 years isn’t too long.” she found it difficult to wrap her head around the idea of having family and choosing not to be around them for such an extended amount of time, but that was probably just her projecting her own lack of family on to the situation. 

“i never said i considered us close for the entirety of those years.” she wasn’t even sure she could consider them close now. how close could you possible be to someone when you couldn’t feel anything? without her humanity she felt no true emotion towards her brother.  “i was young when he left so perhaps that is why we were so close. it doesn’t matter though. i don’t actually care.”

“I chose Chelsea Tiny, I didn’t even know she was a vampire when I ran off with her, nor did I have a choice when I became one.  I got gutted on her and I’s living room floor.”  Part of Afton wished he had a scar from that fatal wound, instead of the ones from thne newborn army.  “But I do so enjoy our conversations, it reminds me of the ones I used to have with father.  You know you kind of look like him.” He teased.

it wasn’t like val cared for her brother’s excuses or reasoning about why he had left her. all that mattered to her was that he left willingly and if she hadn’t figured out about the supernatural she never would have seen him again. “are you going to call me tiny forever, even though im psychically close to your age now?” she asked, changing the subject. her brother leaving was always something that made her humanity flicker and she wanted to keep it off. “I do not look like father. you’re so rude.”

Losing his mate, and regaining his sister in the span of six months had been something he had never thought would exist.  Moving into his sister’s room, plopping down on the bed, after swiftly grabbing the drink and taking a deep sip for a moment.  “I’m still trapped in this town Tiny, all is not right and I doubt it will ever truly be right in the world.” He explained with a sigh.

val sighed and rolled her eyes, sometimes her brother could be such hard work. “dont you dare complain to me about the life that you chose for yourself. you could have stayed at home with me but you chose not to, you left and decided to do this so don’t whine to me about it. i promise you i dont care.” in a way her brother had chosen this life for both of them the difference was that val loved it and wouldn’t change a thing about her life.

“and this is why you’re my absolute favorite.” she grinned. when she moved to town it was with the intention of only visiting and so she had been bouncing around from hotel to hotel. it was nice to know there was a house she was welcome at. “oh i apologize. do you think you could be a little less dissatisfied with life for long enough to have a drink with your favorite person? maybe second favorite, i forget sage exists.”

“First impressions may matter but I think I’m going to hold off judgment on whether this whole thing was a pleasure,” Hayley said raising an eyebrow at the vampire in front of her, tilting her head as she tried to guess who her brother could be. “You must be close if you went all this way to look for your brother. Forks isn’t exactly a premier travel destination.” 

val didn’t really know why she was telling this stranger about her life but she supposed it gave her something to do. forks could be incredibly boring at times and short of murdering people she was running out of entertainment. “we used to be close i suppose. that was four hundred years ago.”

All I know is current events and this towns been dealing with pretty big stuff recently.” Hayley said, shaking her head as she watched the other woman and wondered who her brother was and if he was one of the people that she’d met in her time in Forks. “I’m hayley, by the way…”

valentina knew as much about the town as she needed to and not a thing more. she didn’t care about his history or even about the people living there. not that it was easy to care about anything without humanity. “valentina. a pleasure im sure.”

Always more light hearted than he, Valentina was certainly a breath of fresh air into his life when he was freed from the dagger once. He had come upon her in a dark time in both their existences. And then was taken away by Niklaus again all too soon. Making his way closer, he placed a hand on her cheek. “Well we both know it’s not me.” A small smile flickered over his features. “But Kol…. he’s the party animal.” Eyes studied her as he tilted his head. “How are you?”

valentina liked to think of herself as the light finn needed in his life. even without humanity she always seemed to have a certain liveliness to her that she believed he needed. “i’m not sure kol’s a fan of me wondering around the house whenever i want. slightly hypocritical if you ask me when he has that witch living here.” she shrugged, it was easy to find entertainment outside of the mikaelson family if you knew where to look. “im doing wonderfully of course. how are you besides the eternal torment you seem to wear on your face?”

she’d been in the mikaelson house looking for finn but after a while she had given up and decided to sit somewhere and wait for him. when she heard footsteps she assumed it was her maker and she turned around to greet him. “oh there you are finn i’ve been lo- oh. not finn. good evening klaus. to what do i owe this pleasure?” @havocbled

over the last couple of months val had managed to find a new friend of sorts in celeste. there were a lot of things they had in common and valentine recognized her own fire in the girl. not only that, but they could hunt together and it was always more fun with a partner than alone. “i’m feeling nice. why dont you pick the next one?” @flowerdsoul

even though the girl was in town to visit her brother, her humanity was very much still off. in the last couple of months seeing him suffer her humanity had been flickering but it still wasn’t enough to turn it on for good. she made sure he knew it was off too. that was he wouldn’t expect any kind of emotional support from her in his time of need. “brother. im going to assume your girl is back and all is right with the world once again?” @mysteriescndlegends

despite being born & mostly raised in seattle,  the petite vampire had made a home of forks and a family of those she knew that lived within its wooded limits. she had been frowning sure, but only at the clouds that seemed darker than the sleepy town’s usual overcast.  her attention is turned towards the voice and she quickly rids her features of any sour expression.  “ well not everyone is miserable in forks, we’re a fairly content bunch usually. “  tess replies simply.  “ i was just looking at the clouds;  looks like a storm or at least some rain is headed our way. “  she turns her small stature to the brunette, offering a warm smile. “ are you new ?  “  a slightly rhetorical question, considering she doesn’t recognize her amongst the faces she passes daily.

val looked up at the sky with a frown, she didnt care about the weather but she would prefer not to get her jacket wet. “i guess im new. i dont intend on staying for too long. im just looking for a couple of people and then i intend to go on my merry way. while you’re here - question. where’s good to drink around here? and who’s good to drink?” valentina always preferred to talk to other vampires, it meant he didn’t have to hide who she was. not that with her humanity off she gave a shit about the humans knowing.

Hayley looked up just in time to hear what the other woman was complaining about and just sighed at her lack of tact considering the events that had happened in Forks over the past week or two. “A lot of lives were lost recently… a lot of people lost loved ones on the same night,” the same two minutes, really. “Are you new here?” 

she couldn’t help but roll her eyes, of course she would come into town right after a tragedy that had made everyone sad and boring. “fresh off the plane. im only here to see my brother and then i’ll leave your dull little town to cry in peace.”

The original chuckled as the question lingered in the air, shrugging his shoulders at the familiar face. “Perhaps…. you just have unbelievably bad timing.” He offered, giving her a look as she continued on, hoping the voice alone would be enough to make her stop. “Of course you did always have a habit of the whole ‘wrong place, wrong time’ thing going on.”

ahh there he was. the second person she’d been looking for. she couldn’t be sure but when she heard the mikaelsons were in town she was hoping that finn would be up and about. she paused and spun to face him immediately, a smile on her face. even though her humanity was wavering, she was almost happy to see him.  “yeah, and you wouldn’t have me any other way. i know the town is all sad and mopey and everything but there’s got to be at least someone who knows how to have fun.”

          THE TRIPLETS ARE RESTING COMFORTABLY at home with lennon and his mother while he was out doing some shopping for the never ending projects around the house. he’s got an arm full of groceries and supplies as he made his way back to his truck, pausing as the scent of vampire and the voice reached his ears. scowl easily worms its way onto his features, glare fixed easily on the woman that had spoken. ❝ maybe it has something to do with more obnoxious leeches like you flooding this town ? your kind certainly know how to dampen the mood of a place. ❞

valentina sighed, a hand resting on her hip. she should have known there would be more than just vampires in town. she didnt want there to be but she as going to have to deal if she wanted to see her brother. “i’m sorry pup what was that? i dont speak animal so you might have to repeat that.”

val had been in town for less than 24 hours and already she was starting to get bored. it was small, dull and there seemed to be people moping all over the place. whatever was going on wasn’t her vibe and she wanted it to end. rolling her eyes at one of the people who looked miserable she pausing in her walking, heels turning quite on the sidewalk. “why is everyone around here so bloody miserable?”
