All right. I canât believe this is still a thing but apparently some people really are that petty and immature and ridiculous, so fuck it, Iâm saying it.
There are a couple of so-called âCaptain Swan fansâ who are sad, pathetic, petty little bitches. Theyâre obsessed with what other people like, and do, and say. They canât handle the fact that people enjoyed season 7. They canât handle the fact that the wish realm exists in canon. They canât handle wish!Hook being a character on the show and they canât handle people liking him.
And they have decided to deal with their own shortcomings by attacking other people, bullying them, and trying to ruin their fun.
Theyâre not fans, theyâre bullies, and all of this is 100% their problem.
These are people who have spent months, years even, nursing their little hate boner for a fictional character. Let that sink in for a minute. They donât just dislike something and maybe rant a bit and then ignore it, like a normal person. Theyâre so narrow-minded and petty that they spend actual time and effort hating on it. Over, and over, and over. Writing fic to express their hate.
Like, imagine getting so bothered by someone elseâs ficâa fictional story about fictional charactersâthat youâll spend actual time and effort writing a âcome-backâ fic? To âdefendâ a fictional character from the injustice, nay, the horror, of being written about in a way you donât like?
I speak two languages and I donât have enough words to say how utterly ridiculous this is.
Like, thatâs the crusaders of truth and justice right there. Fighting the real fight. Some people risk their lives to save kids from burning buildings, but these guys, these guys are defending Captain Hook from those who write the wrong kind of stories about him. Wow. Brings a tear to your eye, doesnât it? Such a noble bunch.
Please, please, donât let these people take your joy.
Donât let them ruin what you love. Donât let them win. They are pathetic, and ridiculous, and I promise you, we are stronger than theyâll ever be. You want proof? Itâs the fact that we focus on what we love, not what we hate. We can accept othersâ opinions even if we donât agree. We can accept that thereâs fic and meta and all kinds of content out there that we donât like, without bullying the people who made them.
That takes a certain amount of strength of character. Itâs a strength that most people have, to be fair. Those particular idiots donât have it. Theyâre pathetic. And I hope they realise it one day and get their lives back on track, but I donât particularly care whether they do. I do care about everyone else in this fandom.
And I really want you all to know that these people are pathetic little idiots who are just trying to make you as miserable as they are. Please donât let them.
