I feel sorry for the court reporter

A court reporter is never spoken about in Ace Attorney but it’s the person that writes about EVERYTHING that happens in the courteoom.

So like, imagine this person that does the court report, they’re just doing their job, writing all that happens, and it’s normal, everyday, Ace Attorney world stuff.

But every single time Phoenix Wright walks in the courtroom, this court reporter just gives this sigh, pops all their fingers and joints and just starts

Due to all the nonsense that happens with this guy, his assistant, the person he’s defending, witnesses, and even the prosecutors in every case he’s in.

Ok but consider the courtroom sketch artist tho.

Since cameras are apparently not allowed to be used in courtrooms, scenes from the courtroom would have to be drawn. So it’s the usual drawings of the defendant, the attorneys etc.

But I bet there would be some pretty popular sketches of-

An attorney cross examining a parrot (and years later a freaking whale)

Witnesses breaking down (you know how bizzare some of it can be)

The assistant looking different sometimes

The attorney exorcising a spirit with contradictions

The artist would have a baller of a time in the courtroom.

The artist and the court reporter give side glances when Phoenix walk into the room already knowing this would be hell.

The artist only does a few sketches but with every Phoenix case, they fill sketch books of the entire case.

The newspaper people picking out what drawings to use and being like “???” Due to half of it. Judge, defense attorney, his assistant, witnesses get whipped in the courtroom? The defense attorney getting coffee thrown at him? Cross-examined a parrot?? Used a metal detector to prove the prosecutor was the murderer??? There defendant is a whale???? Posession?????? The defendant’s assistant is suddenly drawn as a different person????? What is this???????

Same goes for the court reporter. It’s a novel length by the time they’re done.

Let’s just say the newspaper people have one hell of a job to do after ever Phoenix case.

Oh and the court reporter and courtroom sketcher always get some drinks after each case. They talk about the insanity that happens.

One can also find sketches of tragedy, such as one of the defendant dropping dead in a case in the past, and then there’s a report and a sketch of the prosecutions mask blowing up.

These two professions would catch a break after April 2019, but after about 7 years or so it’s back to shenanigans such as-

An attorney with horns holds a pair of panties for some reason

The prosecution constantly air guitaring

A defense attorney going super saiyan

There’s a bird on the Judges head.

The defense getting attacked by the hawk and several kunais from a convict prosecutor

The witness goes nuts with a motor scooter and escapes from the court room in the process.

When the press said they would be on a field day I bet this isn’t what they had in mind.

During the 7 years they do see Phoenix from time to time though. They even stop and ask how’s he doing since they were there the day he presented forged evidence and got fired. They learned Phoenix was doing things for the court and traveling to help a friend (cough cough Edgeworth) with legal work too. Yet, for the 7 years they didn’t see Phoenix within the court session, always outside of it, in the audience and such.

So for the 7 years the sketcher and reporter had it easy. There wasn’t any extreme drama or inanity happening in the cases anymore.

But that all changes 7 years later where instead of seeing Phoenix in the audience, they saw him as the defendant that’s accused for murder.

Everything blows up once again.

Phoenix starts off as the defendant but quickly becomes the new attorney’s, who’s hair that looks a lot like horns, assistant. IN WHICH caused the actual assistant/mentor to be thrown under the bus as the actual murderer.

Sketch books and novels had been filled and typed again. And since then they learned Apollo’s name quickly as his cases, such as with Phoenix’s, was freaking crazy.

In all honestly, they missed this. The insanity, the corky people, the reactions, the twist and turns.

The newspaper people didn’t. Man, they dread when they started receiving novels and sketch books again. Already full well knowing it deals with the defense attorney Phoenix Wright once again.

What if-and hear me out guys-the player is actually the court reporter? If you think about it, every time you go anywhere in game you hear the sound of a typewriter. Always. It would be weird to document the entire case from finding out the client, to investigation, and end with the actual trial. But it does make a lot of sense. You, the player, are dealing with documenting the insane incidents that happen in a courtroom. From the States all the way to Khura'in. And believe me when I say that the trials in Khura'in are beyond okay because of how their law system works. Now I want an Ace Attorney game or comic based around the court reporter and court sketch artist. It would be nice to see how they interact amongst themselves and the people they work with. But Capcom won't do that because they need to come up with a new assistant to throw into the Wright defense team along with a prosecutor and the entire plot of that storyline.
